duplicate contacts

any program that can remove duplicate contacts from sim or outlook contacts on the wing(i use inesoft address book as default)thnx.

I think there are various free apps that will do this on the PC.
Sync to PC, clean up your outlook contacts with free app, then resync.

I would like to have the options in Outlook to just click "Do not show SIM contacts"... would help a lot without loosing the sim contacts....

Sim Manager and Contacts

I just saved my contacts to my sim manager, now both the regular contacts and the sim manager contacts show up when i hit the contact button on the bottom right of my Tilt screen. I can delete the regular contacts, and it only shows the sim contacts, but the sim contacts don't have parenthesis (), or the dashes in the number, any way to get them to show up, or any way to keep the sim contacts from show up in the contact screen and have the regular contacts and the sim contacts as a backup?

Kaisertweaks does just that. Except you have to edit the setting after each soft reset.

you need kasiertweak and simfix which means even after reset it is ok.

Picture to Contacts

Can one add a picture to people in your contact list?
Looked around but i dont see how, could be i havnt woken up yet. Need more coffee

Ok i just noticed that i had all of my contacts on the SIM card. Thats why i could not add pictures.
Is there a quick way to export all the contacts off the SIM to Outlook or is it a 1 by 1

While looking at your contact list on your phone, press the "Menu" button and choose "Sim Manager". This tool will help you to copy/move all contacts from your SIM to your mobile-storage and visa versa...
If you want your contacts in Outlook, use ActiveSync (google it), which is a desktop application that helps you sync your phone with your pc.

How to view contacts from phone only?

Hi guys. I have copied my contacts from my SIM card to the phone. However, the phone now shows both contacts from SIM card and phone, meaning duplicates of contacts.
Is there anyway to just view the contacts from either the phone or the SIM card?

With my wm6 tornado, that setting was hidden with phone network settings such as divert calls, call waiting etc.

Contacts only off of my sim card?

What if I only want to use the contacts off of my sim card and not contacts saved to phone or from my Google account? Is this possible?

Yes, contacts -> display options uncheck google and facebook.

Do I need to "Import from SIM card". With my Vibrant and any other GSM phone I just slide the SIM in and there are my contacts shown off of my SIM. Does stock Android not do this?

I imported my SIM contacts and in display options under Choose contacts to display. Only Google is showing up AND I am showing triple contacts in my phonebook, YES THREE OF EACH CONTACT. What the HECK is going on. A little frustrated with this.

first of all, in contacts under accounts, uncheck sync contacts.
then delete all the phone contacts (you may use mass contact delete app from market).
then import from sim card.
in this way, no repetitions and only sim contacts would be displayed on the phone.
also if you want to manage the contacts on phone and on the sim use "contacts to sim" app from market.

and also to mange the contacts of your gmail, in pc go to gmail, then on left side, click contacts.
and in options click merge duplicates. it does it.
but again duplicates. lol
so what i did is deleted the gmail contacts and if it again backups i delete again.

Thanks for your assistance. I just wish that "SIM" would show under "Accounts" just as it does in my Samsung Vibrant.
