so i like touch-it v2.3 for my wing... i tried flashing by way of aserg i followed all the instructions and it just wouldn't work... then i hard spl'd and tried again to no avail... i know it said "DONT TOUCH THE PHONE", but things were popping up on the phone... i managed to restore to the hard spl os, when i tried to flash to the oem rom using the ruu, phone kept restarting at 2%... i restored to the factory rom by copying the nbh to the hard spl ruu folder and renaming it to canonyang.nbh... i tried flashing several times, i even downloaded the tylerc161 wing kit and it still didn't work... is there any way to flash using an Official RUU...

you have to take an official ruu - but after hard-spl you have to delete the SPL.nbh from the official ruu_rom
could you point me to a tutorial

Hi,
I tried flashing my rom using the shell tool today and it did not work. So I tried a hard reset and now its stuck in the first screen where its a blue background and it says
IPL 2.25
SPL 2.25
GSM 02.25.11
os 10.2.0.8
I was able to get past the RGB screen but now I have no idea what to do.
I tried flashing it to the WM6 if that helps anything and it was on the official cingular rom before
Why are you using the Shell Tool when you have a G3 (based on the IPL / SPL that you posted)? Just CID unlock your device and save yourself a ton of headaches.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
And yes it helps to know you are flashing WM6, but which one?
I was trying to flash it to PDAMobiz_Wizard_WM6_G3_AmazingRom_V.1.1_by_Hong.exe
I got my machine back to the 225 rom but I just cant seem to get the instructions on flashing it to work as I cant flash to button, wizard love, or tmobile and therefore cant get it to flash properly.
just throw it in bootloader mode (press soft reset with the stylus and then quickly hold the camera button.) When you get there just connect the wizard to the usb port and flash with the latest official rom. It really should work
I did. my problem is trying to get it to WM6. I have tried the official rules by the doctor, but I cant unlock it and I cant downgrade the rom. I cant install the tmobile rom as well. It seems every rom I try to install does not work.its driving me crazy.
Why can't you unlock it? Dr. P's unlocking instructions with Lokiwz are pretty straightforward and easy to do -- if you follow them step by step. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to unlock it.
PLUS -- once you're unlocked, you can flash to ANY ROM -- ANY TIME. No need to downgrade and re-unlock every time you want to flash a newer, better ROM.
I followed the instructions. But they did not work for me. I cant goto either of the roms suggested and I cant unlock my phone. it just doesnt work for me.

You can't even downgrade to button's rom? What's the error you're getting. Give us some info we can help you further with!

I hate to say this, but if you did follow the instructions it would work. You really can't skip steps.

The error I am getting downgrading to button is
error 260 - update error
I get this with all roms. I have restarted my pc numerous times and done other things to try to get it to work but alas nothing helps.

17 ERROR [248~260] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs when there is an “open port error” before upgrading the CE ROM image.
Solution: You can reset the device and run RUU again. If you still encounter an “OPEN PORT ERROR” again, reset your computer and try again.

The solution for your problem might be in this thread.

One last thought --
If you can't downgrade to Buttons' 1.05 ROM to unlock, maybe you could downgrade to the original Cingular-shipped ROM, which is v1.08.
I've uploaded it to Rapidshare for you if you want to try it.

Tried to Update ROM but ive had no luck. i installed the Aserg Policy Cab, ran it. Soft reset the phone. After that the phone would not go passed the splash.
Ive put the device in bootloader, and Ran the RUU but it did not work. Ive tried HardSPLing the phone again, it did not work.
Every ROM I try in bootloader mode I get error 270 - the file is corrupt. All the herald files cant be corrupt.
If i try, running the ruu utility, without putting the phone in bootloader, the device keeps restarting itself.
I've tried the SD card method. Formatted the card to Fat32 put the nbh file in there named it Heraimg.nbh. Didn't do anything. used canonyang.nbh. didnt do anything. When i pop the SD card in, nothing happens.
Any other idea's. Someone mentions removing the spl.nbh file and running it.. but I dont see how that would help.
the SPL contains the CID lock so you should remove it if your phone is Hardspl'd
your phone, however, is not. It is possible that the HardSPL was removed by reflashing the RUU, but it has been shown that doing so generally does not bode well for the phone.
It might be due to the newer SPL. Your SPL is a 5.x.x.x series and the HardSPL was created with a 4.x.x.x series SPL. I'm not sure if that's the problem, but I wonder if that's a factor...
How do I remove the CID lock on the SPL.
I cant even HardSPL the phone anymore becuase the phone keeps booting 3% of the way. I had a TouchIT ROM on the phone as well.
Is there a way to get a RUU that was designed around the 5.0 SPL
I am trying to upgrade ROMS. I have the Ollipro boot loader - ALL OK, the Radio ROM I want, ALL OK. When I try to flash a ROM ([P3600i] Karmba_a v10.1 - Diamond [fixed].rar) or (cmE_0.9_beta.rar) or (n0610e_beta_m2d.7z) I get the above error. I am flashing by SD as I do not use Windoze on my PC. Radio's flash this way fine. Would this be the problem?

Not sure if my 3600i is bricked as I have the Olipro 3.6 Hard SPL and I can SD-flash any Radio ROM. It is just the ROM it self that fails with the error as mentioned in the topic. Any guidance appreciated!
tchoklat
Hi all,
Most definitely it is not bricked. Been there with my tinity.
On my pda only the WM5 could be installed without the error code (i only could install it from SD, because i have vista on my computer, and even with trying to follow others advice i didn't managed to flash from my computer)
and after something like 6 hours of hard searches and many tries here is my solution:
1.installed Olios's hardspl_120 (tried both 130 and DES):
first i booted om WM5, copied SSPL-TRIN.exe and the hard-spl nbh that i've renamed it to trinimg.nbh, and run SSPL-TRIN.exe, that will get you in the famous tricoloured screen (i don't know why it only installed the hard spl this way, if i try to manually enter the boot with power+camera+the stylus inserted in the reset it didn't installed and i end up with "Upgrade fail" after 1-2% or i got i restart during the flash upgrade).
2. installed the last radio Trinity_Radio-1.50.08.11
the same way like the hard-spl from SD card.
3. installed WM6 ROM
I've taken a WM6 rom (the first that i tried was Mary v3.7) and installed from SD card.
That was it.... success.
After i've managed to put a wm6 rom i've tried wm6.5 rom and worked and a couple of firmwares.
Hope this post will help in need trinity owners, because i was last night very desperate.....and i didn't found any answers, just tried and tried and...... and hope this solution will work for you too.
good luck!
Ok, here's what i did:
I'm sending my xperia back to vodafone, so i need to restore stock rom and spl. I flashed a NL Vodafone R3AA rom (found here) to my phone yesterday, which worked perfectly. Did a hard reset, and went on with restoring stock spl.I tried using the special RUU with a replaced stock spl .nbh (the method described in one of the topics here), but the RUU couldnt find my phone. Since i didnt have another PC here, i tried to flash the .nbh to my phone via the micro SD method.
This went well, the progress bar filled up and disappeared, followed by 10+ minutes of "loading". Advised by a friend, i pulled out the battery, put it back in the device and powered it on. The phone instantly booted, showing the bootloader-screen and saying it's going to resume flashing the device. Followed by another endless "loading" screen.
But, since i got a chance to look in the bootloader-screen, I saw the SPL version was now 0.72.000 (or something like that, at least the OliNex text was gone). Afaik, this means the stock spl is back. I tried replacing the stock spl Kovsimg.nbh with the default one provided with the custom RUU (which is OliNex HardSPL, right?), but it showed the same "loading" screen. I havent tried flashing the rom again, since the bootloader says it's on stock spl at the moment...
What can i do? I guess they dont accept bricks over at vodafone...
Thanks in Advance,
Sorbo
using the usb cable and the ROM flashing Custom_RUU.exe
flash the R3A Rom again. that should fix it not booting!
You also need to flash the radio back to stock (not sure what version it is, but it's around here somewhere) otherwise you'll face flash issues. This means flashing HardSPL flashing the radio, flashing StockSPL again and return. Also, best flash R2A. Not sure if R3A was ever properly released.
Ok guys, thanks for the replies

The phone is back on stock spl, is it possible to flash a rom? Or only stock roms? (Sorry for my dumb question, havent been into flashing for a few months now)

Ok, thanks for the tip R2AA it is!
When flashing the rom the radio was also updated, but i'll try this
R3AA was properly released!
if you want to be cure of complete stock why not just use SEUS?
and there is no need to flash radio with stock ROMs as they're included, all your doing is flashing a radio extracted from a stock rom anyway! this means you don't have to hardspl

And this was the winning tip. Just flashed back the R3AA rom (vfone NL), even though i doubted if it would work (since the bootloader said it was back on stock spl), but it did.
Phone works again. Bootloader now says 0.78.000 (or something like that, no OliNex), so i guess it's ok now. RUU still isnt able to flash the phone, tried on 3 different pc's ( win7 x64, vista x86, xp x86), but i cant flash the phone...
Ah well, i'll try to send it back, see what they come up with. Thanks a bunch!
When i turn my phone on it doesn't go to the splash screen, it instead goes to the hardSPL screen, and will then reinstall my rom if i let it. Even after i do that it still goes to the hardSPL. The only thing that made it boot normally was removing the battery leaving it for a while but then when i restarted it went back into loading hardSPL.
Any ideas for what i could do to fix this?
I dont know what Rom i am running, its currently not booting.. but i am running hardSPL 3.29
I am reinstalling the rom using the microSD card.
If you can help at all, much appriciated!!!

Try reinstalling a stock Kaiser rom
I tried that, and nothing. It is still going straight to hard SPL. and draining the onboard chips no longer works.. Any more ideas??
When you are in bootloader, try to install the stock rom not with the sd card method. I think your problem relies in flashing through your card and everytime you boot..it takes you to hardslp.
Nope..
The RUU doesnt recognise there is any image on the phone, even just after installing its stock one.
Can i update HardSPL somehow?

Yeah, sorry that i didnt make that clear. i flashed with the RUU available with the stock rom, but no success.

Try different stock roms since I read that you don't even know which rom are U running.
I tried various other stock roms, some 6.0 and some 6.1, and all to no avail.
What I notice is that when I run the update program, there is no previous image version each time. I therefore think that the boot loader isnt being told there is any rom to run, and is therefore just running HardSPL. (apologies for the incorrect terminology and/or understanding of how it works)
To clasify exactly how I am installing these roms, I have downloaded them and running the straight .exe, not extracting out the Rom Update Utility (RUU) and the .nbh file from the .exe file. My phone doesnt have a SD card in it. Each time I run the RUU, it runs through as normal, aside from displaying no previous image number. When my phone restarts at the end of the update, it goes straight back to the tricolour HardSPL screen, and the RUU ignorantly tells me the update was a success.

I have a similar problem, i RUU the image but it doesn't actually flash the phone memory. If you look carefully to what's reported on the LCD during flash, i bet the "-" charachter besides the various items to be flashed (IPL, BOOTLOADER, GSM, SPLASH, EXTROM, OS if i remember correctly) doesn't turn to an "OK" to all items. That means the flashing process is not ended and so no image is actually flashed on the phone even if it seems to be. That's why a previous image number isn't displayed.
My phone has a standard SPL and is still bricked, but yours has HSPL flashed. You can try using Frankenkaiser, i hope it could help.
Good luck
