When I used a bluetooth connection from my Kaiser to my Laptop (Windows XP) I had the option to use the phone through the PC.
My main PC has Vista and I connect the phone through a cradle. Is there any way to operate, make calls, send texts etc through the PC without using Bluetooth?
Should I assume that means it can't be done?

Are you talking about using your TyTN II as a modem to connect to the internet through your PC?
If so, is your PC running XP or Vista? And is it wirelessly enabled or do you need a bluetooth dongle for your PC to recognise othe bluetooth devices?
Nopes, i mean in the past in my old palm tx with a bluetooth adaptor plug to my pc i use internet with a pan connection i think, that can be done with the tytn II?
To use device to connect : Just turn on Internet Connection SHaring on your device (selecting BT) and then connect to it as a BTPAN on pc
To use pc to shre web with device, just connect activesync over BT and the device can then use the pc's web connection.
Hi, where can i find "internet conection sharing"
using wm6
its internet sharing and you can find it on programs menu
I'm trying to set my laptop up to use the td2 to get a connection to the internet. can this be done either via bluetooth wiFi or USB. I have tried to add a bluetooth network connection but the laptop keeps giving an error saying could not connect to the remote device.
When I plug mine into my laptop via USB, I get an option on the device to 'internet share'. Does this not happen for you? I'm not sure whether Windows Mobile Device Center is also needed, but it may be!
I did this today using a Macbook. The USB did not work on the Mac but Bluetooth did. I had to connect to the phone from the computer using ordinary bluetooth first (without network). Then I had to choose Internet Connection on the phone using Bluetooth PAN - which I assume is Bluetooth network. Also had to select Bluetooth PAN on Macbook - was a bit fiddly but it worked. Anyway it does work with USB on the PC see post 16 of the thread here.
cheers both, i will check out the other thread but when I connect the phone via USB to this (work) laptop, I get nothing. My home one uses Vista and Mobile Device Centre, but my work one uses XP.
typically, after a reboot the phone gives of the option to shart internet sharing but the laptop wants to install a rndis connection, but the only way to do this is connect to internet. ironic.
Ok, finally have a proper Interenet connection and downloaded Activesync 4.5 from MS. This looks like it will resolve the situation.
I can leave my phone "connected" via bluetooth to my pc, but the question is , is there a software wherein I can fully control the phone function via PC? I want to make calls, answer calls handsfree via PC. Can my windows pc's mic serve as the Phone's Mic?
For contolling your device fully from a pc you can use software like pocket controller. Though i think that using your pc mic as phone mic would be a problem i think. maybe you can use a bt headset for this issue.
Best of luck
I currently use MyMobiler to control my Kaiser from my laptop. I don't know if a program exists that will let you use a computer's microphone for phone calls, but a bluetooth headset or speakerphone kit, or simply using the speakerphone option on your phone are all options.
The only reason I ever need to directly interface with my phone while it's plugged in is that I use my phone's data connection for internet, and apparently you can't do that while connected to ActiveSync (MyMobiler requires an ActiveSync connection).
I'm assuming MyMobiler will work with your computer over bluetooth. I'm pretty sure you just need an ActiveSync connection, but I use the USB cable, especially since it's a convenient way to charge my Kaiser.
Ok I have been trying to use my pc connection and access that connection through my bluetooth on my kaiser, most I can get is the other way around. Any suggestions
Not sure that Internet Connection sharing in WinMo supports that...just wondering, why the heck would you want to surf the web on a 2.8" screen when you have a full PC available to you?
You can use the remote desktop facility via wifi. But as previously posted... why?! Bluetooth doesn't support a high enough datarate for it to work properly.
Connection at my location is 3G at best so bluetooth is defininitaly fast enough to accomidate my needs just simple stuff.

The best way to get the connection on your kaiser throught the pc is when you connect it using the USB and being connected to the active sync on your pc besides there are no settings need to be made for using this way. I'm not sure if you can connect the kaiser to you active sync on the pc through the bluetooth.anyway let me try it and if anything pops up, i'll let you know
Nope, no additional software required. Just go into Start - Programs - Internet Sharing. Hit connect and connect up your USB cable and you're done.
_Wait for ActiveSync to connect and then exit the programme._________________
Max confusion
What a jumble this thread has become . The O/P wanted to access the internet that's already on his PC and channel that through his TyTN II - NOT the other way around. As already mentioned in one post, one way of getting this is via an Activesync (or WMDC if it's Vista or Win 7 on the PC) connection. For greatest speed this would be via the USB cable but it is possible to have an Activesync or WMDC connection via Bluetooth for greater mobility if there's a need to carry the phone up to 10 m from the bluetooth hub. The other (more straight forward) way to do this is just to connect the phone via WiFi directly to the landline/broadband router (assuming there is a WiFi capable router avail).
Internet connection sharing is only for when the phones internet connection eg GSM/3G or HSDPA is feed to a desktop PC (say if the landline/broadband connection is down). In the O/Ps second post, the reference to Bluetooth speeds made it look like this was what was being saught.
I have done all of these with my TyTN II and had things working well in each case.
I've got my LGOS today and need a sync with Outlook. There are 3rd-party tools as MyPhoneExplorer, but they need a connection.
If I connect by USB or BT MS Vista starts to search for the driver but cannot find one. There it ends without connecting. What to do to get a connection?
Thanks!
