Best Screen protector, period.

I just got the javoedge no-glare screen protector and it is the best I have used.
I think that the zagg invisiblesheild is amazing and bulletproof, but has a terrible glare. The one from javoedge makes this phone usable during the day outside.

Outside Use
If it was mid-day, brightest sun you can get directly over head...when I try to use my phone, I jack up the brightness to 100%.
Then I would usually have to cover it with my hand, and still get very little ability to see the screen.

It's like impossible to scratch and the screen is perfect.
The main problem is glare / daytime usability. I'm ready to buy the one you suggested almost ASAP just for that.

How many do you get, just the one, I still might have to try this out it sounds better than my walmart ones.Wow might have to try them both.

I used the zagg one you have and love it for durability (I had the whole phone protector and loved it until it got gunky around the edges). The issue was glare; I couldn't see anything with it on.
With this you get one screen protector, but it is all you need. With the regular phone with no screen protector I could see about 40%, zagg 30%, this one somewhere around 75% or better (a noticeable increase, not perfect, but much much improved).
The problem with the walmart ones (and most others) is that you don't have the durability that zagg and this one does; with this one you can abuse the screen and still wipe them off with your finger for a perfect view.

I recently purchased the JAVOScreen anti-glare screen protector and enjoy the durability and fitment. However, I find it very hard to use in daylight.
Are you sure you purchased the anti-glare one?

I have been using Pocket PC Techs WriteShields for a long time now all the way back to my Ipaq 3650 days... long before my i700.
They are anti-glare and so dang durable that it is one of those products you just love to recommend. I have been given some other brands here and there along the years and those REALLY cemented my appreciation for the WriteShields. I play a LOT OF SOLITAIRE... like every time I go to the reading room (if you get my drift) and I always my fingernails... along with all my other PDA/phone use. I get around two years out of one of these and that includes just a ridiculous amount of abuse.
I have the same thing on my Tablet PC... it has been there since 2004 and I kid u not... it looks like brand new (obviously not as abused as the phones )

The best screen protector hands down for any device are the Anti Glare ones from www.Boxwave.com
they'll last forever, are washable, easy to apply, make the touch surface feel more paperlike which makes writing on it nicer, eliminates glare, doesn't show fingerprints... it's just awesome.
I have the on my Sony TG50, my Nintendo DS, and my xv6800. All are perfect.

Well, I have the Zagg invisibleSHIELD, and I like it, it just sucks in the sunlight. I'd like a better one for viewing outdoors, but after reading this post, I dont know what to get. Three to choose from...

You won't be dissapointed with Boxwave antiglare, trust me. I got my TG50 5 years ago now, and it was a great choice then, still is.

Just ordered the anti-glare from boxwave. we'll see how I like it when it gets here.

I would like to know as a few talk about this one. I use my phone outside and the sun and my screen don't mix with visibility.

Got the anti glare one from boxwave. It's got a lot of pros and not many cons.
Pros:
A dream to write on w/ the stylus.
Very easy to install, not one of those flimsy "rubbery" screen protectors, actually plastic and stiff.
Even if you do get a little dust under it, you cannot see it at all once it's installed.
No air bubbles whatsoever.
Very easy to wipe fingerprints off of.
They say it's removable and washable? I dunno about that, but if I ever have to do it, it's worth a shot I guess.
Cons:
Easier to read in the sunlight, but not near what the website hypes it up to be.
More pros than cons, overall I am very happy with it. I like it a lot better than the Zagg invisibleSHIELD.

Glad you liked it. I know I do. They are definetly removeable, and washable, but they are a bit tricky to remove. You must do so very carefully or you can risk bending them, or worse, removiing some of the adhesive which will be noticeable when it's reapplied. I've found to remove them, get them warm first with like a hairdryer to make it easier to remove, and then try to lift a corner with somethign very thin like a razor blade. To wash just rub it with mild dishsoap and water, and then flick it off like a poloroid. You can reapply it evenn with some water still on it.
In my expirence, not much reason to ever remove it. Just clean it while it's still on there.

I'll second the Boxwave screen protectors. I've had the same one on my phone since I got the phone at launch. I've taken it off once to clean it, and I have one very small scratch on it. Pretty impressive compared to other protectors I've used.

I have been meaning to get a screen protector. I am leaning towards Boxwave but last time I had an anti-glare, it made the screen a tad fuzzy. Hmmm....

I'm using the Boxwave Anti-Glare as well. The only issue I ran into is that I had to trim mine just a slight amount for my Mogul, the stock size actually fit under the case edges of the screen and caused my screen to not respond to touch. It does a great job of resisting fingerprints, and the paper feel when writing is definately a plus.

I swear by the Zagg products. It is true they are not that great in the sunlight. I usually crank my brightness but I have used the WriteShields before and they scratch after continue use. Play solitaire for a while and you will see the drag line from the deck to the stacks. Kind of annoying. Zagg will not scratch at all, guaranteed. Check out the Zagg videos on wrapping an iPod and then using a weed wacker on it.

Flimsy back cover

i just bought the diamond 2 today.. i must say, the out-of-the-box speeed is fantastic! but has anyone encountered the same problem as me : i feel that the back cover is a tad bit 'loose'. you can move it from left to right when u place 2 fingers at the sides of the back cover.
is it me or is it the phone?

Mine's tight, doesn't move at all.

No, i agree, my back cover it slightly loose, it moves slightly, but just enough to be noticeable...

My cover is on quite tightly. No movement at all.. May be I am one of the lucky one this time. Try puting a small piece of paper to see if it stops the movement. If it does, then yours is loose alright. I had to do that for my xperia ...

will they do a replacement for a flimsy back cover? the movement is very slight though.

mine is tight. I expect back covers will be the first things that become available from the like of cnn.cn, mobilefunshop.co.uk, etc.
I noticed that the locking mechanism is at the bottom. Maybe a sharp of paper will make it tight ??

Mine is tight as hell, too: I even have great difficulty removing it: the shiny finish makes it quite slippy and a lot of force has to be exerted to disengage the locking mechanism. I even installed a software reset, to much hassle to acces the little red button ;-)
Maybe the build tolerance is a little bit variable and you were unlucky? where was your D2 build? Taiwan, or China?

The back cover is very bad for everyone!
I hope that will be available soon to buy an alternative cover!
It would be nice to have it in metal or black leather.
I have no problem now with it but open the phone often for the SD card and soft reset I expect widening!

just got it like 3 days ago! im just worried that the problem might worsen over time?

I put a folded strip of paper between the battery and the backcover and it feels much sturdier now. Nevertheless the back cover is really ****ty, I swear I never seen such soft, thin and ugly piece of plastic before. Fortunately I like everything else on my D2.

My cover is completely firm, and my screen has no light leaks or gaps. I hope these are isolated issues being reported here. If your battery back is really nasty, then just swap it for another one, as it will reduce your enjoyment. Another advantage of this is that HTC monitors returns and will make changes to the manufacturing process based on issues. If there are no returns it will think everything is perfect!
In the UK we all get 14 days for returns.
I think the TD2 is the best non-keyboard phone at the moment, hopefully these are isolated incidents and will disappear over time!

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about and hope it's just a little movement you all are speaking of. Because if it is movemen like mine it is nothing really to complain about. The back to me feels solid and strong. The plastic is not flimsy. At the bottom the back moves a very little if you try to move it side to side. Mine moves less than, 1/4cm, a hair, an ants leg..... uhhh yeah. Pretty much nothing and you have to try to move it. Durring normal usage it is not noticable at all for me and doesn't move. The phone itself still feels solid despite having dust under the screen . I kinda wish it had a little bit more weight to it.

What do you think about an curved slider that also tilts like Touch Pro2...

Imagine an Xperia that could tilt it's screen at greater angles. This way you can keep your phone on a perfect desktop-viewing angle (slide and tilt) or on a perfect hands-on angle (slide only).
Would this be a good idea? Why not?

Lol no! I'm happy it's not there!
Firstly the mechanism for this tilt would be more easy to damage,
secondly for a small device like a mobile,
present angle is fine,
it's not a computer in size.

Great idea. I had hoped for such a slider for the X2 and always wanted that incorporated in a pocket pc device...
That would be perfect. TP2 shows that it can be as sturdy as any orher tilting tech and it is perfect for movies or reading (especially with a 4 inch screen).
As long as it is not fixed like the N97's and resembles TP2's variable tilt design, I'm in.

i agree with doministry on this one, im glad its not there, i remembered my x1 falling off my desk with the slide open, no damages encountered but just imagine what if it was a tilted mechanism...i think for a mobile the arc slider is unique and works just fine, why not beg Sony Ericsson for a deskstand/charger for the xperia like the p910,p990 and p1. i prefer one of those than a tilted screen
im sure the mechanism aint made from iron, so those tiny parts can be easily bent

if you damage your phone.... take note that sometimes its not just the build of the device that is fragile but the care of it that is lacking.

Please, drop the "will brake easily" argument. Have you held the TP2? It is as solid as the Moon.
It gives you more options and makes the phone more versatile, without compromising the quality of the device or the experience. An obvious choice, really.

Samsung flip cover, Some thoughts and mini review... On the fence? Read this

First off... The Good:
It seems to protect the screen really well, I like that I can put it in my pocket and not worry about the screen. Even though I carry just my phone in that pocket, I still manage to get scratches on a screen protector. I know the protectors scratch easier, but its still the only thing in there...
Its slim and does not add bulk to an already very large phone.
The lining helps keep fingerprints to a minimum.
It looks really good.
The Bad:
It only protects the screen... and only when in your pocket. It does not latch closed in any way, so if you drop the phone it can come open during the fall, or if you put it in a pocket or purse with other objects, they can work under the cover. Flat objects (say an MP3 player, would probably be fine)
The back and sides are not protected in any way, so some may not like that.
The Ugly:
Its designed all wrong... it is... Most of the worlds population is right handed, yet this cover is designed to best work for a left handed person. (and even the copies, and heck even the iPad "smart" cover do this)
As a right handed person, when I use my phone, I usually hold it in my left hand, and interact with the screen with my right hand... this is doubly true for this phone due to the stylus.
Even when using it one handed, the case flips open the wrong direction. It opens toward my thumb when holding it in my left hand. So instead of grabbing the phone, and using my thumb to just flip it open and let it hang there as I type out a quick text, IM, or other such actions, I must use both hands to open the cover.
I also keep my phone in my left front pocket, because it allows me to grab the phone with the hand that holds it the most, as I want my right hand free to do other things or to interact with the phone. If I kept the phone on my right side, this issue would admittingly be less a hassle, but I have other important things over there... My Space pen (as it is compact and slips in my key pocket easy) Keys... a pocket knife with a pocket clip... I even started carrying other things in my right pocket that normally went into the left, before phones became too large, and in-pocket slip cases with clips became extinct.
Think I am full of it or just complaining? If you have a flip cover, try this little experiment.
Put the phone down, cover closed, and pick it up with your left hand, and then open the cover.
Now put the phone down, and place it upside down (top of phone pointing down, so the screen is upside down when looking at it) so the cover opens to the other direction.
Pick the phone back up with your left hand and open the cover again.
See how much easier it is to manipulate?
Final thoughts:
I really want to like this thing... and I do in a lot of ways, but I will definitely need to spend a little time with it to see if I can overlook its major shortcoming.
Why Samsung didn't make two versions, one that opened each direction, I don't know...
They have some TPU style cases that include a flip cover, and the Note II is fairly symmetrical, so a little modification might allow one of those to be put on backwards, and then work as I want.

Returned the flip cover today... it just didn't work for me. If you like it and it works, good on you and stick with it.
I ordered a TPU case and will see how that does.
I am having issues with the larger size of this phone, one handed operation is not easy. Mostly it is getting to the back button, and the "send" button for messages. (as the enter button does not send) I may or may not be keeping the phone... we will see.

I always use my phone with my right hand, but I rarely use the stylus. Landscape keyboard typing is faster and I don't care to draw or hand write much. I'm surprised it doesn't have a way of staying shut - that really defeats the purpose of it.

I work aviation... and quite often I find myself crammed into small places working, and can't spare or get my right hand to my pockets (or where ever I placed the phone) very easily. Plus just general moving around about the house, I use my phones with my left hand. I like having my right hand free just in case I need to do something.

So far, I'm always holding the Note with my left hand, and writing with the s-pen with my right hand (or thumb typing in portrait with both hands).The flip cover makes sense to me as the edge of the cover isn't digging into my (left) palm when my left hand is cradling the phone.

That's a pretty good point. I bet a lot of people don't think about that before buying it.

I agree with the OP, but I have to say the stock flip case is the coolest case I have ever seen. It adds almost no bulk to the phone and protects the screen perfectly. I, and everyone who has seen mine, LOVE it.

I have one and can use it with right or left hand no problem, you just get use to it. It's not ideal for everything, but it's workable.
As for using the camera, I just let it hang down out the way for landscape and hold it out the way for portrait. The ability to use voice to take photos is a big plus here
I also have a ShockSock which protects the whole phone when I'm out and about.

I'm learning to use it... but I am still unsure.

This is probably the most intelligently written and concise review I have ever read, both on this forum or on an actual review by a professional.
I totally agree with the left hand using it as a right handed person. I just received mine about an hour ago and I love the look, but I think I will be selling it as I don't want to screw it up so I can say it is indeed new. What a shame really. And yes the camera becomes a big issue.
I do think I would tire of opening the cover constantly as well. To each their own.

I love the flip case. After just a few days I've gotten used to handling and have adjusted completely to it. It's just natural at this point.

I was set on getting one. I only wanted a case that matched the color of the phone. When I went to the AT&T store to buy one, the rep said most of what you said. And how it got on his nerves to have to flip it around to ever use the phone. He had a S III (man I wish the Note was available in that garnet red). I played with a display that had one, and while it was soft and seemed like it would help wipe finger prints off like my TouchPad case does, it did worry me about flipping it open each time.
Just finally got the Samsung TPU case and my vinyl sample today. I am liking the case. Not bad for $18 with the Samsung coupon. Really tight, snug, and doesn't impede the S-Pen. Not as rubbery as I thought, I was worried it would be rubbery and sticky in the pocket.
I'm still getting used to the idea of a phone that isn't naked. After all these years of phones I haven't used a case before this phone.

As phones have gotten larger and even heavier, clumsiness increases... having a slick feel and no texture increases this.
After using this thing a couple days... I really think a case with some shock protection is in order. So I ordered a matte clear TPU case, matte for a little extra grippiness... and the TPU is stiff but absorbs a lot of shock when dropped.

I use my phone with my left hand, pretty much 100%. As such, I knew the stock flip would be a problem for me. I looked high and large for a vertical flip, and the best I found was this one:

I have never been a fan of cases, but this thing is so large it is inviting danger, so I figured I'd give one a chance. I also dislike the rubber cases. I like clean, smooth, and easy to use without having to rethink my entire phone operation. I thought the flip at the bottom might get in the way, but I find myself holding the entire thing between my middle and little fingers, and I actually have better reach one handed now. I still don't keep it on all the time, but I won't leave home without it now. It does add some bulk, but it was the only vertical flip that had a latch that didn't add even more bulk. My wife laughed when I made a phone calk and let the flap just hang under the phone since it hung to my chest...the front has a squishier padding over the stiff inner piece, the back is much firmer. The flap actually stays shut, but I can flick it off with one finger and be using my phone, even when walking two puppies.
I'll put up some pics of it on my phone, once I find some time.

I like the looks of the flip case but functionally it hinders my use of the phone. First time some one called me I about dropped it trying to hold it appropriately up to my ear for talking.
And especially the price...I returned mine within a day.

Im right handed and always hold with my right hand. I have had the flip case on the last 3 devices ive had.. love it! Its not for everyone, but I think its awesome.. and for the record, im willing to bet if you started a poll, right handed ppl hold their note (or ANY phone) right handed and do other things with their left (im holding a cup of coffee right now). If you can thumb type real well with your left hand then you are probably not right handed.. the reason I say this is because I believe Sammy does their homework with things like this.. a righty holding with left is probably in the minority.

Tips on Adapting to a Huge Phone

Share your thoughts/tipsand tricks on how you use this beast on a daily. Being almost 6 inches in screen size, this thing isn't what I would call the most pocket able or friendly on a daily basis.

im 5'7", average size. have average sized hands. id never ever say that the phones too big. sure, it sounds big, but isnt. after several days of using it, my nexus 5 feels way to small now.

Hear hear @simms22, 2-3 days is enough for your hands and brain to get used to it

On the other end of the spectrum, I'm 6'8" and the phone looks like an iPhone 5 in my gigantic paws. However, I do use my little finger as a rest, under the phone while using it one-handed. I have no issues reaching any parts of the screen but the pinky finger underneath adds some stability.

To be fair, anything above 5,2 inch is almost juggling when trying to use it one handed unless you have Micheal Jordan hand size

Easy transition and has a comfortable feel. Most other device's now feel too small!

I'm 5'2 and have tiny hands, it took me about a day to get used to the size. I seriously forget the size of the phone until I put it in my pocket, that I cannot get used to for whatever reason. Also when I'm in the car and forget it doesn't fit in my cup holder lol The one handed part I don't really have issues unless whatever I'm trying to press is at the very top right part of the screen but I manage.

Using it one handed isn't an issue for me. I'm 6'7" and I wear XXL sized gloves. But it did take me a couple days to adjust to the new feel compared to my G3.
However, be careful when the phone is in your pocket and you're wearing shorts (especially athletic shorts) and your are sitting down. I've owned the phone for less than 3 weeks and it's already slid out of my pocket and hit the ground on multiple occasions (no damage fortunately).

I came from Note 4 and nexus 6 feels much better in the hand. I find my self sticking the phone in my jeans back pocket a lot and it works perfect. I even sat on it numerous times and this monster of a phone doesn't even care lol
When I'm at work (no jeans) I got used to carrying the phone. Otherwise, front pocket works just as good.

Mine is always holstered to my pants pocket, else I carry it in my hand for quick needs.
In the car, my Subaru has a sliding cover over the cupholder section before the center armrest, and my phone sits on top of that nicely.
In the supermarket, I keep the shopping list in my phone, which is quick to detach from the holster with one hand, unlock via the pattern with my thumb and see what's next on the list for nearby aisles (then, place it back in the holster). Usually one hand operation while the other is holding a shopping bag - if I have a cart, might use two hands for added convenience. I'm 5'11.5"
As most others mentioned above, it doesn't feel huge after a couple of days or so - frankly, everything else looks teeny, now. I can't see going smaller than this in the future, it's become a perfect size for my range of needs with it.
