Ok, so I called AT&T and they gave me 3 codes:
PUK code
SIM code
Subsidy code.
Now what to do.. Is there a how to on this?
Thanks.

Kaiser CID/SIM unlocker
What did you have to tell them to give you the codes?
Just put in a different provider's SIM and soft-reset, it'll pop up asking you for a subsidy unlock code, in which case you should enter code #3 that AT&T gave you.
Or, if you don't have another SIM card, you can run \Windows\SIMLock.exe and it should pop up with the same request for the subsidy unlock code ("SUCK code" )
Hope this helps!

Hi Guys,
I had to get a warranty replacement for my AT&T tilt.
They sent me a refurb, and I can't get it unlocked. I tried several places that I found on google and ebay, but everyone tells me that they cannot find my IMEI in AT&T's database.
I remember that there used to be (or still is) a peice of software that just calculates the unlock code based on the IMEI. They had this for Nokia phones. Doesn't anyone have something like this? Or is looking it up on a database the only way?
If the database is the only way, can anyone recommend software that will unlock it for me?

Will it work with WM 6.1 and Vista?
My tilt is a refurb, and when I got to review my account, there is a link for my unlock code. I click it and it gives me a code and instructions.
To unblock your SIM card, follow the instructions below on your phone.

PUK Code : *******
How to Unblock your SIM Card
You'll need your phone in hand to unblock your SIM Card.
1. First, enter the 8-digit PUK code, then press OK/Yes.
Note: Some Motorola phone users will need to enter **05* if "enter PUK" is not already displayed. After entering **05*, then enter the 8-digit PUK code and press OK.
2. Select a new PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
3. Re-enter the PIN code, then press OK/Yes.
4. If the codes were entered successfully, the phone is ready for use.

Did AT&T say they couldn't find the IMEI number in their database?

No, I didn't contact AT&T for that. I didn't think that they readily gave away the code. I tried to use a few online companies that sell codes. But they all told me that "the imei isn't in ATT's database."

You are confused about this. the PUK code is not for unblocking non native SIM cards. It is for unlocking the phone itself from being used. Not "unlocking" as in let me put any sim card in the phone.
I just contacted AT&T for the code, and they were going to give it to me, but they also said that they just don't have the code. He said usually they have the codes, but for my phone they didn't.
So back to my original question.
I looked at the software shown above, but I don't want to reflash my phone with a different ROM. I want to keep the AT&T ROM. Any suggestions?
Tell At&t to open a trouble ticket, they will e-mail htc and htc will give you the code. It happens all the time, especially for refurbs.
I'll give it a shot.
Thanks.

Bingo. It took them about a week to get back to me, but they gave it.
Just tell them you plan on taking a business trip, and require a local number there for your customers to contact you directly, and you cannot see life without your tilt.
i just recently had the same thing, so they sent a claim to Hewlett Packard which they said manufactures the phone and i just got the unlock code 2 days ago. Took 4 days, but i couldnt resist but to unlock it myself. I unlocked it and flashed the newest rom afterwards, it stays unlocked!

HOLY CRAP!!! It worked!!
I contacted AT&T via their online chat and did what you said, and they already emailed me the code today!!!
Awesome! Thank you for your help!!!
I just bought a g1 that is not unlocked, and I wondered if I have to have a tmobile sim card to unlock it.
No, the opposite, you need a sim card from another provider (along with the unlock code) to unlock it.

In The U.S., i saw you were not, you get the code from T-mobile unlike most other U.S. carriers they give it to you. Then any sim card other than an active T-mobile, even old non-active ones I have used as it just needs something to look against to enter the code. Here is the instructions....
T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: nnnnnnnn
IMEI: nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Unlock Code: nnnnnnnnnnnnnn
Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your HTC device.
1. Insert the foreign SIM card
2. Power on the device and the display should read "Please input unlock code"
3. Enter the unlock code and the device should display "Phone is unlocked."
4. Allow the phone to scan the network (or manually click on the antenna icon to do this)
It is very important that the instructions and SIM unlock code are entered correctly as listed. If you receive an error message while performing the instructions do not make any further attempts to unlock the handset. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. You will need to verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and contact Customer Care for support.
Thank You,
Sim Unlock Department
T-Mobile USA, Inc.
...I forget the time you need to be with them as I have for years....
How do I find out what my PINs are? I'd like to know so that I can change them to my own personal numbers. PIN 1 (Phone) says there is only 1 attempt left and I've never even tried to access it to change it. PIN2 (Sim Card) says there are 3 attempts left and again, I've never tried to access it.
T-Mobile's Technical Support say they have no idea what they are.
Anyway to access this information so that I can find out what they are?
Thanks.
Well, to no avail I SIM locked my phone. lol. I ended up having to call T-Mobile and request my PUK (Pin Unlock Code) to unblock it. Apparently, each and every SIM has their own unique PUK so what your PUK # is won't work for someone else.
SHOULD you ever happen to fall in to the unfortunate event that I managed to do just call your service provider and request the PUK #.
There are different steps to unblock phones on different services.
My service provider is T-Mobile, USA, and I will list the PUK process to unblock your T-Mobile service phone should you ever need it.
Request PUK from T-Mobile customer service.
Unlock PIN code (PUK) (when PIN is entered wrong 3 times) **05*PUK*NewPIN*NewPIN#
If nothing happened after pressing the "#", then press send.
e.g. **05*XXXXXXXX*NewPIN*NewPIN#
Hey guys, currently in Italy and tried to SIM unlock my phone using the instructions in BadBoyz Rom so I can use a Wind SIM, but my phone keeps asking for a pin then a puk code. Please help.
I think this is a code which was provided to you by your Service provider. If you enter puk code incorrectly 3-5 times your SIM will get blocked. Call your service provider and ask them what is the number or look for the original papers included with the SIM card and you will find the numbers.
