Wing - Data - not working after new IM+ install

so as i have posted b4 with my problem
the data just stoped working
i fianlly figured out what the problem was/is again
the new v of im+ 4.53
after install and disconnect of it
i no longer have any data function
im uninstalled no change
emailed them about it..
im thinking some sort of reg problem?
any one of your wing brains know how to fix this?

I never unistalled IM+. I just reflashed with a new ROM and installed it. I suggest you do the same. If you're running the stock T-Mobile ROM, you'll be MUCH happier anyways.

It may be, bc the moment IM+ stops using the data connection, it tells the phone to disconnect it. Try going to the comm manager before and after you run IM+ and see if the data connection is open before and then check it after. The program might just be closing the data connection and you just need to reactivate it.
Also, if you're convinced the problem lies with IM+, go to their site, and see if there's something in their forum or report it.

ok, well on a fresh restart of the phone [power cycle] data connection is greyed out. soit seems data is disabled now
further more, if i try to connect right now, and it trys and fails, i dont get calls.. so i have to restart..
last time this happened i flashed up to open touch and still had the same problem
so how do i get the data connection active again, with out making my wing fly into a wall

in commanager "data" is allways greyed out!!!
it is only available for DISCONNECTING.
i don´t know why but it was like this all the time. also with wizard. no way to establish a connection manually. only by using IE or any other gprs-needing program.

i emailed shape services - waiting for there mail back now
any one have a install cab for the older version of im+
the one b4 they added myspace being 4.53 [current]
i want to try to set back one version and see if it works
but i dont think it will bc PIE will not connect - with having that totally removed from the phone
as i said this is the 4th time this has happened now and really dont want to go to my 5th repalcement wing..
installing the htc home 5 and black theme has gotten annoying so many times lol

atleast some good has come from this. the first time i had to ship the phone i went ot the local ups store, the 2nd time it happened i went and they know me already - had a help wanted sign, filled the app out and got the job
so thanks to defective phones i got a new job... which will be nice when it comes to having to ship the this one back when i get my next replacement..

Ive had to replace my Wing 4 times since I bought my first one in June.
MMS wouldn't send at all
TouchScreen stopped working
Earpiece stopped working
and I can't remember why it was replaced the other time.

yea on my 4th. im gonan try opentouch and pray. if not the wings going for a flight...

Are you running stock rom? or have you upgraded?

last time this happen i was on stock - went to open touch 2.4 didnt change anything.. so i ruu'ed back to stock b4 i sent it back
it happens on stock..
and stays with any upgrade i do

I dunno man. hard to say without being there personally. The Stock Rom sucks, and on top of that Tmo blocks ports and **** ...
When you installed Touch IT, did you run the network wizard to set up the correct settings?

yea did the whole 9 yards and nothing... phone just ahtes me
i would just go for a sidekick but i went n spoiled myself with the touch screen [this is my first] and i dont think i can go back to something so simple
just need a wing that will work and stay working

I just bought this phone off of a kid at school and I can't make or receive calls, so does anyone know how to fix this. Or what I would need to search because I couldn't find anything

first off dont do "that" you get in trouble real quick with so many dup-threads
if you know anything about flashing the radio, connect the phone to your computer and update the radio, read the wiki it should help
and btw this should work, let me know, i'm excited

My Att Tilt, seems to have problems with keeping the signal, Ej, im at my room, perfect signal, then suddenly, the signal goes away and never come back, till I push the reset button on the phone. The phone was windows 6.0, then I upgrade to a newer windows 6.0 , and then upgrade it to windows 6.1, but still the same problems
I download those upgrades at the HTC webpage, cause the ATT guy told me to do it...
Anything i can do?

If your phone attaches to a 3G signal and then none at all you need to warranty exchange it for a new one if possible. I spent months trying to find a fix for that and nothing ever worked on the 2 tilts that had the problem.

Disabling data connection from service provider TROUBLES

Hey guys I am sorry if this has been covered before but I can't find it. I have an unlocked euro diamond but I'm using rogers as my service provider. I have wifi at home but when im away from home I don't want the diamond to connect to rogers data connection at all but from time to time it says its on. How do I make it so that I can use the data connection when I want to manually but at the same time automatically not connect to data from rogers?

Do a search for 'no data' it will allow you to control your data connections

do a search on this forum? Nothing really comes up with what I need.

I have a euro diamond on Rogers now aswell
I find this way works to disable data connection
All Setter --> Connections ---> Connections
once you in there see if you have anything rogers related, if yes just delete that set up (you prob let the phone set it up for you when you first start up your phone in Toronto)
as long as you don't set up a connection in that tab. It will never connect to any E and G

is this something I have to plug into like active sync to see or is it in the phone. I cant find anything called allsetter, thanks so much for helping though

it's on the phone.. slider the botton menu to Settings
THen in there bottom left there is a tab that says All Settings. Hit that then once you there.. you will see Personal, System, Connections on the bottom. Tap the Connection Tap, once you there.. you should see an icon that says Connections. Hit that also.
After that it will show all your current set up data transfer network. If you see one there. Delete it then it should be ok.
If you got more problems just continue posting here, I need to head out for a bball game will come back afterwards to help if you still need

Oh actually I see it and i deleted the rogers internet in manage settings its working nice thanks! But when im out of wifi range this means i cant update at all liek weather or anything. So what I just did disabled the E and G connection but my phone radio connection to rogers still works and everything related to data will work with wifi? Thank you so much big bro!

yes correct. now you can only update if you are in a WiFi region. If you are not then you just can't update data but your phone will still work cause that is another separate setting.
Next time if you don't want data connection, remember NOT to allow the phone auto setup internet connection setting (usually after it finishes configuring the phone setting).

The thing is that yes you are right, but when my phone comes out of stand by theres a G and then it goes into wifi after 2 seconds. Do you know why? Is it using data?

displaying G or E or H is just letting you know what kind of signal the phone can pick up.. as long as the reception bars icon does not have a G or E or H or 3G beside and has an antenna sort of thing beside the bars then you are ok.
I'm assuming it turns to WiFi right away because you have WiFi on right? Turn WiFi off and tell me if the same thing happens

yes and it makes sense thanks haha im just so new to this smartphone stuff. I want to make it run faster and better with rom updates and stuff but theres so much content i don't know where to begin. no problem! I'm glad I can help! This is my first smartphone too had to learn a lot of stuff but this forum has been great in proving info on the phone

oh there is just one more problem. After I click on all people under people, it will open all my contacts/people and their numbers but after i change a view option, i can't go into all people anymore from touch flo, any ideas?

what do you mean by changing view option?

i was just toggling with the view options under menu when your in contacts. It wont let me back in all people or contacts unless I restart phone. All these people were moved over from rogers sim.

not sure about this. But I'm assuming it's a ROM issue.
Are you still using stock ROM? cause when i got this phone the stock ROM was VERY slow and buggy.

well all the ROM thread under the ROM Development section has all the instruction to how to flash a new ROM. Just REMEMBER to flash a HARD-SPL before you do any ROM updates or else it will brick your phone (dead phone)
My suggestion for ROM would be the dutty one. Been using it for the last 2 months and his ROM are clearly one of the best available out there.

How can I see a list of installed programs (and potentially remove them) even those in the ROM?
I installed that SD Mount fix application, but I see no icon for it, and it doesn't seem to work... I did power down my phone and restart it.
Task manager? Is there one without installing it? I know there is one that's suppose to be bound to a hardware key, but we can't get to it...
Sorry I'm a noob... any good sites for learning about android?

Still no icon anywhere for SD Share or whatever... this is what I'm getting in Windows device manager when I look:

haha automount is floating around here somewhere. i prefer that. does what it says. and yeah it usually takes a minute for the sdcard to show up. im on windows7 aswell

Hi everyone, still having some issues. I hope you can help...
First of all, I seem to be stuck in airplane mode. WHen I got to settings wireless controls it's not checked, but long hold down the red key shows it's on. I have no airplane mode icon in the top portion of my screen.
Secondly, and this is how it got started, the Facebook application wouldn't upload a picture... it went to 80% the first time I tried it, then I killed it, and tried again and never got passed 0%. It was at this point I decided to try to turn off and back on the data and got stuck in the mode I'm in...
Should I upgrade to 3.42.50 radio, I'm on .30. Using Alltel phone on VZW network...

you could try that and start with a fresh data and see if that helps

I can't get the damn Vogue radio 3.42.50 radio only to flash. It gives me an error saying command not supported or something to that effect...

Using the ROMUpdateUtility... I said f'it though and flashed the Bell ROM that had it included, didn't let customizations run then flashed back to Android...
I really can't decide between the two common resolutions... Does everything work correctly in the lower one, maybe a bit of clipping and it's clearer? Hard to decide...

your internet probably wont work in android cause you have to let it provision in wm first. 240x320 looks crystal clear but nothing fits right. 320x480 is a tad fuzzy but its not that bad. plus everything fits right. 320x428 is right in the middle. its pretty clear but most of the stuff fit. i use 320x480 cause i cant stand the fact that nothing fits in the other resolutions

My internet is working fine...I'm curious if I'm getting RevA EVDO though, it seems a bit slower than it was in WinMo...

Do I need to setup an APN? I noticed the two listed are TMobile and Tellus... Maybe this would speed up my internet? Anyone know?
My Windows Mobile was setup on alltel... [email protected] or whatever...
I tried to Google Alltel APN setup and came up blank...

Hello, after doing more research, I read that CDMA carriers don't require APN settings. Is this true? Should I just delete out all the APNs in the Settings on my Touch (Alltel/Verizon)?
Also, can someone tell me about the network operators screen? Do I ever need to use it. When I go into it, it says 'Searching...' but never completes. I have to back out.

just leave the apn's. and yes it always says searching and never goes anywhere lol

Installation Fail

Hi ive been following Easiest Step-By-Step Android Tutorial for the Vogue
I have spl 2.31 COke
The tar on the sd card in the phone in the andboot folder
Ive used rom update utility with the latest 240 nbh (i also tested older ones with no success)
When the phone boots up it vibrates with the green light, 2 sec later it is orange light and 2 vibrates, the it boots into into linux i get no message telling me to hold volume up or the center button. Instead it runs through some code and ends with "rebooting in 3 seconds"

aparently i'm blind, i re-read the last part and don't know what his problem is still.

I get the same error when trying from a sd card too.
This may be unrelated, but on windows mobile when the phone goes to sleep, i cant get out of it without restarting the phone. Ive tried tapping and holding every button. Its incredibly annoying. For now i have sleep disabled, and have to charge more often.
Im thinking my windows mobile is corrupt, so i may revert back to the locked rom, hard reset and start over...again
anyways, here is the error in more detail on my error in linux (attached)

What radio do you have, try updating to the latest version? It's crashing while initialising the real time clock. This could happen if you have an old radio.

I mean the error. For the problem, flash the latest radio. I had the same problem on my kaiser when I used a 1.65 radio.

I fixed all my problems. It may have been the radio as suggested, but i decided to start from scratch.
I flashed back to the locked Verizon rom
Made sure everything worked (sms, mms calling, data)
Unlocked with coke
Installed NFSFAN's Rom
Then Android, which works great now
My radio is 3.77. Im sure its not the latest but its working
I dont have a data plan, but im trying to get mms and gps working.
Its weird i can recieve mms but not send.
gps doesnt work at all

gps is a pain in the ass without being able to use agps

I know, my current network doesn't have AGPS support. Takes forever in windows. A bit faster in android though. I just leave it on overnight with gps test and in the morning, it see a couple of satellite. I then take it outside for a while then I get about 5-6 satellite in lock
