Uninstalled SPB Pocket Plus - Something's Missing

Oh knowledgable HTC folk,
I'm sure I've seen something on this but multiple searches have found nothing ...
I've uninstalled SPB Pocket Plus 4 (I have a registered 3 but was trying 4) and I've lost the HTC close/menu button on the top right of the home screen. Now, the close button only minimises apps rather than closes them fully.
How do I get this button / feature back ... please ...

cr*p, I've really tried to avoid this since getting my device about a month ago... Would I be able to backup/restore everything to current state or would it result in the same thing (I presume the worst but just asking)?
Oh, well: I guess it will give me an excuse to load one of the great new ROM's out there. I was hoping to wait for an update with the video drivers first though...

All you have to do is go to the Pocket Plus options screen & uncheck the close button option.

Do you mean I should reinstall PP and then go to the options screen ... ?

First go into settings > system > task manager (if it's there) and try to turn on the close button feature. If it's not there, then follow below:
Reinstall of PP4 may or may not work now that you've uninstalled PP4, but it's worth a try.
Also, if you want the HTC task manager back, you can get it here in cab form and it will work fine once installed.

You're a GENIUS - I've just reinstalled the Task cab from the collection here and it seems to be back to normal

Which task manager cab?
Which task manager cab did you install; there are two but no note about the difference between them. Thanks.

Here's the lastest version that I've been able to find and it works good....

Actually, it was late and the only one I saw when looking quickly through was wktask1_1170 (in the cab collection). I guess this is the OEM version(?).
Is there any advantage for me uninstalling this and installing the latest version (presumably a local customised version)?

that's not the HTC tassk manager, that is a totally different task manager.

Interesting ....
It did exactly what I expected and what was on the phone in the first place (tiny drop down menu top right corner of today screen, properly closes programs, etc.)
Having said that, I've just checked my "Remove Programs" list and indeed, it says "waku WkTASK"; doesn't sound very OEM to me. Does work correctly though.
Is there any advantage to the other Task Managers that have been mentioned?

no, actually wktask has more functionality, maybe too much. Are you using a custom ROM? I ask because wktask doesn't come standard in the OEM ROMs.
The HTC version is just a task manager. You can find a screenshot here:

No, I'm just using the standard ROM that came with the phone. For the task manager, I just went to the directory here and picked the first file that I saw with "Task" in the title ....
I confirm again: it does work though
I am thinking about a custom ROM but am 1> fairly confused about the range out there and b> am waiting for a critical benefit such as the new video drivers.

well no rom is going to have video drivers, at least for now. that would have to come from HTC.
as for which rom to choose, Dutty's are some of the best. Which ever one you choose, make sure to research these forums to get other people's opinions first.

I dont suppose you went to Settings > Personal > Today > Items(tab) and adjusted your settings.

Connect device to PC. Use Active Sync to move the (unopened/unextracted) CAB file to your device (storage card or if not main memory).
Then on the device use file explorer to find the CAB and tap on it to install it. Choose install to main memory for this CAB.
AND follow above posters advice to ensure the plugin is set to show on the Today Screen.

ditched the original link and downloaded schen's version on these very forums. so far so good!

look for schen's HTC Home at pocketemu.com. Then download HTC Home Customizer from the same Link and use it to customize your HTC Home.

HHC can do it for you under one of its tabs
or
Go to the weather tab on HTC Home, tap on your city name and change it from the Menu option corrosponding to the right soft key.
Play around with it first and see if you can figure things out.

I downloaded the home plug and schen's cab, but the today screen only appears as the HTC home plug should appear. I tried reinstalling the cab file, but nothing changed. I can't find it under settings.

I'm not even gonna bother deleting my previous post here. That was dumb of me. I thought I was to look around in the settings... Then I checked programs. You may now bash.

Screen not responding to the stylus?
I can not for the life of me get my stylus to work on my tilt. this is my first touch device but im sure its not hard. i can tap the screen and im fine but when i go to use the stylus it wont respond. could i have disabled something by accident?

Have a screen protector??? May need to adjust the sensitivity. Don't have the exact key, but I know it's in several posts. try filtering your search with the term pressure threshold.

No, it happened to me today too
Tilt w/Duttys latest.
I was reading email, when suddenly the touch screen stopped working. I could use the DPad, but no response to touch. Opened and closed the keyboard, still no response. Soft booted and it went back to normal.

I have had it happen 2 or 3 times on my tilt with dutty previous release. Rebooted and it went back to normal.

The problem is usually related to FTouchFlo, a simple soft reset cures the issue. If you don't have FTouchFlo installed, I'm not sure what could be causing it

I can also say that the issue is coming from touchflo. happened to me twice before so i've just disabled touchflo and hasn't happened since.

I did everything in it, but sometimes my screen stops and freezes for a few seconds. Sometimes it gets so bad that it freezes like every 20 or 30 seconds when I am typing something using the stylus. I don't think I have touchflow because I never installed it. I just have the stock HTC rom.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

same here. i removed touchflo all together

i got it working again. just had to realign the screen.

What we browser are you using?
I have an att tilt so i have internet explorer mobile and im not really feelin it to much. what browser are you guys using?

What is happening to my start menu?

Hi board,
Lately my start menu has been disapearing! I can still see the icons there but any writing listing the program is gone and the background is white. When I do a soft reset everything comes back, but this has been happening daily now! I installed the new ROM from AT&T could this be the issue? Any suggestions to stop this would be appreciated!!

I also had this problem, and i don't use that ROM.
the only thing i notice is that if you go in and change one thing in the menu settings (in settings), ad one program to start menu or take away one.
then you have the right start menu a wile, than the problem comes agen.
and after that my ok button stop working, both the hard key and the one in right top.
did a hard reset and for now the problem is gone, but i have not installd all programs that i had before.
The problem most come from some other software that we both have had installd.

are u using slithers C++ cube? Apparantly this can cause this problem. Try uninstalling the cube, or enabling the HTC Large Start menu (that fixed it 4 me).

WoW...When I got the reply about enabling HTC large menu I thought it was already installed on my phone and somehow could not find it, didn't know it was another program that needed to be installed....

Apparantly it is caused by App's havnig a ++ (or maybe +) in their Shortcut.
That was the cause of the problem by Slither's Cube.
Try clearing your recent Items. And removing and shortcuts with pluses in (if any).

I noticed this problem on an emulator after installing the C++ cube. So it shouldn't have anything to do with the ROM or the Kaiser in general.

HTC Task MANAGER

I have downloaded and installed this program several times over last 2 days, and I just cannot find any sign of when it is installed! Am using an HTC TytnII with WM6, with TM installed to device memory. Help anyone. Thanks. (PS Sorry if I am being thick - which is very possible)

Most add a setting into the System Tab (called X Button or task manager) under Start > Settings. The actual task manager is in the top right of your device, when you are on the today screen. Press the screen where the "X" usaually is and a list of open "programs" will appear.
If this isn't the case, which CAB did you install?

Fab, thanks, found it and its there just as you said! BTW I have being trying to find a today plug-in I must have downloaded a few months ago - that sits at bottomof screen nad allows you to view and close all open apps - c, deleted it by mistake, cant remember program name and cant find it! Doh! Any ideas?

It might be an O2 plugin, but I'm not sure. I only had my stock ROM for 2 weeks

Hello I've a problem ( of course HTC Diamond P3700 with WM6 standard rom )
When I click on Start menu, the first row includes the applications I've lately used. This is inconvenient during calls, because programs on top of the menu start by theirself when accidentally I hit the screen.
Is it possible to hide this list of program i've lately used? Of course I don't need something that cleans this list, I need something that hides 4 it forever.

I assume you mean 6.1 not 6.0 lol try going to device/windows/startmenu/programs and delete all the links then check in settings - start menu and make sure sumat like display recently used programs or sumat isnt checked `

I cant understand. In settings->Start I can only check programs I want in Start Menu ( the others will be showed in program task ).I cant see anything like "Display recently used programs" or something like that...can U be more clear? thank you
