is pretty cool
but pretty pricy if one go with the SSD option
and the diod lcd backlight is also pretty nice
hope pda's adopt that kinda backlight to save juice too
I just seen the macbook air and its pretty thin, thin as though it would snap in half. Its also pretty expensive which isnt worth it for its specs. Who on earth would pay like 1100 pounds for a laptop that does Core 2 duo at 1.6mhz and has a Intel GMA graphic card.
I would say the macbook air is only worth it if you are a fashion concious buyer rather than a power user or a gamer
I use an Asus laptop that has a bigger display, twice much more RAM, and has a Nvidia 8600 GS graphic card for around the same price as a macbook air.
The only credit i would give to the macbook air is for being slim. Nothing else so special, although theres an optional solid state hard drive, but that cost extras.
The MacBook Air is par for the course for Apple. It's style over substance, and watered down to the lowest common denominator. I'll grant that Mac's are easier to use, until you try to do something that wasn't included from apple.

please let me know about this product if anybody has got one. I ordered one, will be receiving tomoro.
i have this.
I like it when i use it but thats only on trips usually.
The design is a little bulky on the sides but on the positive side its very padded so as not to scratch the device.
I like the little flap/clip things on the bottom. it provides a lil extra support because when my phone is still in its stock case it fits a little wierd but has never falllen out of the holder. The flaps are also far enough apart they don't get in the way of the charging or 3.5 jack.
The base fits snug in my cup holder which is a plus...
You will need to slide the right side of the case down as it wil continue to hit your volume keys but overall, though the design is not the prettiest, its functional, i trust it to hold my HD2 and was pretty cheap considering some of the other holders i've ran into.
I bought mine expecting the worst and it's came in handy quite a bit, i don't think you'll be disappointed.
Here's a Nook Color stand that is perfect for Altoid lovers who need to travel!
I wanted a stand for my NC for watching movies on a plane and for use on the road - but didn't want to spend money on it. So, here's my DIY "Stand in a Can". Materials are an empty Altoid can, 1/4" piece of wood and a couple of pencils. It works well and is surprisingly stable. The Altoid can itself can be used to change the viewing angle and add stability for portrait viewing.

What shell/case is that?
It's the Trident Aegis case. Best price is at Merit Line. I've had it a few weeks and really like it.

Like it! Makes me wish I knew tools. I'd make the oak base a little thicker and drill in some grooves to hold the pencils. But good solution for the masses.
I like it -- That is pretty darn clever!
ps. +1 for the Cafe Du Monde coffee tin in the background. We have one in our kitchen too
I'm impressed by the recent HzO technology that was stressed at CES 2012. I don't know if a waterproofed device can withstand high pressures underwater though.
However, arriving to this thread's topic, in case you are not aware, many manufacturers this year will be waterproofing their new tech gizmos before releasing them to the market. Unfortunately, there is no waterproofing DIY kit available, as far as I know. The Waterproofing material is only possible to inject in the internal components during the manufacturing process at the factories. Does anyone know if any such waterproofing material that can be injected exists?
In everyday use, it would be great to have this material in our expensive devices. I'd say this is worth the investment other than same-old screen protectors, Zagg, Cases, Pouches, and Zip-lock bags, lol.
Does anyone know if any such waterproofing material that can be injected exists?
Does Anyone Know?
I doubt it, even the HzO website talks about it being a while in the future.
For now you have to stick with this beautiful, slimline case:

For $500 I'll keep my XOOM. I don't like 8 even if it was designed more for tablets and AIO's. I'm not spending that much to lose productivity compared to my 7 laptop.
I'm waiting for the proper computer version to come out (you know with USB ports, a real processor, and all that other stuff) and an unreasonably large amount of money for no reason.
Surface seems good. But I would prefer buying a W8 laptop with bigger screen and better spec to buying Surface...

I'l go for the Surface for Win 8 Pro.
128 GB Space, 4 GB Ram, Intel i5, Full USB port, Pen Input too!
As someone that uses nothing but Linux based computing devices & computers, I have a feeling that I'm not in the market that MSFT is trying to cater to.
tl;dr = no

Hi guys
Has anyone tried out one of these two game controllers?
This one is 7,5 euros with free shipping:
http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/USB-Wir...t=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item4cf8520cd7
and
This one is about 20 euros with free shipping:
http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Univers...t=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item2c6b611360
I basically want a cheap game controller as I won't use it a lot anyways but it's a nice addition.
Thanks
Up
Not to hijack this thread but what I am thinking about kind of is a cheap game controller.
I am talking about those small joystick thingies which you just put on the screen. Are those ok for the N7? Is the smaller screen size an issue? Is there the risk of scratches?
Example:

I'd think there could be a space issue. That type of controller is designed to have the suction cups adhere to the edge of the screen beyond the visible area. The button part then sits on the screen where the on screen joystick gets drawn. From the reviews I've seen of it I'd guess that a casual gamer would like it but a serious one would break it.
See this link for how it sits on the screen: http://www.accessorygeeks.com/oem-...ninja-controller-2pk-t1-fln2-301-clr-blk.html
I use this style myself and like it but I'm a horrible gamer so anything that helps is good for me.
