my kaiser threw a fit on the bus today, it detcted a 3g network which i tried to connect to but failed. then when i went to open opera mini it tried to install it even though it was there already and complained there was not enough space when there was loads. i ended up having to totally reinstall jbed to get it working again and ever since the power management has been whacko - in the past i could connect to an internet radio station and supend the devie with the audio still being output - this is no longer the case! now when i press the power button, all audio is killed (from core player) unless i have the htc audio manager playing something - if htc audio manager is paused or not running, core player flatly refuses to output audio if the device is suspended!? what the hell has gone wrong here and how do i get my original functionality back!?
what was also weird is that i had to software reset when i was on the bus to get my gprs conn back - when my kaiser had rebooted i was presented witha strange white blank window instead of my home screen plugins - a total of 3 soft resets were needed to get my home screen back!
anyone else experienced this weirdness?
not only all that but my alarm failed to go off this morning! causing me to be an hour late for work FFS - i put it to charge through an inactive usb overnight and the alarm has never failed to go off-what the hell is goij on here has my kaiser f*cked itself?
i would suggest flashing one of the roms on this site to the phone if you havent already. and remember.. flash the hard spl first before the rom...
im gonna try a hard reset tonight to see what that does - im a lil bit scared of flashing to a custom rom, never flashed before - i quite like the stock rom though, bar the tmobiel startup screen!

When I was using Helmi's 1.3.2 rom (I have since switched back to the latest WM2003 rom) I had some odd, seemingly hardware related, Issues:
*Back light randomly turned on and off, programs opened and closed and did random things, then the device would reboot.
*It would just randomly reboot.
*I would get a "Problem with bluetooth hardware" Error message when trying to scan for new devices some times, and I would have to soft reset.
*I could not turn off the screen in WMP while using A2DP
*The device would shut off completely and wouldn't turn back on occasionally, and the only way I could get to turn back on was to plug it in. After doing that, all the version numbers on the first boot screen would read "NONE" and I would have to soft reset the device several times to get the wireless working again.
I have taken very good care of my SX66 (I have only dropped it once), and these problems worry me...has anyone else experienced these?
I had also a lot of trouble after having installed a new version of WM5, because I forgot to wipe the memory clean (check step 9 - and especially 9.2 - in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Helmi). Just repeating this step will solve it... it dit for me. that's another thing I won't forget anymore
I'm having big trouble with my Diamond: some time ago it started to be slower (even after many soft resets) and then some appls started fail: I wasn't able to sync via USB any more and Opera wouldn't start.
I had a US Diamond originally unlocked, with stock rom.
After unsuccessfully trying with a hard reset, I installed HardSPL and flashed the new HTC stock rom:
Diamond_HTC_SPA 2.03.412.2
Radio 1.09.25.23
Now things are much worse!!! I'm still having the same problems, but now battery life was reduced to less than 6hs in stand by mode and it gets hot! I have to go everywhere with a charger...
Activesync only connects once just after flashing. But after the first sync (at least I got all my contacts) it always says it couldn't connect or find the device.
The new Opera 9.5 also worked only once or twice. Even after a soft reset the application doesn´t completly start, it never gets past the "loading.." image (and it never showed up in the standar task manager).
I tried to install FdcSoft TaskMgr 3.1 to see if any process was consuming the CPU, but this application always hangs just after launching with the progress bar at a third.
Any help would be much appretiated.
i think you have a faulty device.. because you're saying it stays hot even after hard resets in standby?
I've had my Sprint Touch Diamond pretty much as soon as they came out so in a couple of months it will be 1 year old. I've never really had that many issues until now.....
In the past month I have had to reset (ie return phone back to how it was when originally delivered) my phone 4 times !! And in every instance it's been because Touch Flo refuses to load.....
At first I thought it was because I was installing loads of [email protected] little applications etc, but I think it might be down to Microsoft my phone beta...... Although the program has helped me retrieve pretty much everything I needed to retrieve after each reset, it doesn't take long before it fails to sync and everything seems to go bad again.
Last night I tried un-installing the myphone beta app, and due to how slow everything runs when touch flo refuses to load I had to leave it over night...... By the time i got up in the morning it was un-installed and Touch Flo was running....
I re-booted my phone mid-morning today, and although Touch flo took around 5mins to load it did at least load, albeit with the following message...
cannot load \windows\myphoneruntime.exe which suggests it didn't fully install properly..... Anyway I decided to install a registry editor and see if i could find any rogue entries but I couldn't use the reg editor like i would on Windows XP for instance and so drew a blank.
To try and un-install my phone beta properly, I re-installed it and synced which went without a hitch. Then I rebooted my phone and again Touch Flo does not run.... So I'm almost certain something in this My Phone beta is a problem which is probably why its still in beta....
Just wondered if anyone else had similar problems / Issue's? And also if anyone can give me advice regarding the reg editor......
Thanks in advance....
Never had that problem with the TouchFlo 3D. although it does seem to be a bit slow at times. Have you tried just...blowing your phone, and reloading the stock sprint ROM? maybe just starting over fresh?
Re-instating the stock Sprint ROM is what I've had to do 4 times this month. Not 100% sure why I keep getting the issue back, but it does seem to be Microsft myphone Beta that is a constant link. Maybe I need to reset device 1 last time and manually re-instate contacts etc etc etc
It’s a simple calendar plugin that adds a tab to the TouchFlo 3D interface.
This is not a Cab Installation , so you will have to use transfer the files to your device via Active Sync / Mobile Device Center or using a File Explorer.

now load touch flo
same problem
I had a similar experience a few days ago. It seems I tried to sync via My Phone beta and then canceled it midway. After a few soft resets and wondering what was going on, I let My Phone sync again completely. After that everything was back up to speed but I uninstalled the beta ASAP. I was pretty happy with it but this is aggravating.
Same problem here!
In addition to this, The antenna shows no service (although service is active and I can make calls) and the phone's GUI is very slow to react to any action.
I have an old Juicy ROM (from last Fall) which I liked very much for its stability. I did install and run the beta application of geocaching.com for windows mobile and now TouchFlo won't start anymore no matter what I do to restart my phone.
I will have to back up everything and reinstall a new ROM hoping that this will fix the problem.
If anyone has an idea on how to fix this, let us know
[update]
The phone could not connect to ActiveSync and thus I was unable to flash a new ROM.
In order to resolve the issue, I cleared the storage (but left the internal storage intact) and rebooted. The phone was just fine after this, but I took the opportunity to install the latest Mighty ROM.
cheers.
Having the same problem with mine.... I had the original Sprint ROM on it when it started happening.
I initially tried a clear/erase everything from the OS (hard reset?) and that didn't help.
I tried updating it with the latest official ROM from Sprint/HTC. No dice.
Funny thing is if I wait like 12+ hours after turning it on, sometimes Touch Flo finally loads.
Other issues ive noticed while its acting like this is, opera crashes on load, active sync connects but wont sync contacts, and the battery life seems about half of what it normally is.
Short of the story is I am having Sprint send me a replacement.
I had the same problem and solved it by flashing mightyrom couldn't connect to activesync either so i had to hold power down volume and reset switch and do the flash from that coloured screen. i think it has something to do with a memory flaw and wipeing everything out solves it.
Hey I just discoverd some major problems with mine HTC Touch Diamond 2 (dutch release). The device run out of sound. Hitting the volume buttons will let you go to the volume menu but you can not hear a thing.
At that moment the battery was about 13%, 3G on and trying to watch a video clip on my pre-installed Youtube app. This app normally plays the video's and the sound. Now both things doesn't work. Also the menu sound is dead, booting up does not help. Somebody called me, it kills Youtube app at that moment (that's normal) and it freezed, but the vibration was still going on, I needed to soft reset.
I've shutdown the device and took out the battery. TD2 tools pr3 gave the information that the battery was around the 37,7 Celcius. After a minute of 5-10 I put back the battery in the device and got it to charge.
The latest things I've installed were S2P 0.83v (reinstalled it) and S2U2 2.41v, CHT 1.8.0 and CHT editor 1.8.0 I did that on monday evening. Three days later I've got problems. I don't think that one of the programs causes these problems.
That is strange, but a unfortunately hard reset should restore it.

Ouch.. I'd agree with Bruce, sad but true. If it means anything, it happens to almost all of us.
I know about hard resetting, did it several times.
What I did. Get out the battery for about 5 minutes max. After that I did a fully recharge untill the led turned green. After the recharge also got out the battery for another 5 minutes.
The it played the booting up sound and all other sounds again. Verry strange but lucky for me.
Sometimes the sound may disappear completely (but rare), usually a soft reset will solve the problem, especially when a call is in (with your ringtone on Main Memory) while a music player is running (play tracks on storage card)
Maybe there is a bug...

Hi,
I have a rooted GT-i9000m (bell Galaxy S Vibrant). I used the one click lag fix to root my phone and it works fine.
A few days ago out of no where all the apps started auto closing as soon as i opened them and then both the menu and back touch buttons lit up and the screen went black. I held the power down till it rebooted only to get and error with com.android.calendar even tho I never use the app. When it finish's booting none of my installed apps are showing.
The first time it happened with com.android.app and I did a full wipe and factory reset and just reinstalled everything.
Ideally I don't want to system reset to factory settings again and lose all my files and notes that i copied back on to the phone 2days ago...
Please note I have tried clearing the data for the calendar app in settings -> apps and i cleared the calendar back up. My problem is that none of my installed apps are showing...
(Update) I also cant reinstall or update apps due to a Installation error - Insufficient storage. But there's room on both SD cards. I also set 850mb for apps when i did the one click lag fix and i don't have 850mb of apps installed.
(Update 2) I did a factory reset again this time i didn't format the internal and external SD cards. (It works like new again) Thus I got to keep all my personal files and ring tones ect. The only thing that was deleted that I didn't back up is my Notes. This leads me to my new question whats best for backing up apps on a rooted SGS (bell Vibrant)?
If anyone has answers they would be much appreciated.
i had the same problem
install rom manager from the market place
there is a option in there "Fix Permissions" just run that and it will fix it up for you
only takes 1-2min to run
Tried what you said but i cant install anything... I get Installation Error - Insufficient storage available.
I now understand the cause of the problem. I change my battery once and some times twice a day. At first I would wait for the long shut down (untill the screen goes totaly black) and then take off the back and swap out the battery. At least 3 times the phone would boot up and ask me for the network unlock code (I bought the unlock code directly from bell for 75$). I found this rather annoying so i tried just taking the battery out wile it was on (idle) and it appeared to work flawlessly at least 20-30 times before the phone would start to do an endless force close loop cycle. This kept forcing me to do a factory reset on the phone. I can only assume the one click lag fix and my disregard for the need of the shutdown before removing the battery must be all the cause of my problems.
I will try and see if my phone is more stable with out the one click lag fix.
nope that is not the cause of the problem
but it sounds like you are another victim of the lag fixes that is killing your internal SD card.
not the fault of the lag fix, it just make the problem apear sooner than later
I have been having a similar issue and I'm using Voodoo lagfix. I think it's because I took the battery out before it had completely shut down.

Well the phone bit the dust today. I opened up google maps to look up an address and it crashed with the usual error. So i rebooted the phone and now it stays stuck at the boot logo. (the glowing S with both touch keys staying lit) So i did the recovery thing again but this time I had to do the Vol-up + home + power in order to get the phone working some what. IDK but it wont let me log into my google account to sync my contacts. My APN settings are correct and working and I even tried off my Wifi at home. I'll just hope its a google problem and not my phone acting up. Thanks for the pointer to the bad internal SD. That may be the problem kinda hard to prove it to Samy thoe...
I get force close errors after about 4-7 days of use. Now its gotten worse. A few days ago I was looking up an address and my phone crashed and rebooted it self. It then hug at the S boot logo for 20mins. I got to my friends apartment building to find my phone still stuck at this boot logo. I couldn't remember his apartment number or buzzer code... Normally i just check my contacts list and buzz the code. I was standing out side in the Canadian fall cold wind trying to get this phone to work... OMG i almost just smashed it on the spot. Anyways I remembered about something i had read on this forum about the recovery mode ( i had used it to root ) so i tried that out got the little menu and tried every option before having to do the dreaded factory reset. Well nothing work with the exception of the factory reset it got my phone working in about 5mins... LOL
Anyways I thought I might try upgrading the firmware when I got home. What a mistake... I cant control my phones MP3 player via my bluetooth car stereo any longer. Tried everything even a factory reset and formatting the internal and external SD's. I tried running it with out rooting it again and with out the lag fix in hopes that I wouldn't get a force close error. Wouldn't you know it about 5 hours after the factory reset un-rooted just after i finish coping over all my music. I get a force close error! So I tried again and this time the phone ran for about 30hours before it started giving me force close errors about the email now...
Sigh I've tried just about everything in my power to make this phone work. So I assumed it must be the phone... I called Samsung up to get a RMA going... Wouldn't you know it they tell me that I have to call my carrier to get it RMA/repaired. I try to explain that I bought the phone with out a contract and bought the unlock code from Bell so I could use it on Fido. They tell me to call Fido... ROFL Fido wouldn't even give me their APN settings when i got this phone so knew they would be of no help. They don't even have one android phone in their line up i tell the sammy rep. So they tell me I should go back to the Bell store I bought it from to get it repaired/RMA'ed.
I doubt Bell will be of much help but here's hoping.
Do you think my phone is broken, bad flash, buggy memory, ect and needs to be RMA'ed?
Update...
I got my phone back from repairs 2 weeks ago. They flat out replaced the phone for a new one. This was a huge headache for me because the new one wasn't unlocked. Took Bell 2 hours to get the new one unlocked wile my wife waited out side double parked downtown! (I thought it would be a quick pick up and I would be out) The blue-tooth works flawlessly again!!
Much to my dismay the replacement phone has started acting up much like my first one did. It gets several force close errors a day and has gotten to the point where it no longer can send or receive text messages (using Handcent). The stock Music Player app also force closes at random with more frequently. It looks like I got another Lemon. This time around I did NOT root, lag-fix, or flash firmware. I will be sending it for repairs as soon as I can afford to buy another phone to use wile this one is off at repairs. My back up phone is a 3~ year old Iphone3g that my son has made his... (cracked screen, vol rockers dont work, power button is jammed in, the LCD screen it self is bleeding on the top edge)
The Vibrant never let me down other than as a phone. As a divx player or using all-share it rocks! I use these features A LOT to play my 720p divx movies on any TV or the projector in the bedroom .
with that being said I might keep the phone just as a portable movie player to bring from place to place and put my sim in something more stable.
