Can't get stereo bluetooth on Kaiser - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

My apologies in advance, for not being too bright, I come from a gene puddle, rather then the grander pool
I have a TytnII or MDA Vario 3 as it's called on the 3 network. I've just bought an sony ericson bluetooth stereo headphones model HBH-DS220. They pair up fine, but I only get quiet mono, in one ear piece. I found a registry tweak, but one of the listed values wasn't there and removing the other (bitpool?), makes no difference at all.
I saw another post talking about a cab being needed, but couldn't decide if that applied to this phone!
Can somebody point me to a link to fix this, thanks.
Please treat this as national sponser an idiot week and do this half-wit a favour!
Thanks in advance
Jim

Do you get stereo with your wired headset If so maybe your bluetooth headset is defective?
Surur

Have you tried the Jetware bluetooth extension, worked great on my HBH-DS980 and it added extra features to the headset

when it was paired what profiles did u see? i assume u saw wireless stereo and not just hands free. If you see wireless stereo just make sure its checked and then try the jetware solution

I am using two different models with BT Stereo and did not have a problem with connecting either. Make sure you have the "Wrieless Stereo" service shown and checked under the BT Connection Settings.

Nope, still no good!
Checked the setting and do have wireless stereo checked and have downloaded and installed jetware, rebooted the device and still get mono in one earpiece and it's quiet.
ANy other ideas?
Could somebody send me what is in their AD2P registry settings? I have a nasty feeling that it's somethig T-Mobile have messed up with the new phone!
Thanks for the rapis responces though. It's always nice to stumble on a forum with decent people in, there are so many out there that aren't as friendly...

I have just discoverd the same issue with my Plantronics bluetooth Stero Headset i.e. sound only in one earpiece. This occurs when using "Audible Player" (I don't know what happens with other audio programs). But TomTom Navigator gives me crystal clear Stereo output!! confusing eh?

BitPool 64
MaxSupportedBitPool 30
UseJointStereo 1
thats all i have in mine

Step-by-Step :All sounds to a Bluetooth Headset ?

Hi folks!
Is there some kind of step by step manual how to get to a working solution for the well known BlueAngel Problem with it's headset connections?
I found a thread talking about some registry tweaks, but that only enables the menu option to send the sounds to the headset, but finally doesn't produce any sounds...
What I want to have is the instructions, given by the Navigon Mobile Navigator 5 beeing transferred to a bluetooth device (a parrot free speach device or a logitech headset).
I am already running ROM 1.4 and tried all various BT versions, but nothing worked..
Thanks for your help,
Balu
err.. I am looking for using bluetooth headset to listen mp3 as well, any help and suggestions?
im trying to figure out how to do that aswell, (listen to media player using bluetooth on my SVP m2000)
me too is there any idea pls
same
You can listen mp3s if your headset supports advanced audio distribution profile and you have PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab installed. But if your "advanced" headset does not support old profiles - you would not be able to use it to listen phone calls.
You CANNOT listen MP3s on normal headsets that support headset and hansdfree profiles. To use these headsets you have to sell PDA2K and buy PDA2.

Can you please provide the list of BT headsets (with make / model numbers) that supports this "advanced audio distribution profile"
ht820 does the job!
I have Motorola HT820 on Orange M2000.
The HT820 supports Hands-Free and High Quality Audio profiles and you can playback audio in stereo via the headphones.
I upgraded the BT stack to 3900 and radio to 1.13 and added the extra profiles (instructions are in the Wiki), and it appears to work as both .
When the phone rings, WMP pauses and the left headset button answers the phone. Once you finish the call and hang up, WMP starts playback again.
The only problem that I still have is with intermittent dropout of the High Quality Audio. Anyone got any clues on curing this?
Got mine for around £60 UK sterling.
Is this an hardware limitation? Is this a ROM limitation? BT stack problem?
GSM phone preempting BT handfree?
If not HW, can we expect an upcoming solution to this?
Or, the only "hard" workaround is to plug a BT adapter (like Jabra A210) to redirect mike/spkr, and to desactivate BA BT.
Christmas tree, like.

Registry
Hi again.
So, we didn't really find a solution yet?
I once read something about a little change to the registry, so that a second profile for the normal BT Headset appears.
I searched but I can't find it again.
does anyone know which post I mean?
If so, can you give me a link to that, because I believe that is the right way to solve the problem...
the key is if your source (pda or notebook) is running BT audio gateway. centrino notebooks supports audio gateway. I have a Jabra BT800 and listens to MP3s played from an HP DV1000 notebook but cannot have it working through my XDA II mini (the latter does not support BT audio gateway)

BT sound quality (voice) on Kaiser

Anyone else the same experience? Contrary to almost every other WM device I have used in the past, the voice sound quality both on BT headsets and on parrot carkits is way below par. It sounds thin and metallic.
When using the speaker on the device itself (held up to your ear) the quality is excellent, so to me there is a major flaw in the the BT implementation on the Kaiser. The x7500 sounds way better, so it's not the OS itself.
Finally, someone else with good hearing
I have exactly the same issue. Even it's tolerable but is some situations it's very hard to hear the other party. Doesn't matter what headset I am using - Nokia BH 900, Jabra JX10 2 or Jawbone - they all sound thin. I really hope that there is something in registry that can be changed to resolve this. Or maybe a different DLL. In fact, this is the only complain that I have about Kaiser. I've tried this suggestions but none of them worked unfortunately.
Increase Audiogateway capability:
HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AudioGateway/Capability
(Dword:69)(Default is 37)
[I'm assuming this is a bitrate setting, but not sure how this differs from those above]
4-Change the Bluetooth channel from the default:
HKLM\Softare\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Device
From there open the subfolders and find those labeled channel. The DWORD key value is the channel number. Change the number to something other than the default.
[i've only tested up to channel 7 because I'm not sure how many channels there are. This seems to have improved issues with interference and intermittent drops, but these issues seem to have more to do with where the device is in relation to the headphones than anything else. You'll have to experiment to see what works best with your gear and environment.]
5-Increase the Bluetooth microphone sensitivity:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\Mic Volume
(DWORD:10)(Default:5)
6-Increase Bluetooth earpiece volume:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\Spk Volume
(DWORD:10)(Default:5)
[again experiment to see what works best with your headset and environment]

Ouch. Just came out of an escalation meeting for which I was forced to use the TyTN II for almost an hour over my Sony Ericsson HBH pv705 headset, and I have to rephrase my first post.
The audio quality is leaves not just a bit to be desired, it is just blatantly bad!
That, I feel, is the only *real* letdown of the TyTN II
Have exactly the same issue here. Was using it today in the car using the Mercedes bluetooth kit, and the sound was very thin and tinny. On my Hermes the sound was full and fine.
It's like listening to one of those shortwave type radios
OK. Now we have to determine is that :
Hardware issue
or
Software issue.
I've briefly used one of the preproduction units back in June and as far as I remember BT was OK. But I can't be sure 100%.
Anyone still using pre-pro units? Please, check how BT headset sounds like.
I really, really hope that this is software issue. Otherwise I am afraid that I am not going be able to keep the unit .
Sorry to put this into the mix but I have actually superior sound quality using a Parrott Car Kit and a Motorola Stereo Headset as compared to previously using these devices with my Hermes device with the newer WM6 ROM's.
I have made no changes but just wanted to share my experience.

It's probably due the fact that car kit has already plenty of bass and stereo headset is using a2dp. My stereo BT headset sounds good as well.
Handset itself sounds good, wired handset sounds good. Again, I really hope that there is a way to change something in software that will fix this problem. i guess, we have to wait until device is in more hands and some hackers will find the way
In that case, my second addition to the mix to counter yours. Aside from my SE PV705 I also have a Parrot carkit (3200 LS-Color) and I have the same poor audio quality over bluetooth ...
bt
same here ,i paired it with my car and it's worthless..i can hear the person but they can't hear me.this the worst bluetooth phone ever.

We are not talking about stereo A2DP quality. Again, stereo BT sounds very good to me as well.
nono - this is simlpy the voice call quality through these headphones - not using the A2DPprotocol - just headset protocol.

I use the Sony MEX-5000BT headunit in my car in handsfree mode. I've used it with both the Kaiser & Wizard, and I can't tell any difference in sound quality between the two phones in handsfree mode.
A2DP is a different story -- the Kaiser is much better.
I'm having the same BT issues with my phone. Voice quality on my original TyTN was great through BT. But with the TyTN II, it is sub par.
OK, this is rally confusing. As far as i know all units have the same ROM/Radio builds. Or are they?
Let's start to put numbers:
Mine
ROM 1.56.405.5
Radio 1.27.12.11
protocol 22.45.88.07H
BT is too quiet and tin.

What type of device you have been using previously?
When you switch from handset to BT headset on the fly do you hear difference in voice quality? Doesn't seems like BT headset doesn't have the same frequency range as a handset?

Software from Kaiser to Stereo Car

As long as your "Car Stereo" has bluetooth and you connect to it as you would to a head set or anything else really.. I have a Sony MEX-BT2500 and pair my phone with the radio with no problems and then anything that plays or any sounds on my HTC will go through the stereo.
So really there is no other software needed on the Kaiser, just need a bluetooth enabled car stereo.
Hope this is what your talking about..
I dont have a BT stereo however I do have a Parrott CK3100 connected to my stock BMW stereo, can I play music through that?
You can, but because it isn't a2dp, it wouldn't be stereo. It probably wont sound all that well, either. I have a Premier FH-800BT head unit and that works wonders, especially if you need a double-din radio to replace stock. Might want to look into something along those lines if you want quality audio from your BT phone. The 3100 is probably just bit too old to be what you would like it to be.
Hope that helps,
Colin

Help using bluetooth headset with xperia x1

Hi, i have spent some time searching now and since i couldn't find this anywhere i decided to post here, hope someone can help me.
Recently, i bought the official sony playstation 3 bluetooth headset (http://www.us.playstation.com/PS3/Accessories/SCPH-98095) and i have connected it to my xperia x1 through bluetooth (running with itje's touch-it xperience v13.2), the problem is, it only outputs sound for the voice calls, i can't listen to music on it or the normal phone sounds. I know it would be mono sound and not high quality, but i would like to listen to the sound anyway sometimes because its better then leaving it silent.
i have tried in the bluetooth configuration window, clicking in advanced, editing the wireless device profile, thre it was marked hands-free, i clicked refresh and headset appeared, i marked it, then the headset disconnects. when i reconnect it, it auto demarks headset, or it doesnt connect.
I have looked around to see if it was the bluetooth headset problem, but i have not seen anyone else complaining about this or even mentioning it can't play the phone sounds (just some complains about the ps3 sounds not outputing but thats the ps3 fault), and i have also searched to see if it is x1s fault but haven't managed to find an answer as well, so if anyone can plz help i would really appreciate it. Thanks.
thats pretty much because its no BUG.
what u want is a a2dp headset. something tells me that the ps3 headset doesn has this feature. normal headset just route voice calls while a2dp headset route everything.
actually, i didnt use the word bug because i though that might be the case
it has the headset and handsfree profile, not a2dp, but what i wasnt sure if it really needed to have de a2dp profile to output normal sounds, from what i've read it seems it is needed to output stereo high quality sounds, but just sounds with low quality would work for me, thats why im asking, i though the headset profile would be enough for that.
so if i get your message right, unless it has specifically the a2dp profile, there is no other way of making the sound output on the headset, low or high quality?
now i know there might be a way to make it work.
i was listening to some music today using the music player that comes with touchflo 3d, then i pressed the talk button of my bluetooth headset to issue a voice command (with the microsoft voice command program), then the music started playing in my headset while it was waiting for the voice command, once it got the command the music went back to the phone.
Does anyone know any way to make my headset keep playing the sounds, or could at least explain what happens when i press the talk button so i have an idea of where to look to see if find a way?
no one can help me with this? not any tip or a way to select a different output for audio or anything like that?
Also an issue with Audio Gateway
I have tested this issue on two seperate headsets, and so far can get the Xperia to work ONLY as hands free. Seperate phones sperate headsets. The other phone pushed audio thru to the headset whereas the X1 only routes calls.
I also cant find much of this on XDA or anywhere else?
Help?
Regards
i used an ad2p software downloaded from here when i had this issue with my lg ks20. But i havent the gut or im just lazy to try this app on the x1. Maybe u should give that ad2p software a try.
