Case - Mogul, XV6800 Accessories

This is the case I would want...just cautious about ordering something from Hong-Kong....
http://cgi.ebay.com/GIFT-X-3-Sprint...tcZphotoQQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I wouldn't be worried about ordering from overseas, as long as you use your Amex you're covered, be more worried about returns and how those are handled.

imo, stick with the case the mogul comes with ;] .. works great for me.

I wish my mogul came with anything, i got the phone and 2 batteries and charger, but i also did get it for 250$ bran new cheers..

sell ya my original mogul case for $15 shipped to the us [PM me for paypal info]
I dont use the case it came with, I just put the phone in my pocket

someone smack OP, world ugliest case. the clear plastic that covers the keyboard will make it hard to text and it looks that it'll mess up the phone's sliding thingy.

Does anyone know if a slim rubber case will still fit inside the oem holster?
I'm thinking something like this

I have that same basic case except the front of mine instead of being rubber is hard clear plastic. I love the case and it does fit inside the holser. However due to the rubber it makes it somewhat difficult to slide in and out of he holster quickly and easily and takes a little getting used to.

Can anyone remember how soon after the Sprint Mogul became available that 3rd party fitted cases came out?
I'm with VZW and all the fitted cases out there are customized for the Mogul (cutouts in the shape of the Mogul buttons). I'd like one for the XV6800 and would like to know when to expect those to come on the market.

I have been waiting too... I emailed Seidio and asked them and they said the cutouts are designed for the verizon model. But if you look at the pic ( http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=926 ) of it it looks like the curved cutout to me....

Yes, I see what you mean. The bottom buttons looks like it can pass for the XV6800. The top buttons definitely exposes more than the buttons. Many of the Mogul cases that I've seen on ebay and such looks like the case actually covers part of the top buttons albeit just the corners. But I know that will bug me. So, I'm really holding out on VZW specifically designed cases.

Well I must say, I ordered the hybred case from sedeio (rubberized bottom half and clear top half) and have to admit I am PLEASED! Fit is perfect, easy to install, doesn't pop off, doesn't squeak (like the cheapo one I bought on ebay). The holes for the keys are sort of hybred. Bottom dpad holes are verizon and the top holes holes (txtmsg/IE) are curved like mogul, but with the clear top half it is hardly noticable and looks like it was designed that way...
I would recommend...

TMOBILE Wing Crystal Cases any good?

decent quiality
i just bought mines from daydeal.com and the quality isnt bad it connects well and isnt very loose and you can choose from different colors at daydeal.com i got the smoke grey but the belt clip attachment isnt very good feels kinda loose wen clippin to pants
I didn't like the one I received.
It fits fine and the parts are all usable but there's no protection for the screen and while it'll keep things looking pretty, it provides no shock protection. All it really does is make the phone bigger.
Oh... and forget using any extended batteries.
Does any one know if this case fits the original p4350 Herald (non-wing). The camera position and front buttons are different.
I like the crystal cover I purchased off of ebay. As one of the posters replied it doesn't have a protective cover for the screen. I also purchased a metal case and love it. It came with a small plastic for the screen. Only minor drawback is, I must open the door to use touch screen, nothing major.

Almost perfect belt clip case: Krusell 75134

I got this at SF Planet for $13+shipping. It is well-made. The Athena is a snug fit width-wise but the sides are elastic. The case looks very professional and like it is made for the Athena. My only complaints are it could be a little wider and I would prefer a magnetic closure instead of Velcro.
Here are some pics:

Here is SF Planet's order page:

So you have to remove from the case to use?

Yes, unless you have x-ray vision
I wish someone would make a belt clip case with holes for the screen and buttons so we could use the Athena without taking it out. The screen could face outward (away from the body) and be protected with a flip cover.
I filled out the form on Vaja's web site with this suggestion. They should make an Athena case which has a flip cover like their iPhone cases.
I carry my device bare without keyboard, and this looks like an excellent design. The price looks good too.
It looks just a little little too tight. Is it easy to put the unit in and out? I also prefer to leave the pouch hanging on my waist while the unit is removed for use. The current design seems to be such that the whole pouch with the device comes off the waist.
Is there any option to leave the secured on the waist when the device is removed? I think it is a hassle, not knowing what to do and where to place the empty pouch when the device is being used.
Search ebay for "HTC X7500 leather" and/or "HTC X7501 Leather".
There's plenty of great cases.
looks nice, but no belt clip:
http://cgi.ebay.com/FITFOR-HTC-ADVA...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
This one has belt clip:
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Genuine-Lea...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Many people here have had experience with the 2nd case you list. The clip breaks in 1-2 days, and on mine the post (that the clip attaches to) came unglued on the 3rd day. If I hadn't noticed it before I wore it again, the whole thing would have dropped to the ground as the clip & post stayed on my belt. Mine went right in the trash because trying to get a refund would have eaten up the refund since they require that you send the case back. If I got a replacement case I would have immediately sold it (not trusting to use it anymore), costing money to list it and I probably would have had to undercut the other cases listed to ensure a sale, costing money again...
Do not buy it! Many others here will agree. You'll save money by buying a decent (but more expensive) case first, that will last you for years. Forget about the cheap ebay cases.
How do you guys keep the buttons from getting pressed in the tight cases?
I have the screen/lock on but after a call somes in the buttons still get pressed.
any ideas?

The case could be a little wider but it is elastic on the sides and expands to fit. I put my X7501 in one corner first (slightly diagonally) and push it to one side to get the other corner started. Once both corners are in it is not difficult to push all the way in. There is plenty of room to grasp the top corners of the unit to pull it out.
The pouch stays on my waist (attached to belt) when I am using the unit. I have to squeeze the belt clip to take the pouch off clip and all or push down on the release button on the clip to take the pouch off but leave the clip on my belt.
This is not a "quick draw" case. One does have to be deliberate putting the Athena in. Taking it out is easier, especially when the case stays on the belt.
Also, the corners of the Athena are not protected if the case is dropped with the Athena inside. I look at this case as a good balance between cost and functionality. My quest for the "perfect" case continues...
Yes, indeed there is no pouch that meets my requirements yet.
Another of my requirement is that when I sir down with the pouch on my front hip, it should not cause discomfort to my body. This means it can't be made of hard leather, and the belt loop should be made of elastic material.
Got it.
Pro:
- excellent quality;
- fits the Athena almost to the millimeter;
- holds miniSD cards quite nicely;
- belt-clip much better, IMHO, than previous "rotary" ones. Besides, it can be removed without having the pod-thing it attaches to sticking out and taking up room for nothing.
Cons:
- big and bulky;
- has to be "worked" a bit to close once the Athena's inside. Now ok but after about two-weeks of "massaging";
All in all a great "long-trip" type case IMHO, but no good for day to day use, especially if you don't care about the keyboard all that much.
Krusell 75134 not available any longer?
Toyfreak,
Thanks for posting. I like the case, but the problem is that Krusell does not make it any longer. Even their web site does not list the 75134 model. Do you remember for what device it was originally listed. Like IPAQ model XX or so? Then I could try to find a similar Krusell model. I like the tight fit. Searched a lot and even went to a couple stores, I find them all too bulky.
Thanks a lot.

Krusell discontinued the 75134 a long time ago but SF Planet had some left when I bought mine. Try the link in post #1 of this thread and see if they still have them.
EDIT: I just tried the link and the page is gone... I'm still looking for the perfect case and I will share any finds I make. It might be worth a call anyway.
toyfreak,
Thanks for checking. SFplanet did not have it any longer on their web but I will give them a call to find out what other case might have a similar size. Would it be too much to ask if you can take the inside measurements of the case and post it?
Thanks

Apx. 130x88x28mm inside but the elastic on the sides allows it to expand to fit the width of the Athena (see pictures in first post)
toyfreak,
Thank you very much. With the measurements I can continue my hunt. I will post any findings under Athena accessories.
You need search no farther than http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=351
This is the only case I know of designed for the Advantage that has a secure belt clip. There is another case available there, Series 270, that is slightly smaller to hold the device without the HTC case on it.
As far as I am concerned, there is nothing else available to match it.

This doesn't look near as nice as the Nutshell case(if you're not familair, read in this forum, there's a thread somewhere with links). The clip on the nutshell case is pretty much immune to wearing out. Downside is it can cost from $60 to over $100 and can take up to 2 weeks to ship. Worth every penny and minute in my book.

Seidio Ruberized-like case w/ correct cutouts for XV6800?

Is there such a thing?
http://www.xvdepot.com/seidio-super-slim-rubberized-hard-case/4A54A2934.htm
These fit, but the cutouts are for the Mogul, which doesn't match the XV6800 quite right.
Dunno. I'm in the same boat. I want a case for my XV6800 but have no idea what one to get.
damn mogul... stealing all the spotlight!
The Seidio case for the Mogul, works just dandy for the xv6800. I have it on mine. While the cutouts on the face don't line up perfect with the xv6800, it still works. None of hte buttons are covered at all. It still looks ok too. I have the red/burgandy case on my 6800 and it looks nice, barely any blue shows thru. And the areas where the cut out don't line up on the face are silver areas too.
I highly reccomend it. Best case for the 6800 by far, even if it's not perfect for the verizon version.

I knew they fit, and I know they're good cases. That wasn't my question. I wanted to know if there was something similar that had the correct cutouts. Everyone I know with a Seidio case loves it, I would just like the cutouts to match.

Well I wanted it to be clear to anyone else reading it that the case works great.
As far as the cutouts being perfect, there is no alternative currently. I don't think Seido plans to make one either yet (I emailed them, they said no) as the xv6800 is currently the least popular implementation of the Titan.
+1 I really like mine. I have had the back case with the belt holster from seidio.... no regrets.
Mobi Crystal Case
This Mobi see-through hard case is designed specifically for the XV6800.
for what it's worth, I'm delighted with my Seido rubberized black hard case for use with Seido's extended battery. There's no interference with controls, except that the volume wheel is a bit recessed. I use the Seido case with my Mugen 3600mAh battery; I must leave the Mugen battery door off, but that's not a problem: nothing rattles, everything fits snugly, and the battery is that much easier to get to if I forget to charge it and need to pop in a spare.
I probably would have got the reddish case, but the black was cheaper.
yeah... i may just suck it up and get that one. maybe later on down the road when verizon lowers the price on this phone and it becomes more popular, someone will make a case that is taylored to this version of the titan.
broke down and got it... couldnt be happier! lol, fits just fine for me!
rubberized case - xv6800
any one try this one: http://www.xvdepot.com/seidio-super-slim-rubberized-hard-case/4A123A2934.htm
it's the exact same one. it actually ships directly from seidio when you purchase it from that site. however, seidio charges less shipping, so you're better off getting it right from their website.

any chance u can take a pic...i wanna see how this would look on my xv6800
I have the VZW xv6800 and it is equipped with the extended battery and back. Therefor most of these items do not fit the phone properly and eventually rip or tear apart. Does anyone know of a holster that does work for the extra width? Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] thin case for NS4G

They just came out so I don't expect miracles but I figured that one of these stretch rubber kind might fit it. However, I hate to add more thickness to the phone so does anyone know of an extra thin one?
You can try a i9023 case as I believe the super LCD Nexus are slightly thicker than the i9020s. I'm not too sure if the thickness is the same as the sprint versions though.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA App
The sprint store has a few gel cases that are thin. People are also reporting that the CaseMate Pop fits the 4G.

It hasn't shown up yet so I wont know for another day or 2. Users on other forums have confirmed that it fits well.
As reported in other thread incipio case fits NS4G without problems, the only "complaint" is that the cutout for power button is not centered but lowered, still it doesn't affect/press the button.
Mine came cracked at the bottom, called incipio, they're sending a new one.
i got this case and its a pain to press the power button

Honestly I had the hard case from best buy and it fit my ns4g better than my tmo ns Im sure any hard case will work with it. That said dont get the platinum hard case from best buy it is garbage. Those gel cases from sprint seemed about the same thickness as the best buy hard case it hit the holster perfectly but i didnt put one on the phone. Instead I went with this

I am very happy with this case it fastens together very securly and fit even with the invisa-sheild

http://shop2.sprint.com/NASApp/onli...ryID=CHS8564R&topPageNumber=0&subPageNumber=0
The incipio fits fine minus the fact that power button is a little off but its really not a problem or a deal breaker. The case from sprint works great and isn't too bulky either, though not as thin as the incipio case. I personally would suggest both.

Just a heads up. The gel case at the Sprint store sucks.. It's so tight you barely have to touch the phone to turn it on, or key a volume key.. It's really awkward pressing buttons through a layer of gel.

Yeah.. This is the sucky gel case I threw in the trash. Very annoying to operate the power button and volume keys through that layer of gel.
Well... I've successfully tried ALL available cases for the NS4G now, and I'll say this... they ALL suck. All of them. I hope some decent offerings become available soon.

How does this phone fit the ZAGG Invisashield? Does it match up well with the power buttons etc?
Thanks!
The Incipio Feather case is perfect. Nice matte black finish, feels great in hand, and us thin, but still overlaps the top of screen which is great.
I know it fits slightly off on my 4G version but that's barely noticable. Looks awesome.
I have the Feather case on my EVO as well, but it does not come up and overlap top of screen, it only goes up 90% on the sides which I do not like. Wish it was designed same as the Nexus-S version.

Thanks for the heads up.
The clear argyle gel case is what I have. Yes, in the beginning it was a pain in the ass to push the buttons. I tried a little cutting on the case and now it's not so difficult to deal with. I got a brand new exacto knife blade with a tip blade. I put the case on the phone and gently made a surface mark on the top, bottom, left and right of where the buttons actually are. The volume seemed centered correctly but the power wasn't. Anyways, I made my marks with the tip of the knife so I knew where to cut. I went about a millimeter farther than I needed to go on the borders. I removed the phone and put something the same thickness as the phone on the inside of the gel to give me some leverage to carefully make the cutouts in the gel. I didn't try to cut it all in one shot. I made many passes on the line I was cutting until I managed to go all the way through. It doesn't look stock and it's not ocd perfect but it got the job done and the case is still strong. I originally got the two piece with the holster at sprint but I didn't like it quickly when holding it in my hand with a flat palm, the phone would slide down easily in my hand. I was too afraid of that adding to the chance it might fall out of my hand. The gel is still strong, covers all the phone, has a lip on the front where the screen is so it's not flush on the screen and it doesn't interfere with a zagg screen protector. I could post pics if anyone is interested in seeing it.

VS980 Dynamic Tuff Impact Hybrid Cover Case

I just wanted to make a post about this case I bought on ebay for my Verizon G2. The listing on ebay said it was for D800 and never mentioned the case fitting any of the other variants - especially the Verizon version with it's different back layout. Anyways, I took a chance since I got 2 of these cases for under $15. They looked very good for the price, they are a 3 piece case that includes a rubber base piece and hard plastic for the bezel and back of the phone. The cases arrived in the mail yesterday and they fit perfectly. That's about all that needs to be said, there's no bulging or any signs of bad fitment anywhere. In fact, the only way to tell this case isn't for the VS980 is the small circular cutout above the camera and flash cutouts on the back. The VS980 doesn't have anything under that circle (I think it may be something to do with a mic on AT&T version???). But the back button cutouts don't even look like they're too big, even though the VS980 has smaller, slimmer buttons. I'm VERY pleased with these cases.
Some notes:
- I would describe the plastic backing of the case as a slick matte finish and the rubber inner cover adds a good grip to offset that. It feels very good in the hand and not at all like it could slip from your fingers easily.
- The case is 3 pieces, as I mentioned earlier. The inner rubber case, the plastic outer and plastic front bezel cover easily snap and unsnap together over top of the rubber.
- No one likes bulky cases and I don't feel like this one adds much to the phone. No more than an Otterbox Commuter.
- The only gripe I have is that where I have changed my LCD density on my G2, the top nav bar is hard to pull down where the case sticks up a little. However, this may not be an issue with the stock density of 480 where the nav bar is a little fatter. Also, the case sticking up is not a bad thing, obviously when the phone is laid face down this is a good thing so the screen never comes in contact with the surface the phone is laid on.
- One good thing for people who use the back hardware buttons a lot, which I don't because I use the knock on/off every time, this case's cutouts make it very easy to feel where the buttons end and begin. Not sure about other versions, but the VS980's buttons are small and almost feel flat to the back of the phone. This is a big reason I avoid using them if possible. However, with the case on it's much easier to make sure you press the one you're meaning to.
This part of the review only pertains to anyone who might have the Otterbox Commuter case from a Droid DNA if that's what phone you're coming to the G2 from. My DNA Otterbox fits the G2 LIKE A GLOVE. It's weird actually. Aside from the bottom headphone jack and covering up the back buttons, everything else is perfect. You can see what I mean from the pics. So if you're someone who has this case and doesn't use the headphones and back buttons much then this case will work for what it's meant to do - protect your phone. I use my headphones at the gym all the time, otherwise it would be the one I use. All you would have to do is drill a hole in the bottom where the jack is and you're good to go. I know this is an easy mod because I actually drilled a hole in the back of the case to make the DNA's rear LED notification light visible. That was strange to me how the Commuter didn't come with that cutout on its own.
Anyways, I'm sorry for getting off topic, but it really is relevant since some others like me who came from the DNA may have the same case.
In conclusion, the Dynamic Tuff Impact Hybrid Cover Case, as it's called on ebay, works PERFECTLY. Don't worry if it doesn't say it fits the VS980, because it does. There are tons of color options and they can be mixed and matched. That's what I did, I bought the Blue/Black and the Black/White to make the Blue/White (Kentucky Wildcats basketball, Go Big Blue!) and also to have a solid Black case too.
For $7 you can't beat this case and it fits all G2's. Take a look at the pics. I hope this will be useful to Verizon G2 owners who are looking for a good case.
