does any one have the ppc install for the older version

went to connectiong settings and forced roam to att
then back to tmo - and i have very veyr slow data activiity now
and i had uninstalled the program so i needed the cab
i think i found a work around to fix this problem i have lol
still getin a new repalcement but this time ill know how to fix it myself lol

the data stoped working
so i call they send me a new one and it heeps happening to me
ok so update the data still is not working
i really am about to shoot it with a 50cal
now i just need to get a 50cal lol

I really shouldnt have to ask this but stranger things have happened......youve run the Network Wizard right?

i run stock rom and this happens
ive reset the connection info and everything
after the last time this happen i put opentouch on and hoped - no change tho...

I mean run the Network Wizard. Have you done that? It has a globe with a magic wand as an icon.

thats no where on the wing as far as i know...
lol if its osmethign this simple ill hit my head into the wall..

The stock rom doesn't have the network wizard.
But the stock rom also has certain things blocked, bc tmo wants u to use their ****.

Flash to open touch or touch-it, run the network wizard and see if that fixes it.

did that the last time, i had run it and set it for tmobile, still didnt work.
i thoguht u were talking about the stock rom
i tried touch it 2.4 and it didnt work
so ill just wait for the new replacement

Disabling data connection from service provider TROUBLES

Hey guys I am sorry if this has been covered before but I can't find it. I have an unlocked euro diamond but I'm using rogers as my service provider. I have wifi at home but when im away from home I don't want the diamond to connect to rogers data connection at all but from time to time it says its on. How do I make it so that I can use the data connection when I want to manually but at the same time automatically not connect to data from rogers?

Do a search for 'no data' it will allow you to control your data connections

do a search on this forum? Nothing really comes up with what I need.

I have a euro diamond on Rogers now aswell
I find this way works to disable data connection
All Setter --> Connections ---> Connections
once you in there see if you have anything rogers related, if yes just delete that set up (you prob let the phone set it up for you when you first start up your phone in Toronto)
as long as you don't set up a connection in that tab. It will never connect to any E and G

is this something I have to plug into like active sync to see or is it in the phone. I cant find anything called allsetter, thanks so much for helping though

it's on the phone.. slider the botton menu to Settings
THen in there bottom left there is a tab that says All Settings. Hit that then once you there.. you will see Personal, System, Connections on the bottom. Tap the Connection Tap, once you there.. you should see an icon that says Connections. Hit that also.
After that it will show all your current set up data transfer network. If you see one there. Delete it then it should be ok.
If you got more problems just continue posting here, I need to head out for a bball game will come back afterwards to help if you still need

Oh actually I see it and i deleted the rogers internet in manage settings its working nice thanks! But when im out of wifi range this means i cant update at all liek weather or anything. So what I just did disabled the E and G connection but my phone radio connection to rogers still works and everything related to data will work with wifi? Thank you so much big bro!

yes correct. now you can only update if you are in a WiFi region. If you are not then you just can't update data but your phone will still work cause that is another separate setting.
Next time if you don't want data connection, remember NOT to allow the phone auto setup internet connection setting (usually after it finishes configuring the phone setting).

The thing is that yes you are right, but when my phone comes out of stand by theres a G and then it goes into wifi after 2 seconds. Do you know why? Is it using data?

displaying G or E or H is just letting you know what kind of signal the phone can pick up.. as long as the reception bars icon does not have a G or E or H or 3G beside and has an antenna sort of thing beside the bars then you are ok.
I'm assuming it turns to WiFi right away because you have WiFi on right? Turn WiFi off and tell me if the same thing happens

yes and it makes sense thanks haha im just so new to this smartphone stuff. I want to make it run faster and better with rom updates and stuff but theres so much content i don't know where to begin. I want to do it myself but I don't want to mes it up. I just gotta learn from all of you. Thanks a lot bigbro!

no problem! I'm glad I can help! This is my first smartphone too had to learn a lot of stuff but this forum has been great in proving info on the phone

oh there is just one more problem. After I click on all people under people, it will open all my contacts/people and their numbers but after i change a view option, i can't go into all people anymore from touch flo, any ideas?

what do you mean by changing view option?

i was just toggling with the view options under menu when your in contacts. It wont let me back in all people or contacts unless I restart phone. All these people were moved over from rogers sim.

not sure about this. But I'm assuming it's a ROM issue.
Are you still using stock ROM? cause when i got this phone the stock ROM was VERY slow and buggy.

well all the ROM thread under the ROM Development section has all the instruction to how to flash a new ROM. Just REMEMBER to flash a HARD-SPL before you do any ROM updates or else it will brick your phone (dead phone)
My suggestion for ROM would be the dutty one. Been using it for the last 2 months and his ROM are clearly one of the best available out there.

Getting SprintTV to work on Wifi

Hey all,
I am by no means a dev, but I have had some interesting revelations on the Sprint TV app. I've been messing with the apk and found I can run the app if I delete the check_wifi.lua file. If I try to edit it, it will crash. I tried changing the ip address it checks for wifi, but it won't install if I do that.
I think it'd be an easy thing to do, but I know very little about all this. Any thoughts?

All I did was open it in notepad and changed the last number in the ip address to a 0 so that it would fail to see wifi is on. Since I honestly don't know what signing it is, perhaps this is best left out of my hands.

I got it to work by switching back and forth between it and other apps. Now it has been working every time i launch it.

Ok, I have been able to active Wifi while Sprint TV is running, but it still doesn't get a channel listing.

sprint tv started working for me tonight over 3G. No idea why. Only show I was able to watch was The View. Go figure.

even with that i couldnt get it to work ... so after several frustrating reboots
I FINALLY GOT A LISTING!!
at first, it was telling me that i needed to subscribe to every damn channel i tried to watch
but when i went to the subscriptions menu, i saw that i was already subscribed to everything
some more reboots later everything loaded and i could watch channels
now the whole Wifi thing could probably get fixed by some baksmali/smali edits ... im still trying to get a grasp on how to do this so cant help with that yet :\

My tv app works over 3g now.

My tv started working once i hit 3g in my area no reboot

mine just started worrking all of sudden too ! so I installed on my wifes mt3g also worked after a while by itself ?! I had widget on at that time anyways if you dont get it to work try again its really well worth it !

Yes, just about all streaming video needs either wifi or 3g.

AH GRR! that is lame.. ya are so lucky!

Ive been able to stream over Edge. I dont have 3g in my area yet. I also had issues at first with anything loading but after waiting like everyone else i got listings and eventually i was able to watch the office on edge. Def not worth the wait but progress.

my sprint tv also shows that i have subscriptions. but when i go to all channels to try to watch those channels listed in my subscriptions it still asks me to subscribe and buy.
??? help??? i've only been able to watch one channel for free and its the sprint exclusive stuff.

AT&T Nexus cannot stay connected on Cell Data Connection...

This morning my phone was working perfectly fine, steaming pandora and everything. I put it in my pocket for a while, and in the afternoon when I took it out, I have 5 bars of signal, but no data connection. The E or 3G icon just doesn't show up. I go to *#*#INFO#*#* then phone information, and find out that the data connection is turned off. So I press menu, and then "enable data connection." The 3G icon pops back up, but within 2 seconds, it disappears again. Then I try my SIM card in an old, phone, everything works perfectly, I try another AT&T SIM card in my Nexus, but same connection issue. Anyone else having this problem, or any fixed known?

Did you check your APN settings?

Yeah, APN setting are the same as this morning, and I made then to match the APN settings on the old phone that did work. I'm using the wap.cingular, settings...

You're holding it wrong.

Same exact thing used to happen on my 8525. It's a problem on ATT's end.

Really? I guess I'll wait a little bit, and see how it turns out. I can't understand why the data connection works perfectly with my SIM card in another phone though....

I'm experiencing this right now too. I just use WiFI until it goes away.
Occasionally for work I have to use my Kaiser, and everytime this has happened, its been when I've switched SIM cards back and forth...

I have experienced this issue since installing the latest FroYo build. I find it usually starts when I turn on wifi and there is no wifi around. After that it just seems to kill the data connection. I moved back to Cyanogen since not having a data connection makes me very sad.

I've experiencing this since FRF83. I updated to FRF85B today and we'll see if this still happens. Although I think our cell tower might be screwy because my gf's Motorola Cliq running Android 1.6 or something, will experience the same thing.
Yesterday, while running FRF83 on my N1... her's was working fine and my neighbors N1 running FRF50 was working too. I couldn't get EDGE or 3G on Tmobile. A reboot fixed it so maybe it was a fluke. We'll see as time goes on.

If you don't use switch pro, then good luck!

I even did 3 resets, but each time I installed the wdiget back on. Now that I've uninstalled it, it works perfectly

It turns out this widget was the problem for me. When I got rid of it my network went back to normal.

[Q] Forgotten wireless network

Ok I'm a moron.
I accidentaly told my nook to forget a wireless network and now I can't get it back. I've looked all through settings and don't see anything that would allow me to reset this. I've tried scanning as well.
I'm running gingerbread the CM7 mod.
Sorry I tried searching but when you look for something like 'resetting' you get a lot of threads about resetting back to stock which is not what I want to do.
Is there a way to I don't know purge the wireless settings so it will search for networks that it has been told to forget?

When you tell it to forget it doesn't blacklist a Network, it just Removes it from your preferred Networks and forgets the Password. It should reapear on the list of Available networks if in Range.
If it won't show up even when standing next to it do this.
-Download Wifi Analyzer from Market.
-Open App Punch Menu and Tap View. Select AP List.
-Look for the Network and Tap it. It might prompt for a Plugin from Market. Just Download and continue.
-When Window pops up put in Password and hit Connect. TaDa it should now work.

Well I don't know if its a glitch in system or the mod itself but when I got home my nook wouldn't connect to my home network either. It kept saying I was out of range even when I was sitting in the room with the router.
So I ended up just reinstalling gingerbread. My instal was only a week old do no real biggie for me just annoying.
Ill just make sure not to ever forget a network again as it apparently Jones up my system

Hey I have the same problem going on right now. My system wont connect to anything. The wifi status just keeps saying connecting and then will eventually turn off. I think I am going to use this as an excuse to try out Deeper-Blue's Honeycomb preview.
