I have a two problems with e-mail on my kaiser. Firstly when creating a new hotmail e-mail account under messaging, PIE connects to the internet and displays windows live, which is fine, but it never adds an account together with the SMS and MMS accounts. Secondly i cannot download or send any attachments, I can see the attchment but there is no link to actually download it. Please help with this problem is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,
afaik hotmail does not support Pop3 or IMAP unless you pay for the account.
I however have a different question, sorry for highjacking!
I have 2 pop3 mail accounts. I just bought a 4 GB SD Card and wanted to save the attachements on my SD Card. However, I can not select the option "store attachements on storage card" (freely translated into english). The mail program does not find my card, it states that I have no card, it is there and is working with all other applications.
Any idea?

Is there an e-mail application that has an option to leave the e-mail to the server? I mean not to delete them? Like Outlook Express has as an option?
Use an IMAP server - this leaves the messages on there unless you delete them and then synchronise on your device.
Also, you can leave them on the server whilst using the Pop3 protocol - it should be something like "delete messages immediately" - make sure this isnt ticked and it should work.
the mail account I have is just POP3... There is not such an option...
Anything else I could try?
Are you serious? The standard email application doesn't have an option to leave email on the server for POP3?
The inbox for Pop3 does not delete messages. It defaults to leaving it on the server. Unless of course you delete it and resync.
nPop
Why don't you try nPop (http://www.nakka.com/soft/npop/index_eng.html)
Theres is a version for Windows and a version for Pocket PC
To tell the truth I haven't set up an e-mail account yet because I have a problem with the sim card.. But since there was no option about leaving messages on server I assumed it didn't!!! So, am I wrong?
No problem
If you are using Pocket PC Outlook (Inbox), you don't have any problem: it does not retrieve the messages from the server anyway.
Try WebIS Mail - I've used it for months now and find it really good. As an additional bonus, it's available free right now from Handango:

Thnak you all for your answers... I am OK with the e-mals, since it doesn't delete them from the server!!!
Is it possible to sync the contacts on a certain address book folder of the PC?
Sync POP desktop Mail box with PPC POP mailbox
Hi all
I feel that I am missing someting when it comes to the revolution of portable mail.
I have a desktop with outlook that picks up / Sends mail over pop.
I have a MDAIII with pocket outlook that picks up mail / send over pop.
I have activesync that puts my desktop mail on my MDAIII in pocket outlook.
now all this is fine since I can send and recive from both devices.
The porblem arises for me in the concept,
When at home I do my mail, then go out and check my mail over MDA then I reply to a mail and send.
If I do this over the activesync account it stays in the outbox untill I sync which is logical.
If I do it over the pop account it sends it.
What I would like to find is a mail program that lets me sync my mail "Sent items" from my MDA with my desktop.
In short how can I sync my MDA pop acount with a local outlook PST file to incure that I can send / Recive and have my sent items uptodate on both the desktop and MDA?
PS: I am a privat user thus dont have a exchange server.
is there a software which checks emails via HTTP.....caz i wanna use a software which can download emails from my hotmail account on ma pda ...........ne ideas guys ????
thnx in advnc

My understanding of Hotmail is that it is a web based mail system. I think (but am not sure) that you can upgrade for a fee to pop which allows you to download your mail to a e-mail client such as outlook. This would then work with the built in e-mail client on your PDA after you set up your pop account.
Mail itself can be sent in HTTP or plain text.

Click to collapse
ohk its same as yahoo i guess then...you have to purchase it for using it as a pop3.
thanks mate..
awesome news.......
use hotmail for free on your pda...
POP3: pop3hot.com
SMTP: mx01.hotmail.com
It's working like a charm on ma pda...
Coooooooool, Thanks, works fine for me
On my PC I have several pop3 accounts and was hoping to sync this all with my kaiser. I successfully performed the sync, however if on the phone I then create an email to send it will not actually send it until I reconnect the phone to the PC?
I have also created separate pop3 accounts on the phone, but of course if I send an email from the phone I have no way of then syncing that with my PC. I cannot even move or copy the email from the sent folder of the pop3 account to the sent folder of the Outlook directory on the phone.
Can anyone suggest anything? (I really don't want to upgrade to Exchange, as that would only solve the issue for one of my pop3 accounts.
Also, is there any way I can store all my messages on the memory card? I bought a 6GB card in the hope of mirroring my emails that are on the PC, but it appears I cannot do this according to the manual.
Any help on the above would be appreciated!
Cheers

Hi Everyone
First post so please go easy.
I hae set up my new tytnII for email, with two pop3 accounts and set it to synch with my outlook email on my laptop.
What I would like to do is to set the device to merge the pop3 email accounts into my outlook section and folder lists so that i can download emails on the device and then when i synch it all matches up. Otherwise I will get duplication on the device I think.
If I tap and hold on an email in a pop3 account folder i can move it to another folder in the same account folders but not to other pop3/outlook folders.
Can this be done?
Thanks
Tom
You won't get duplication. The e-mail you sync from your PC is entirely separate from e-mail you download directly. So you'll get each message exactly once on each platform that you pull it from. You'll probably want to make sure that the TyTN II is set not to delete messages when it retrieves them. But the sync won't cause the message to show twice on the PC - it's treated as a completely different message in a completely different data store.
Hi
I have been looking into this a little further and have found that if I run my email account by IMAP settings this synchronises with my online email account and so far works very well.
I have also done this with my outlook email on my laptop and this makes life much easier!!
So everytime I synch with either device with the IMAP settings regardless of where I read the email it changes its status etc on each device and online.
Awesome.
Cheers for your help.

hello, my name is Borja, and i´m from Spain.
i want to buy this HTC Kaiser.
but i have some questions, maybe you could help me.
my email works on a exchange 2003 server, and y use in my computer the microsoft outlook RPC over HTTP.
1. could i have all the folders that i have in exchange? so, if all my email have for example 1 GB, can i have all my email in my future Kaiser? not only inbox, i want to have inbox, all folders tha i have in my microsoft outlook.
1.a. with all the windows mobiles can i sincronice all folders? or only with the profesional edition?
2.i need to work recieving all day emails, i think pushemail is the perect solution, but do you think is the kaiser good for this? i say that if the batry y so good for all day.
3. if you dont think the kaiser is good, could you tell me any HTC (or other) that it could be good for me? i use to have 1gb in my account of exchange
thank you so much for all
regards
Yes, yes and yes.
As long as you have Exchange Server 2003 R2 or later and outlook web access on your server, you can have direct push syncing - with all folders.
The only issues are: if you use rules to move email to other folders, you wont be notified about new mail for those folders - only the inbox; and you dont want 1gb of mail on a mobile device... but thats easy to fix - a) set a date limit on the emails you want to sync and b) a size limit it syncs.
If you then wish to download a bigger email or attachment, you just click on it and select it to download.
thank you
thank you!!
i need have all my emails, so i can download the first 5kb of all emails and if i want to read the all email or the attach... i´ll donwload all message.
ok.
could i download all the emails to the SD card? or in the phone?
You can route the attachements to SD card, but not the emails.
Still, most space is used by the attachemnts anyway.
Is it possible to copy email from my s730 to Outlook2007 on my pc, without regular synchronization?
As mentioned before, email does not synchronize to outlook2007 on my computer (but contacts and calendar does):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369390
So is there a way to enter the s730 filesystem and copy the "email archive" to outlook2007?
I have not done it but I remember reading a thread about having your email stored on your memory card I believe, if its stored on there you can just copy it over to the pc. Dont quote me on that but IIRC there was a thread about having it stored on the card by default.
Have you asked your IT guys about RPC over HTTPS for Exchange?
What happens when you try to access the following page, replacing webmail.yourcompany.com with your web mail server address:
https://webmail.yourcompany.com/RPC/
Do you get prompted for a username and password?
These posts may be of some help, but just try above and see what happens.
