Hi,
Anyone can suggest a very good car cradle/holder for Kaiser?
The one that has power connector of course.
I cant use my old cradle (I used it with the Magician) because the usb power location is different (opposite).
you could always face the phone in the other direction...
I have always been very impressed with the powered holders from:
http://www.proclipusa.com
I have already asked them about the Kaiser, and they confirmed they are making one, it just isn't available yet.

Looks like ProClip is ready to go for the Tilt
robroy90,
The Tilt now appears in Proclip's device selector.

Yes, and it has been listed for several weeks. But after you place the order, you will see that it is backordered. I ordered mine over 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped.
In spite of this, I have always liked my proclip holsters and holders.
I ordered one last week and it is due to be delivered on Wednesday. I've owned 4 other proclip device mounts and 3 car mounts, and have loved all of them. If you've never used a proclip mount, it will probably cost you $90-100 or so for the device mount and car mount combined. Their car mounts are pretty slick also.

I ordered and received my ProClip about a month ago, and absolutely love it. I will say that it does take a little getting used to sliding it in. Since the Tilt sits forward in the clip (gap behind the Tilt) so that the keyboard can slide, it can be a bit of a trick in the beginning figuring out just how to slide it in, especially when doing it without looking. But now, I can slide it in without looking, and have no issues at all.
For those looking for a cheap solution, the Kaiser is actually slim enough to fit into most cellphone vent mounts, if you trim the cushions a little bit. That solution is also less obtrusive and less likely to get your car broken into.

Can anyone recommend a windscreen mount that would meet my following requirements?
1. Must hold the HD2 securely (goes without saying) - but doesn't have to be specifically designed for the HD2
2. Under or around £10 (can't afford those £40-£60 'official' things!)
3. Must not block camera lens as I wish to record some of my journeys
4. Can swivel portrait/landscape without removing
I have found a fair view that 'might' meet these requirements but I'd like to know for sure.
- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AIO-PREMIUM-C...ries_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item2304e852d0 <--- this looks decent but I can't work out whether it blocks the lens or not??
(some more but I've lost the urls - loads on DX to choose from)
Any help's much appreciated!
Hi, I bought this one on eBay:
WINDSCREEN SUCTION CAR HOLDER & CHARGER FOR HTC HD2 LEO, the company is "e-Cell"
It arrived yesterday and it works the way you want it to - there is a hole for the camera lens, but not for the LEDs, and it swivels all the way round.
It costs £7.85, with free P & P, and includes a cigarette lighter power supply (which I haven't used yet).
I hope this helps.
EDIT: I checked and the item is no longer listed - perhaps they're out of stock.
Thanks John, I managed to find the one you're referring to via Google but as you say it's sold out: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200433261802
It looks very similar to the ones being sold by DX for other devices (currently none on DX for HD2), e.g.
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.18225
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22814
It looks decent - how easy is it to put your HD2 into and remove it from the holder?
I've also found this super cheap universal one on DX: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.23565
...which allows full swiveling and most likely the top of the HD2 (camera, flash) would stick out from the holder making it accessible for filming. I may order this one as I can always give it to a friend if it doesn't work out, though I'm def still interested in more stuff like your link.
Cheers
The Capdase Car Mount will work.
Try E-CELL on E-bay. I bought mine there, it is a veryy good holder for the HD2 and cost app. 8 pounds.
Search ebay for this "Holder Mount USB Car Charger For HTC Touch HD2 Leo 100". Has opening for camera and holds phone in landscape which is good for copilot.
Hi,
This is for the e-Cell model:
If you imagine the phone in the landscape position, with the five buttons to the right, the phone slots into two grips left and right, at the bottom. These are fixed and don't move, but at the top, in the centre of the phone holder is another clip that flexes to allow the insertion and removal of the phone. This piece of plastic then clips onto a standard flexible arm windscreen mount, which in turn fixes to the windscreen with a suction cup. There is a ball joint on the back of the phone clip, which, when you've found your best position, can be tightened to lock the mount so that it will not move.
I've only used mine a couple of times and it's relatively easy to put in and remove the phone, perhaps a bit stiff at first, and I've found it easier to fit the phone into the holder first and then attach the complete assembly to the windscreen. It seems to work OK, so it may be worth waiting for e-Cell to get new stock, particularly as you also get a cigarette lighter charger, and it's only £7.85 with free postage.
This looks similar to the e-Cell model:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/car-pack-for-the-htc-hd2-p23420.htm but they're sold out too! The joint on this looks more sophisticated, but it's more than twice as expensive. There seems to be a hole for the lens, but the picture isn't very clear.
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280435698894&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
mine, cheapest and camera effective, even if I'd prefer a joint-like arm instead of the one it's got
Hi Ephestione,
It's a pity we can't combine the best features of all the mounts. For instance, mine doesn't have the cushioned grips, so I'll have to be careful not to scratch the phone with the rigid clips.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Charger-Mount-Kit-Holder-for-HTC-Touch-HD-2-T8585_W0QQitemZ390175231504QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_MobilePhones_MobilePhoneAccessories_MobilePhoneBatteries?hash=item5ad8418e10
this one is available, exacly the same as ecell one, but will come "out of the box", and comes with a charger too. this seller also got the 1600mah andida battery.
for recording purpose, another good point is its having a strong and quite short metal neck that won't take cars vibrations as a long neck/flexible one would. definitely would recomend it.
Hi,
Yes, this is the same as the e-Cell item, and it works well. I paid a bit more because I was impatient and e-Cell seem to be UK based, so delivery was quicker. Some comments I found when I googled the holder questioned the location of the company, but I had no problems. I'll check out the battery, thanks.
I bought this and it will suit ur needs.
Hey Guys check this out:

Rick
HD2's Dimensions:
120.5 x 67 x 11 mm
Keyboard's Dimensions:
115 x 60 x 7 mm
Hmmm, that's pretty tempting. If somebody made a case that would hold both without adding alot more bulk, I'd be sold.
Or in Silver:
http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/mini-bluetooth-keyboard-for-smartphones/
Nice find I may have to jump on that one.
Are those two products the same, only a different color?
They look different to me.
If anyone here has tried one, and could review it, please do so.
Freedom Input also had a small BT thumboard like that, which you can see at:
http://www.freedominput.com/technical-support/technical-support/slim-keypad
However, it is now only listed under tech support, not under products, so it may have been discontinued. They still may be available at some places, however. I think more expensive though, than the two listed earlier in this thread.
I really would like to hear how those have worked for people.
Of course, that kind of very small phone size thumb boards do not cover the whole subject of external BT keyboards. More common are the full-size fold-up BT keyboards. Not for a shirt or pants pocket, but can fit in a coat pocket. Also not to use holding in your hand, but to fold out on a table. So, completely different usage--but is like typing on a normal computer keyboard. Freedom Input makes a couple models of those. Stowaway (Think Outside, later Igo) brand had a couple different models (now discontinued, but probably still avaialble), HP used to make one, I think there are others as welll.
However, I'm interested in finding out about those small thumb boards now. I have an HD2 on the way, and am not used to all-touch. Until I get used to touch screen typing, I might like to have a physical keyboard as well. (I already have the large size fold-up BT keyboard, but I think the small pocketable thumb board type could come in handy, if they are any good.)
If anyone here could review any of those, I would appreciate it.
I found one review of the Chinavision product here on XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=704310
Not very encouraging.
Anyone else?

PS Found another thread on XDA, with more reviews of it:

Sounds kind of iffy, especially if ordering from China and hard to return. Even at $25, I wouldn't want to throw that money away. If possible to order from here, with full refund if unhappy with it, possible.
Haven't yet seen reviews of the first one mentioned, dilyeo (?) ? Anyone?
One thing I don't see mentioned, that I think would be important, a necessity. An on-off key, that would not turn on by accident, in one's pocket. For one thing, not to use up the battery too quick, but also, if in your pocket, turned on, no case, it could be inputting characters in your phone, that you don't want.
For that matter, even with an on-off switch, some kind of hard flip cover sure would be nice, to protect the keyboard when in the pocket.
Look at the following page at brando.com:
http://usb.brando.com/usb-keyboard_c034d015
They offer more different kinds of those small bt thumbboards, than I have ever seen. Of course, the question still is--are they any good? They even have some with touchpads (such as on a laptop, to function as a mouse), etc.
This one looks a lot like the chinavision one mentioned, perhaps it is the same, perhaps not: http://usb.brando.com/slim-bluetooth-keyboard_p01591c034d015.html
another similar one: http://usb.brando.com/mini-plam-size-bluetooth-keyboard_p01651c034d015.html
"Plam-sized", eh?
This one looks interesting, it does have a flip cover:
http://usb.brando.com/palm-size-bluetooth-keyboard_p01307c034d015.html
Brando is in Hong Kong though, so again, difficult to return. Anyone ordered from them? Anyone tried any of these keyboards?
Anyone here tried one of these small pocketable handheld BT keyboards?
If so, your review?
I have the Stowaway (Think Outside, later Igo} Key board & mouse that that I purchase years ago for my dell axim51v which work great .It work on the palmtreo I think work on wing . I figure it work Htc D2 which I had since April . But bad news I get error mes. problem with blue thooth version .So be careful if you purchase make sure it compatable.I have not pusue any other options except zagg stylus. I would sure love to use the mouse and key board.
I'm using the Apple BT keyboard, works great except the arrow keys have some issues. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC184LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA1Mg&mco=MTMzNzg5MDM
Price is pretty decent too. Don't know if the trackpad they sell would work but from my experience with mice I'd say not.

The Stowaway BT Keyboard works just fine with the HD2. I have one. You don't need the Stowaway drivers, it works fine with the HD2 HID service.
But yes, the Stowaway mouse does not work on the HD2.
In any case, this thread is not primarily about the large fold-up full size keyboards like the Stowaway. If you read the previous posts, it is mostly a discussion of the small palm-sized BT keyboards (or thumbboards).
I dont seem to find it anywhere... there must be somehow to hold this device in the car, when using as GPS....
I already have the charger, but finding a suitable car holder is a pain!!!
The ones you find (not original ones) usually mess around with some of the side buttons, like the cammera..... leaving them pressed alll the time......
Any suggestions?
Thanks!!!
Try this one from Nokia 5800 (original). I bought it and it fits very well. It's solid and very cheap (you can find it on ebay for something about 6 EUR). Only sometimes holder is pressing the volume down button but a quick regulation of phone solves this problem. As I said, I'm very pleased of this solution. I bought mine in Poland for 4 EUR.
I use one I got with my Nokia E52 (original car holder) and it's fits perfectly.
The easies way is to go to the nearest shop and try a few holders ourselfs, instead of buying one via Internet form someone who's claiming that it will fit.
So I've decided to make one thread for All HD2 Accessories.
The idea is for users to list or suggest some of the best accessories you've owned and used during your time with your HTC and give a brief recommendation.
Car chargers, cases, screen protectors etc.
If an existing thread of this nature already exists - I apologize, my intention was not to create another needless one.
Please just simply re-direct me to it by the link of the preexisting one and close off this one - No hard feelings...
I think it's a better idea for a thread than the stickied film protector that sucks.
Anyway, my recommendation is the Otterbox Defender Case

Same. I'm pretty tall so the size doesn't bother me at all. If I were tiny then I could imagine the extra weight might be annoying, but I enjoy having the ability to clip it quickly to the holster. I'm also now really fast at removing it from the case in order to get to the microSD card to load up android builds directly to the card.
PS3 Controller, better and cheaper then most bluetooth pads.
In car holder, I use a cheap chinese one works fine.
THB bury bluetooth connection / HUD, good in car, read your messages/call lists/make calls/contacts ect.
here is my suggestion...
I got the first Hard Gel-case that was available and did not quite like it because it was not really perfect fit. Than at one occasion I've read I think here at XDA a post that was pointing towards this case (pics attached along with ebay item number) that was really good good fit for tmobile US HD2s ... and - ordered, and have it since... the best fit so far and serves me well.
ebay item number is: 330485183615
Hi,
Would you kind forumers give me some good suggestions on possible physical keyboard accessories that fits the HTC HD2 on an Android ROM?
I have been looking at a few and am still looking. I bought an old Freedom Pro Keyboard and found it a bit unstable to use (keys not registering certain presses). So please recommend what you are using if possible. Thank you!
My phone never leaves it's £3.99 Wallet home!
I'm already on my second one (I decided to replace it after six months as it was getting tatty, and at this price I can't complain). What's great is that it serves my need as a wallet, keeps all my valuables together, adds little bulk to the device (in the sense that it's also your wallet ), and my phone looks as good as new despite my occasional clumsy droppage. Definitely a must-have for me.
While on eBay I just saw a smarter one for £9,99 which I'm a little tempted by...
My DREAM accessory would be a genuine, larger-capacity, same physical-size battery, ah but we can only dream...
So after watching a couple reviews, I'm liking the otterbox defender case and I'm giving it some consideration... Just thought I drop a line, see if any feedback is given on this (positive or negative)
1. mugen 2600 mAh extended battery (must have...GET ONE !!!)
2. skull candy ear buds nice and loud for 13 bucks on sale!
3. 2 16gb's + 1 8gb for music
4. zagg screen protector
5. when not using the extended battery i use a thin rubberized 1 piece hard case mine is actually navy blue not black
Otterbox Defender..a must have for my work. very tough but makes the screen a little less sensitive, a small price to pay for good protection, i wish it was a little more dust and waterproof though.
HTC Oem flip case simple, cheap and works well
Desk Genie Non-Slip Charging Desk Stand..brilliant love this stand, again cheap but works well, bought this for my TP2 and still using it
Vikuiti (TM) DQC-160 best screen protector ive ever used, easy to install, would buy another if ever i needed to but 6 months and so far i dont!
Andida "1600" battery, so cheap i dont care if its 1200, good enough for a spare.
Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones...Old school but work flawlessly
IO Play bluetooth music streaming car kit...got mine for £60, pairs first time evertime, good voice quality and full A2DP, which is more than ive heard said for more expensive alternatives of the feathery kind!
HTC Car holder i got free with my TP2..tight but just fits
If i didnt really need to use the Defender everyday, I would have bought and extended battery, probably the offical one, but hey...
I'm looking for a soft rubber case like the case I have for my i900 Omnia.
I've just ordered an HD2 and I find this sort of case is ideal for satnav because I change cars a lot and I can plug the charger in and the phone lies flat on top of the dash without sliding off.
I haven't got the time or space to carry a proper cradle, but this works just fine.
It's made of soft, stretchy rubber a bit like the inner tube out of a tyre, with some texturing on the back which helps it grip - does anyone know what I am trying to describe?
my pocket.
^ What he said + Vikuiti (TM) screen protector.
I know I'm going to regret asking this but who or what is "my pocket" apart from the bleeding obvious?
Music Bluetooth headset
My recommendation is Bluetooth music headset ''MW600'' from Sony ericsson.
Its also been called or well it is a officially accesiore for the Sony ericsson Aino.
Cant remember and find the exact typenumber that the MW600 have for the Aino, so its has 2 type numbers.
