Anyone else having this problem? I can't download my free map. It goes to the download page where there's a code to buy discounted maps. But than I get an error saying "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later."
Could be a hidden proxy issue. Try changing your data connection over to "My ISP" if you have AT&T pda connect plan. Otherwise, disable the hidden proxy using the cab located in the cabs sticky thread in this forum.
Thanks disabling the proxy work.

I believe this was brought up before but I couldn't find it. Now that more users in the US are getting there hands on the Kaiser, has anyone found the correct settings to access the MediaNet homepage. I know the normal connections work great for surfing and email. I was just curious. I know the only thing the medianet page will get me is local info, account information and at&t junk such as songs and ringtones. Just wondering.
Thanks
You can access the MediaNet homepage, no problem. Your data connection should be setup to access [email protected] (username), with a password of CINGULAR1. Then, in proxy settings, if you use the proxy wireless.cingular.com, you'll be able to get to the MediaNet homepage.
I did, however, find that TomTom 6 was not able to connect to its plus services unless I disabled the proxy.
Thanks for the info, it worked. Once I got in, I noticed I wasn't missing anything with the MediaNet home page.
At least I know I can do it now. Thanks Again
Hello all,
I just got my Tilt unlocked and seem to be running into a few issues. I setup the WAP settings according to this http://forums.wireless.att.com/cng/...thread.id=38077&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
I am get web access in apps like Windows Live, but internet explorer gives me an error that it can't find the page. I ran the disable proxy application built in the att rom and now i get to "connecting..." "locating..." then I get an error message that says "the page cannot be displayed or the downloaded because the connection was lost. check the connection and try again later."
Before I ran the disable proxy I would get a 0x80088000 error msg in pocket internet explorer...
Google maps does not seem to want to download data either...
Full signal and connection works fine on my blackjack... (3G)
Ideas?
I noticed in my old blackjack that inside IE theres an option to chose connection settings. My tilt does not have this?
Any work arounds? SHould I flash to the HTC firmware?
had the same problem...ignored all the settings info and just entered in proxy for the apn and everything worked fine...try it out. ridiculous that the best settings were no settings!!
Info:
- HTC Diamond US Version 3G/Quadband
- AT&T Sim card w/ active data plan
Problem:
- Cannot connect to internet. Exchange server does not sync.
When I try to go to say google within Opera or IE it does not connect. Opera gives me this red screen saying unable to access network.
I am however able to use the phone and send/receive text messages.
Troubleshooting:
- Called HTC, no help
- Called AT&T, don't support the phone, no help
- Best Buy sells the phone so I went in there, no help.
- Went to an AT&T store, no help
- Search function within this forum didnt reveal anything.
- I did take my SIM and try it in another HTC Diamond and same thing. So I am ruling out the phone being the problem.
Note: this SIM card works like a charm in my Samsung Blackjack2 and my Jailbroken iPhone.
PLEASE somebody help me!!!
I am pretty tech savvy and have been searching the net for 2 days.
If you need more info, please ask. Could be a data connection settings that i need to manual input?

Help us out. What are your internet settings? Did you run the setup wizard for AT&T?
I inserted the SIM, followed instructions, set it up to autmatically detect AT&T settings.
I sets up the connection as Media Net which i believe is right.
I actually just had my first advance. I was able to get internet by removing the proxy server from the Media Net connection.
So internet is solved. Just trying to figure out how to sync with my exchange. Which i have done with other phone a dozen times with no problems (so i know my user name, pass, domain and stuff are accurate)
What else do you need to know.
Every setting
I read this in another thread:
I tried the connection wizard and couldn't get online. I deleted the connection and manually setup a connection called Cingular GPRS:
Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
wap.cingular
User: [email protected]
PW: CINGULAR1
That's it. No domain or advanced server settings.
that enabled internet for me. not able to sync my exchange server still. small chance it could be something small i am doing wrong.
Where can I locate "edit account setup"???
taken from this -
For e-mail, you have to edit the "Advanced Server Settings" under "Edit Account Setup". There is a drop down box "Network Connection." I believe it defaults to "The Internet" which never works for me. You can either change it to Media Net or a custom connection if you make your own.
YouTube doesn't work with the Media Net connection because of the proxy. You can either disable the proxy in the Media Net connection or create a new connection that has the proxy disabled. I usually do option 2 and create a "No Proxy" connection that is identical to Media Net except no proxy. (I like to leave the Media Net w/Proxy just in case I need to access some AT&T thing.) I then set all apps to use the "No Proxy" connection (mail, MMS, etc)
Problem Solved.
Solution:
Once you insert the SIM and follow the setup. NOTE: the setup provided for Media Net is not correct. Follow my steps in post #5 by deleting the Media net and making your own.
Once this is done, then you will have access to the internet. Then you can setup your email exchange.
If you setup your email exchange first, it will not work. Follow steps in Post #5 then go back and erase your mail account. Start a new account and bingo.
Hope this helps some newbies like me.

I have a Tilt that is unlocked and on T-mobile. I enabled AGPS. When I get into Google maps it will connect to the internet on my data plan to download the Google maps using the data connection "T-Mobile Data" (just like normal). However, when I enable the "Use GPS" option in Google Maps, it disconnects from "T-Mobile Data" and connects to "T-Mobile WMobile Link". The problem is I don't get internet on "T-Mobile WMobile Link" so the AGPS can't get whatever data it may be trying to access. I tried this on Windows Live Search as well to make sure it wasn't a Google Maps issue and I experienced the same problem. I tried to delete "T-Mobile WMobile Link" and could not find the data connection. Any help on how to configure the AGPS to use my "T-Mobile Data" connection would be greatly appreciated.
Btw I am running:
PC.Ultimate.V13 WWE
WM6.1
Radio 1.70.19.09
Maybe try and use Modaco Nodata to disable the WMobile link connection?
Thank you kilrah. I used Nodata and disabled WMobile link. Thanks alot.
No prob
I've searched the forums and I can't seem to find a solution to the fact that I can't download weather data while synced at work behind a proxy server. I'm able to connect to the Internet from IE and Opera with the correct Proxy information set in my Connection settings tab.
From my home wi-fi or home activesync, I connect fine, because there's no proxy required. Because I don't have a data plan, and I can't get the weather to update through my proxy at work, I'm limited to updates while I'm home.
Has anyone found a solution to this proxy authentication problem? Thanks!
The problem can be related with "Proxy manager". Try to disable proxy, it's in "Tools" section of "Programs".

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, EnergyROM doesn't have a "Proxy manager" folder under "Tools". I did, however, have the cabs for remove and restore hidden proxy. I tested after each install, but had no luck, although all my other Internet apps still connected fine.
The specific error I receive is:
Connection Error
There was a connection error while attempting to download weather data. Retry?

May be your proxy server is banned by weather data provider
It is more likely that the provider is blocked by my corporate proxy. Where do I determine the url used for the weather feed so I can test from my PC?
Edit:
OK. If found the url. It is http://weather.not2advanced.com/htcweather/forecastdata.php?ac=XDADevs&locCode=%25ls&version= 1&device=innovation and I'm able to access it just fine from my desktop to which I'm synced. That puts the problem back to the application, in my opinion.
I suspect it could be related to the information located in the [Sep-14-08] HTC Weather Proxy Patch thread that with this fix, but there have be no updates for for TF3D or sense editions. I'm wondering if no one else is having the problem?
So... nobody else has encountered this issue?
Try AccuWeather.com service.
http://www.htc-touch-info.com/en/weather/
Thank you for you response. But I'm confused. How does changing the location of the server change anything if the weather application can't get out to it in the first place? Here's what I mean. While synced with my PC, I can open the above url in pocket IE and see the resulting xml data. This would mean my phone can resolve and receive data from the url through my corporate firewall, yet the manila weather still receives the 'Connection Error' when using the same address. To me, this suggests that the weather application isn't using the proxy settings specified in 'Settings->Connections->Connections->Edit my proxy server'.
Maybe I'm wrong. if so, perhaps you could explain it to me so I can understand.
Thanks again!
Roger
same here!
Same here, im using the same rom as u and Im having the exact same problem and its driving me nuts cus i really like this rom...but i like the weather updates 2!
If u get a solution pm me plz!
Cheers
no solution till now?
i have the same problem with my HTC TD2, Opera or iexlore are going fine through the proxy settings as i'm connectet via USB at work.
but all other applications don't (wheather update, GPS Tracks, Geocaching,...)
on Android systems there is a solution called TransProxy but not for WM6.5
Udo
There is a program called ProxyCap that has a decent version for Windows Mobile - http://www.proxycap.com/download.html
It's only a 14-day trial though =( But seems to be quite powerful. You could possibly also use it as a rule-based firewall, by forcing a certain port range or exe to use a proxy server that doesn't actually exist
It works well for me, when testing a SOCKS connection to Tor, but it only supports SOCKS4/5 and HTTPS (not standard HTTP) so now I have to install Secure HTTP support on my SQUID server! I haven't touched that thing for months!
