If they ripped off a working video chipset and drivers, I'd buy it...

You don't need working drivers for that video - it's Liverpool - they always play in slow motion anyway so no problems with camera lag
"You don't need working drivers for that video - it's Liverpool - they always play in slow motion anyway so no problems with camera lag "
LOL !!!
Nice
Interestingly that endgadget article has a post that this phone does not actually run Windows Mobile... but some sort of rip-off.
Other sites that sell the device don't state WM6 (or any version) on their features list.
Does M$ charge alot for putting WM on a device? If so that could be one reason for the low price.
Plus it only has a 30 day warranty, I believe the tilt has a 1 year(?)
More here
http://www.ubergizmo.com/15/archives/2008/04/awang_a9000_clones_att_tilt.html
Uses "some sort of Windows Mobile operating system". The real one is already a buggy mess, go figure that one...LOL
I bet it will perform better than the Kaiser, and I'm not kidding (sadly).
It will probably perform better than the Kaiser because it is using a basic OS that is more like a calculator than a Windows Mobile.
So, it probably boots up in 5 seconds, switches apps in a fraction.
But it also probably doesn't have TouchFlo, PIE, or many of the other features that make the Kaiser/Tilt nice.
It is like any of the other numerous phones out there on the market (like from Verizon) that have a slide out keyboard with a proprietary OS.
This of course is assuming the statements above about it not being WM6 are true. If it indeed runs WM6 then I am sure the performance will be equivalent to the Kaiser.
Has anyone been eyeing up the Raspberry Pi? Soon to come out of the development stage into production. Looks like it would be a winner combined with a small touchscreen display and a port of ICS (with the phone stuff, etc, removed to enhance performance)
The details :The first product is about the size of a credit card, and is designed to plug into a TV or be combined with a touch screen accessory for a low cost tablet. The product will be available in two configurations: Model A and Model B. The expected price is $25 for a fully-configured Model-A system and around $35 for a Model B.

I know you wouldn't create a new thread without first searching, as specified in the rules which you read when you joined, so I assume there's something wrong with the search function. Would you like to let admin know it's not working or shall I?

Seems that they've fixed the graphic corruption bug, sound profiles, and CTIA earphones (like my old Apple iPod earphones) detection. Camera startup and photo taking seems faster too.

The year 2022 will see one of the fiercest battles in the history between Mediatek and Qualcomm where both these brands are ready with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets respectively to grab the flagship market. Which one of these would do you think would do better?
Moot competition. There will be newer chipsets that will supersede the performance of both 9000 and Gen 1 in 6 months.
Also both vendors don't support their chipsets for more than 2 years so history will remember these clowns for meteoric rise in e-waste.

Maybe, but perhaps everything works like this. Dimensity 9000 may be so good, but every good things gets old in some days.
I don't need no stinking support
