How To Solve HTC Diamond Volume - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Dear Bros,
Find that HTC Diamond volume really soft...somtime even it ring also can't hear..listen mp3 also having a hard time..Is there any way to solve this issue??
Any programme or solution that can enhance the sound n vol quality?? Hope bros here can advise me. Thank u so much.

I agree compared to the S730 (my previous phone) the Diamond is about 1/2 the volume of the Wing at the Diamonds max setting

Download "Mp3 Gain" software and set your ringtones gain to "100". Now your phone will ring like big disco.

it can cause the quality to get bad though but for ringtones
the little speaker killed quality anyway

If it's just audio via the headphones check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410722&page=2 for a workaround for the audiobooster disabling itself every time you unplug headphones (and then not letting you re-enable it).
For the speaker volume, I think there are other threads in the forum, but I'm not sure if the protections put in place by default are safe to disable - aren't they there to make suer your small speakers are not damaged?

increase speaker sound

is it possible to overclock/tune the audio settings and increase the sound that comes out from the speakers???
I hate the tilt speaker, its so quiet that i always miss my calls. Plus my headphones are louder not on my ear than playing music from the speaker.
mehh???
Can't do the phone for you, but get a player with pre-amp capability in the equaliser - like GSPlayer, or TCMP
G.
just tried gsplayer, its not loud either...
is there anyway to make the speaker louder for mp3's??? :/ atleast for the ring tone.
Download your ringtones from your pda to your pc and open them with an audio edit program (like audition or ...). Raise the volume and save it.
Put them on your pda
think you should go to a doctor
i had to decrease the speaker to 50% cause it was much to loud.
there will be no software-way to increase, cause it is limited to avoid hardware-problems with the speaker. try to open your kaiser and do some electonic-work
bye andré
Are you complaining about the ring tone volume? or the music volume?
If so then do the following using your computer:
1. Save the Ring Tones or the Music Files onto your Computer.
2. click on Start/All Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder/
3. On the Sound recorder, click File/Open/ ( open the Ring Tones you saved earlier or the music files)
4. Increase the volume and then save the file. You can re-record the saved file with another 25% volume increase.

Not offense meant, I'm talking from a professional point of view: go to a ENT specialist to check on your hearing capabilities. Especially if you're young, you may have damage from various club visits, etc.
If you're older, you may have had ISSHL without even noticing it.
Seriously: I'm 42 and the HTC TyTN II is VERY loud at the max volume setting(s), so you definetely have to check out your hearing capabilities. Even if you think you hear very well, it is possible that you hear only certain frequencies very well and others not.
Just a friendly advice, you don't have to agree.
the phone has its speaker on the rear side, which is sucks!
but then they couldnt place the speaker grills on the front either for sake of looks
i (and i am sure almost everybody) keep the phone with the lcd facing up so the speaker gets blocked and the sounds are muffled.
my nokia has its speaker on the top (not front) which sounds awesome even when in pant pockets..
seriously i think uk3 is fine..lol..nothing wrong with his ears
Take a look at your sound profile.
I was having the same problem until i checked that and noticed that it defaults at sound 40% ring 40%
knocked it up to 100% and all is well now
the sound for the default ringtone... (Ring Windows Mobile) is VERY loud when volume is at max. BUT the ringtone of the mp3 that i put into the /my documents/my ringtones are very low and unable to hear them when i have the phone in my pocket. I notice about a 50% in volume change.
This goes with the windows media/audio manager. It plays really low. My hearing is fine im only 18 lol

Can you let me know if you find a solution to this. The problem is real. Maybe we have DOA units. My speaker is bearely audible.

Not sure where or if it even exist on a default settings (i've got the 02 version of the Kaiser i.e the strealth) but i've got SPB phone suite installed so there is a icon on my today screen which I can just tap and set various profiles to ring and notification settings (set to 100% ring and 100% vibrate, 40% ring and vibrate, just vibrate etc.)
But as a test I did a hard reset (backed up everything with sprite backup first) and then played the default ringtone and it was very quiet , restored from my backup which had spb phone suite installed and the volume increased a lot
Hello folks ... actually my problem with Kaiser is different, as my speakers work so fine with both ring tones and music ... but my problem is with the ring back tone (RBT) which is the ringing tone you hear till the other party picks up the call ... I can barely know whether it's dialing or not ... anyone can give me the registry key/value to enhance this.
TIA
HI dude, try the SRS WOW HD app.
It works on my Kaiser
Here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355496&highlight=srs_wowhd_arm
The volume of the actual mp3 doesnt matter. I rerendered a mp3 to 20db more than it was.. and it still played the same volume on the phone... Is it just that the speaker of the kaiser is crappy?
Can anyone suggest agood custom setting
If u could clcik a Picture captuer & post it
Would help alot
Thank You

Increase overall volume

Hi there,
Does enyone know if it's possible to increase the overall volume of the ringtone and sms sounds...? (some kind of tweak mabye) I've got it on max but often I must really on the vibration to notice a sms or call. I often only hear the sound very soft.
Thanks..
ps i've the system volume only on 3 bar's orso, but that shouldn't effect the ringvolume should it??
I too have this issue, sound is pretty quiet to be honest. The answer i got was not helpful, basically said live with it.
yup, it isnt any where near as loud as my K-JAM (Wizard) was, but then my K-JAM was no where near as loud as my Ericsson P900 was, etc etc...
the speaker phone is an absolute joke, unless you are in a sound controlled ultra quiet room.
it seems that with every new phone and the speakers get worse rather than better.
I also find the diamond to be too quiet. I am a truck driver who drives refrigerated wagons. When parked on a bay I use my phone to watch films or listen to podcasts. But with the sound of the fridge I cannot hear anything. My old tytn 2 was spot on for sound. Any reg hacks or third party programs to boost sound? I have looked without any luck. I may have to find a mini usb speaker.
Use a player with pre-amp; for example, CorePlayer.
coreplayer`s volume doesn`t have any effect to windows sounds.
he asked for sms and speach cenversation loudness.
There is a registry hack Swiftblade uses. It's been posted in his ROM thread in the ROM section. That should do the trick
Edit: here's the link to the thread. You'll have to find the right posting yourself, though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408109
ok found it
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\AUDIOGAIN]
"EAC_GAIN_EMBEDDED"=dword:77
but when i look at my registry there is no ...\AUDIOGAIN why ??
i think you have to create a entry
no change, still quiet
I am annoyed by the low ringtone and text message alert volume, too. I'm using the bElite 0.95 ROM and I tried adding that entry to the registry. It did not change anything.
Well if the registry key isn't there I would assume the HTC audiogain application isn't installed, so there's nothing to read that value. Hence making any changes futile.
My advise: try finding the cab for that app, or try with another (perhaps stock) rom

MP3s too loud...

Hi guys, actually I haven't searched for this problem (doesnt work somehow :/)
so don't lynch me
I have one little problem with my xda diamond - it's too loud.
When I'm listening to music with the standard headset (haven't bought a 3,5mm adaptor yet) I'm always on the last bar and even sometimes that seems to loud (yeah, I have to admit, my ears are pretty sensitive - but that was never a problem with other mobiles). I'm afraid that if I buy that 3,5mm socket and use it with my standard headphones it will get even louder, because their output is very high....
I tried to reduce the volume in the options - I can reduce it to 2-3% which is optimal. But sometimes I get this horrible bug, that some songs are on 2-3% volum WAY louder than on 10 or 20%. Just imagine, you listen to a song and when it ends the next song just starts like "BAMBAMBAMBAM" and your ears are completly numb
Somebody knows how to fix this, or can recommend me a different player?
Would be very grateful
Cheers,
Kashik

other solutions?
Use mp3gain to adjust the volume of your tracks. This is done (losslessly and reversibly) by adjusting the gain settings encoded into the mp3.
I have all the tracks on my PC set to 92dB but I have increased that volume up to 95dB for the tracks on my Diamond
to make sure:
when you use the up and down volume keys, volume is changed 3 bars at a time (3 out of 15 bars). Have you noticed u can change the volume a bar at a time bij using the touch screen?

maybe its a specific problem with my diamond... anyways, maybe its because of the player - can you recommend me other players?
You haven't been very clear about which player you're actually using!
I assume it's the HTC audio manager in TF3D? You've adjusted the volume of the player (in Schaps Advanced Config or something) down to 2-3% and it's still too loud? Something wrong there.
Try the Windows Media player that should already be installed.
Have you tried downloading and using mp3gain as I suggested above? It sounds like part of your problem is mp3 tracks with wildly different levels.
Hi I don't know if you have tried this obvious sollution yet or not; however, I thought I should mention it anyway, just because I know that when people tend to get frustrated, sometimes the obvious just slips by us.
Remember you have two volume controls on your device when playing MP3's. Your Audio player volume and your main phone volume. Try reducing both until you reach the optimim output level. I know that this really does not solve the problem because really you should not have to do this, but it might work for now.

Like said above - wm player has its own volume control so try to reduce both
I just bought the bluetooth headset Jabra-3030, and the volume control on that headset acts as a audioplayer control, and not as general volume control (like HTC RC E100). So I can reduce the volume more and it's far better (because when I work I like a low low volume )

i'm using the TF3D integrated player. no i didnt try mp3gain yet. no at 2-3% it is perfectly fine - but sometimes the volume seems to explode, especially with some songs - i see the point there. where can i find the standard WM mp3player btw?
Start digging in Programs
I have the same problem - if I use TFL3D and the standart headset that comes with the device, music is WAY TOO LOUD, even when I bring the volume control to just one bar. Using another music player (even MP) works, but hey, there should be a solution to fix that in TFL3D as well!

Hmm. I use the music player in TFL3d too. And yup, the volume was a little too loud at first..
Here's a fix :
Using a registry editor, I've changed the following key values:
HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Config\music_player_volumn --> 20 (default: 100)
HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Information\volumn --> 20 (default: 100)
Music volume is now comfy, even at 3 to 4 bars

I have troubles with speaker on XDA Diamond

Okay guys, hello to all!
I have the same problem as SergeyBE told here:2-3 month ago I got installed "IncreaseVol.cab", it's was better sound during the call, but twoo weeks ago it's beginning rattling and noising. Now I can hear just durring the call just if I push the button "Speaker", if I play mp3, it's sounds like it have to be.
So my speaker (which one when I listening to someone during the call) so it blowed up Yeah, there is noise and really bad bad sound But that speaker which is for when phone is ringing or listening to the music works fine after the boost! Now my phone is repairing but I want to increase a ring volume and volume when listening to the music (or watching video) without increasing volume parametres for the speaker which is working during the call!
So can anyone help me here? Does anybody here have original audiopara3 file with increased only Ring volume and Multimedia volume? or can somebody here make it for me? thanks a lot in advance
so nobody here can help me?!!
really maybe you know what parameters do I need to change for boosting only ring speaker?
I think i have the same problem. After playing with some roms, especially the udk syrius HD rom (beta 4 and 5) wich boost the volume - i now have troubles with the speaker during a phone call.
The strange thing is:
- they hear me fine; so the mic is not the problem.
- if i use a bluetooth carkit, the reception is fine. No noise in the call.
- if i play music or watch youtube, the speakers are fine.
- but if i make a call, i get noise to a terrible extend that i can hardly understand what the other site is talking about.
yeah the same and I had - so you need only to change the speaker
but I don't now what to do now - I don;t want to blow my speaker again, so I wanna just an audiopara3 file to boost ring volume and that is all
If you are talking about German O2 Xda Daimond (like mine), I had the same problem after month of usage - my speaker first started cracking and then sound disappered at all. I got it fixed under warranty, they replaced it. Looks like it is some sort of hardware flaw.
so after this case you have changed again your audiopara3 file and now the sound is boosted yeah? during the call and when the phone rings?
I called HTC and they said it needs repair. By now the speaker looks totally broken.
Nice thing is that UPS picked up the phone at my house.
what is UPS?

easy... highly modded audiopara3.cvs can broke (partially) the small speaker membrane... it's not a issue of the modded file itself... but the membrane is very thin so a too high volume can make damages on long run
okay so how I know there is 2 speakers in Diamond - 1. External - for listening to the music, watching videos, when the phone rings
2. Internal, when you are listening to somebody during the call
so I want to know how to increase in audiopara3 parametres only for increasing external speaker, when the phone rings
is it possible?

[Q] How to make the speaker louder

I just bought my HD7 and the speaker is very low and i have it on level 30.
Is there any way of making it more loud??
Please for all the help that i can get.
Hi that is an issue with the HD7 and we are hoping MS will fix the issue with the future updates
You might have also noticed the camera is rubbish for long distance shots as well
and that you cant add a custom ringtone.
so stay put and hope they update our software quickly

To the original poster, what Hardware Revision is your phone? Mine is version 0002 and I find the speaker to be quite loud for ringing, notifications, and music. For Netflix, the volume is very low.
To the other posters... if your only contribution to this forum is stuff like "this phone is rubbish," please leave.
same with mine ringtones alerts and music sound is very low but playing games like bejewelled and metro blocks in game sounds and music is very very loud I have to turn it down.
Same issue here. One way around it is to use Chevron ringtone installer to get your own tunes onto the phone (works for alarms and alerts) but before you do use Audacity t increase the sound on the tune before converting to the correct format for the phone. I have done this and now my ringtone, alarms and alerts are plenty loud enough for noisy environments.
i used all the above.
To be exact on the games only the sound is loud..
The ringing of all the sounds that i tested is too low..
i cant ever hear it when its in my pocket and it rings..!!
I hope the ota update that is on its way, should fix the registry key that does all that.
lets hope , it is very low

Actually the volume is the same,l do not know what set up are You using but l test all 3 preset and volume is same. But still for all others if you have on your hd7 installed custom ringtones you can make this ringtones (edit the ringtone) in some app for editing music, and play with equalizers so you can have louder tones. Still my opinion is that hd7 has some software limitations-volume simple must be louder-common how can we hear phone in pockets or handy bags. New Nokia phones are much much loader so...HTC do SOMETHING!
also the speaker volume is maximum 10 in Hd7 is this the same for all the devices?

Just put your phone inside your pocket and walk on the street at some big cities like LA, or San Francisco, i bet nothing could warn you about the phone except the vibration of the phone itself.
The sound from outside world are so many and come to your ear the same time, how could you expect to hear your favorite ringtone from your god **** phone inside your pocket? Bring the external speaker and stick it on your ears, you will hear it!
I don't know about you guys phone, i can hear my ringtone from my HD7 while i am talking to friend at the hall.
When i used a TPU material case (harder than silicon but more flexible than hard plastic case) seems to absorb sound leakage from phone build (HD7 has 'flimsy' batter case). Immediately after installing, sounds like ringtones ard keyboard tapping sounds have improved noticeably. Hopefully this gives u a temp fix...
