I have an 8925 running mostly stock programs. Whenever I receive a text message the message opens scrolled all the way to the bottom. This makes the message appear blank until I scroll up. Is this normal? Is there a way to set the default to see the top part of the message?
I looked at the read_sms.htm. Everything seems normal.
Same here.
I am seeing this for both text msgs and emails from my IMAP account. They are not always scrolled to the bottom. It looks like there may be some "smarts" to skip the message header that do not work properly so the message opens in the middle or bottom rather than the top. Very annoying. Any fix?
Nevermind. Answered in other thread.
This thread is a dupe of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=354168 which has the fix.
Thanks for the heads up on the other message, the info in that thread fixed it.

Hello,
When i am opening a message (e-mail, SMS, MMS, etc.) the message it automaticly scrolled down. When it is a big e-mail it is no problem (i am in the middle in a e-mail at that moment). but when i am opening a text message, it is at the bottom of the message so i cant read anything and i have to scroll up!
It is really annoying, anywhone has the same problem, or a solution?
Thnx
p.s. i am using a original HTC with everything original.

Damn. Wrong thread
when I open a new message (mail, SMS) the focus inside the message is "in the middle" (means, that the scrollbar on right side is in the middle position). So I have to scroll up to be able to read the message from the beginning on. This appears only with long messages. With short messages, the focus is at the bottom, so I've again to scroll up to see the beginning of the message...
does anyone know about that, and how to get the messages open with the focus on the top?
Gerald
I just got a solution from a german forum: I disabled "D-Pad-Navigation enabled" from the section "Pocket-IE" inside Kaiser-Tweak-Tools.
Now everything works fine, messages get open now with the focus on the top!
Amazing!! That's the same solution that the last 8 people who started this thread got.....remarkable!!
FYI....there's a search tool on this forum.
So I've had this bug for a while now, I've tried all I can think of to fix it. There doesn't seem to be an option for anything like this.
Every time I refresh any of my email accounts, from the E-Mail app, my entire inbox jumps to the very bottom (oldest) email. I then have to scroll all the way back up to see my newest unread email in the inbox.
It's not a sorting issue because the actual cursor on the right jumps down to the bottom as well. Any ideas?

I don't use the stock email app but there's probably a setting somewhere for "autoadvance" maybe try changing that to newest?
Like I said in the original post, there are no settings in the email app for that kind of thing. The only thing that comes close to that category is "Sort by" but like I said it's not a sorting issue. If it were a sorting issue my cursor would stay at the top and I would see the oldest emails first, the end of the alphabet first, etc. Instead the cursor is jumping to the very bottom of my email list instead of refreshing and staying at the top where the new emails are.
In regards to autoadvance, that is just a way to tell it what you want to see after you delete an email from the full screen message vs deleting it in list view.
I didn't see a post about this so I want to see if anyone else is having this issue. When I first got the phone and was doing something on the phone and a text message came in, the top of the screen would drop down with the message and a bar to type to reply. For some reason now, when I am using the phone I get a really tiny floating text message and I can't reply to texts from the screen I'm on any longer. If I click the floating text message it opens the messenger app. Anyone else have this issue? Phone is completely stock and up to date.

To go back to how you want it, settings...display...edge screen...turn off edge lighting.
Or just use 2 fingers to pull down more options like "mark as read" and reply
I get notifications of messages and I can see them when they are first receievd but then they go nowhere. When I open "Messages", the folder is emp[ty and it says "There are no messages." This means that if I don't read an incoming Message (text) as it comes in, it's then gone forever from the watch. I've tried adjusting all the settings I can possibly find but no luck!
