Hi there,
Does enyone know if it's possible to increase the overall volume of the ringtone and sms sounds...? (some kind of tweak mabye) I've got it on max but often I must really on the vibration to notice a sms or call. I often only hear the sound very soft.
Thanks..
ps i've the system volume only on 3 bar's orso, but that shouldn't effect the ringvolume should it??
I too have this issue, sound is pretty quiet to be honest. The answer i got was not helpful, basically said live with it.
yup, it isnt any where near as loud as my K-JAM (Wizard) was, but then my K-JAM was no where near as loud as my Ericsson P900 was, etc etc...
the speaker phone is an absolute joke, unless you are in a sound controlled ultra quiet room.
it seems that with every new phone and the speakers get worse rather than better.
I also find the diamond to be too quiet. I am a truck driver who drives refrigerated wagons. When parked on a bay I use my phone to watch films or listen to podcasts. But with the sound of the fridge I cannot hear anything. My old tytn 2 was spot on for sound. Any reg hacks or third party programs to boost sound? I have looked without any luck. I may have to find a mini usb speaker.
Use a player with pre-amp; for example, CorePlayer.
coreplayer`s volume doesn`t have any effect to windows sounds.
he asked for sms and speach cenversation loudness.
There is a registry hack Swiftblade uses. It's been posted in his ROM thread in the ROM section. That should do the trick
Edit: here's the link to the thread. You'll have to find the right posting yourself, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408109
ok found it
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED"=dword:77
but when i look at my registry there is no ...\AUDIOGAIN why ??
i think you have to create a entry
no change, still quiet
I am annoyed by the low ringtone and text message alert volume, too. I'm using the bElite 0.95 ROM and I tried adding that entry to the registry. It did not change anything.
Well if the registry key isn't there I would assume the HTC audiogain application isn't installed, so there's nothing to read that value. Hence making any changes futile.
My advise: try finding the cab for that app, or try with another (perhaps stock) rom

Not loud enough, how about the earphones?
Assuming you've mastered the volume slider or jog wheel on the side (see the instruction manual for further details on that) and it's already at maximum, the next step is to change the device you're listening through. I use the Kaisers speaker to output the TomTom Navigator 6 instructions when cycling around with the phone mounted on my bicycles handlebars, thats loud enough for me even in most traffic. If I plug in the original earphones though, when playing music on the train, I can get it very loud (unpleasantly so). If it's just the speaker volume you want to crank up, I suspect thats a hardware limitation of the tiny speaker and you'd risk damaging it even if there was a way to increase the signal going to it. Personally, I'm pleased the speaker isn't 'to' loud, it makes it less likely that yobs will want to create noise pollution with their 'music' from these devices on public transport!

I agree with you the volume is low period, either it be from headphones or internal speaker. Instead of wasting your time like Flying KiWi (dude, whats with your post, you just typing junk to get a post count up?) I will offer some suggestions.
I use TCMP (or CorePlayer) to play mp3's and there's an actual volume booster in the options. in core player to find this option, goto menu, tools, preferences, select page, audio, adjust Preamp accordingly.
Give it a shot, I think you will be pleased..
I Agree TCPMP has an excellent Audio / Preamp volume Increase that works excellent. Sure would be great if someone could create an app that would do the same to anything you use.
I use Resco Radio and the volume is too low at Max. I work in a factory where there's grinding going on with the compressor kicking in every few mins.
I end up having to switch to TCPMP to get enough volume to hear. I've Tried HTC Equalizer / Booster but it does nothing. Maybe someone could tweak it so it Does Work?

Well, are you sure your mp3 songs have been ripped to a good volume? Do they play at normal/loud levels in any other MP3 player (I'm assuming they're encoded in mp3 format) It's no use trying to crank up the volume with HTC Equaliser/Booster etc if your original song files are of low volume/quality...Then you'd have to use a Sound Normaliser/Booster like MP3 Gain on your PC etc to first boost and normalise the volume before you try and squeeze your device for every volume gain you can get...
i owned the htc wisard before and with the bridage_gain_headset.cab i had no pb to fix the volume up but by now i cant listen music without hearing everything around me :'(

I understand your post but I was talking about streaming radio from Resco Radio. Has nothing to do with .mp3 files.

Do you have that .cab? Can you post it? would like to fool with it. Thanks.
this is the bridage
Thanks! I'll let you know how or if it works out.
okay thx
Just one question. What exactly does this .cab do?
Its tiny -- only 1 kb. I installed it but not sure what it does. Does it just kick up the volume / registry setting?
I opened a few media players and it does seems louder but not sure. I will fool around with it more later.
Please Advise. Thanks.
yes change the registry setting..

Apologies, I totally misread your post. I use Resco Radio as well and my volume is OK there and I actually have to turn it down quite a bit...What ROM are you running? Maybe let's start there...I'll post my Resco Radio settings (screenshot) later if that helps...
yes maybe its because of this rom i run the originale french rom from htc...

Hi, I'm just using the Stock Rom TMO HTC Wing. Only thing I've done is change the pagepool to 4mb, which improved things alot. Resco Radio volume is fine except when I'm at work and all the machinery and compressors are running, which is like all day. I just need a little bit more, not much. TCPMP does it with preamp volume boost.
I can change the knob to one that has 11 instead of 10.

Well, you do know stock ROMs have been proved (SPB Benchmarks and others) to perform sub-optimally compared to "cooked" ones in many respects (file transfer speed, write speed etc inter alia)...I'm not suggesting you go out and start "flashing" cooked ROMs just to solve this but maybe a different stock ROM to start with...coz we're really trouble-shooting here to find out if it's a hardware (HTC Wing + resco Radio) or software (stock sound drivers, TCMP application etc) related limitation...

Yeah I hear ya. The only reason I don't wanna flash it is because its Warrantied by T-Mobile for one year. They've already replaced it two times. If I flash it, I'm on my own. After one year is up, yes, I'll start messing with it.
My Old Audiox 5600 worked much better once I flashed it from WM 2003 to WM5.
What about max level via a2dp?

Does anyone know if this affects overall sound volume. I listen to music on my Tilt via A2DP and the sound volume is so low it's almost unusable.
Hi I was wondering if anyone new how to increase the ring volume on the Tilt. I did a couple of extensive searches and all of them came up for either older phones or different phone models. Also, I read somewhere that each HTC registry differs in some manner.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone can point me in the right direction to this fix.
I would also be interested in louder speaker phone volume too.
Thank you in advance.
get into your registry...HKEY_CURRENT_USER/control panel/sound catagories/ring. Here you will find2 setting at the bottom..."InitVol" ans "Speaker". Open these both, and change the "value" number higher than what you show. I have both set to 15...initvol was at 5, speaker was at 8 when I first got it. I also opened up the "alarm" file at the top of the tree and made sure that speaker value was set to 15 as well.
Now...I can hear it fine, but the dif. is pretty small. I read about this edit, but never heard back from the guy that posted it. I can't say for sure this is any kind of pro-approved method, as I am quite new to this phone/system myself. I had been hacking Motorolas till I got this a few weeks ago. I have no idea how high that value can be safely pushed, and by the looks of the device..the speaker is pretty small and weak anyway. Hope this helps..be careful..lol. Blow that lil speaker and you won't be hearing a thang!

Do a search for TCPMP. It is a media player. On the options>settings>select page> equalizer tab. check the "enabled" box and then "slowly" slide the "Pre-amp" slider to the right... trust me it will play louder!!!
So that volume tweak above is for ringer volume, what about external speaker volume (e.g. play music or hands free)?
What about the internal speaker volume for hearing the person on the other end of the phone?
I'm another newbie who'd like to know how to get to the registry...HKEY_CURRENT_USER/control panel/sound catagories/ring. after I already installed PHM RegEdit.
Thank you.

Thanks works like a charm i have a tilt with 6.1
I have known about these reg hacks for quite some time but they never work for me
i checked my dec values with this new ROM and my intvol was set at 0 and my speaker was at 1. i put them both to 5, the sound actually got lower but then higher, and lower then higher. weird
set both to 15..don't really notice a difference..
It's not that bad in Kaiser though. I used to have Eten M600 which was worse in many aspects of sounds volume, esp. loudspeaker. What we did was to replace the ril_gsm.dll with a patched one plus some reg hacks.
So maybe in this case if the reg hacks simply don't work or keep reverting back to its original value, then there's more to do than just registry. Just my 2.01 cents.
does anyone know how to increase the sound for incoming message?
please advise and thanks for the share
is it possible to overclock/tune the audio settings and increase the sound that comes out from the speakers???
I hate the tilt speaker, its so quiet that i always miss my calls. Plus my headphones are louder not on my ear than playing music from the speaker.
mehh???
Can't do the phone for you, but get a player with pre-amp capability in the equaliser - like GSPlayer, or TCMP
G.
just tried gsplayer, its not loud either...
is there anyway to make the speaker louder for mp3's??? :/ atleast for the ring tone.
Download your ringtones from your pda to your pc and open them with an audio edit program (like audition or ...). Raise the volume and save it.
Put them on your pda
think you should go to a doctor
i had to decrease the speaker to 50% cause it was much to loud.
there will be no software-way to increase, cause it is limited to avoid hardware-problems with the speaker. try to open your kaiser and do some electonic-work
bye andré
Are you complaining about the ring tone volume? or the music volume?
If so then do the following using your computer:
1. Save the Ring Tones or the Music Files onto your Computer.
2. click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder/
3. On the Sound recorder, click File/Open/ ( open the Ring Tones you saved earlier or the music files)
4. Increase the volume and then save the file. You can re-record the saved file with another 25% volume increase.

Not offense meant, I'm talking from a professional point of view: go to a ENT specialist to check on your hearing capabilities. Especially if you're young, you may have damage from various club visits, etc.
If you're older, you may have had ISSHL without even noticing it.
Seriously: I'm 42 and the HTC TyTN II is VERY loud at the max volume setting(s), so you definetely have to check out your hearing capabilities. Even if you think you hear very well, it is possible that you hear only certain frequencies very well and others not.
Just a friendly advice, you don't have to agree.
the phone has its speaker on the rear side, which is sucks!
but then they couldnt place the speaker grills on the front either for sake of looks
i (and i am sure almost everybody) keep the phone with the lcd facing up so the speaker gets blocked and the sounds are muffled.
my nokia has its speaker on the top (not front) which sounds awesome even when in pant pockets..
seriously i think uk3 is fine..lol..nothing wrong with his ears
Take a look at your sound profile.
I was having the same problem until i checked that and noticed that it defaults at sound 40% ring 40%
knocked it up to 100% and all is well now
the sound for the default ringtone... (Ring Windows Mobile) is VERY loud when volume is at max. BUT the ringtone of the mp3 that i put into the /my documents/my ringtones are very low and unable to hear them when i have the phone in my pocket. I notice about a 50% in volume change.
This goes with the windows media/audio manager. It plays really low. My hearing is fine im only 18 lol

Not sure where or if it even exist on a default settings (i've got the 02 version of the Kaiser i.e the strealth) but i've got SPB phone suite installed so there is a icon on my today screen which I can just tap and set various profiles to ring and notification settings (set to 100% ring and 100% vibrate, 40% ring and vibrate, just vibrate etc.)
But as a test I did a hard reset (backed up everything with sprite backup first) and then played the default ringtone and it was very quiet , restored from my backup which had spb phone suite installed and the volume increased a lot
Hello folks ... actually my problem with Kaiser is different, as my speakers work so fine with both ring tones and music ... but my problem is with the ring back tone (RBT) which is the ringing tone you hear till the other party picks up the call ... I can barely know whether it's dialing or not ... anyone can give me the registry key/value to enhance this.
TIA

Dear Bros,
Find that HTC Diamond volume really soft...somtime even it ring also can't hear..listen mp3 also having a hard time..Is there any way to solve this issue??
Any programme or solution that can enhance the sound n vol quality?? Hope bros here can advise me. Thank u so much.
I agree compared to the S730 (my previous phone) the Diamond is about 1/2 the volume of the Wing at the Diamonds max setting
Download "Mp3 Gain" software and set your ringtones gain to "100". Now your phone will ring like big disco.
it can cause the quality to get bad though but for ringtones
the little speaker killed quality anyway

If it's just audio via the headphones check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410722&page=2 for a workaround for the audiobooster disabling itself every time you unplug headphones (and then not letting you re-enable it).
For the speaker volume, I think there are other threads in the forum, but I'm not sure if the protections put in place by default are safe to disable - aren't they there to make suer your small speakers are not damaged?
Guys on my x1 i am experiencing low volume when i set a call on speaker. Is this normal? I have cooked rom installed with TF3D. I have checked volume settings and its set to high. Any tweak i need to apply let me know.
