Notification queue problem - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

in each softreset i have a new entry on notifications queue:
\notification\namedevents\<hexadecimal chars> of tyme "system time changed". I have tried taskmgr, memmaid, and so on to delete this entries with no luck. i have stopped all startup programs and all non mandatory startup services and one entry is created on every startup.
TyTn II with spanish official ROM.
Any suggestion?
Thanks,

SKtoolsLite download, mark duplicates, and erase?? I'm sure you tried that already but didn't see it listed...if you haven't, mark duplicate notifications and erase.

O2 Stellar and HTC X button

I'd be grateful if anyone could offer any help with this issue.
I have an O2 branded version of the Kaiser. I have installed various of the cabs for HTC software available on this forum - which is excellent, by the way - and was very glad to find an "X" button solution.
Unfortunately, the device then started to crash whenever I closed a program for the first time and had to soft reset. I got a message saying that there was a problem with the shell.
As it stopped when I uninstalled HTC X Button, I am 99% certain that it was source of my problem. O2 stick a program manager in the system bar. It does not add X button functionality, but it does allow manual closure of a program. It does not appear ion any program list, and cannot be removed or closed itself, so I assume that it is part of the rom (not that I am an expert!)
Can anyone confirm this problem, and/or suggest a (preferably freely available) X button program that does not cause any issues? Alternatively, can the (fairly useless) O2 program be removed or closed without replacing the rom?
you are probably correct that the 2 apps are causing the issue. Have you looked in the \windows\startup folder for the O2 app? Also, there is a registry entry called INIT that does startup of services for the device. I can't remember right now where it's located in the registry. Let me know if you find anything in the startup folder and if not, I'll look up the key for you.
There is a file called O2 Custom in the Startup folder which has the same icon as the manager program I want rid of, but it is only 21b in size, so I assume that it is a shortcut.
Thanks for the suggestion. I would be grateful for some guidance on thew registry, since I am too inexperienced with this stuff to go poking around without very specific instructions!

that startup is probably it. you can try to cut&paste the shortcut to your 'my documents' folder, then reboot, then see if that o2 app is started after reboot. if not, then you found the solution.
I wonder if we are able to do a "corporate" install after hard reset like I used to be able to do with my Universal so it doesn't load all the 02 rubbish
Works like a charm, thanks smittyofdhs. The o2 program manager is gone, and HTC XButton 1.51 has not caused any soft resets so far.
You know, I feel really stupid not realising that removing the shortcut from startup would have done the job. I would have done the equivalent on my desktop or laptop without even thinking about it.
HTC has a new version of their Task Manager (V2.0) that can be found pretty easily by searching this website. The only problem I have with HTC's Task Manager(s) is that while the "X" functionality works in every application, the Task Manager feature seems to work only on the Today screen. Therefore, I have found WkTask to be a very good free task manager which also combines a program launcher.

Repeating notification problem

Here's the short version:
I'm getting a repeating error notification (can't locate an uninstalled .exe). I think I've tracked down the problem to a stray "notification" still associated to an .mp3 file used by the removed app. In Task Manager v2.7 > Notification manager, I see the following notification:
"\Storage Card\My Documents\My Sounds\Buoy_bell3s.mp3"
which is the sound the old app used. Expanded with the application radio button selected, the "Argument" is AppRunAtTime, and "Type" is CNT_TIME.
Seems like I should be able to fix the problem in this interface, e.g. delete the notification(s). But I don't really understand what I'm looking at (not quite sure what the "notification manager" really does) and really don't want to initiate some downward spiral.
Help, please?
Kaiser/HTC-8900/Tilt, WM6 flashed to Dutty's Touch CE OS 5.2.1622 (Build 18128.dutty's).
The longer version, if needed
I (unwisely) installed EnAlarm, which was buggy as hell. The notification began after I uninstalled it. I scoured my device for remnants, but found none. I searched XDA, found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326378
...reinstalled EnAlarm, and uninstalled manually (although my previous settings were wiped, so I had no alarms to delete). That didn't work.
I also found a reference to EnAlarm as "Mobialarm" with a link, so I installed that, uninstalled it, waded through the registry for stray keys (deleted one), and the Windows, Start Menu, and Startup folders for stray files (none). I also search the device and storage card for "alarm" and made sure every hit was unrelated.
Finally, I soft reset after every uninstall and tried powering down via the side button. Oh, and I uninstalled some recent software add-ons, including everything Resco, Orbworks, and SPBTime. Then I powered down, removed the battery, waited, powered back up, and got the notification again.

ps- sorry for the lengthy post. Wanted to be thorough.
Quick update
The process spawning the multiple notification windows is \windows\services.exe 60...a quick glance through the services manager leads me to believe "services.exe" is some kind of bundle (like svchost)...

Fixed...I think
Found a stray .app that was reinstalling files. Killed that, plus some reg keys I was unaware existed under \\\registry. Powered off/on, and so far no more notifications.
Nice having this conversation with myself.

Cannot disable TFlo tabs with TF3Dconfig

I have no need for emails or programs tab...no matter how many times I've tried to disable them with config, after reset, thet're still there...
Is your laungage set to english in config? I set it to polish and they showed up. set it back to english and it was good.
I seem to have 2 SMS, 2 E-MAIL blocks blank on the available tabs screen...email tab just keeps popping up...got rid of programs, lousy email...
Removing Tabs
I've got this exact same problem, Diamond TF3D Config does not do the trick, but I have the same problem as the thread maker. THe problem occured when I updated my Manila to the newest one. Is there any way of editing this through the registry?
I also had that problem after I installed the calendar tab. It seems two '26948339_manila' files appear in the /windows directory. I backed up the windows directory then removed the '26948339_manila_disabledtabs' file and it seemed to work.

SKTools

Hello everyone,
I was using SKTools in my old Diamond, and I was generally happy with it. As a result, I installed the app in my brand new D2, and started using it there as well.
Unfortunately, the results were a nasty surprise: When I ran the "Clean" routine, (in which I had also enabled the "Invalid Registry Values" setting, which is set to "not used" by default), I realised that the shortcuts for the default programs in the TF3D Start Menu (i.e. Home, Profile, Calendar, Settings) had disappeared for good. Since these 4 programs are unmovable from this screen, I couldn't even replace them with something else... The solution? Hard reset...
The D2 now works like a breeze, and for this reason I am afraid to run SKTools Clean again, even with the "Invalid Registry Values" setting disabled. I am also reluctant to use even the SKTools Backup module, although I definitely need to have a backup of my phone.
Has anybody used SKTools Clean and/or backup in D2? Does it work properly? Should I try it?
Thanks
Sprite backup worked great for me, after a hard reset and restore my phone worked as it did when I made the backup.
You should contact sktools manufacturer about these issues. They have the best answers

You have a point, yet SKTools will not tell me which piece of software to use for backup if their own one doesn't do the trick... Nor will they direct me to another piece of software for "cleaning" the device, if theirs is prone to problems.
This is why I am asking feedback from you people here; to tell me if you have tried the SKTools app, and in case it didn't work out, which pieces software you would advise for these jobs (cleaning + backup).

I guess following registry values was deleted by using the Clean! action :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\3\IconPath
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\ProgramLauncher\0\IconPath
SKTools will make a backup (standard setting) for the deleted Registryvalue.
Take a look into " My Documents\Registrybkp " folder.
If following files exist:
\My Documents\Registrybkp\Software_HTC_Manila_ProgramL auncher_3_IconPath.rgb
\My Documents\Registrybkp\Software_HTC_Manila_ProgramL auncher_0_IconPath.rgb
then start the option " SKTools Backup " and mark these 2 files and make a restore.
Exit SKTools
Softreset
To prevent the deletion by using Clean! action, go into settings > Invalid Registry Values > Exclude filter
Tap on Exclude filter and enter (field on the top) : Manila\ProgramLauncher;
OK

That was very helpful! Thanks!
In the next version we will exclude these registry values.
At moment, you can do by hand (see my previous post).

back up settings in between ROM changes?

i can't help but keep trying new roms all the time but its getting annoying having to set everything up like facebook links, windows live, panels etc. is there kind of back up thingy to deal with this???
thanks
i don't know about an easy way, but i made myself a cab that sets up the base configurations that i need always.
What my cab does is:
1- import registry settings for the program registration that are kept in the registry, main settings of TF3D (tab order, shortcuts, weather and time settings), settings for galarm and gprofile, and some other software
2- put some shortcuts in the start menu for programs installed on the SD.
and this cab gets called with the autorun method (mort script autorun in the 2577 folder) which can install cabs silently and import registry file.
like this upon second boot (first boot is to call main rom script) i get my everyday use apps installed and configured.
i didn't do the autosetup for some settings that require passwords (wifi keys, facebook password), first i can't find all of them, second for security reasons
