I have an Kaiser, and I am still using the standard Orange UK ROM that ornage has shipped with the phone. (Why do they do that HTC invest in R&D for the phone and Orange destroy all there good work!)
I have got a problem with the sound output of the speakerphone. When ever I use the loud speaker it works for about 5-10 Secs then the sound stops. The only way to get it back is to kill the application that is using the sound functionality and then start it up again. This is really annoying when trying to listen to music or impossible to use the speakerphone as a hands free.
Has anyone on else encountered this issue? Any tips on how to resolve this? If not its going back to Orange!

I keep getting a crackling sound during calls, this is happening when using the phone with the normal mic/earpiece not when using the speakerphone. The other person does not hear it, today when it happened I turned to speaker phone and back to normal again and this stopped the crackling but isn't of course a solution. It can start at anytime during a call and so far the only way I've managed to stop it was by turning speaker on and off again but only done this once so can't say if it will work again.
I know about the speaker phone problems but is anyone else getting this problem when using the normal mic/earpiece?
Well I my Kaiser doesn't have this problem. It does, however, make a strange static sound sometimes after I end a call. But that's just weird, doesn't really bothers me.
Anyone else?
I am having quite an interesting problem with my Kaiser. Yesterday, after doing a hard reset on Dutty's new WM6.1 ROM, my external speaker seemed to have stopped working.
I can make calls, and hear the other party through the phone speaker, but I cannot hear my phone ring, mp3s, screen taps, or the speakphone. Basically, any sound that is supposed to come out of my external speaker does not work. Sometimes I hear crackling, and some faint distorted sound, but this last for 5 seconds, and then all sound stops. If I'm on a phone call, everything is ok and I can speak and hear whoever I am talking to, but the second I turn the speakerphone on, sound will stop or crackle then stop.
I did a hard reset, and got nothing. Reflashed the ROM, same problem. Flashed to a different radio, same problem. Then I flashed back to the original HTC ROM and radio, and still have the same problem.
Obviously, I am thinking its a hardware problem. Their weird thing is that I haven't dropped my phone or done anything different to it. It spent the entire day in my pocket. Since I'm in Canada and cannot purchase the phone here, I bought it from a third party through eBay and therefore do not have warranty. I will probably take it to a local phone repair shop tonight, but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem, or if anyone has any suggestions as to how to fix it.
Any help or input would be appreciated. Thanks a lot!
Bit worried by here.
My X1 is about 2 months old, and the speaker seems to have died.
The phone speaker works so I can talk to people etc. But the phone won't make any noise through the main speaker. So when I get a phone call, text, alarm, put someone on speakerphone etc: silence. Checked the settings and they are fine. Same happens with MP3 files. Yet if I put headphones in, I can hear sound through them fine. The phone doesn't think its in headphone mode either.
Tried flashing a couple of ROMS (went back to official too) and no luck.
Sounds to me like its a hardware issue. I'm hoping not though, as mobiles.co.uk doesn't seem to have the best reputation for customer service, and god knows what I would get as a replacement (since the X1 is now discontinued by the looks of it).
Any ideas?
Anyone have any idea?
I've had my AT&T banded N1 (with Rogers in Canada) for nearly 2 weeks now and I've been waiting to make sure everything works properly before I potentially give up my warranty by unlocking it. One thing that has been bugging me though is the call quality.
Everyone raves about how clear the call quality is on these things, but based on my phone I don't really agree. When no one is talking the line is dead silent (so silent that I almost think that the call has dropped), but when the other person begins to talk a light static or crackling background noise starts and once they finish talking it goes away and is completely silent again. If the static was there all the time I might not even notice it, but since it stops and starts during pauses in the conversation it really stands out. This happens on both the handset ear piece and with the headphones that came with the phone.
Has anyone else noticed this? If it's normal so be it, but if not then I might as well try and get it fixed before I do anything.
I don't have the at&t version but that does not sound normal.
Crackling is normally a sign of a speaker problem but I wouldn't think the headphones would also produce it.
seems i have the same issue...
i havent noticed any noise like this, but i will go test it and see if i have it too.
It's the speaker, for some reason the Nexus One comes with a slightly-too-loud speaker volume setting built in and you need to turn the incall volume down one notch from max. At least that solved my problem, hope this works for you!
have just called Google Tech Support and the guy suggested me to blow into the earphone couple of times and see if it helps
if not, do a hard reset
if not, call for warranty...
Since I get this noise in both the handset and ear phone speakers at all volumes I have to assume the problem is with my radio.
It's too much of a pain to get warranty work done outside of the US so I'm just going to learn to ignore it.
Hi everybody. I have the t mobile moto x 32gb on ATT. Works great ..the best phone no questions. I have an older car with aftermarket JVC unit with bluetooth capabilities inluding A2DP(which works great by the way) but the microphone of the JVC is not good so I don't use it for phone calls. I had that issue before where after the phone being connected to the car and disconnected (when I leave the car) the sound is super low it shows max but it is not(the moto x has great crisp and loud sound both on the earpiece and the speaker), so I have to restart the phone and this will fix my issue..but since I am not using it much I was ok with it...Now I have a 2010 Prius with blueetooth handsfree calling but no A2DP(that is ok with me I can use the AUX). The microphone on the Prius is great people are saying they hear me great and so do I. But now I am facing that issue again..
Is anyone familiar with that ? It is really annoying that I leave the car where I was in a conversation with great sound I lock my car and walk on a busy street and cant here what people are saying no matter if I am using the speakerphone or the earpiece..I have to tell them that will call them back in a minute after I restart my phone.
PLEASE HELP !
THANKS
Anything ?
Try persist+ from play?
Bluetooth volumes have been haunted ever since 4.4. Hell... plugging in the charger when I am on my vehicle's bluetooth changes the volume.
Hoping this finally get this fixed in 4.4.3, but until then, I have found a number of tricks.
1.) There is a sweet spot on the volume scale (around 70%) that is best to leave it at.
2.) I haven't had to restart my phone... usually just cycling BT off and on again restores original volume. Sometimes even starting/stopping media playback fixes it.
I can confirm to have the same problem. Hope it'll be solved in next updates.
