Ok mabey I'm thick.. but I'm trying to figure out if there is a way, so that when I receive text messages.. the phone vibrates but when the message is sent it does nothing...
when I am in the vibrate profile, and I go into the alerts section of settings of sounds.. I can find options for sent MMS message.. but nothing for changing alerts on sent text messages (SMS).
Is it possible to be alerted of incoming txt's and not have it vibrate three times every time I respond to someone?

Thanks! but is there any way in finding that one registry key to prevent installing more apps..
I love editing the registry and saving space.
If you open up the xml you'll be able to find it.
Here's the part in the xml that refers to the sms sent notification:
<tweak>
<title>Sent Notification</title>
<value default="default" disabled="disabled" value="0">Enabled</value>
<value value="1" advised="advised">Disabled</value>
<key mode="both" match="exists" action="delete" when="disabled">HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg</key>
<key when="enabled">HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg</key>
<description>Enable or disable the 'Text Message Sent' notification after sending an SMS or MMS.</description>
</tweak>
So...
Change "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSNoSentMsg" to 1
Regards,
Nika.
If you dont have that key, just create it
Noob here not to mention that this is an old post but I need to know. So I created a new folder for Settings since I didn't show it however when I create SMSNoSentMsg how is it supposed to be a DWORD, String, Multi string or Binary? Another question is did I spell it correctly SMSNoSentMsg

Hi cerebrosvictim,
If you don't have the setting folder I doubt it will work. What phone do you have? Maybe try to download KaiserTweak and use it? Or get AdvancedConfig (from Schaps). Both tools have the SMSNoSentMsg tweak in it and you should be able to use the interface easier than a registry editor

I tried finding the registry entry that was used in the Hermes WIKI on here but the folder to change the entry didn't exist! What should I do to remove the "SMS Sent" message! No point in seeing its sent if I'm going to get a message saying if it didn't send.
I just used tweaks 2k2 to do it (free trial for 3 uses, but that was really the main reason i put it on)
I couldn't find the reg entry either
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings] "SMSNoSentMsg"= dword:00000001 ->1 to disable
That keys not there. I even created the key in there but it didn't do any good, I still get the SMS message sent notification.

Then you did not create the key correctly.
Make sure you Create Settings in your Inbox folder. Inbox is there for sure.
Then in Settings create a DWORD, and set value to 1.
Tweaks 2k2 worked
and HTweakC_2.1b do this change to registry and lot of others.and is free !
you get an error message in kaiser when you open the programme but changing the settings, all the hacks that the programme change, stick there as good as in hermes
Hello :
Im trying the Tytn tweek and its not working on TYTN2.
Can you help ?
Thnks
try this i think it is what i used. if not i know there is a reg edit out the re that works cause i got rid of it on mine. it did take me a while cause i kept putting in the wring info. also soft reset for it to work.
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
full instructions:
Make the following adjustments to get rid of the "SMS Message Sent" popup that appears after sending a text!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
Name the New Key as "Settings"
Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled.
Thnks . It worked.
Half the time people say the answer for this lies in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. The other half say it is the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Right now I put the fix into both, and the result is that sometimes I get no notifications for sent messages, but unfortunately I also get no notifications for some things that I DO want notifications for, such as new SMSes being received.
Anyone else suffering from this?
You call install Tweak2k2.NET.These is a selection there to remove the SMS Sent Notification with no problems.I have tested it.
For some reason my mail icon on the HTC home screen occasionally launches SMS/MMS. It seems to happen only after I launch SMS using the text message button. Is there a way to make the mail icon permanently launch Outlook, and the text message icon permanently launch SMS, like it should work? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I have found a solution!!!
1 - Make sure the "E-Mail Sample" account is deleted out of your accounts.
*** NOTE: If you don't delete this account first, this fix won't work! Changing the registry key below won't work. The only thing you can do is hard reset. I found that out the hard way. At least that's how it worked for me.
2 - Make sure Outlook is set up to check your mail
3 - Using a registry editor, go to HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Home, and change "AlwaysOpenMailFolder" from 1 to 0.
Using the above solution, the Outlook icon should ALWAYS open Outlook, and the SMS icon should ALWAYS open SMS.
I had this issue when I disabled "Display account picker when opening Messaging".
If this is disabled I would suggest enabling it and seeing if you still have this problem, although I didn't suffer from this randomly occuring, mine always went through to SMS after disabling this.
The option is available in messaging under
Menu -> Tools -> Options

Yea, Ive tried that. The only problem is that if I re-enable that option, then I have to choose Outlook from the list. I just want to click the icon and go straight to Outlook e-mail.
Sorry Mike - I didn't mean to post in Kaiser Upgrading.
Anyone else have this same problem with the Outlook icon?
Same thing here
Running the HTC Rom. Does this work correctly for anyone, where you hit the Outlook button and it opens Outlook, and SMS/MMS opens the correct folder?

No, I seem to have the same issue.
I have seen this on all WM6 roms I have used on Hermes and Kaisers
So there's no way to force it to always open Outlook? There has to be a reg tweak or something. Maybe there is a way to change that icon's path so that it points to Outlook. If someone knew where that icon's path was stored, maybe we could look at it in Resco and see what it points to.
Anyone else have ideas?
I don't know how to fix it, but I can add this - it takes me to the account I last had open when I go to Messaging. So if I was last in the GMail account, that's where I land.
Yea that's true. But the design is just akward. I mean, the SMS icon ALWAYS takes you to SMS, without exception. But the Outlook icon just opens up the last messaging app you used? Weird. I need quick access to Outlook every time HTC!
Here, copy and paste this in notepad and make a new link the way you did the SMS one and it should take you to the outlook inbox. -
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "ActiveSync" -to "" -body ""

Great! I actually used:
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "ActiveSync"
because the whole thing was taking me to a new outlook message. By only using the above it takes me to the Outlook Inbox directly every time even if I had previously chosen SMS/MMS.
So, now the question is, how do I remap the Outlook icon on the home screen so that it uses this new path? Any ideas?

It's actually supposed to open a new email message, but so is the SMS one and it still only takes you to the inbox so I didn't figure it needed to be edited. Glad you figured out how to edit it though.

That I don't know, I don't even like the HTC home app so I never use it. I'm guessing it has an xml file somewhere that if you find it you'll be able to edit the icon to point to that link, but I could be wrong. Somewhere on here theres an app that will allow you to edit the look of HTC home, I think it's in the development and hacking forum in the top area of xda-devs (hopefully you understand where I mean) and you might try asking the developer of that app if he could help you change that, or at least tell you where you can change it and how to do it.
Yea, I messaged the developer and haven't heard back. Anyone have any other ideas on this?

jackjohnson or xeno1: Can a similar approach be used to get a "single click" shortcut on the today screen that opens a new, blank SMS? If so please provide just a bit more detail. I tried the procedure above just to see if I could get it to work and nothing I tried did anything. Thanks in advance.

I'm honestly not sure, but have you tried something like this?:
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "SMS" -to "" -body ""
or
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "MMS" -to "" -body ""
or some variation thereof?
No

Thanks for the tip. I have not tried it as I am unsure of the basic method. Do I copy an existing shortcut .lnk file and edit the location it goes to or do I make a text file with this content and then rename the file and extension.

You could do that. I personally just make a text file with this information in Notepad. Make sure to choose "Save As Type: All Files", and for the filename, make sure you end it with ".lnk". Then copy that file to your PPC (usually to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\" - which will show up in the programs list). From there, just tap it once and it should run.
Since you're a noob at shortcuts (as I am too), you may want to create a test shortcut that you KNOW works, like the one I made:
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "ActiveSync"
That should launch Outlook. This will just give you a feel for whether or not you've got the shortcut thing down. Once that works, you know you're doing it right. I only say to do this because if your shortcut is invalid, it usually won't do anything when you click it (no errors, nothing), so it's hard to tell if you got it wrong.
Also, I just did a search. I haven't looked at all these threads, but have you guys seen them? They are all related to SMS shortcuts. They may be able to help you all:

Ok, for you SMS shortcut guys, I tested this shortcut and it works. Turns out it was:
99#\Windows\tmail.exe -service "SMS" -to ""
You can create your own shortcut, or use the one I uploaded. You can rename the file to whatever you want (the shortcut filename is how it actually appears in the menu). If you stick it in "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs", then you can add it to Start Menu using the "Menus" control panel app, and it will always be right there when you want to do a new SMS.
Hi fellow forumers, I'm new here. Pardon me if this isn't the right place to post technical question.
Just got my Diamond for a couple of days. I've a problem that some Diamond-ers might face, and I can't seem to find the solution anywhere else.
By going to Message/Menu/Tools/Manage Folder...
I'm suppose to be able to select that option and create a new folder to store my smses by default. But, apparently, the said option is being disable (greyed out) for some unknown reason.
Does any kind souls here have solutions to this? Do I need to do tweaking to enable this?
I think if I am not wrong, WM6.1 SMS is default Threaded Mode, that is you see all sms from same person in 1 view. In threaded mode, you cannot create sub-folder.
Search in this forum, there is an apps which able to switch your sms between threaded and normal (not threaded and single sms like WM5 and WM6). This apps need .netcf v3.5. I think in normal mode, you can create sub-folder. After that you can switch it back to threaded mode.
Try and let us know.
Solution
Thanks CWKJ for your solution. As what you stated, the "manage folder..." option will not be available if it is in threaded sms mode.
I tweaked the registery to make it in normal sms mode and it is enabled.
Here is how it is done:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:1
Setting Value to 0 will give you normal SMS inbox
Setting Value to 1 will give you threaded SMS inbox
Viola. The option is enabled. Hope this help new Diamond users as well.
Cheerios!

With those settings you will stop the notification too. Use search for more advanced regsettings (I know they were posted in the Prophet WM6 section) or use ModeSMS.
You using Registry tweak.
Use the Apps as I have suggested. Search harder. Its somewhere in the forum.
I tried ModeSms, but the programme didn't work somehow as the programme screen was totally distorted.
I tried this method instead and it worked with notifications and disable threaded inbox.
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM\SMSInbox
ThreadingDisabled Value=0 (threaded) or 1 (single)

Hope this helped other users as well =)
Strange, I make a search from here, cannot find, but search via Google can direct me to here.
Search for "SMS Tweaker V1.5" you will find the working version.
Thanx for Help

to change it, i mean how to find registry...
I've used fixunreadcount.cab, tried turning off threaded messages and deleting from there, but nothing works! It says I have 1 unread SMS, when NOTHING IS IN ANY OF THEM. I am NOT going to hard reset, i put too much into this phone
might it be an MMS waiting to be downloaded?
Hey,
if you have a registry editor on your device, please check the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\State\Messages\sms\Unread]
You should find under it the following entry: "Count"
Try to set its value to dword:00000000 - afterwards exit the reg editor, open shortly another program to give the device time to correctly store the value, then soft reset your device.

I randomly have to fix this myself.. Sometimes I'll get a text message and it'll beep multiple times, as if I have multiple SMS, but when I read 'em I only find one, but the unread count is 2, so once I read it, it's still 1. Then I have to go in and edit that registry key.
Very annoying. I wonder if anyone has made a simple program that 0's out all of those unread keys to make 'fixing' this simple?
It is just not worth the effort to write a tiny little program for it.
Simply export your REGISTRY KEY once it is set to "0", then import it whenever it is needed ...
maybe U guys can look here...
