Wow! I can turn on my PPC 6600 again, but - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 Software Upgrading

So far, I can use the phone without any problem. Previously, I tried to upgrade my phone because I want to use bluetooth headset to listen music. That can only be done in WM5 or later. Now I reinstall my CDMA version of WM2003. I find out that the bluetooth does not work due to expire of lincese key. Does anyone have any suggestion how I can over come it? I just want my phone back to exact a few day ago. Thanks

I can't hear incoming calls...

I'm having a problem when someone calls, I can't hear them but they can hear me. Once I soft reset, everything's peachy. Just today I used my phone (pda2k with i-mate 1.40 rom) several times. Everything was fine. I turned the flight mode a couple times today. Then, I turned on flight mode, let the phone sit for a while and had an incoming call...I couldn't hear them. I told them to call back in 5 minutes. I tried calling another number but couldn't hear anything, did a reset and everything was fine.
This has happened before and after the 1.40 upgrade. Anyone have any reason why?? I've tried turning the flight mode off and back on, but that didn't help either.
Thanks,
Tom
This is an known issue in 1.40 ROMs, and currently there is no solution.
Dont blame ROM 1.40 because you also face this problem when using ROM 1.31
No solution so far but a trick's available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/posting.php?mode=reply&t=22239
Solution
Delete Run_BTTrayCE_10.lnk from your Windows\Startup folder and soft reset. Now you wont have the BT icon on the tray bar, but you wont have the no sound problem. If you still need bluetooth you can start it from the Windows directory as BTTrayCE.lnk.
Have fun.
I don't know if this can help to solve the problem but I wanted to mention that I never had this problems when I was using vodafone, but after I changed the sim card this probleme occured
Solution
The Solution is TURN ON your BLUETOOTH and then TURN OFF your bluetooth.

Unfortunately for me this actually triggers the no sound issue! My device is fine until the first time I use bluetooth then I can almost 100% guarantee that the next call will be silent.
As stated before with the 1.40.00 rom, this issue is certainly linked to the Bluetooth driver, perhaps on use it is switching audio to their driver for headset use and not restoring it?
Are you using sbp Plus, because this application has issue with bluetooth. Try to close all application not to minimize them when you are done with it. Use PocketNav or Magic Button for that.

Can you tell me if the BT has to be started like you described when you use Tom Tom? Normaly Tom Tom starts the BT automaticaly when it starts. Thanxx
hi
I get this problem a lot when I've had the phone on silent or vibrate and then change it back. I think it mainly happens when I receive a call after this rather than make an outgoing one but after the 1st call even outgoing ones have no sound.
It sounds daft but after a couple of months where I reset whenever it happened I just by chance hit the volume slider & sure enough the in call volume was turned right down. It's worth checking as it's an easy fix for me!!
Kill process
The solution for the problem could be to not run the BT driver. Anyway it's possible to delete from startup the dirver and to run when it need (for GPS or headset...).. But is there a way to kill the BT process without reset the machine (that without BT in the startup does't run the driver) whit a simple "TAP" ?
Thanx... M.
I hope I put my Reply on the right forum, but however...
I recently bought a QTEK9090 via Ebay and also I have the "I can't hear incoming calls..." problem.
Radio 1.06.02 and ROM 1.22.ooWWE. I understand from the postings in this forum that only a few (approx 10 to 15) have a problem and the rest of the world does NOT.
Strange but due to this I am really thinking to replace it by a P910I, as a phone should be able to pick-up calls. I haven't decided because the 9090 is a great machine.
Doesn't anybody have a clue, even not the manufacturer ??
Hi,
i had the same problem. Than i followed the advice above from someone deleting the autostart BT and using the btray.lnk instead. Absolutely fine since then.
greetings
Using the XDA IIs.
Until we get a proper fix, I am using the manual Run_BTTray method to turn on the BT if I need to use my headset.
So what I do is, (a) normally, no BT tray, (b) to use my BT headset, use Run_BTTray to turn on BT tray, (c) use ATBluetooth to actually turn on and off the BT radio, and finally (d) soft-reset to remove the BT Tray when I'm done.
I know it sounds complicated, but is ok after I assign the commands to my buttons (XDA IIs, plenty of buttons!).
What about the pda2k UniDirectional Patch.sa.cab available on the clubimate site.
I had this problem with ROM 1.40 as well as with the previous ROM. I have installed this patch. I have not had this unidirectional problem since then but I am not sure if this will work in the longer term as I have installed the upgraded ROM and the patch only a few days from now.
Love to hear comments of other members who have tried this patch.
Kind Regards

The patch works.... atleast I didnt get the no voice problem after the patch (touch wood  )
So, I've been searching, and this may be covered, but I seem to have the problem in REVERSE. I can hear the other party when using my BT headset, but they can't hear me! On one call, it'll work, then on another, it won't, and then it'll stop working. I have ROM v.1.40.00 and Radio 1.13.00 I don't know what I could do to fix this problem...
Any suggestion would be appreciated...Although I'm not keen about removing the BT tray from the startup, only to soft reset just to remove it...
Thanks,
Q
does this problem remains in the WM5 ?
I wouldn't know...I'm still on WM2003SE....BTW, I have a Siemens SX66.... Anyone? Please?

New Radio 1.13.00

The BA_DT_WWE_DutchRetail_14000_556_11300 has a new radio 1.13
I have converted this to a TYPE I file.
I have updated wiki with that info
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.13_Upgrade
It has been tested (that is to say the flash works)
Have fun.
Seems like the GPRS "cannot connect" Problem has been fixed in this stack.
Cant manually reproduce the problem like i used to be able to, so time will tell, but so far so good
problems with no hearing the caller
Is the problem "no hearing the caller" solved with this radio radio 1.13? I can't solve this problem. Can anyone help me?

Only time can tell, and it's to early to say yet.
Just upgrade to 1.13 radio.
Let's see.....
MDAIII,
Good job with the instructions which makes it very easy to upgrade. Works better than 1.12 radio. Wish the bluetooth would not give the "insufficient memory" error.
Thanks.
Updated to 1.13
Update works fine.
GPRS Problem seems to be gone. (Works here by now)
SMS works fine (1.12 gave me a little problem here)
Bluetooth works fine (Fast on/off)
Nothing to mourn ATM
No negatives yet here. Haven't encountered the 'no sound' issue yet. I haven't noticed any improvements, though.
I'm glad to hear about the GPRS. Has anyone tested the WiFi feature and how long it takes to connect to activestync? I have notices that my BA, after upgradeing to the new Shipped Asia ROM, takes a really long time to connect to activestync (about 1min.) compared to older radios. Which took at the most 5 seconds to make a handshare.
Will This work on a SX66?
hakushox, it will. Follow the instructions MDAIIIUser has laid out on wiki.
when i just tried it says its not designed for my phone
Then you didn't follow the instructions properly.
You can always use maUpgrade_noID.exe
sprite backup after upgrade??
hi all,
if i upgrade my radio and after the hard reset, i restore with sprite backup, will it downgrade the radio as well?
please reply urgently! i cant resist the temptation to upgrade!
will doing a Radio update only make me have to reinstall all my programs and settings....if so, is there an easy way around this.....
Doing a radio update WILL make you have to do a hard reset. You will get errors when you try to restore your backup using sprite. You will have to re-install your applications after a radio update. Thats why i;m waiting till my questions have been answered before I upgrade since I just upgraded the ROM last week.

Well I did the nasty thing and used Sprite Backup to restore, wanted to try since this was only a Radio upgrade.
Works perfectly until now.
But to really test this new Radio, one should not use any Restore functions.
Okay, so only time will tell whether this new Radio ROM will fix the known echo issues during bluetooth carkit telephone conversations...
It's been like a day now, I assume peeps who upgraded yet would have made several phonecalls by now... hehe
So... wots the verdict?.. :?
Edit: Nevermind, f*ck the verdict. I've gone in, full throttle. I'll let you know the outcome, going for a ride right now.
Hi,
well I have tried, still Echo :-(
I use Radio 1.13 now.
I have echo when only using the MDA and
I have echo when using a Lintech Bluetooth adapter in my Nokia Cark-91.
The first can't be a Bluetooth problem, the second one is a bluetooth problem, even after stack BT-3900.
So I think it's a great device, but as a phone it realy sucks.
I think the bluetooth is the biggest problem.
Hope it can be fixed soon.
Regards,
Max
Just HAVE a bluetooth insufficient memory error.
GPRS seems okay so far.
No caller hearing problem.

PLEASE HEEELP!!!! NO SOUND on my BA on calls ... :(

I'm having the same problem for a week now...
I was on the street with my BA making calls and all went Ok. I use it for my work, so I do lots of calls a day. Suddenly, I realized, when I call, that the other can not hear me, nor can I hear them! The counter is running, the screen says "Connected". I haven't done anything to change the configuration, nor it have dropped it from my pocket.
I'¡m getting crazy. I don't know what I've done wrong.
Things tried unsuccessfully: Crying or Very sad
-Lots of device resets..... Between tryes and Updates.
- Reinstalled WM5 using a different ROM. Now I have TM 1.3. [http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42632]
- Upgraded Radio to 1.15 (previously, I had 1.13)
- Used a Bluetooth headset. It worked, I could hear the sound from the phone, at least. Only thru the bluetooth headphone. Still, I could not hear any phone-sound from the loudspeaker when I turned off the headphone and the bluetooth headset were disabled, even with the Bluetooth signal ON, as suggested on other post. Each try with a new call. The weird thing is that I CAN hear the loudspeaker when I hear music or the system sounds... :?
- "Installed" the Unidirectional patch (copied the AudioGW.dll file over the old one successfully, reset, etc..)
- Turned off the device and leave it off for a while. Take off the SIM card, touch it (cosmic vibrations Embarassed) Sometimes, before, the SIM card went a little nuts if I resetted the device too much -maybe Confused- or if I got the battery off...
- Last, I've downgraded to the latest WM2003 ROM. Formatted the Storage Space and resseted the Registry Hive. No change. All else is working.
My options are finishing ....
Sorry if this has been posted before, but, at this point, when I've been tried almost (I think) everything, i couldn't find anything relevant using search.
Please, any help will be greatly appreciated!!! Maybe I can use at least a link to another thread..
Thanks
try downgrade your RADIO to 1.13
I've allready upgraded to 1.15 because of this problem. Anyway, I've downgraded just now and nothing same problem..... also: I can not get the handsfree-loudspeaker mode (pressing the "call" button for a while). Just nothing happens
Let's hope mamaich or other cracks read this post

ow... DONT PANIC !!! try flashing once again ... including ROM & RADIO
Rom & Radio flashed again. At no avail
I've used, lastly, the "standard" Rom posted on I-mate website (www.clubimate.com) [ROM: 1.40.00 WWE; Radio: 1.12.00; Protocol: 1337.42], just to checkout and everything (regarding this problem) remains the same.
I've, however, noticed that, before, when I used the volume slider up, first the PDA-volume went up, later the phone-volume. Now it only fully moves up the PDA-volume. I think this have something to do...
Again: Please, help me!!!
Thanks for your answer!!

Still the same after 3 flashing sessions
Two days ago, I've sent an e-mail to I-Mate. They have answered me yesterday telling me to hard-reset :? and if that doesn't work, to send the device to France or Portugal for fixing. Here on Spain there's no place where to send it.
I think it should be a software problem (maybe) that's why I'm asking help here.. Also, the problem with the volume slider up only occurs on W2003, not on WM5
What should I do??
Anyone?? HELLOO?
i've had this problem for a long time, and tried so many different patches non worked, but there is a way to deal with this issue u need to keep ur bluetooth on all da time or remove the file BTTrayCE from this directory
Mydevice>windows>start up
and copy this file to ur storage card if later u want to use ur Bluetooth so wat removing of this file does is that the icon in of bluetooth in tray bar will not appear automatically after u restart ur machine .
hope this helps
At no avail , but many thanks anyway.
I've seen this solution on other posts and I've tried it before. Without luck
Even the 'bluetooth on all the time' alternative. Without luck
Also, I'm now on TuMa 1.3 (WM5). The file relative to bluetooth on the startup folder is "BTIcon", wich I have moved as you stated. Without luck
Maybe the file you tell is for WM2003 ?? Could it be? Is the file named 'BTTrayCE' on WM2003 and 'BTIcon' on WM5?
I'm really desperate.

umm yeah i'm sorry, mine is running WM2003, maybe u should try downgrading to 2003 as well since i've done it and now i'm having less problems, i really don see much of advantage in using 2005, good luck.
ok here is a patch that is supposed to fix this problem but hasn't worked on mine, i just attach it here it might work on urs, or u might already have used it.
Sometime back, I had come across a post on a similar problem. I think what you have is a erratic headphone jack..I believe there is a micro (?)switch in there which connects headset and disconnects speakerphone.
I had a similar problem sometime back, and just put the headphone jack in there, jiggled it a bit and it started working. basically released the switch. your symptoms point to a similar problem...does not have anything to do with Radio ROM. Has not given me problem since then
here you go..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33207
Yup, I've seen this forum before. If it has to do with a headphone problem, then It shouldn't be heard anytime, and I CAN hear music and such from the device when it isn't in a call. Anytime I put the device on the "call" state (dialing, connected, hold, etc..) the sound goes out. :-S
So, it should not be a headphones problem.... should it??

Help with sound on Cingular/Siemens SX66

Hi, I have been reading through stuff on here for the past few days trying to find a solution but nothing has worked so I registered to actually post. I have had a Siemens SX66 since August 05 and until lately it had been working ok. I started to have battery issues a few months ago, and finally last week my SX66 refused to charge. I was away from home and using a travel charger, and was trying to search for any existing problems with that. Well, while I was searching I came across the wiki and found the uni-directional sound patch. It didnt solve my immediate problem but I have had the uni-direction issue every so often so I filed that away in the back of my head. So I got home, put my SX66 back in the cradle and it charged no problem. So once it was charged I decided to apply the unidirection sound cab figuring I might as well fix that while I remembered it. Being that genius that I am though I didn't back up my original ROM, and now I can only get sound on phone calls and through my headphones when the SX66 is plugged into a charger. I tried upgrading to ROMs 1.40 and 1.42, and I even found the official Siemens 1.33 ROM somewhere and tried to reinstall that. I have also been trying every single CAB I can get my hands on relating to audio (being careful to back things up before I change stuff now) but my audio issue is still there. I saw someone say that if you turn on BT you should be able to get audio, tried that and it didnt work either. Any ideas or suggestions would be great, or if there is a Siemens ROM out there that I have somehow missed (I have been wading through the FTP site looking for anything labeled Siemens/Cingular).
Thanks
Dan

What custom ROM has the most reliable / full featured Bluetooth?

My X1 has had problems with it's Bluetooth cutting out during calls ever since I got it. Even after a replacement phone and the new R3A firmware the problem persists. So now I am going the custom route...
Can anyone recommend to me a custom ROM for the X1 that has had improvements to the Bluetooth implementation?

Never heard any cook do BT differently exept base on differenr WM built. I do patch the driver w/ HD one such that Cyberon VC over BT works. I never had bt cutting out during call but sometime AFTER the call (and it's a well known issue to all HTC device)
Perhaps it is worth to try other radio (you don't have to change rom, just update radio). I'm really not sure, but radio probably contains Bluetooth drivers too. Is that right?

When flashing generic ROM you flash a corresponding radio (R3A with 1.14, R2A with 1.11 or 1.10). So this is probably no solution, but always worth a shot.
Diferent RADIOs are NOT the solution (I tried more than five radios).
I have tried more than 30 diferent ROMs in spanish and english, with WM6.1 and WM6.5, and no one go right with the Bluetooth.
I call Sony Ericson and they said that is normal because to save energy. It´s my first phones that disconect the bluetooth.
I've had all kinds of BT problems.
It usually turns of by itself, even in the middle of a call. (not so fun in the car, driving)
An I've also tried different ROM's and radios, no better.
BT is not very good on X1 I'm afraid... : (

A friend and me, we both have the same problem as described by jhbodle since approx 6 months back.
During almost every call the sound is transferred back to the phone (as if I would have shut down the headset).
The weird thing is that bluetooth is still on and the headset is still treated as if it would be connected, meaning that I can still end the call by pressing the call button on the headset.
I can get the sound back to the headset (during the conversation) in two ways:
By choosing "Turn hands-free off" and then "Turn hands-free on" from the phone, or by shutting down the headset and then starting it again.
We have narrowed it down to that this happens whenever the phone disconnects from dataconnection (which seems to happen from time to time when using Activesync with Push - it disconnects and then directly reconnects). It does not matter if the phone is in 3G or GSM mode.
Have any of you noticed any similar problems during calls?
We are using the Swedish Telenor network. It might be possible that they have changed something that triggers the dataconnection to reset, and you on other networks are not beeing disconnected and therefore have not noticed this issue?
Maybe most of you are not using your dataconnections that heavely?
Those who are - could you test to disconnect the dataconnection while in call with TB headset..?
My friend have kept his phone with stock ROMs - he have had this problem with 3 or more different headsets.
I am flashoholic and have tried every ROM release from the top five cookers since the Hard SPL release for the Xperia. I have had the phone replaced once for a month ago - I have had this problem with both phones.
Hope you can help me to narrow this problem down even more, and most of all, I would like to know if we are alone with this problem..?
I have searched the forum for similar problems, but only found this one, so I did not want to create a new thread even if I it should be in the "General" category...
Oops... apparently I did not search enough - i have now found some other threads discussing this issue, but without any solutions.
I know that the most common BT issue for everybody is the BT deactivating itself after a call (I have had this from time to time aswell -especially after I have installed the MSVC software).
I don't want to start cross linking and dubbel posting, so I will wait and see if anybody has something to add to my previous post over here...
Would be nice to know if others, having this issue, can also link this to the dataconnection disconnecting.
How long are you talking on the phone for? I don't talk on mine for more than a few minutes, but occasionally I do get the 30+ minute calls that I have to deal with and I've never had blue tooth just shut off for no apparent reason.
For both me and a friend of mine, this happens during most calls regardless of the call duration (my calls usually take between 30sec and 10 minutes).
Sometimes, when I know that the conversation will take time, I reroute the sound back to the headset, but the same thing can happen again during the same call.
As I said, for me this happens whenever dataconnection disconnects on the phone.
Are you using dataconnection alot? Could you please try to disconnect the dataconnection during a call?
thanks
