Tap and Hold drop boxes - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

not sure if anyone cares to much but noticed the other day that if you tap and hold on thing throughout WM6 you can change little options that are other wise a pain to do. the one that i noticed is that if you tap and hold on the clock you can change from a digital clock to analog.
if anyone elses finds any more drop down option or cool menu boxes, post um.

Any way to REALLY scroll with thumbwheel ?

Hi !
I'm looking for a way to scroll with the thumbwheel (right now it's just as pressing up/down which does different things depending on the app). I know it could be done, since we have the finger scrolling which works as a REAL scroll, so if moving the thumb down would act the same as finger scrolling for 1cm, for example, than it would be a real scroll.
BTW: as i'm typing this, i'm starting to program an app to do it, so if i don't find a solution, i'l make one myself... muahahaha(evil laugh)... of course i'll share it... free.
Please tell me if you know a solution, so i don't waste my nights programming (again).
Thanks,
RPG
i haven't been able to find a solution and I looked high to low. I think the wheel should be more like a page down than arrow down.
I have never understood why you can't get it to go vertically. It does it on the program and settings but not on the today screen.
I think you are onto something here.
I saw one of the button mapping programs that allowed you to assign screen actions to buttons, but I am not sure how well it would work. If it did, I would imagine it could be pretty quirky and not the most efficient way to do in things, since you be basically reinterpreting another event. Sounds like it might be useful, but I would suggest maybe providing the ability to to toggle between the normal behavior and the true scrolling by double clicking the jog wheel button.

What software is making the analog clock?

Im trying to find out which software is making my taskbar clock analog instead of digital...i'm just wondering..but it looks pretty slick compared to the digital...anybody knows what software is doing this?
im running udk vega 8 btw
thanks!
no software, its built into windows mobile. Tap and hold on your clock in the taskbar and a drop down list will come down and you select analog or digital
another tip, if you hold down the center dpad button, or press in on the scroll bar, then tap and hold on the clock, let go of both then you have the "run" option..

[App Request] Expense/Budget Monitor

Hey, I think this should be fairly easy, but I've never done a mobile app going to download and try but I'm sure you guys can whip something out.
I have looked at the options I could find and didn't like them, they were more complex that what I wanted.
I want a simple Budget/Expense monitor that is finger friendly, ability to put in your budget/ expense amount, enter expense (maybe even option for refunds), a few quick options for category (gas, lodging, etc, maybe a couple user defined), Date entry (maybe a quick button for yesterday and today).
Here's how I envisioned it working:
two icons in Programs, 1 for setting the budget amount (and clearing the previous amount/entries), the other for launching the app. when you launch the app you get a fairly large display of the amount remaining, with a button to add an expense, tap add expense button, you go to screen that allows finger friendly enter of amount, tap next go to quick category buttons, tap next go to date, enter date, tap Done and it returns to the screen showing amount remaining. I don't need it to export or sync to anything, I have the receipts and cc statements, etc. and can file that when I get home, I just want a quick glance at how much of my expense budget is left.
Hi, welcome to xda , it is already done - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416282
yeah, I already tried that one, while it is nice, it is still more complex than I wanted. Doesn't open up to balance, I know it's only a few finger strokes to get to it but not what I was looking for.
Thanks
Please post some layouts and detailed description and I can have a look at it.

Press and hold two fingers - recently used apps

Decided to look at the help on the gear manager app. Found two things I did not know about.
- Press and hold two fingers and you can see and go to recently used apps just like your android phone. Makes switching apps very easy!!
- Press and hold the side button to quickly get to outdoor mode or vibrate only.
Heck, maybe I'll even look at the user manual now...
Double tap the screen to get the volume and brightness control also.
Tap on the weather icon to get more weather details, too.
Thanks!

I'm looking to make something along the lines of Tap Tap Revenge

This may seem like a stretch, but I was wondering how I should go about programming Tap Tap Revenge except with 4 buttons at the bottom. I was thinking of adding buttons at the bottom along with rectangles that cover the buttons, and have the notes be rectangles and each time the button is pressed it checks for rectangle intersect. Sadly, I know nothing about Android Studio. Can someone help me get started, or should I switch projects...
