A friend of mine has set up a forum for bird photographers and enthusiasts. He also has a site: http://worldbirds.awardspace.com/ where he's put in a lot of effort trying to list with images every known bird species on the planet as well as working towards protecting the environment. So if you're a bird enthusiast or photographer please register if possible on his forum, it'll be a morale boost for someone working so hard to preserve our birdlife and environment for future generations.

Some news I wanted to share with you guys: ARTICLE
Compare with all the sharing and community sense that kings XDA Developers.
This is a nice excerpt from the article:
Apple’s stance contrasts sharply with the Windows Mobile world, where developers are seen as the life blood of the ecosystem, 3rd party applications are expected to be installed from the start, and developers do not have to jump through any hoops to distribute their application.

Nice article, but I really don't get the fanboyism and anti this and and anti that. I have my diamond, and I am extremely happy about it. Reminds me of the old school AMD vs Intel/ATi vs nVidia wars scouring hardware forums not so long ago. It's just STUFF! Things. Devices. Not ideology; someone with an iPhone isn't less of a human being than others. No wonder there's war in this world.

well, to be completly honest, apple started it to make it into something different. they want it to be a movement.... you have to think apple to own a mac.
the I'm a mac guy underlined the whole thing even more.
so I'm totally comfortable with the bashing in case of apple, even though I own a macbook and run mac os on it.
since every sponsors is dropping him, Tiger got my support!
i would do the same if i'm Tiger, when you have all the money in the world, what' the point of living if u dont enjoy life the fullest!
Call me old fashioned, but I believe that when you are with somebody, especially married to somebody, you are to remain faithful.
Although, I don't really see why sponsors are dropping Tiger now, he's more popular now, then ever.

I believe this is often referred to as "commitment" ... which IMHO ranks right up there with "honour", "respect", and "ethics". Although I have no issues with living life the fullest, some actions such as adultery do have consequences which sponsors must keep in mind.
At the time I read this thread, I felt that it simply served to instigate a "flamewar" session amongst fellow XDA members or to encourage comments that could be construed as a personal attack on Tiger Woods behaviour as depicted by the media - and as such closed it. Additionally, I felt the thread communicated a negative message to younger - more impressionable - readers.
As a result of closing the thread however, a fellow XDA member felt that I was being too harsh and that to some degree, my actions communicated an undesireable form of censoring.
As such, I have taken the matter up with Flar. In the interest of not communicating a form of censoring, I have chosen to re-open this thread for others to comment with the caveat that it not deteriorate into a personal attack on Tiger Woods or fellow XDA members.

i woulda shouted out what a boss hahaha
but i love how everyone's so surprised by this....
Hi Everyone!
I'm a long time Windows Phone advocate... Though I guess most of you guys must be as well, if you belong to a Windows Phone forum, haha.
Anyway, I wanted to get on here and spread the word a bit about an app I've been working on. I'm no professional developer. Heck I can hardly write actual code. I pretty much just stick with "Design View" in Blend and only occasionally venture into the unknown abyss that is "Code View."
Developing is just a hobby, though anytime a hobby can bring in money is definitely a plus. I'm a senior in college and a Psychology/Sociology major. Again, not much experience in non-hobby-based computing/developing. I also great enjoy the Dragon Ball series, as it's my favorite anime. My love of Dragon Ball, coupled with my love of Windows Phone is really why I chose to begin developing.
But that was just a little bit about me. Here's information about my app:
Dragon Ball Z: Transformation Guide is an informational app that delves into the many transformations that take place throughout the anime classic, Dragon Ball Z. It contains synopses, pictures, tables (listing who all have encountered such transformations as well as when (specific Manga Chapter and TV Episode/Movie).
Fairly recent additions to the app include Image Galleries, tapping to zoom on images, and TONS of awesome transformations spanning all episodes of the three series (DB/Z/GT) as well as from all 18 movies, including the newest, Battle of Gods!
As a one-man developer, I'm finding it pretty tough to market the app and get it popular, so hopefully exposing here will help with that!
Also, if you download it, and enjoy it, please rate and review it! If you have any suggestion, please feel free to message me here and let me know your suggestions, as well as tips, if you have any
Thanks

thank for share. i like dragon ball
Hey everyone! I have an assignment about the topic of the ethics of dissecting animals in high school science class. I have a survey that asks about one's opinion on this topic. I thought it would be interesting to see what XDA members think about dissection in high schools so I would greatly appreciate it if you guys took a few minutes to fill out my survey on Google Forms. It would also be quite cool to hear about your experiences with dissection while you were in high school so feel free to start a conversation about that in this thread. Thanks everyone!
Here's the link to the survey: http://goo.gl/forms/xU2gjBTaQi
Over here animals used in labs for the purpose of education and study are never killed for that purpose. They're all roadkill, natural causes, diseased, etc. (This is in Western Europe, the law does not allow the killing of animals for laboratory pruposes.)
By dissecting an animal, people learn that animals are living creatures made of the same parts as themselves. That is a very important lesson, because the idea of humans being 'more' than animals, either special or better or 'god's favourite', is what leads to animal cruelty.
I always found it highly educational. Except the one time with the tarantula. I bloody hate spiders, dead or alive.
It also gives kids a stomach for blood, a great little reality check, a slap in the face about mortality, and it never fails to leave a lasting impression. Given the attitude of high school kids, that's a knock off their high horse they sorely need. If they cry and vomit, all the better. Life isn't pretty, welcome to the real world.
(A good friend of mine is a medical examiner, I sometimes help out as her assistant when they're short on staff, since I have had basic medical training. It's one of the reason why I do not care for someone's skin colour; I've seen up close that all humans look exactly the same inside their skin and when they're dead.)
I think dissection is fine, and is helpful if the dissector can handle the gore.
I grew up on a farm where we grew angus cattle, and lived off the meat we got from them. I was around during all the process, from the cow being shot, to the final cuts of meat being done. We also sometimes got a pet pig with the full intention of growing it out to eat.
When we started doing dissection I had no problem doing it, though I had a close friend who would stand in the corner, due to him not being able to stomach the gore. I always found dissection interesting, and it helped enforce the knowledge I had learned beforehand, however it was no use at all to the people who couldn't handle the gore.

I COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER MYSELF. However I believe more needs to be done at younger ages to ease them into things like this, if you only get shown the gore etc in one full hit when your older, your more likely to be completely against it.
Overall people should be less sensitive, and dissection is good for learning
As the title of this thread already gives it away, I'm asking about your personal and greatly appreciated offtopic opinion regarding the more than controversial upcoming World Cup this coming winter 2022.
Generally asking, are you for or against it?
Plus, be so kind to list all the Pros and Cons, so there can be a constructive exchange of POV's.
It is definitely ok to express all kinds of takes, views, opinions and thoughts about the teams itself, their squad, their realistic chances, etc etc etc..
I don't think I have to say it, but pls stay civil and coherent in the way you express yourself.
Happy posting world of XDA,
Cheers
I'm a great supporter of football but I haven't decided yet if I'm going to boycott (or ignore) this world championship. The reasons are obvious in my opinion but obviously also political and therefore not suitable even to be posted in an XDA thread. Meanwhile, I question all event that are "organised" by corrupt associations like FIFA, IOC, UEFA, FIA (this list is expendable) etc.
I definitely hoped that our German association, the DFB, had have the courage to say, we don't go to Qatar but money rules the sports world and environment as much as sexual harrassment and abuse or dopping. Maybe the latter get slightly better since two countries have been banned by some (and I don't understand why not by all) organisations.
Sports is great! Sports is important! But not how it's celebrated by the top level officials of many organisations.
Long time since I do not support business sports, and even less that México never wins anything...
