I'm really enjoying "tuning" my new Tilt using the various tricks/tweaks posted here but am struggling with one tweak that I'm hoping someone has some idea on how to do.
I noticed quite by accident that if you push the jog wheel (vs. rolling it up or down) while on a call it puts the call on hold (push it again and it takes it off hold). I personally never use the "hold" feature - instead I'd love to change that jog wheel action to mute the phone. Any ideas on how you can change the job wheel "push button" behaviour for the phone app to be "Mute" vs. "Hold"? Thanks!

Is it possible to program one of the hot keys to be a phone mute/unmute button, or is there a need to create an app?
I'll check out if I can make an app out of it tomorrow unless anyone posts anything different. I made a key lock app for the PTT soft button. I might make it mute your call if you're in a call or lock your phone if you're not. Anyway, lets hope it can be done without an app or with an app and you'll have it by tomorrow evening. Do you have the Tilt, Tytn, or Vario?
Thanks for your prompt response. I have an unlocked TYTN II.
You might not have a PushToTalk button. Got any of the other buttons in mind? You can map it to whatever, and I'll check it out tomorrow. See my first post titled "First Post / KeyLock" for my keylock app and a link on how to map the PTT button. Other buttons should be similarly mapped.
Would like to use the green phone button for this purpose.
I'm interested in this too (I swear I live on concalls for work right now). Either the green button or the ok button on the side of the phone. But I'm curious, will the phone have to be "on" (ie: not sleeping) for this to work? Currently I use the reTOUCHed dialer and just go to Call Status screen and tap the mute / unmute toggle on the screen to do this (which works well since they are bigger buttons than the default dialer on the Tilt). But having it mapped to a hardware button would be very nice.
Was there ever any progress on this? I'd like to assign the PTT button to mute/unmute during a call. I am constantly on conference calls and having to use the touchscreen to do this is ridiculous.
Hello
I am a new owner of an att tilt. I believe it is the same as the tytnII. I am looking for two cabs to install on my phone.
1) a cab that lets me assign a button to switch between vibrate, silent, and ring. I found vibra switch, but it does not include silent.
2) a cab or program that allows me to assign a call log feature to a button. I use the call log quite frequently on my old phone.
Thank you for anyone that can give a newbie a suggestion
Adam
both of those can easily be accessed without cabs.
1- if you have the htc home screen, just press on the symbol that looks like a phone with a music symbol beside it, and it'll give you the option of switching profiles
2- just click the green talk button and then press up on the dpad
want the button press
Thank you for the response.
I have not tried htc homescreen yet. It appears to have a large clock and a tab system of the today screen that I am not fond of. Am I able to leave the today screen basically like it is with that program?
Also I want to be able to map these functions to a button. The reason for this is for easy access while driving. I feel a button press and using the jog wheel is a lot more accurate and requires less attention.
Thank you

Hi, I'm new here and I apologize if my issue has already been dealt with. It sounds so simple: My new Kaiser is great. All I'm missing badly is the feature to change the ring/sound volume (if NOT in a call) with the jog wheel. Just like I could do with the slider of my good old charmer. I have tried HTC home and other tools but nothing is as easy to use with one hand than the hardwar slider/jog wheel. Is there any tweak or utility out there?
Thanks.
The Kaiser's jog wheel is interlocked with the up down D pad. Very few programs are able to have utilize the jog wheel and the dpad seperately. The only way I know of to use the jog wheel as volume is 1, download a program call wisvol.exe 2, make a shortcut to wisvol.exe in your program folder. 3, map the ptt button to wisvol.exe. When you want to raise or lower the volume, push the ptt button to bring up the volume slider then use the jog wheel to raise or lower the volume. When you're done, push the ptt button again to close the wisvol.exe

You should try Dutty's April 9th rom w/ SPB phone suite. The new rom allows you to silence incoming calls. When you are on a call and you want to lower the volume you can use the scroll wheel to lower the voices. It doesn't fully satisfy your needs but it will make it a little better for you.
Is it possible that someone can develop a simple app for legend, which would make the Home key and Back key act as call attend and call end button on legend?
Home key should only act as call attend while the call is incoming.
and back key should only act as end button while a call is incoming and when the call screen is still visible while on call.
Iam not exactly sure if there is already such an app, i've really tried looking and found none so far.
it would be just great if something like this is possible, there can be times when we just dont want to touch the screen, like while eating or with wet/dirty fingers.
The home button cannot be overridden IIRC. But it should be possible to remap the other ones. ask the creator of your phone app. I think designing a dialer/phone app just for button remapping is asking too much.
You can already use the power button to hang up, enable it in the accessibility setting (or is this cyanogenmod specific?).
Actually iam running stock ROM, I must admit i have not a single clue on how/if its possible. I don't deal with development, I was merely suggesting an idea for those who might be able to do it.
I didn't realize it would require a total rewrite of the dialer app, I was kind of under there impression that it could be possible through some lil hack.
The home button I mentioned was also a suggestion.
Welcome
I recently purchased android 10 auto head unit for my Toyota RAV4 2010
MCU : TS-G5.200630
The unit itself supports front and reverse camera ( 2 inputs )
of course Reverse camera comes up automatically after reverse gear
but in order to activate ( show on the screen ) front camera I need to go to unit press menu-then -F-Cam
very inconvenient ( not possible to add /change shortcut to home screen )
now my goal is to be able to activate F-cam by pressing assigned button on steering wheel
on the steering wheel control learning there is no option for F-cam only vol+ vol - pause etc , and its not possible to add custom button at least not from head unit operation.
There are 6 physical button on the radio but again there is no option to change their function ( there is no physical button learning )
How can I either add F-cam to steering wheel control learning
workaround for example assign F-cam to Mode ( physical button ) , :
then use Steering Wheel Control to assign Mode button to one pf the steering physical button
I am sure it is possible but I need help ,
I already talk to seller but he is unable to help
Thanks a lot

I've been trying to do the same thing on my AvinUSA android 10 auto head unit. I was sure I could find whatever app was used to show the front camera, but I haven't been able to find anything I can call from Tasker. I'm currently using Tasker with the Auto Input plugin to "tap" the screen. I created an application from a Tasker Task that goes to the Home page and clicks the "Applications" shortcut and then clicks the "Aux" shortcut there. That brings up the front camera on the AvinUSA unit. I haven't been able to figure out how to assign any hard buttons to it, so I used an app called "Vivid Navigation Gestures". It will let you assign a swipe from the edge towards the middle of the screen. So if I swipe from the left edge of the screen onto the screen, it pulls up the front camera.
There is one way you might be able to use a hard button. In my BMW, there is a "Navigation" button by the control wheel in front of the arm rest. I was able to assign that button to use Waze in AvinUSA factory settings. Then I set up Tasker to look for Waze to open and run a task that toggles split screen and opens my music app as well. Yours may not be able to do that, though. If it can, you could assign the button to open a GPS or Media app and have Tasker look for that and then go to the home screen and do whatever you need to get to the camera. Just a thought.
If you find a way to map the hard buttons on the steering wheel, etc., let me know. But I think we may be stuck just watching for whatever those buttons can already do and taking it from there.
Hope this helps. If you're not already familiar with Tasker, it may take you a while to get the hang of it. There's a pretty steep learning curve. Even if the things I mentioned don't work for you, they might give you some ideas. Good luck.
thanks

Thanks Tom
I will look into Tasker as I never experience with it .
Let you know about my finding.
I have also play a bit with FCC Launcher which is quite nice app , there is an option to assign F-Cam to steering wheel from that app ,but in my case it does not detect SWC buttons and I think its all to do with my radio Chip which is MTK 8257 and in my case there is only option to select MTK 8227 ,
have a try
