HTC Home cleanup/customization - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hopefully this isnt a silly question....
Im digging the new HTC home plugin, but it takes up SOO much screen real estate....
Ideally I just want to get rid of ALL of the tabs except the home tab...I want to get rid of the section of the plugin that has all of the different tabs. I want the clock and the notification portion...but even if I remove all of the tabe except the home one, there is still a section listing the home tab...I want to free up that real estate...
Any thoughts?
I know...kind of hard to explain....

At this moment? Not possible!
I know people are looking into it, but it's not possible yet. Maybe it will come available.

I just want the damn clock to be not quite so large

HTC Home Plugin SIZE??

Does anyone know if there is a way to change the size of the HTC Home Plugin?... It is really Huge
I'm afraid not dude.
I asked the same question a little while back, and the general consensus was a simple "no".
A bit of a PITA cuz you can't see the full calendar entries, tasks etc at the bottom of the screen!

Recommendations for apps for a Tilt noob?

Hi,
New to the ppc world and just got the Tilt on 10/18. Love it btw-and have figured out how to uninstall most of the bloatware that ATT includes, and also have figured out cab install.
So here's my question/s? Just a few if anyone would care to help-
1)Whats a good weather app that appears on the today screen that doesn't take up lots of real estate?
2) any suggestions for a good basic GPS app? (nothin fancy-don't want to pay ATT's monthly Telenav/saw google's already)
and last but not least--
3) Any way to put a power on/off icon on the today screen?
(I have fat finger syndrome-lol-and the power button on the side is a pita)
any suggestions are appreciated; along with any other "must have" apps.
Thanks,
Alemaker

The weather that comes with "HTC home" is my favorite.
Good basic GPS would either be Google maps - free if you have internet or (tomtom or Iguidance)
3) there's a few yes. I use pbar, but that's even smaller

Vendor Start Screen

I've searched quite a bit and I just can't find it, what is the link to the first screen that shows up on the Tilt when it boots up?
I know the animation is: 3G Up_01_1.gif
I know the Windows start image is: welcomehead.95.png
But I can't find out that first image.
Or if there is anyway to make one picture show up the whole way through instead of switching to the 3 seperate ones. (I do know there is a point to it, and it's nice to know where it is in the boot process)
And while you're here, do you know if there is a way to add a "Weather" plugin to the HTC Home Plugin that comes on the Tilt? I've found the upgraded one that adds the PIE icon and I can use Kaiser Tweak to add more, but none of them are a weather plugin.
Thanks.
that's part of ROM image, to cahnge it you have to flash your ROM with a cooked one. Also, I think you can just flash the splashscreen but that requires you to load a different bootloader such as HardSPL.
If you have HTC HOme loaded, then you have a weather tab. Get HTC Home Customizer from pocketemu.com and you can customize the tabs, icons, and weather settings.

edit: I don't think this is what you were looking for. Unless you want to disable the start up animation..

Ok, I may have to look into that.
As far as HTC Home, I don't like the large clock format. I like how it is, although I plan to go through the Customizer and see if I can make one I like better.
Thanks.

If you don't use HTC Home plugin and just want a good weather plugin, then there's a host of good ones out there. I recommend SPB Weather it's one of the best out there.

I will definitely look into that. So far I've just been using google as my PIE homepage with the weather located on top of the headlines once I log in.
Thanks.

Yeah that's what I do to. I used to use Marsware WeatherPanel along with the normal plugins of WM5. Now with this HTC plugin, I just like it way better. My weather isn't as detailed but I like the design better then the old plugins. All comes down to personal perferences....

Customize HTC Home?

Is it possible to customize HTC home that comes with WM6.1 for the Tilt upgrade that was just released? I have it installed and I like it, for the most part. However, I would really like to change the favorite contacts and the items in the launcher. However, when I hold my stylus on one of the contacts I don't want to see, it just starts dialing.
Is there a manual for the new software that I missed somewhere?

don't hold your stylus on one of the programs/contact you don't want to see, just click the last program/contact in the section, which should be an X
And this is why I need to play more than I did... Are there any other tweaks for the HTC Home? personally, I'm not liking the amount of real estate it takes on the screen... 2/3 of it in portrait and all but 1-2 lines in landscape is a little much.
I like the functionality of it, but would really like to find ways to make it look better/different if that is possible.

Nope. Its pretty much fixed size. You can get emunutz's HTC Home Customiser to chage the clock font, icons etc. But as for size... its fixed. The only way is to recreate something similar using apps/plugins like batterystatus
Any idea how to remove the "Weather" tab? I never use it and want to get rid of it.

Yerp, Use emunutz HTC home customiser and take it off the active tabs list.

So after a month of using TF3D...

I decided to disable it and use ilauncher, ill never go back to TF3D in the near future.
The device is so much easier to use and is far more responsive.
Just thought i'd share incase you wanted to see for yourself!
any screen shots?
milky wallpaper
i tried the same but when i wanted to place a wallpaper on the today screen it went all milky.that and the loss of the tf music player made me go back again. how did you solve these issues?
It's not very difficult to create an ui which is faster, easier to use and has more options to customize than tf3d. Whats cool about tf3d - the wather app? I'am wondering, what kind of benefit people see in this peace of software.
I am using MS2 and it beats tf3d in all regards. You can get with a few clicks to anywhere. If there is a menu you miss, you create it, or you delete an existing one. You can use the complete MS2 only with your thumb. (hardware+softkeys). You have shortcuts to your last used programs within the today-screen - if you wan't to keep a shortcut, it's possible to stick them.
MS2 throws you not so early back to WM6 as tf3d. (contacts,notes...) I even find it is optical more apealing on the long run and more unified in look and feel.
That there are many ui's better than tf3d is more because of the bad design of it than good design from the others, I have the impression, the makers of tf3d are only interested in smashing some eye-catchers together for nice screen-shots, instead of getting the user fast and easy to the point where he wants to.
The only reason I'm keeping TF3D is without it some system functions don't work. For example, volume buttons stop working during calls etc. etc.
