Anyone successful with VoiceCommand 1.6 and Parrot CK3100? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

My Jabra BT500 works great, the CK3100 has nothing but trouble Parrot US support is being particularly unhelpful - curious if anyone has made it work or not.
This the stock AT&T Tilt ROM with the retail shipped VC 1.6.
Richard

the parrot itself is working for me, but my stereo (06 Saab 9-3) doesn't play well. VC does work, just not great but I believe that it's due to my car. I'm just using the Parrot's voice command

Yeah, that's Parrot USA's "solution" - but MS Voice Command is soooooo much better I can't go back. I'll literally change BT car kits first
Did your Parrot work with other phones previously? My CK-3100 in this car ran great with my Hermes/8525 - the Tilt sets it atwitter though.
Richard

My parrot has been consistent among all phones, it's really more of an issue with the stereo in the Saab. Ask me again in 6 months when my lease is up and I move the parrot to a new vehicle

My CK3100 works fine with TyTN II and Voice Commander 1.6
"What is my battery level" , "What song is this" etc
...very cute !

Would you mind telling me some things about your setup?
Sounds like you're running the stock HTC ROM?
What revision Parrot firmware are you on?
What's the full version of your Voice Command? 1.6.xxxx <- what's the xxxx
Stupid but obvious question - have you tried making a voice-dialed call and then trying another VC operation? E.g. press Green button on parrot, "Call voicemail at work" have call progress, press Red button on parrot, wait a moment, then press Green button again and try something like "What are my appointments tomorrow?"
Thanks a million!
Richard

when you say it works well, does that mean that sound is routed through carspeaker?
when I press green button and say 'what time is it' I get the answer only through Tytn loudspeaker

Let me give a tip I found for my Parrot CK3000 & VoiceCommand.
If you have any voicetags in your Parrot... it won't pass the ball to VoiceCommand.
So I just wiped its memory (it's Green+Red on mine) then just paired it once more with my kaiser, and stop here! (do not save any contacts/voicetag in the kit)
At this point, when you'll press the Green button, it will get the VoiceCommand prompt

thanks Sebbes (I did that already).
But will the audio be routed to the carspeaker?(or still through the phones inbuilt speaker?)

VoiceCalls : yes (VC invit, and your actual calls)
Any other audio : no (like GPS voices etc)

I have installed two versions of 1.6 on my Tilt. The newest one fixes the announcements but seams to break BT voice command.
The announcements don't work on the older one but BT voice command does.
I will live without announcements...
Later, Lew

Jabra BT 800 and Broadcomm 3900 upgrade

:? Hi guys Just wondered if any of you guys are experienced problems with the Jabra bt800 working intermittently. Sometimes it works but most of the time it does'nt . I've upgraded to Broadcom 3900 and although blue tooth audio still crackles its not as bad.. The headset works alot better with my SPV C500.. Any ideas or experiences :?:
bt 800
hi i have xda2s with bt 800 working somtimes
i upgradeed to bt3900 but i see no change
somtime i takes 5-6 kye presss to unswerr a phone call
i do not have any audio problem the audio is ok
glad to know i am not the only one.. cheers for replying
did you try to contact jabra support???
I have a contact in GN Netcom so will have a chat with him next week and post the response here
thenks
:? Ok after talking to my contact in GN Netcom we have come to the conclusion (seings as it works fine with my Motorolla V3 and Nokia 6810 and 6820 and Siemens SK65) that the issue lies with the Bluetooth stack on my 2s.I did explain about this that i had upgraded it to the newer version and i personally believe they have not totally replicated the way the Bluetooth in the xda2s behaves the same as a normal bluetooth enabled phones.
I believe that because it works fine on most of the Manufacturers phones and the XDA's of this world are low priority to get it right.. I still believe it will be fixed in future Bluetooth upgrades on the xda2s.. doh still think that even though the display and buttons work intermittently it is still worth having for the DSP
The problem still exists!
I have Qrek 9090 and Jabra t800. Audio is very good and also on the good range.
BUT...
Main problem (even with Jabra 800 fix CAB file) is that I can't normaly answer the phone call. It takes about 5 or 6 times before I can reply the call. And also, it takes about 2 seconds before I can hear other side opponent.
I just wonder if you people have some kind of this problem. Any expirince. Could you please share with me some information.
I use Danghard rom 1.44 wit BT 3900.

Hi..use search,,,still this is how to do a voice dialling:
1) Install MS Voice command and assign a Hardware button(any) to activate the software so that it an listen to our commands.
2) Now, just press the "Call answer" button of your BT.By doing so it will activate the sound on your 2s.Then press that harware button of Voice command and speak...
It works flawlessly
Thanks
thank s
Ill def try going to Delhi, will return and sure thry Voice dial and re-install my BT stack to see if there is crackling sound still there
also how long can you try to distance your phone from the BT
I got one Jabra bt800
its superb and must say its a best one around with lots of features
Eehheh and you call that voice dialing?
If i had to do all of that to voice dial i could also press the button on the device and talk the name to it. And that would be one click less than with your solution.
I think the idea of voice dial with bluetooth is to keep the phone in your pocket and do the talking via bluetooth only.

Still can't solve my problem with BT 800.
I contacted with several companies but didn't get any correct answer.

Gentlemen,
After a week or so exploring this forum and experimenting with my Logitech bluetooth hands free I've got a feeling that the only possible solution for the moment is to prevent the BA from getting into the sleep mode. Use ScreenLock or Mort Saver instead.

Well, thank you.
But as I understood from different threads in forum this is one way.
But... I'll kill battery of PDA very quickly. Really don't think that it's a good idea.
People from Jabra told me that new firmware will come soon and will help to solve this problem.
So.. I think that it's not the fault of PDA or ROM... :?

ISSUE- Voice not over BT headset

Guys,
I understand you are concentrating on the WM5 upgrade and other interesting projects. Maybe, you can take a few moments out to share some of your experience with a newbie....
I am using TuMa v1.5 WM5. I am able to use BT really well (of course, the issue of BT turning off with device on stand-by remains).
I am able to connect with my TomTom and with my Cardo Scala BT headset. The problem is this: If I use the headset to initiate a call using the BT headset (by double-clicking the headset buttom to redial or by pressing the BT headset button to voice dial) the call goes through as intended BUT my voice does not go over the BT headset to the other party. Also, the voice from the other party can be heard over both, the BT headset and the phone. This problem DOES NOT appear if I make the calls using the phone with the BT headset connected to it.
Please advice. Thanks for your help and for a great forum, especuially for us newbies.

Select use for phone only. Perhaps then it works.
The headset is connecting to device audio, not phone audio.

For the sake of argument, I'll presume you're using v1.4, since it has the most up to date BT elements in it, but v1.3 should be very stable for BT communications as well.

Yeah ... I'm still looking into this. I hope to have this working through the Microsoft Stack. The Widcomm one is still looking like a "last resort", and it really is a bit more 'ugly' to use - especially in it's compatibility and (from what I can see) reliability.

Hmmm ... this sounds like there is still some form of a headset audio routing issue as vastloper indicates. Try ensuring that only one profile is active at the time (headset probably).
I will shortly have all the gear I need in order to properly test this myself too.
FYI: I've now recently purchased the following devices:
- SIRF Chipset Bluetooth GPS Unit
- Motorola HT820 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones
- Jabra BT 150 Headset
- Jabra BT 330 Headset
- BlueTrek X1 Headset
And now have access to another Jabra BT 500 Headset, and another pair of Bluetooth Stereo Headphones.
So ... shortly, I will have the ability to REALLY test everything out myself in the Bluetooth realm.
Now all I need is 5 ears, and enough pockets to carry all this stuff in.
The process I used....
Thanks, vastloper and Tuatara.
Tuatara- genius AND a sense of humor... thats a rare combo! We all appreciate your efforts in bringing WM5 to us. You go out of your way to make it better for us. Thanks.
Regarding the issue on this post, just FYI- I used MOHDWADEA's process for voice command over BT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42923&highlight=
Could this cause the problem? Does this light any light-bulbs, any 'aha' moments? Please let me know- I greatly apprecaiet it.

It's possible. I'm not entirely certain what this will change in the configuration (or versioning of replaced DLL's), but it is possible that there are compatibilty issues. Since I don't have a device with TuMa v1.3 on it anymore (one's on Alpha v1.5 testing, and the other is a AKU2 'brick' attempt at the moment), I can't even find out for you.

MS Voice Command 1.6 Retail runs on AKU3.2

FYI
Just installed MS Voice Command 1.6 Retail (1.60.4622.0) and it seems to run fine on my AKU3.2 1.3.2
Does it work over bluetooth handsfree voice dial activation?
Mr_Ding
do you use bluetooth handsfree to voice dial?
i have been trying to get it working with IIs with no luck (I use ITech mini II bt handsfree + XDA IIs)
If not, I guess Cyberon voice dialer is better than VC1.6 - less memory and very accurate.
cheers
No, haven't tried bluetooth handsfree.
I defined 1 hardware button as Voice Command, press it, then I say "Call Mary at home" for example.
Will try next week (have my BT headset at work, since I hardly use it)

ercave1,

Many asked why Voice Cmmd works well on 8125 but not Kaiser/tilt

There have been several threads where members have commented that Voice Cmmd 1.6 worked very well on 8125 but not on Kaiser/tilt (or on the 8525)- the problem is poor recognition through the phone mic (not through BT) - VC worked great on the 8125 but not on either the 8525 or the 8529/tilt. admittedly some say they do not have the problem but others do (as do I on both the 8529 and 8525)and I can not find any explanation - it seems like the mic is either too sensitive or not enough - I have tried switching the ACG mic to either enabled or disabled with no clear difference in performance of VC recognition
Sooo..
- does anyone have any ideas ?
- are there any ways to adjust the mic other than just enabling/disabling ACG?
THANKS!
I can add that Voice Commander does not support the Kaiser as well.

Same experience. In fact, mine works much better than it ever did on my Eten M600 and until recently my Dopod 838 Pro over WM6 (aka HTC Hermes/TyTN). Do that note that I use mine with a BT headset with the TyTN II (Kaiser) and I no longer have to install hacks for it to work when the BT headset button is pressed. Everything works after first install.
I replaced my 8125 with a tilt. I had VC1.6 on both. it works the same on both. both work well. people just like to whine
It works great on my AT&T Tilt as long as I use my headset. When I don't it's pretty crappy, by luckily for me only time I want to use voice command is with my headset.
the people that are having problems should turn on AGC. i dont have to as it's usually quiet around me and I speak loud and slow, without mumbling
I'm wondering if those that are having no problems with Voice command are finding the same one issue I have found. The one feature that does not work for me is the caller Id annoucement in your BT headset when a call comes in before you answer it. The VC features list states this is a feature but it has never worked for me. How about you guys?
Voice Command works MUCH better on tilt / kaiser if you turn "ON"
automatic gain control in phone settings.
DLD
I have to agree. I had AGC off and I had trouble with voice command, I read a thread that said to turn it on and now I do not have any problems.
Strangely, in my limited testing, I got better results with it off.
I have tried VC1.6 both with and without hacks and I am unable to get it working from the BT headset button. Worked fine on my Hermes though (with hacks).
I guess I might need to do a hard reset but then i have to contact Tomtom to get a new ID licence from them

TomTom commands over bluetooth car kit?

Hi,
is there a way that TomTom will output the voice commands over my Parrot bluetooth car kit? This would be great as the Diamond speaker quality is really very poor...
Thanks
I am very glad that Diamond doesn't speak through my Parrot (only calls and voice dialing)
My previous Nokia E60 did and it was terrible, always interrupting my in-car stereo
Maybe you have very loud car? or try make TomTom speak louder

Hi..
I don't know if it is spelled the right way.. but vjvlobilis should do the trick.
If it doesn't work for you.. then search here or on google for bluetooth audio gateway.
@tehac: no my car is pretty new and not that loud but the speaker quality on the diamond is really crap.
@Richard: may be I am unable to handle google but nothing found...
I installed BtMusic, this works great with a Parrot CK3100. You could try it!

The previous answers are for using a2dp, but I assume you meant using hf (hands free) profile so it would interrupt the car radio and play the voice direction. This is not possible because of the way TomTom is written, it uses the a2dp profile.
You can listen to music from the phone using the above methods and it will play the voice directions along with the music.
As earlier described, you need support of the A2DP profile in your parrot. I am using a parrot MK6000 and it works like a charm! Also for playing music, streaming music and films (though the last one i hardly use, only see last tour de france news in the traffic jam)
So, does it works, Yes, without problems, Yes, but only with the MK6000 and MK6100

Intresting! So does that mean when any sound is played from the handset, the radio is cut and switched to the handset, then when it finishes it cuts back to the radio?
Sounds great, better than the old ck3000 were you have to switch constant streaming on for it to come through!

Jep, for some programs it works by pressing the play button on the carckit, and if not I go to bluetooth settings and activate bluetooth wireless stereo, then al the things are forwarderd, tomtom, audio, streams etc.
(Tomtom only misses the first 0,5 second of the first sentence, but i resolved this issue by editing the audiofiles from tomtom)

It works exactly as you describe with TT7 and my Ck3100. So without a2dp. Using the tool mentioned, my radio is muted when a voice-direction is played, and the music comes back a few seconds after the command. (Just like with an incoming call)
So in my opinion it also works great with the 3100

ill try to explain how my setup is as best as i can
i have a ppc6700 runing ROm6.1( Kitchen ) and TomTom7 ( with TT6 maps ). I use an external BT ( Holux GPSlim240 ) also use CorePlayer ( for streaming shoutcast ). In the car i have a JVC-BT1 ( bluetooth deck )..
I can play streamed audio form shoutcast and have TomTom talk in the background... Works fantastic !!!!
Only thing is i have to keep the car deck at BT Audio ( its a setting such as CD, Radio, BT phone and BT Audio ) it does not work unless the deck is set to BTAudio..
Anyway i can say it does work with waht i have, cant say for all configurations.. good luck on your venture....
FYI, i just changed over to IGO8 and IT DOES NOT WORK....

@pizcolq: my Spanish is not the best but honestly I do not see what the tool in the thread posted has to do with the problem we are dealing here... perhaps you could translate/explain a part of it? thanks
I saw that basically it is working with Btmusic. The commands are transfered to the car kit, it does just not switch on and off as commands come...
So I guess technically it should be possible, I just need the right app on my diamond which switches the car kit only to on when a command is coming... Can not be that difficult, can it?
