Kaiser Keyboard - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Is it just me or does the keybaord suck ass, I like the rubbery feel but it never feels liek a definate press comapred to the HERMES keyboards. I press a key and You got to tap for example the space button in the middle, or else it doesnt quite click with that confirmation, you feel it hasnt registered.

tru.............

yeah im not impressed with it..
I miss my Hp Hw6515 kb.. it had defined buttons then clicked and you didn't need to look at the kb to type.

Is there a way to disable the KB's softkeys?

Those two softkeys on the sliding keyboard... they're always getting hit when I'm typing, often sending half-finished messages and attempting to call/delete contacts.
Is there ANY way to disable them?
I wouldnt go as far as to disable them, but I do find them quite frustrating at times, HTC should've seperated the softkeys from the rest of the keyboard.
I would also like to know if this is possible. They are annoying .
I would imagine that if you would disable them you would have to disable the softkeys period. But i would like that them to get out of my way too
tiny screwdriver + leverage?
lol, might need a knife to cut the keyboard rubber too
wonder if the could be remapped rather then disabled
you know duprade's herald/wing keyboard fix? Maybe you could use that software to remap the softkeys, assuming it allows you to do so.
I think the hardware keyboard soft keys and the external softkeys are the same input... so if you tried to change them, it would disable/change both sets.
Use AEButton Plus to disable the keyboard SoftKeys
AEButton Plus will do this. I have mine set so that a single press does nothing, but a double press does what it would normally do. Onscreen buttons still work as expected. Works great.

Replacement keypad

I was browsing around and i found this...
http://www.cellulardr.com/TILTFUNCTIONKEYPAD.htm
Mine looks normal(?) like this:
http://www.intomobile.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/htc-kaiser-tytn-ii-1.jpg
The first link reminds me of my trinity, and i love the layout on that. now i wonder if the keypad is real, if its really for the kaiser, and if it comes with a remapped button pcb. if this a "mistake", it looks like an awesome mistake, and leads me to wonder if the keypad can be remapped to support this.
Any ideas?
It looks like it's from the Trinity or possibly a picture of the prototype Kaiser pad.
If that is the way the pad looks and the internal connector is the same shape and has the same pinnage as the Kaiser, it should be trivial to remap the buttons fucntions. Normally you can remap the phone and softkey buttons, but using AEbutton plus or another remapper should work a treat.

Slide out Keyboard repeat rate

The keys on my slide out keyboard are inconsistent in how hard you have to press and as a result I sometimes get repeat letters. Anybody know of a setting to adjust the repeat rate or just turn it off altogether? I found a registry entry HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\RepeatRate but have not tried adjusting it.
Have you tried the options in Settings>Personal>Buttons>Up/Down Control?
I've used them for the repeat rate and they work for me.
Thanks,
Dave
Hey that works. I thought those settings were just for the Dpad.
Anyone else notice that the keys don't have the same feel? The "h" key has almost no feedback and the space bar is really hard to press.

My F and A button are sometimes a bit hard to handle.
My keys are fine. The Spacebar is wierd though. The left part of it (under the V key) has almost no feedback. The middle side has some kind of double feedback. Only the right part of it (under the B key) is fine.

I spotted virtually the same thing with my space bar too.
Also, the space bar is just a tad too far left for me, nearly catch the '.' key all the time.

good question. I have that problem too.
well... not a real solution, but I've noticed, that if You write on hw keys with screen tilted, then it's less easy to press those two keys, as Your thumbs will have less space above them.

It true that when tilted that they are press less easy, still sometimes i press those keys. i almost always tilt the screen whem typing with hw keys.
Still it would be nice if there is an sollution for this.
AE Button Plus
I use AE Button Plus with no action assigned to a single press of the hardware soft keys (in other words, it ignores a single press of those keys). It affects the buttons in both portrait and landscape modes. If I need to access the single-press soft key function then I just need to press on the screen. I also have the single-press function mapped to a double-press of the hardware soft keys as an alternative.
lol....
And I was thinking I was the only one with that problem...
And got the same soluttion than you guys... tiliting the screens is not so easy to press those buttons

Question concerning the HTC TD2 keyboard

Hey folks,
I'm very, very new to installing new software on my HTC TD2, but I've been browsing a bit around on the web. Looking for a keyboard that actually works with my fingers. I really dislike those QWERTY keyboards, I simply want a 0-9 keyboard with buttons filling up like 50%+ of the screen, like some samsungs have! I just wanna be able to type while I'm walking and such, not always having to depend on my stylus,
I hope you people get what I mean and that someone could help me out
yfrog.com/efnaamloosqp
I crappy image which I've made with paint + touchpad, so don't mind the quality. Just to give an example
Thanks in advance people!
When typing, press the little arrow next to the keyboard icon at the bottom of your screen. Press phonepad
Hi!
Is it possible to install and use the original WM6.5 keyboard and input methods in conjunction with the EzInput 2.1 keyboards from HTC? Now the SIP selector only shows the HTC keyboards.
BTW: I'm using a cooked 6.5 (21891) ROM with manila 2.5.20113626.
Regards,
PK

Figured that one out already, but there are many 'useless' buttons like the: ' | " | and others which fill up way to much of the screen, I'm really looking for something that just mainly shows numbers in a size that makes it very easy to click them!
Just make the link as I posted it in my first post, as I made a little image to show what I mean ^^
