I'm in need of a mobile SSH client (like putty) for my phone. The issue is that the only one i have been able to find works on WM5 (mobilePutty). Anyone have any GOOD SSH clients that work with the Tilt?
What's wrong with PocketPutty ?.
Does SSH1 and 2 with tunnelling with easy keyring configuration what more do you need ?
Well, does it work with WM6? the only version I have found is for WM5... If it works with WM6, I'll use that one... (My phone is being delivered Thursday)...

Sweet! I have pocketPutty on my IPaq, but it SUCKS without a keyboard... Looking forward to using VIM from an actual keyboard when on the road...

Good luck maybe you should first check if the device you are going to use has the '$', '^'. 'ctrl' keys handy
tbh I type faster with the onscreen keyboard.
Maybe with a large on screen keyboard, but the IPaq's is TINY (even small for a stylus)... I'll figure it out. I'm not looking to program from the phone, but I would like to be able to restart Lighttpd, and make minor tweaks (which souldn't be a problem)...

Yeah, I have to use the onscreen keyboard with PocketPuTTY a lot due to the inability to do "ctrl-key" combos with the hardware keyboard.
The one thing I don't like about PocketPuTTY is that it is SLOW. It takes forever to establish a connection, my Treo 650 (and even the 600) before it did far better with PSSH for PalmOS.
if you're serious about using ssh, don't use putty. use PockeTTY because it's just so much better.

Push the Cert button at the connection manager. Pick your private key, done.
I used PockeTTY before but I switched to mToken because it is way much faster with more features.
mToken works very well.

Interesting posts I've used pockeTTY and pocketputty with pocketputty coming up tops but yes as mentioned earlier there is an initial connection lag... I haven't investigated what the bug is.
I'm going to try mToken as suggested
i payed for mtoken because it saves sessions and can do serial connections with my bluetooth serial console. It also has a host of other features. I recommend it.
SSH and port forwading
Someone can tel me if the port forwarding fonctionality through SSH was implemented for another
SSH Client ( port forwarding pour pocketputty is instable)
Thanks

I believe the latest version is pocket controller pro v6.01. If your not sure wether to get it or not download the trial first. If you like it buy it. what it does over the other apps similar to this is it uses all the softkey option like you would on your Kaiser plus you can setup hotkeys for spacific applications. I find it especially usefull when I have formatted my Kaiser and reinstalling apps. I makes it so much easier to enter the serial codes through the pc keyboard and you can even install apps without touching your phone aslo. replyiong to texts and emails are made easier, running programs work great also

Hi guys!
Is there a working H.323 client that works with Kaiser?
I would like to connect to company's PBX, and damn /// still support only H.323, not SIP in this sw version.
Netmeeting is working fine on my laptop, so I hope to find something for the Kaiser as well.
Thanks,
T.

Not really seen anything specific but this may whet your whistle!!!
http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/12/windows-ce-6-0-r2-to-support-videoconferencing/
Windows CE is the base core of our system so it all filters down.
Thanks mate, but I hope of finding something sooner than the new M$ release of operating system and video conferencing. All I would really like to see is plain VoIP client that supports H.323 beside SIP.
I do know that Ericsson has developed clients that work with their PBXs using H.323 protocol, but they are developed for their smartphones using Symbian (P990, P1...)
T.
Not exactly sure what functionality you're after... but I thought Skype has conferencing features.. and it's free.
I don't know if you already looked on the internet for software, but I found this app: SJ Phone
More info is to be found on their site:
SJphone® is a VOIP softphone that allows you to speak with any other softphone running on a PC/PDA, any stand-alone IP-phone, or using Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) with any traditional wired or mobile phone. It supports both SIP and H.323 standards and is fully inter-operable with most major VOIP vendors and ITSPs.

Thanks for your response. If i install another rom, will i lose all my existing settings/programs/ and contacts?
And also where can I get other roms from? (Sorry to sound stupid, but just like to be double sure).
Thanks in advance!!1
Also no RPD build-in for me!!
Just install thisone, work perfect
Okay I have this installed on my diamond and have a few questions.
Im remoting onto a vista laptop, Im connecting okay.. however no matter what I set in the remote desktop mobile options, I cannot see any mapping for my handheld device to transfer files. Ive tried My Computer, Ive tried Network.. nothing. Why? Any advice?
Secondly, the pocketnow video demonstrating remote desktop mobile being run on the diamond in landscape mode. I see no option for this.. how can it be done?
Thirdly, if you run remote desktop mobile in full screen you seem to lose access to the disconnect button and SIP. Any suggestions?
The CAB file works great for me, but it's not possible to access the telephone's memory through the explorer on the remote machine, like described here: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=5454
So it's not possible to get music from home for example... Does anyone know, why? Of course it's possible to put the requested files into a apache-folder and download it using opera, but thats not the best way.
I didn't see the message from "darthbane2k", but my questions are the same
I'm guessing the CAB file on the previous page is an older version with less features. Parhaps one from WM6, not WM6.1?
+1 for someone who would like the cab file for the latest-and-greatest Remote Desktop client for WM6.1
..am currently looking at two Diamonds (my now TLR2-based test unit and my 1.37.401.3-based stock production unit) and neither have it installed, however I do vaguely remember seeing it a while back on he test unit which originally was a HK import and thus old ROM. Guessing now removed (in some markets at least)?
Cheers.
Nope.. I definately have the new version as the allow device mapping is in the options. Even when ticked, I still cannot see my mapped device when connecting to a remote computer (Vista home premium)
It works fine on my diamond, both within the LAN as well as per 3G. However is there a possibility to get keyboard to be able to enter things as well?

Yup, it's plain WM6, not 6.1.
WM6.1 RDP
It did not work for me either.
So I started a petition on this blog http://max.zamorsky.name/2008/11/04...bile-into-touch-diamond-and-all-current-roms/ to collect comments as a means to persuade HTC and Microsoft to include RDP in every ROM by default.
They seem to misunderstand who their lead-users are...
Please comment to help me make our lives easier.
o.k. There seems to be two ways to solve this.
If you want to keep the software keyboard do this:
go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2&postcount=36
1. Download & install the KforTouchPro app.
2. Launch KforTouchPro (It is installed into the Games folder)
3. Click the Switch to M$ IME button.
4. Click Minimize in the lower right corner
5. Launch Logmein using PIE
6. Type away using your hardware keyboard.
If you only use the Hardware Keyboard and do not want to use KforTouchPro:
This is a simple Regedit.
[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Layouts\e001 0409]
(MS IME mode)
Ime File = \windows\compime.dll
Layout Text = COMP IME
-or-
(HTC T9 mode)
Ime File = \windows\eT9ime.dll
Layout Text = eT9 IME
WOO HOO!!!!!!!! Thank you very much to KevinGibert, fhsieh, and Colorado_al

Anyone got any work around?
Same problem. Since my previous device was a Touch, I never missed/used a slide out keyboard. The keyboard works just fine on the Kaiser. I'm going to question Logmein on this issue.
glad to see i am not alone! I have been having the same problem
Yeah, one thing I dont understand is that the virtual keyboard from the apps doesnt work either...?
Also what Cab are you guys using for the remote client?
RACtrlCE?
I'm having the same issue, I think it would help if we all submitted a support ticket.
Ah, crap. Me too.
There is a workaround:
If you change your input method to the default WM keyboard by pressing to the right of the keyboard icon and choosing "Keyboard" before you start the session, you will be able to use the soft-keyboard. Still no hardware keyboard.
It sucks, but at least it works. If I can't have a fully functional LMI setup on my FUZE, I'm returning it.

Fix
Here's an app someone made in another thread. Basically the reason the hardware keyboard won't work with some legacy apps is because of the way the touch pro's auto completion system works. This app lets you switch it off.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2791652&postcount=36
Has anyone had the opportunity to test this app yet? I dont have my fuze with me today because I was kind enough to swap phones with my wife today to see if she wants to upgrade from her BB Pearl.
I would love to know if this works so I can update the first post with the info.

Make sure you're not using T9. On the QWERTY KBD, there is a switch for ABC - T9. Make sure it says ABC, then switch keyboards, and try it again.
Not sure, but worth a try.
I just tried the above posted CAB and it still does not work. The only keys that work... and they worked prior to the CAB were the arrow keys and the Del key.
Al,
Which ROM are you using?
I tried with this CAB in the past, didnt help.
T9 is one of the first thing I disable as well...
I just tryed again with Elite ROM, no changes. I can use shift/tab/del/enter/arrows, but no letters/numers/special characters =(
Just spoke to Support, they know about the issue, it has been escalated but there is no fix at this time nor is there a timeframe for an update.
Just wait till more people get there hands on FUZEs from AT&T, then they will blow their FUSEs!
So right now the best thing I can think of is to enable the onscreen keyboard (OSK.EXE) in windows and place a shortcut on ur quick lauch. What a shame... that we have this nice slideout keyboard and no use for it!
I feel bad for the people who pay for logmein pro, although I am sure they have more influence than I do as a free user.

That would me me... Unfortunately, I don't think I influenced anyone during that call. Not to say that 200 - 300 support tickets for the same issue wouldn't either. IMO I think anyone having problems with the TP keyboard and logmein should report it to Logmein whether they pay or not, it might get them to move on it a bit faster.

I just submitted this just now...
Hello, I am currently unable to use the built-in keyboard of my new phone in Windows Mobile 6.1.
My phone is a HTC Touch Pro also known as the ATT Fuze, I and other user of the same phone all have the same issue.
I am told it`s a known Issue, can I expect a patch/workaround or a newer CAB to address this issue?
Thanks

You might try the software found in this post:
http://www.forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2791652&postcount=36
It changes the weird raphael IME to a default one. Works for me in PocketGBA and even DOSBox and TomTom.
If it works, maybe you encourage the author to open a thread especially for this software as I searched quite a while to find a workin solution for the strange keyboard behaviour.
Hi, I have tried searching for something like this for a while now, both in the forums and on the web.
So, for the question. I want to use my onboard keyboard on the X1 to control my PC, preferably via bluetooth. So when i press a key on my X1 keyboard my PC will register the same keystroke.
Is this possible, and have anyone seen a software or product similar or exact as i am describing?
Kind regards
Lemuren

lemuren, i was also searching for a bluetooth keyboard / mouse program on my x1. I've found a program called Mobile Remote: http://www.mobilesrc.com/MobileRemote.aspx, that emulates a Human interface device. The advantage of this is, you don't need any drivers because windows and other operating systems already support these kind of devices. It's even possible to use the x1 keyboard and mouse on a Playstation 3!

I just downloaded this app yesterday and tested it on my Vaio Laptop. It appears that the physical keyboard works but it is always in FN mode (blue square button), so I end up typing the symbols and numbers instead of the letters. Wondering if there is a way to disable this when using the physical qwerty. The touch screen keyboard works well, but I would rather type with the actual keyboard.
Hello, guys.
It works!
Any luck figuring out how to fix the issue /disable the blue square on the physical keyboard?
thanks a lot

Nope, no luck. I found that the other program works better than Gremote (uses a server on the PC, so is more advanced). So if you want to setup the mobile as a mouse the MobileRemote is the better one.
