Seek WM6 and TouchFlo ROM - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I've read and read, and I'm still totally lost, there's just too many posts, it's too overwhelming. To make it real simple, I have a T-Mobile magician, with the following:
IPL 2.26
SPL 2.26
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.26.10.2
I downloaded lokiwiz, but got the write error. Gonna try the Button ROM (yeah I know I shoulda done it before the lokiwiz), then T-mobile's, and then a new WM6 ROM of the gazillions out there. My needs are simple, just WM6 and Touchflo. Is there a way to do this without having to be a nuclear physicist?

if you have a magician (as you stated in your post) then you're in the wrong forum
for WM6 ROMs just check the wiki, there's a nice list there where you can start off

Downgrading Upgrading LokiUnlock Overwhelmed and Confused Plz help

Ok I purchased a new Cingular 8125. It is a G3 Version. It was purchased with these settings
Original
Ipl 1.08
Spl 1.08
GSM 01.09.11
OS 1.8.11.1
New
Currently I Upgraded it to the HTC Release ROM from
HTC's website Settings now are
Ipl 2.25
Spl 2.25
GSM 02.25.11
OS 2.25.11.1
I want to use Risi's new 2.26 Rom but I can't CID/UNLOCK my phone. I noticed that there are MANY others here with the SAME problem.
I'm Begging for some assistance.
We need
1. Instructions on how to Downgrade to 1.8.11.1 so that we can use LOKIWIZ to unlock it. Thereby enabling us to use cooked up roms.
Been looking all over for the programs that are needed to do this. And I'm just as lost as ever. I definately do not want to brick my 8125 but I'm out of options.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263116
Forget the warning at the top, I just used this method and on my new 8125 with the same firmware you are running and it worked fine. Take your time and follow directions. If you are not absolutly sure after reading the instructions stop and forget it. Download all the tools you need and do a dry run in your head.
Oh, I just found all this information a couple days ago by searching and spending time on the forum reading.
thanks man. im doing it right now the downgrading process hopefull it works. pray for me. if it does work ill have your children, build a shrine in our honor, and send 5 strippers to your house. if it fails i shall smite thee to hell on earth and take your first born.
well ive tried everything man. I went BACK to that old rom. Did the CIDunlock deal it apparently worked. But Nothing else does. It goes back to the old 1.xx rom then i made the mistake of upgrading to risis rom immediately. that didnt work. kept everything the same but installed the EXT rom. so i went BACK to the 1.xx rom unlocked again and then installed the 2.17 shipping rom. It instaleld but the OS stayed stuck at 1.xx. I ran risi and it only installed the ext rom again. I'm beginning to think my device can never support any cooked up roms and have given up. I'm installing the HTC shipped 2.25 rom now and hope that everythings all good and gravy again and all my numbers match up again. Hopefull this will be the case.

IPL locked on 1.01

Hello all,
I am somewhat of a newby here, but I have successfully unlocked my Cingular 8125 and installed a couple of WM6 ROMs. I followed the procedure of downgrading to Button 1.05 ROM, then running Lociwiz, then installing T-Mobile 2.26, then WM6 ROM. Worked great...until now.
I was going to try another ROM, and I followed above procedures (didn't know if I needed to after initial unlocking, but I did anyway). At the "install T-Mobile 2.26" step, after 1 %, I got an error 326?, nb file not for this device. I can still install cooked WM6 ROMs, and the SPL changes, but IPL always remains at 1.01. If I try to install IPL/SPL 3.08 CAB, SPL changes to 3.08, IPL stays at 1.01. I have re-installed Button Rom 1.05 and run Lociwiz a dozen times to no effect. Even the Cingular WM5 OS meant for this device gives me the same error code as the T-Mobile.
I'm hoping this is a simple newby error. Anybody have any suggestions.
Thanks for any help.
By the way, after loading Button ROM, my Wizard hangs during the customization routine at Signed_DiscoButton8.sa. I must soft reset.
I got exactly the same problem.
I am now on IPL 1.01 , SPL 3.08, radio 2.69, using rom NBD 8.3
doesnt seem a problem however...

Hey m8,
have you forgotten this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319582) ? (see last post)

hahaha nice to see good spirit after all this
Here goes:
Make backup of the CID block (VERY VERY important!!!)
Make backup of the GSM calibration block (VERY VERY important!!!)
Kill wcescomm.exe process
Start mtty, enter bootloader mode in Wizard and connect
type doctest (this will write test patterns in DOC chip and clear all data!)
Flash button ROM (1.01_IPL/1.01_SPL/1.05_OS)
Flash CID block backup (don't miss this)
Flash GSM calibration backup (important)
If all ok then remember to upgrade to 2.xx before installing WM6!!

EDIT:
Use WST for steps 1, 7 & 8

yes.. missed your last post to be honest, sorry..
(btw phone is happy till now .. but we go for solving it, killing seems impossible)
step 2, gsm callibration block.. how do i copy?
D-Lite
use the "Read ROM" button and select the appropriate section from the list.
status:
Code:
DOC ImgFS partition read/write test PASS
Ext ROM partition read/write test, offset=0x0, length=0xA00000
Test pattern =0xAA
Flash Ext ROM failed.
DOC Ext ROM partition read/write test FAILED
--Flashing button rom @ 100%
--DATA CRASHES PLEASE CONTACT SERVICE CENTRE
--WST Says I am still on SPL 3.08 and rom is write protected.. screen of wizard says SPL 1.01 ...
--Installing Button ROM, ... SIM Lock SUDDENLY
--Screen goes funny flashing between simlock and customise
--Few soft-resets, WST now convinced on SPL 1.01 and flashed CID block
--Soft-reset
--Imei gone, flashed back GSM callib. data, softreset
--doesnt boot passed the pint of beer... going for RUU of T-Mobile 2.x
--bootloader, flashing RUU_Prodigy_2210205_22102108_021911_TMO_NL_DUT_Ship.exe
--The NBF can not be used for your phone @95%, followed by congratiolations (stupid software)
--trying UK version...
--all give error 326
--another button flash
--*PLING IDEA* on 3.08 i couldnt doctest properly... so doing it again
-- bad idea.. same result...
damn... i thought it would work
anyway, there was point where the phone had same values for IPL/SPL (not too bad ). What is strange is why phone didn't boot anymore after flashing the GSM calibration and saying the flashes weren't suited for the phone.
What state is it on now? Wanna go again? This time, instead of flashing the 'GSM calibration data' do a simple IMEI writing and try to unlock CID before upgrading to official ROMs
sorry for this...
IPL locked on 2.26
I am having the same issue. I have tried numberous times to load my original rom and get the 326 error @ 1%. My ipl remains locked on 2.26. Is there any way to fix this? Please help.
it is now on 1.01, got my own imei back, spl 3.08, nbd 8.x rom...
everything fine again.. pretty sure it has something to do with ext.rom and/or write protection of it.. will give it another shot but not this month.. getting busy
@acmickey, not sure if you got same issue... is your IPL 1.01? else you might just have a locked phone..
Hey d-lite,
I followed your example and loaded BSD8.3 ROM and IPL/SPL 3.08 and radio 2.69. Everything seems to be fine. No missed calls. All programs work (touchflo is pretty cool). IPL is still locked on 1.01, even though SPL is 3.08.
I tend to agree with you that something is suspicious concerning the extended ROM. The first symptom I had that something was wrong was after loading Button's ROM, during the customization routine, Signed_DiscoButton8 would not install. Phone locked up and had to soft reset.
Oh, well, at least the phone works. The downside, of course, is that you can't load an original ROM, even though you can load a cooked one. Weird, huh?
Hopefully someone a lot more knowledgeable than I will figure this one out soon. Will keep checking the boards. At least we don't have bricks.
I am having the exact same problem as the 1st post but my ipl is stuck on 2.26. I am using an unlocked device and I have no problem downgrading/upgrading the spl. I also get the 326 error when I try to flash back to the original rom. (I used to be able to do this without a problem - I can't figure out what happened.)
It's really weird and I have search and searched and can't seem to figure out a solution.
which SPL you have now?
sorry.... my spl is 1.01
Right. Assuming your device is working 'normally' are you willing to try something new? If so contact me PM
what have you cooked up this time mestrini? lol
my wiz (at 1.01 still..) is doing a-ok, but always willing to go for something new so we can fix this for the communities sake...

sorry to mislead you buddy but acmickey got it all wrong and, instead of IPL stuck at 2.26 and SPL 1.01, he has same as you IPL 'locked' at 1.01
So my theory could not be verified.

HTC Upgrade to Windows Mobile 6 - ISSUES

OK, first post ..... treat me easy n slow!!
I have 15 years mobile experience, but not always technical. These days I am playing with my Samsung i600, Imate PDA2k, HTC K-Jam, N95 etc etc...
Anyway, here's my update on upgrading my K-Jam to Windows Mobile 6 - BTW (is WM6 Wizard Mobile or Windows Mobile)??
The story start with ipl 2.26 and spl 2.26 (and ends their)!!
When you restart the KJam check the ipl and spl - these are very very important (do not upgrade to 3.08 - this gave me real headaches).
Anyway, my device was probably already unlocked and CID unlocked, so after 2 days I think I could have upgraded in 20 mins ...
Moral is - try to upgrade first before following all the instructions on XDA-Developers. The file that worked for me was TNT.19199_professional_wizard
So, without trying the above which I bet would have worked first time, I downloaded many many ROMS and ran several - followed all the instructions and as per my i600 upgrade and got somewhere but didn't manage to complete - like for 2 days!!
Here's my issues list
1. Don't go IPL or SPL 3.08
SPL 3.08 is almost impossible to downgrade and you will keep getting to 98% or 99% without ever getting to 100%; that said I did manage to downgrade from IPL 1.05 / SPL 3.08 with LOKIWIZ / T-Mobile 2.26 (both posted several times)
1a. Lokiwiz - ISSUES
I ran this under XP and it wouldn't start. Trick was to login as admin user - then it did
Somewhere someone says copy enablerapi.cab to your HTC - I forgot after first time and it made a difference
Anyhow, I went 2.26,2.26 to 2.26, 1.01 to 3.08,3.08 to 3.08,1.01 to 3.08, 1.05 and then.... with enablerapi.cab loaded on HTC.... 2.26,2.26 by running the T-Mobile Rom.... then ran the TNT file above and now on Windows Mobile 6 .... Eiiiissssshhhhh (as they say in SA)....
Now,, does anyone know a nice WM6 interface??? my i600 looks very cute but the K-Jam is not so cool... anyone know where to view GUI pictures??
Hope the above helps for someone... truely I am not a geek, but not a dumbo either and it took me 2 days...
Great Forum BTW..
Cheers JA.
WM6 upgrade issues
I have 2 TMobile mda's. Have tried the TNT rom, and on the first mda, the itouch software caused the phone to freak out and not load several cab files, clocknot.exe, calnot.exe, and replog.exe. I had to flash and re-install the rom each time and the phone would work perfectly until the itouch software was activated, and then all of the problems would return. This actually allows the phone to go to sleep, and not wake up..which causes missed phone calls, missed texts....etc. Have you had this problem also?

Help Downgrading WM6 to WM5 Cingular 8125

Hi,
I have a Cingular 8125 phone, I upgraded it WM6 with one of the ROM that I downloaded from xda forums. I do NOT know which one that I downloaded. I remember downloading and installing one of the T-Mobile stuff, then flashing a new WM6 ROM from this forum. My phone locks up every time AFTER I receive/make a phone call. I would like to go back to stock WM5. I have no idea how this works, but it appears that I am running the risk of bricking my device if I do it wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Following is the details of what I have.
During BOOT it shows
T-Mobile Logo
IPL 3.08
SPL 3.08
GSM 2.25.11
OS 6.1.0.0
After boot,
About page says Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional
Device Information page says,
ROM Version: 6.1.0.0 WWE
ROM Date: 1/16/08
Radio Version: 2.25.11
Protocol Version 4.1.13.12
Thanks,
JSenthil
no problem, just flash he original rom.
I have it, from mda t-mobile.
I think i have from cingular to, if you need it, let me know.
Isn't that I first have to downgrade my SPL/IPL to 2.xx in order for the original WM5 to work on my G3 wizard?
Can you please explain the steps involved? BTW, where can I find the original ROM, are you referring to the one that can be downloaded from the HTC website?
Thank you for your help,
JSenthil
Unfortunately I installed iPhone skin onto my Cingular 8125. I would like to revert process and get back my WM5, but I tried "hard reset" (Comm Mng + Voice buttons and poke reset with stylus) and nothing. Keeps going back to the iPhone skin. Few things do not work, still has scroll bar on side, connection and battery icons and no lock mode. Contact list feels like iPhone, but is not well developed, still has bugs and menus to la-la land.
Please help, I don't know much about WM5 or cell phones.
Thanks!

1st flashing questions from Hermes convert

I picked up a used Kaiser, looking at the current conditions, this is what I find:
Dutty's 6.1 (19716)
dutty WM6.1 WWE
04/29/08
radio: 1.64.08.21
prot: 25.74.40.02W
SPL shows:
KAIS1*0 MFG
SPL-1.0.OliPof
CPLD-8
Serial
In the Hermes world flashing a ROM was pretty simple.. at day 1 you flash Hard-SPL (and there was only 1 version) and never looked back... looks like a few more steps here (for Hermes we didn't have to remove SIM or SD card, and a hard-reset was automatically part of the picture.. and Radios weren't really paired to ROMs, only really to your geographic location)
I've watched a few youtube videos, and read over several Wiki pages.
Given that my SPL says "Serial" I am guessing I will need the "USB force" version of whatver V3 SPL I choose? From what I see, v1 wasn't the best match for 6.1 ROMs.
I think I'd like to give the new L26 ROM a shot http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416276
Chef recommends Hard-SPL 3.29 and it looke like radio version: 1.65.24.36 is cooked in? (radios were not normally cooked in for Hermes.. but also did not have much importance)
So my plan is to
1) install Hard SPL 3.29 force-usb from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922 , using instructions from same thread
2) install L26 v11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416276 , using flash instructions from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=KaiserIntroductionToROM_Flashing .. also referenced http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1846653&postcount=800
Have I gathered my info correctly?
With regard to the ROM flash Wiki, I do not see any mention of removing SIM or SD card, is that needed?
thanks,
Mike

You don't need to use ForceUSB unless you still see "Serial" after connecting your phone by USB and running JumpSPL/SSPL from the device. "Serial" is always displayed in the bootloader screen when no USB cable is connected.
Other than that, you're good to go.
