Tilt with T-Mobile Sim Card - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I just got the Tilt and have unlocked it but I had to use my spare Roger's Sim Card for the Tilt to recognize the sim card. The Tilt doesn't recognize the T-Mobile sim card when I insert it. On my other phones it will read it. The sim card is about 3 years old, not sure if the Tilt only accepts larger size sim cards or what. Is there any way to fix this?

How did you unlock it?
It's not necessarily larger sim cards, but 3G sim cards if you need to use 3G. But it shouldn't affect your voice signal.

I inserted a different Sim card other than AT&T, asked for the unlock code and I entered it. Unlock was sucessfull but only with the Roger's sim card, I use that when I travel to Canada. My primary carrier is T-mobile, anytime I insert the T-mobile sim, the tilt says the sim card is missing. I thought there was something wrong with the actual sim card but I just placed them in my K800i and w810 phone and saw the sim card with no problem. I don't care for 3g since T-mobile doesn't support it yet.

Did you try to go into network under the phone settings, and select automatic?

It is set to automatic, the problem is that the Tilt believes there is no sim in the slot when the sim card is in the slot.

if the sim is 3 years old it maybe the sim is actually too old for newer devices
we have found this with some devices with some vodafone devices.

I work on all mobiles (In the US) for a living and due to the old SIM revision, it is too old to be recognized in newer devices software. If you go to the T-Mobile store and buy a new SIM for $15 they will move your service to the new SIM and the Tilt will read it.

My TyTn II doesnt recognize my SIM card

I had bought a AT&T Tilt off ebay and in the States it works with my Cingular network. However when I travel as I am now in Greece and use the Cosmote SIM card it states that the SIM is not inserted and thus I am stuck. Cosmote runs on the 900/1800 network and Cingular runs on the 850/1900. The TyTn II is supposed to work on each and every frequency. It was supposed to be unlocked when I bought it but I don't know exactly what to do now.
Anyone help?
The Card is not even recognized, this points more to a broken SIM Card. The TyTn Can operate in all these Frequenzies and would prompt an error that this device is locked to another network if it wasn't unlocked. So this error message is more like there is no SIM Card inserted.
Have you tried it in another phone? cleaned the metallic contacts of the Chip?
Maybe you can try the unlocker program, to make shore it really is unlocked.

Try to check on Phone settings if Network selection, Type and Band are in automatic mode.

The Cosmote SIM I have for my TyTn works great in my friends K1 Motorola KRZR and his brother's RAZR...Both of which were unlocked in the US and also have greek SIM cards.
Does there need to be a special 3G SIM card inserted for the device to operate?
For the link

Its telling me I have to pay to check if its unlocked....I don't want to shell out $40 for something that "might" be done already
My v1615 (with Vodafone) showed the same error after owning the phone for 2hrs! Vodafone confirmed the device had a hardware fault and issued a replacement straight away - new handset has been fine.
I'm not saying that's the case with yours but it's already highlighted to me that the stability of these phones can be flaky at times (having been warned by several people before buying)

T-Mobile sim card in Verizon phone?

I just tried fixing a broken Verizon HTC One M7. I only have a T-Mobile sim card to test it out. I just wanted to see if the sim card reader is working but it says No Sim Card with the tmobile sim card in. Is this normal or is this indicating that the sim card reader is not working?
Thanks

[Q] Unlocked Lumia 928 doesn't recognize prepaid SIM cards anymore

My daughter is using unlocked Lumia 928 with a prepaid SIM card.
Everything went really fine until she spent all of her balance and I had to loan my second SIM card (not prepaid) to her.
OK, after a while I purchased her some more balance and she placed that prepaid SIM card to her phone. The phone asks for SIM pin code but there's no network coverage at all.
OK, I loaned my second SIM card (once again) and the phone worked just OK.
Then I took that prepaid SIM card and tried it to another phone. Worked without any problems.
So somehow that Lumia 928 won't accept that prepaid SIM card anymore after trying another SIM card. I've tried both soft and hard resets but nothing seems to work. Any hints how to solve this problem and make this Lumia 928 to accept prepaid SIM cards once again???

Dual SIM Note 8 Poor Network connection

I've got my phone setup with a Fido (Canada) data SIM and MTN (Nigeria) SIM for roaming in the second slot. I am using a sim adapter so a 128gb Samsung memory card is also hooked in. For some reason the MTN roaming SIM will not receive calls, most callers to that SIM card are told the number isn't available. However, if I switch off the second data SIM, the First SIM will then be able to receive calls without any problems. I've taken out the sim adapter and memory card, but this still persists.
Has anyone experienced this before or know a way to fix this?

So the phone is not a dual-SIM phone, it is only with the "adapter"?
It is a dual SIM phone alright. These hybrid dual SIM can either take two SIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card. If you want all 3, then you need to use an adapter to achieve that.

Dual sim but only 1 carrier for data

I have a dual sim N9 from Globe Philippines. I just realized that despite it being dual sim, only the slot where the Globe sim card is placed can access data. I want to be able to choose which sim card I'll use for data. There are places where signal is better for the other brand sim so it's only logical to shift to that carrier's service. Is there a way to do that without having to sim unlock the phone?
