purchased the metal case for my 7501 via ebay for $9.99, received it today and i really like the look it gives the phone, will have to drill a small hole for the reset button because the design is a little off...
anyone else using this case?? what r the pros/cons 4 u?
fyi: was using the piel frama leather case b4 switching to the metal case, just wanted to try something new.
don't need a case w/ a beltclip because i toss it in my purse.
Is it those that allows you to carry with your keyboard? Just to let you know that the magnet of U1000 is so powerful that you need to hold the keyboard to the case when detaching the U1000. else the keyboard will be remove from the compartment that holds it.
Also watch the pin in the pastic connector that is used to hold the two metal pieces together. My drop off after using for a while.

yes that is the one i'm using.
i haven't had a problem w/ the keyboard coming out of the case, its a pretty snug fit.
thanx for the headsup.
so far i am really loving the case, i can access my ports a lot easier than in the leather case.
is the metal case larger than the leather one the phone comes with?
Link Missing?
Can someone post the link for the metal case and comment on how it works for attaching to the belt or how it works with the keyboard, ect...?
Thanks,
Bob

This is the case I would want...just cautious about ordering something from Hong-Kong....

I wouldn't be worried about ordering from overseas, as long as you use your Amex you're covered, be more worried about returns and how those are handled.
imo, stick with the case the mogul comes with ;] .. works great for me.
I wish my mogul came with anything, i got the phone and 2 batteries and charger, but i also did get it for 250$ bran new cheers..
sell ya my original mogul case for $15 shipped to the us [PM me for paypal info]
I dont use the case it came with, I just put the phone in my pocket
someone smack OP, world ugliest case. the clear plastic that covers the keyboard will make it hard to text and it looks that it'll mess up the phone's sliding thingy.
Does anyone know if a slim rubber case will still fit inside the oem holster?
I'm thinking something like this

I have that same basic case except the front of mine instead of being rubber is hard clear plastic. I love the case and it does fit inside the holser. However due to the rubber it makes it somewhat difficult to slide in and out of he holster quickly and easily and takes a little getting used to.
Can anyone remember how soon after the Sprint Mogul became available that 3rd party fitted cases came out?
I'm with VZW and all the fitted cases out there are customized for the Mogul (cutouts in the shape of the Mogul buttons). I'd like one for the XV6800 and would like to know when to expect those to come on the market.

I have been waiting too... I emailed Seidio and asked them and they said the cutouts are designed for the verizon model. But if you look at the pic ( http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=926 ) of it it looks like the curved cutout to me....
Yes, I see what you mean. The bottom buttons looks like it can pass for the XV6800. The top buttons definitely exposes more than the buttons. Many of the Mogul cases that I've seen on ebay and such looks like the case actually covers part of the top buttons albeit just the corners. But I know that will bug me. So, I'm really holding out on VZW specifically designed cases.
Well I must say, I ordered the hybred case from sedeio (rubberized bottom half and clear top half) and have to admit I am PLEASED! Fit is perfect, easy to install, doesn't pop off, doesn't squeak (like the cheapo one I bought on ebay). The holes for the keys are sort of hybred. Bottom dpad holes are verizon and the top holes holes (txtmsg/IE) are curved like mogul, but with the clear top half it is hardly noticable and looks like it was designed that way...
I would recommend...
Just an idea, and very unlikely that a product like this ever existed... but who else would like to be able to have their i8000's (or i920 ) have a stylus slot? I've seen custom back covers for larger batteries on eBay, so why not one for a stylus?
I would also like a kick-stand on the back cover like the one for the htc HD2 back cover.
Verizon i920 already has a stylus slot.
on my i900 i had a cover with a built-in stylus, got from the internet

Hey, can you posted the link?
Thanks.
for person looking for kickstand-body glove makes a case that has a kick stand on the belt clip. think you can buy the kickstand belt clip separately from the case also-in case you prefer different case. I just got case -rubberized plastic with belt clip(no kickstand)--from ebay-paw avenue was name of store- for 8.95 including shipping. the body glove case/clip is $20. go to body glove to check it out. I may try to get the belt clip to see if works with my case cause I like idea of kickstand too.
I like your idea - had the exact some one today. For my needs would have to be a slot, though, could just be some sort of ring-shaped holder.
Combine it with a kickstand and all is hunky dory.

To protect the device I got a silicon plastic cover and screen protector from caPDAse. Fit is absolutely OK. Happy with it so far - just a couple of days.
hi, does the body glove make it for both i8000 and i920 versions?
Hi all!
I think the best way do solve this problem is find a slim stylus with a strap

Well after a good review by another user here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1892017
I decided to buy the brown one last week, I had it this morning and tried it immediately. The case looks professional and feels nice to the touch. I thought the only complain I have is that it has no ridge on the inner side of the flap to stop the Nexus from sliding front/back when positioned in landscape mode.
But I discovered a flaw that plagued the earlier Poetic and other similar cases from amazon, in that the magnet is so strong, it put the device in standby mode when folding the front flap all the way to the back.
Watch th video here:
That's strange, my case does not do that? I can upload a video if you want?
I don't know...it's a shame as the case is really lovely but that's the first thing I noticed after I put my nexus on the case. Please do try it with yours.

I tried it earlier and I could not get it to turn the screen off, I was mimicking what you were doing. Maybe ask the seller and see if they can send you a replacement?

cheers, will contact them about it.
im getting a refund for the case and I get to keep it too. I have compared the magnet location on this case and it is a little lower than the magnets on the other cases that I already have. tried relocating the magnet but it still has the same issue so my guess is the magnet is quite strong.

Ah that's good. I guess my case's magnet must be in a different location to yours as it works fine on mine.
Obviously nobody should have to modify a case they bought advertised with a smart function to get it to work the way it's supposed to, but for anyone dealing with a case that shuts the screen off if the front flap is folded all the way back because the magnet is too strong, I have a quick/cheap/easy solution if you don't want to mess with returns/replacements:
You can tape a little piece of metal between the case and the back of the Nexus in the same area as the magnet. This should stop the magnet from turning the screen off when the flap is all the way open and touching the back of the case.
I did this for my ASUS travel case. I taped a magnet to the front flap so I could use it as a smart case, but the magnet was too strong and kept turning the screen off when folded back. I added the little piece of metal and now it works perfectly. For the metal I just I cut a small square out of a tin can lid a little larger than the size of the magnet I was using. I just used a tin can because it was the nearest piece of thin metal I had, but anything small and thin enough that the tablet will still fit in the case while sitting on it will work. The tape will keep the metal in place and protect the back of the Nexus 7 from scratches. Haven't had a problem yet. It's not the most polished looking solution in the world, but you can't even tell it's there unless I remove the Nexus from the case. Just throwing it out there for anyone having magnet issues.

Cheers, I alreay tried a few sheets of aluminum foil, but it did not help, and
the Nexus did not fit snugly because it was too thick.
I'm looking forward to cheaper altearnatives of this one (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008NMCPTQ/ref=cm_cd_asin_lnk) which looks like it has the best design, and offers the best protection.
Hi.
Does anyone know of a book style flip case which uses something other than a magnet to hold the lid closed?
Seems the magnets interfere with the s-pen.

Please note that you have to bend out the edge hook of the open flip cover a bit since it is to tight. Otherwise it woud damage your note if you open and close the flip many times
On the pricier side but the Spigen Snap is a really good case. Detachable shell from the wallet which is useful.

Thanks for the suggestion. This did look like a nice case, while searching for more info on it I stumbled upon the Spigen Illuzion case which is a bit more affordable while still fulfilling all my requirements. I've just ordered one and look forward to receiving it soon.

flip cases with a magnet on the side or in the flap shouldn't be a problem.
the only real issue is with cases that use a strong magnet behind the screen.
They are a little pricey but the offer great protection.

I had a flip case with magnet in the side. Found that the Pen wouldnt work on that side - Not by much - maybe 1 CM semi circle from the center of the Magnet around the screen.
So I removed it with a scalpel, took a little while since it was glued in but once removed all worked well expect that the case wouldnt hold shut which honestly was no big issue.
So I bought a Mountek car dock that uses a magnet to hold the phone. It comes with a metal plate you put inside your phone case. The problem is that the M8 has a curved back and the case won't fit with the plate inside. I tried bending the plate, but it would have to be PERFECT to fit inside the case without pushing up against it.
Does anyone know of an M8 specific case that has magnetic metal embedded in it? Or has anyone else come up with a clever way to make the M8 work with the Mountek?

Certainly not a clever or pretty way, but I did epoxy a strip of metal from Home Depot onto the back of a case for this purpose. It works, but... near impossible to get it to look nice.
I just received the same car mount and was able to place the magnetic blade (without removing the adhesive tape) inside my TPU case. It's a little tricky to keep it centered while inserting the phone back in to the case, but I could keep a finger on the blade to keep it steady. Once the phone was fully back in the case, the blade hadn't move at all and it sticks to the mount perfectly without any movement or drops.
I also have a second blade on another case (applied on the back of the case), so that's another option. Buy a cheap case just for the car, but that could become tedious.
Edit: I have the blade vertically in place when the phone is in portrait view. Easier to hold the blade in place in landscape when putting the case back on.
