Kaiser/Tilt Ringtone Volume Increase - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi I was wondering if anyone new how to increase the ring volume on the Tilt. I did a couple of extensive searches and all of them came up for either older phones or different phone models. Also, I read somewhere that each HTC registry differs in some manner.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction to this fix.
I would also be interested in louder speaker phone volume too.
Thank you in advance.

get into your registry...HKEY_CURRENT_USER/control panel/sound catagories/ring. Here you will find2 setting at the bottom..."InitVol" ans "Speaker". Open these both, and change the "value" number higher than what you show. I have both set to 15...initvol was at 5, speaker was at 8 when I first got it. I also opened up the "alarm" file at the top of the tree and made sure that speaker value was set to 15 as well.
Now...I can hear it fine, but the dif. is pretty small. I read about this edit, but never heard back from the guy that posted it. I can't say for sure this is any kind of pro-approved method, as I am quite new to this phone/system myself. I had been hacking Motorolas till I got this a few weeks ago. I have no idea how high that value can be safely pushed, and by the looks of the device..the speaker is pretty small and weak anyway. Hope this helps..be careful..lol. Blow that lil speaker and you won't be hearing a thang!

Do a search for TCPMP. It is a media player. On the options>settings>select page> equalizer tab. check the "enabled" box and then "slowly" slide the "Pre-amp" slider to the right... trust me it will play louder!!!

So that volume tweak above is for ringer volume, what about external speaker volume (e.g. play music or hands free)?
What about the internal speaker volume for hearing the person on the other end of the phone?

I'm another newbie who'd like to know how to get to the registry...HKEY_CURRENT_USER/control panel/sound catagories/ring. after I already installed PHM RegEdit.
Thank you.

Thanks works like a charm i have a tilt with 6.1

I have known about these reg hacks for quite some time but they never work for me
i checked my dec values with this new ROM and my intvol was set at 0 and my speaker was at 1. i put them both to 5, the sound actually got lower but then higher, and lower then higher. weird
set both to 15..don't really notice a difference..

It's not that bad in Kaiser though. I used to have Eten M600 which was worse in many aspects of sounds volume, esp. loudspeaker. What we did was to replace the ril_gsm.dll with a patched one plus some reg hacks.
So maybe in this case if the reg hacks simply don't work or keep reverting back to its original value, then there's more to do than just registry. Just my 2.01 cents.

does anyone know how to increase the sound for incoming message?
please advise and thanks for the share

Speaker volume

Hi all,
Is there a registry tweak to increase the volume of the built-in speaker. I find that when the phone ringer is set to max volume I still find it quiet and often do not hear the phone ring.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I read somewhere that if you go to REG EDIT/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/CONTROL PANEL//SOUND CATAGORIES/RING......then to the setting "INITVOL"....then change the DWORD data to higher than it is (mine sits at 5...I jacked it to 15). Then soft-reset, and SUPPOSEDLY this makes the ring louder. There is also a setting right under this for "speaker", which was at 8 when I got mine...it is also now at 15.
Now, I honestly don't know how high this can be pushed, nor if it ACTUALLY does make it louder. I can say that i hear it fine...but man, if it does change it, it seems to change it very little...at least with the settings i use. I can also say it doesn't seem to have hurt anything. I asked around on the forums, and no one seems to have a better ansewer, nor can tell me if this is correct and just how high it can go. Hope this helps.
I seem to have the same problem any advice?
Volume
Reg tweaks is the answer...be careful tho....don't blow your speaker....you won't hear anything then
Thanks for the replies guys.

how can i increase volume?

i would like to know how to increase the overall volume of my 8925. the ringtone, speakerfone, and in call volume. does anyonee know what registry edits i can make to boost the volume?
dv8r942 said:
I put this up a couple times..this is what I read, as the speaker was the first complaint I had (not that I had many). Reg Edit/H_KEY_CURRENT_USER/CONTROL PANEL/SOUNDCATAGORIES/RING.....
Now there are 2 settings to be changed, according to the post I read, the author of which has not replied back to any of my inquiries..."Initvol" and "speaker". Hold each until you have the menu option to edit (or dub-clik and open them) you will see the numeric value, which can be easily changed. When I got my unit, Init was at 5, speaker was at 8. I jacked them both to 15. There is an increase, and poking around, I found that you can do the same for the "speaker" value in different areas (alarm, music..)
The dif is pretty slight, AND I also took all my tones and hiked the volume up to near-distortion levels...which also helped. You aint going to get "quality" tunage from this thing, I just need to hear it...lol. Now..what I do NOT know is just how high that setting can be jacked before it does damage. Nor have i been advised that there is some other, more appropriate way to pump it up. The speaker is small, weak, and on the back, so only so much can be done. What I DO know is this method has not caused any damage..and I am hearing it just fine now. Hope this helps.

Thank him!
i tried this but its still about only 70% as loud as my 8525
bump to the top
So E..how high did you go? I noticed you compared it to another phone, one I am not familiar with, and what I can add for ya is that the volume issue on THIS unit is the same for the other 2 phones I just purchased...those being a Blackjack 2 (only cuz ATT bought out my old provider and it was cheep...lol) AND...dun-dun-dun.....the nokia E90 (which, unfortunately WASN'T cheep).
I rigged up an old motorola V710 (remember THOSE days??!!) with a bunch of games and songs for my 7yr old daughter...and MAN...that little dinosaur was hurting my ears, WITHOUT any mods!! Point is...these fancy-schmancy units obviously need to sacrifice something to cram so much functionality into such a small package (guys, feel free to use this line on your significant other...if applicable). I don't use headphones, and I don't need these things as "music players", so I dont really mind too much...but we DO need to hear the damn things...lol.
How high did you set it?
Oh..and Unk, allow me to thank you for thanking me
well DV8
i set everything to 15 but the init volume keeps on resetting to 5 i dont know why. and also does the attenuation have anything to do with the volume?

Increase overall volume

Hi there,
Does enyone know if it's possible to increase the overall volume of the ringtone and sms sounds...? (some kind of tweak mabye) I've got it on max but often I must really on the vibration to notice a sms or call. I often only hear the sound very soft.
Thanks..
ps i've the system volume only on 3 bar's orso, but that shouldn't effect the ringvolume should it??
I too have this issue, sound is pretty quiet to be honest. The answer i got was not helpful, basically said live with it.
yup, it isnt any where near as loud as my K-JAM (Wizard) was, but then my K-JAM was no where near as loud as my Ericsson P900 was, etc etc...
the speaker phone is an absolute joke, unless you are in a sound controlled ultra quiet room.
it seems that with every new phone and the speakers get worse rather than better.
I also find the diamond to be too quiet. I am a truck driver who drives refrigerated wagons. When parked on a bay I use my phone to watch films or listen to podcasts. But with the sound of the fridge I cannot hear anything. My old tytn 2 was spot on for sound. Any reg hacks or third party programs to boost sound? I have looked without any luck. I may have to find a mini usb speaker.
Use a player with pre-amp; for example, CorePlayer.
coreplayer`s volume doesn`t have any effect to windows sounds.
he asked for sms and speach cenversation loudness.
There is a registry hack Swiftblade uses. It's been posted in his ROM thread in the ROM section. That should do the trick
Edit: here's the link to the thread. You'll have to find the right posting yourself, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408109
ok found it
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED"=dword:77
but when i look at my registry there is no ...\AUDIOGAIN why ??
i think you have to create a entry
no change, still quiet
I am annoyed by the low ringtone and text message alert volume, too. I'm using the bElite 0.95 ROM and I tried adding that entry to the registry. It did not change anything.
Well if the registry key isn't there I would assume the HTC audiogain application isn't installed, so there's nothing to read that value. Hence making any changes futile.
My advise: try finding the cab for that app, or try with another (perhaps stock) rom

Phone volume problem solved

Hi!
I love my Diamond, but it has one big problem - I wasn't able to hear it in noisy environments. I realized, that poor sound is somehow related with AudioPara3.csv file in Windows directory. I made some tests with this file and whoaaa... my phone is quite louder now. Now I wish to share it with you. Unzip the file, overwrite the old file with the new one in the Windows folder (make backup before) and soft reset the device. You must hear the difference..
I didn't test your file yet, I m sure it maye help, but I made some tests with CorePlayer by change the equalizer parameters and got little bit more volume but with distortion ,seems like the main problem is the speaker itself....
didn't hear any difference

AudioPara3.csv file contains volume and gain values for speaker and microphone. I've tested it, and by raising volume values to the maximum - nothing happened, by raising gain values to the maximum- volume is louder. IMO this is maximum, that Diamond's poor speaker can produce. I am satisfied with it, maybe someone can do more tests and get better result.
Btw, all sounds are louder now: ringtone, speakerphone, system volume, music playback, etc.

Replace with Total Commander; Windows Explorer isnt working...
I tried this and it really sounds like massive quality loss. This has to be tweaked much more.
Thanks, will give it a try, as I just need little more volume from speakers.
Thanks! Will try this out. If it works out well I would love to see this tweak/fix implemented in some cooked ROM's ^^
EDIT: This works out great! A bit load sometimes, and I can't lower the volume, but atleast I hear the phone ringing now
Well i tested it , and it works .
Really loud ! , i had to lower the volume again ..
Nice work !.
Thanks tripp! It really works! I use it with SRS WOW in which gives my Diamond the loudest sound it ever had
This is awesome thanks a million.
It is reallyyyyy loud now.
Do these settings apply to ringer?
Thanks again very cool of you

can u help me add audio para 3 files into my windows....i mean can u tell me all the step how to do to get audio para 3 files......thank you
Thanks. Worked perfect. It is a lot louder now. But needs a little tweaking because of distortion.
folks
i tried the total commander...
I was able to mke a backup of the existing file
but not able to copy the new file attached...
any detailed steps s very much appreciated..
VK
Thank you!
It works for me!
I don't have distortion problem. It is quite suitable for me.
mine is actually too loud, even on the lowest setting people around me can hear my conversation. can I use the same procedure to accomplish the opposite?
Excellent....
Definately looks like an enhancement worth carrying to the ACT and Diamond Tweaks...well done!

Boost Output Volume on 6.0

If youre like me and you like listening to your music with good headphones and want to feel that bass rumble in your head, you might have noticed that with the update to 6.0 (In my case to B565) the output volume might have gone down considerably and that now the max volume isnt just enough to make you eargasm. So i researched a lot and found out that the max volume settings are set in some .xml files located in /etc and /system/etc but the thing is that with huawei phones we dont just have to edit a single .xml file to raise our max volume, we have to edit a whole crap ton of them depending on our region, vendor, model etc.... So instead of having to open all those files and edit just the correct string, i found out that AlsaMixer (Available on google play) works just fine with out devices!! I also found out that the max output on 6.0 is stuck at 80% dont know why.
So, to get your 20% of max volume up, all you have to do is open AlsaMixer (or all those other .xml files if you like doing things the hard way ) and edit the lines:
-HISSC_SMT_HSL_GAIN (this is left headphone gain)
-HISSC_SMT_HSR_GAIN (this is right headphone gain)
Their default value will be 12, just go ahead and set that value to 15 which is the max value and enjoy your new volume
NOTE: There are tons of other strings you can edit to increase output of speaker, earpiece, etc...etc... but since I didnt need to increase these I didnt take the time to find out their variables, but if youre interested on increasing the speaker volume just open the .xml files and go to speaker and find the gain variable and change it with Alsa.
Hope I made your day

You might be able to do that with Tasker or a similar app. ALSA is only in charge of the sound.
tested and working good. only thing i noticed is that after i modify the value it wont save for the next time i use the player so i have to edit and apply again.
really thanks for sharing

So looking into AlsaMixer, this is an app for a rooted device. Is there any alternative methods? I just got my phone finally back up and going again after an IMEI loss and am a little scared to do anything further in the system like that.
Also the fact that the description on AlsaMixer doesn't say anything about supporting MM... Has the had any issues for you?

I dont think there are any other *effective* methods out there that dont imply rooting your device or something of that behaviour sorry. And yes it does support it, at least for me even though it says nothing.
Not a worry... I'll just have to build the courage up to rootmy device :/ ah well. Thanks for responding so soon

Exactly, you have to find the string for the speaker. (Be careful though because you could cause damage to the speaker)

You solved what? We already know about dolby atmos, but this is different.
Yes Dolby Atmos gets a little better sound quality than stock. But it doesnt boost output volume in any way or form. For that the only thing that works is editing the ALSA setting but for the speaker I dont know which string you have to edit because as i said im not interested in listening music through my phone speaker, i was just interested in boosting the volume from the headphones which I thought were too low. Anyhow I discourage everyone who wants to boost their speaker higher than stock, as this phones speaker sounds pretty high, even too high sometimes and you could risk damaging the speaker or braking it.

is it even possible to boost without root? i guess not. but app can probably deliver higher sound.
for root users theres usually a xml file in system/etc i can't tell which one it is since i'm first time huawei user but if u got root why not use viper4android it boosts the volume like
I would like to boost the volume only for my headphones. Which xml files should I edit? I am thinking of using a file explorer to edit the values on OP for this.
Thanks in advance.
Use the playback music controls xposed module. Its awesome and you can also change tracks using volume buttons if you like. The autoplay option is in the settings.
I've found out how to boosz permanently, I guess... System/etc/audio/hissc/mixer_paths_ALICE.xml
Open it with a text editor, and change HISSC_SMT_HSL_GAIN + HISSC_SMT_HSR_GAIN from 12 to 15.
