Wi-Fi application disapered - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hello everybody!
Could you help me with wi-fi manager CAB? After hardreset I can not configure wi-fi network on my Tytn II. Before HR all worked fine, but now i can just turn wi-fi on in my Comm Manager and in Settings choose Wireless LAN. Here I can see SSID, but can't change it. When I press Menu -> Wi-Fi, I come to Configuring Network Adapters, not Wi-Fi networks. Please, help me to install Wi-Fi manager.

Is the icon for also missing from 'Start Menu' 'Settings' 'Connections' ?
and if so look in the registry and see if..
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\WiFi key is still shown.
What model/carrier 'Kaiser' do you have and have you flashed the ROM?

Please help
In the 'Settings' 'Connections' I have only those icons:
Beam, Bluethoose, Comm Manager, Connection Setup, Connections, CSD Line Type, GPRS Settings, HSPDA, Network Cards, SMS Service, USB to PC, Wireless LAN. IDK if there should be Wi-Fi icon, but before HardReset, I could list WiFi networks available, and setup keys and settings.
In Registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\WiFi key is shown, it has not keys in, but it has two embedded folders with following keys:
EapolParam2
EapFlags 0
EapType 13
EapolParam1
EapFlags 0
EapType 25
I don't know, what it stands for. And I dont know how to find flash number.
I have pure Tytn II (USA) model
The problem arises when I (stupidly) push Clear Storage button in 'Settings' - 'System' and Hard Reseted device. But I didn't (may be) installed software responsible for WiFi

Clear Storage does not do a completely full hard reset but it may be best if no-one comes up with another alternative to do an actual hard reset (just goes back to as if you got it out of the box).
That is, hold the two soft keys (the ones with the dashes) and insert the stylus in the reset hole at the bottom until the screen clears.

connect / disconnect wireless and gprs manually

Hallo All,
I recently upgraded my imate PDA2K to windows mobile 5.
now in WM2003 there was this small app, the wireless manager, that allowed me to manually connect or disconnect the different networks (gprs, wifi, etc.)
I can't find this app anymore, I don't know if it was enough to copy a file from the old WM2003 device, so now to connect to, say, gprs, I need to actually DO something (like connecting to messenger etc) and when I'm done with browsing I need to wait until the connection is closed by the system.
is there a way to restore wm2003 behavior? maybe a program?
thanks
i've been wondering the same thing, and it wasn't a program it was party of win2003, you clikc on the gprs icon at the top and it lists your connections and then you can connect manually. Now it doesn't show that there are any networks and askes you to set it up. So my assumsion is that it's a registery thing because there was a key that changed the display on it, and it was a bug in an imate rom that made the red hangup button disconnect gprs, a reg hack fixed that. I just havn't been able to find the keys.
ok thanks...
but then, doesit mean that whenever I connect to gprs I have to wait for the os to turn it off?
looks lie a step back imo
if you hold down the hangup button it will disconnect your gprs, or i can give you the registery hack to add the disconnect button on the G icon bubble.
having the registry key would be wonderful!!
can you email it to me at [email protected] pls?
i would be most grateful
regedit this
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
"Flags2"=dword:00000000 = no button disconect in buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000008 = button disconect on buble con.
"Flags2"=dword:00000010 = button disconect and time con. on buble conection (hex)
those are your choices, i always set mine to 10, i like seeing the time and the disconnect button.
it worked! thanks a lot! i don't know why but i feel better now
*looks relieved for no particular reason*

issue with this ROM

I have used both versions of this ROM which I upgraded to from Summiter's 2.17 ROM. I have found one issue that I cannot identify why it keeps happening. On a daily basis the phone drops its data connection. I am able to make calls, show full signal strength but no data. Nothing that I have done seems to kick it back on. My only recourse is a soft reset which I have now had to start doing at least once every day.
I have no additional software on the device. I have kept it clean until I find the ROM version that I am most happy with.
Any advice?
EDIT: Check out the illustrated, step-by-step guide from Cingular:
https://cingular.atgnow.com/cng/tutorials/KB56475.html
But Cingular's proxy settings don't work for me, so instead, I just do this:
Tap Settings -> Connections
It will list two connections. What's the top connection? MediaNet?
Now, for the top connection, tap "Manage existing connections"
The radio button should be on "Cingular GPRS" (I don't think you want it to dial a phone number to connect to the Internet)
Next, tap the "Proxy Settings" tab.
"This network connects to the Internet" should be checked
"This network uses a proxy server"... I leave it un-checked.

Problem: Connection Setup – The operator does not exist in database??

In Connection Setup I chose country “Austria” and my Operator “T-mobile”. Data connections are working, so far so good.
Only problem is: After power on, or soft reset, my diamond always shows the following message: „Connection Setup – The operator does not exist in database. Contact the operator…”
I’m then forwarded to the connection settings screen. When I close that window (x), I return to home screen and everything works fine. But it’s just pretty annoying to click that message away every time!!
Please help!
In the program Setting - Connections - Connection Setup I had to disable the function "Auto Configuration". If this function is enabled the phone tries to find the network operator in his database. Unfortunately Paraguay is missing in this database.

I keep reading that....but still a bit confused. Once auto configuration is disabled....Country is USA....operators list still only shows the 3 too choose from...of which none of them are CENTENNIAL.
So how does he go about setting it up manually for Centennial?

How to permanently turn of Gprs/wap

When I am at home my Diamond always uses/turns on the Gprs and uses that rather than my Wi-fi connection.
I have changed all the settings and even turned data connections off but it still does it.
Anyone have a way to permanently turn it off ?
Thanks

have a look at modaco "no data" :
http://www.modaco.com/content/pocket-pc-software/246171/new-free-utility/
To disable it without extra software I do the following:
Go to Start-> Settings -> Connections.
Open the 'Connections' icon.
Go to Advanced and then 'Select Networks'
For both dropdown boxes click 'New...' and fill in some bogus name and phone number and click OK.

[Q] 826x ROM problem with Wireless Networks panel

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with this lovely 826x custom rom.
After switching ON WIFI radio - (describing default stock rom issue) - radio is searching for discoverable networks (Access Points) and presenting a list of them to an user - me.
Then I am able to choose network, proceed with few steps (of configuration) and connect with this AP.
But, in my 826x there is no any list with found APs so I can't choose.
The only way is to use MontsterWifi app or via CommManager applet but there is another problem with it. After selecting some position from this APs list (via CommManager) - it displays me panel with this AP, editbox for password, signal strength meter and for the last - button called "Wireless Networks" where I should be able to display another panel called "Configure Wireless Networks screen". When I click on it - it displays me "Networks Adapters" panel.
The same is happening after clicking "Menu"->"Settings"->"Connections"->"WIFI"->"Wireless Networks".
WIFI panel has only two buttons - "Wireless networks" and "Advanced" (excluding checkbox "Turn WIFI on").
For me, gray user, button called "Wireless Networks" should present complete list of discovered Access Points, but instead it sends me to the Netw. Adapters list.
WHY? What could I do with this?
Please help.
