Hi,
i'm a regular rom flasher and confirmed dutty fan. As i await my 8gb sd card,( i currently have a 2gb), i'm wondering if anyone can show me how to make active synch, synch the files folder to the sd card.
I have scoured this forum and cant find anything specifically for the Kaiser. This would be incredibly useful as i could synch my work desktop to my phone.
cheers
You want the latest version of MobSync as you can set it up to sync any folders, anywhere on your WM unit.

Dear all,
can anyone of you give me a hint how I could access at least the storage card on my Herald WM6. I would't even need to sync, accessing the files would be just fine. Untill now I've played with WiMo (http://sourceforge.net/projects/wimo/), multisync, opensync, synce.
I've not tried bluetooth as I don't have bluetooth on the PC.
What do I miss?. Wht have I overlooked? Do I miss a driver, protocol or module?
Thanks for your help
wm6 was designed with microsoft's vista in mind. So the first problem is that your wm6 device will require the latest activesync version on the computer. Most linux emulators don't work with this version and can't emulate the latest active sync.
The solution is to either wait for new emulators, revert to windows xp instead of linux, or downgrade the wm6 to wm5 wich is more compatible with these emulators.
Search for wm5storage on google.
It allows to export your pocketpc as usb mass storage so you can mount it on any OS.
Have fun.
Yeah, thanks for this.
This is a real recommendation and all that I wanted to have for now. I can mount the storage card with read/write access and I can manage my files.
Thx
Awesome... I'm glad you guys posted this, bc this had come to mind the other day and I was wondering if it was possible.
Hi,
I see in the descr of the TyTn II that it comes with a business card scanner aplication.
Can someone tell me what this app is? Is the cab available somewhere?
Thanks
Business Card Software
The software that comes on the TyTN II is called WorldCard Mobile. I did not see it on the AT&T Tilt rom, but when I flashed to the HTC rom, it showed up.
It is OCR software that allows a picture to be taken of a business card then will take the information and import into your contacts. I have been looking for it as well and have not found it extracted as a cab within the forums.
thanks
I actually have found a copy of that program but it is a year old.
So it would be great if someone can extract it from the rom and put a cab here...
please do a search on business card scanner for the answer to this
The software is called WorldCard Mobile and it is only $25. You can buy it here : http://store.penpowerinc.com/mobile.html . I have tried it and it works as long as you have good lighting.
If this is something you would like then buy it and support the development of this product so they can keep making updates.
I added that app to my 8525 and it works great. I have installed it but not yet used it on the Tilt.
hi ,
I cant find my storage card in now rom ( the one with GPS)!
any idea or solution?
In Vista ?? Or in WinMo ?
In Windows Mobile you won't see your SD card. Period. It's not supported by the Shift.
In Vista, your SD card will dissapear quite often , after hibernating or so.
I expierenced that when you enable READYBOOST on the SD card, the SD Card will be found after a hibernation event. At least, it will be found more often.
There's a couple of threads on this subject already, try do a search or two , or just browse
Thanx M8.
the Q: is if i need to install nav software in WM what to do ? no enough space and some of nav software asking for memory card?!
by the way how did you mange to run or test nav in windows M,and vista ?
You are pretty much *****
If you like to install BIG stuff on the Windows Mobile side, your pretty much *****
There is just NO way you will be able to store more than aboput 20 Megabyte on your WinMo side, no access to your SD, nor to your Harddrive in Vista.
Maybe, in a distant future, the Shift Project Team will find a solution, but it may be even technically impossible...who knows... if there's no physical connection....
Note : From Vista, one can install a certificate to WinMo...using a button on Vista.... so...it is possible to move data from Vista to WinMo without liberation, without doing anything...so reversing that might give access to the HD, from winMo (far far fetched idea)
To use navigation on your litte gem, you could use the Canadian Rom with Telenav, buy a serial key, and navigate.
The most abvious option would be to install Sygic, PC Navigator 8, or (mostly not working on Vista) Autoroute 2007 / 2008 on Vista, and have an external Bluetooth GPS , or use the GPS from the Shift..
How to exactly configure Vista to get the GPS parsed from WinMo is still unclear to me.
Hi everybody,
I have tested many cooked roms for Rhodium with both Manila 2.1 and Manila 2.5. I congratulate all of you very good job!
What I mentioned, that ALL roms with landscape support are extremely slow after inserting the SD card (as well as applications which must use the card work very, very slowly). This problem does not exist if you install rom with Manilla 2.5 without landscape and after that you install landscape separately (using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=588476).
This solution is not perfect. If someone of rom cookers can solve this, it will be great job.
Thanks in advance...
im having no speed issues with NRG's 28011 dec 31 build of manila 2.5...i have programs installed on my sd card and i store all my music there as well...no lag in running any of these
Which class is your SD card?
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe this has something to do with the newer 2.5 roms supporting the documents tab, which likes to scan the entire phone/card for documents.
The link you posted is a 'hack' (a brilliant one!) to achieve landscape in older 2.5 roms and is not one released by HTC. The underlying system is different, is what I'm saying.
There are cabs floating around to disable the documents tab. You could try that and see if that's your problem.
The SD has been delivered with the phone. It's 8GB ScanDisk. I have very large map file (1.5GB) and the GPS software works very slowly. Without the SD everything is OK as well as if you install Manila 2.5 w/o landscape and then you add it - it seems that it is not problem with the card.
Thank for quick answer.
hi yeah disable the documents tab i dont have a slow manila on ark rhodium rom

... but what it means for my case?
I have unchecked the box of doc tab and restart the phone. No result.
I cannot find the cab file responsible for doc tab disabling. Any help?
I have made another test: if manila is turned off, everything goes well. It seems that is the manila problem, only.
I have tested this behaviour with almost all roms with Manila 2.5 listed here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=2115).
In each case the behaviour is the same: inserting SD card with enabled Manila means extremely slow performances of the phone.
I have used two various cards = the same effect.
No card nor Manila: everything is going properly...
Any ideas ...?
delete this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\HTCService]
"DocIndexerService"="DocIndexerService.dll"
then you should be good. it is somthing to do with the doc indexer service not working with our phones.

It must be something you have installed as i use ARKs rom which is Rhodium AF and too have a 8gig card and garmin mobile installed which maps are 1.5 gig and i also have several movies and a ton of music i have no issues with anything being slow i also have the documents tab enabled and have never had a slow down issue. everything is extreemly fast my memory runs at about 58 - 60%. maybe try to flash rom and insert you card and do not install anything first to see the affect then maybe try installing programs 1 by 1 to see which maybe causing a conflict.
Additionally, I have tested roms contained Manila 2.5 landscape but without Doc Tab.
Results the same.
I think that all rom cookers use the same background of landscape support which has big problem with SD card with big files.
I hope at least someone is able to solve this issue.
Thanks for advices... I am going to try them and let you know...

Yes you right... I've left just garmin and there were no problems... searching...
Dears,
Problem is solved. I have no idea why, but problem was cased by folder named "htc" which contained my old cabs for win 6.1 (kaiser).
Thank you very much all of you for help and I am waiting for new roms...
Bye
right guys iam a hd2 user and its easy to install android on there as it goes off memory card, ive gone through the forum and i got a bit lost as to what to do as its not got a memory card.and ive seen it as a cab file. any help woulkd be really good cheers
The Diamond has a memory card, it's just not removable. Just use the 'internal storage' where ever you were expecting to go to an SD card.
Did you find the threads about android on diamond?
Should be here somewhere in the ROM development section:
