Earlier I started a thread about being unable to sync.
But I don't think that is the problem, I just realised that I can no longer copy, move or delete files from either the PDA or the MC, I get an "access is denied, insufficient memory, make sure file is not set as read only or I don't have the permissions?
If I put my memory card in a reader it's OK.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
Thanks
Heloooo.....
Have you tried a soft reset of the PDA?

hey guys...i didnt find any other report about chevron's crashes...
i dont understand why!
all procedure is done...zune sdk tools and so on...when i start chevron and flag the 2 options instantly when press "unlock" the program crash...
i tryed to use all compatibility options and im admin on this account...im getting bored about this ehhehehe
Your pc's host file must NOT be read only. Chevron writes to it temporarily during the unlock. It will crash every time you click unlock if it is.
windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
I had the same Problem on my Windows 7 Notebook. Though I am admin on the NB, I found I had to run the Program as Administrator for it to work. It seems that the Program doesn't like UAC....
my host file is not Read Only...any other idea? i dont know maybe some particular driver for phone or something else
Virus? Malware?
Scan your pc first.
Disable antivirus, antimalware (live protections like TEA TIMER (spybot s&d))...

Try reinstalling Windows
Had same problem with Chevron, and I had set write permission to the hosts file, reformatted SDHC card (that was working fine) with SD Formatter tool, re-flashed WP7 fresh.. to no avail.. until I went into WP7 "settings" app > "about" > "reset your phone".
Once I did this, I had no problem connecting to Zune, and Chevron. There must be a flag that gets set by the reset activity... Hope this solves your problem too!
host rewritten
i have had no luck with any of the above suggesting, making sure the host was not set to read only did keep it from chevron from crashing but then the host file just gets rewritten again and unlocker wont communicate with phone
Hello,
Try this,,,
After pairing your device with zutune,
Start All the zutune services
(If you are using an AV with a firewall, you should allow ChevronW7 pass through.)
Run ChevronW7.exe after then.
That works for me.
My system is W7_64x and AVG

hi,
I also had the same problem, was the antivirus that did crash, it was enough to disable it, and unlock work fine
Hi Guys, I also had the same problem and this is how it worked for me.
Disable the VGA driver and then run zune and then the chevron program in Administrator mode. Hope that helps someone.... if it doesnt probably it can be a problem with your windows sys files or it can be antivirus or windows defender or other programs.....
First I tried to delete some files, but it kept saying "Permission denied". Then I tried to open a movie from the card, it didn't do anything. And nothing else works either...
I don't know if there's any connection between these, but I'd rather let you know that I downloaded some suspicious files. I hope the tablet hasn't got infected or something similar.
I used to have such a problem not so long time ago... I had to reset the tablet, I didn't have a better idea.
I hope this time we'r gonna work it out.
Thanks in advance.
are u talkin abt the internal card? chk the file permissions n c if u can remount them..
the external sd card might ve the lock switch turn on, u can manually turn it off.
yes, you're right, I've been talking about the internal. I go and check it out now.

The only fix is to.send it to Dell
do you really think so? Btw the last option would be to reset the whole device again. But at the moment the only problem is that I can't delete those suspicious files. The others have been fixed. Haven't I mentioned it? So I can open the files again.
Btw I've checked the permissions. I only can unmount it...probably after I could remount it, but I don't want to delete anything.

If it's stuck in Read Only mode even a factory reset done by you will not change anything, IF it's in Read Only mode. If it's some other bug you may get lucky and get it resolved

Hi,
Good Day. I just recently flashed my phone to the leaked jelle bean XXLSA 4.1.2 using odin. Everything is fine in my phone but every time i plug it in my PC, the files (Music, Videos, Pictures) are missing. Take note that my PC has detected my phone but once i open the folders where the files are, i cant see it. Please help..
Use usb switcher.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
yes it seems there is a known issue with the MTP mode. Load the phone as a mass storage and you should be able to see the files

Hi there,
I´m about to cry myself to bed tonight Just came home from vacation with my family and by accident I deleted the folder with ALL photos and videos I have taken..
So I have tried everything now to recover my files without any luck. I´m using a rooted HTC One (M7) with Trickdroid 5.6.0 and ClockworkMod 6.0.3.1. I found some recovery software for pc but the phone needs to be in USB mass storage mode in order for the recoverysoftware to work. But it is not possible to choose that mode in Trickdroid 5.6.
I triede to finde some UMS enabler on Playstore and also tried to use adb shell /system/bin/sdutil ums enable without any luck. I get an /system/bin/sh: sdutil not found message and now I´m tired and out of ideas.
Do you guys know any solution or workaround on how to fix this ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Pierre

The phone appears in windows as a portable device and not as usb mass storage. However I can browse all directories in windows but recovery software aps wont recognize the phone.

Nope Think your´re right about the MTP... Would be nice to have a recovery tool that works with that.

if you root your device maybe this could help: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.undelete
edit: or maybe this app (maybe works even without root): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexamob.androidrecyclebin

guess then there's no chance for you to get the pictures back (apart from really professional help, but this is expensive), because it seems that the data got already overwritten if these apps don't find anything...

ok.. sorry i have no more idea right now. the only tip i can give you is that it's important you don't reboot/shut down the device anymore, because this often overwrites stuff... maybe someone else has another idea left
