Hey lads,
I'm looking for a reliable and efficient registry editor for my Kaiser and I'd love to hear sth from you... I already use CeRegEditor but it runs from the desktop through ActiveSync... I'd love one which runs directly from the Kaiser. Suggestions? (Possibly freeware!)
Thank you,
ciao.

I highly recommend Resco Registry Editor, which comes as part of Resco File Explorer, which is a great File Explorer - many improvements over the built-in File Explorer. Resco makes it easy to edit the Registry, to export sections for backup and/or reinstall after hard reset or new flash.
Total Commander CE Its free from http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
I use Rescoe (comes with their File Explorer) and think it is great; also, SK Tools also has a nice Registrey editor as part of their SK Tools software.

For most purposes Total Commander and PHM Registry Editor are straightforward and easy to use

dotfred's Taskmanager
IMO dotfred's TaskManager is one of the best PPC tools with a lot of features, including a powerful Registry Editor.
For strictly registry editing, go with Resco Registry Editor.

Does anyone have a freeware Registry Editor?
I tried downloading the recommend ones from freewareppc.com but neither of the best two are linked any more; PHM Registry Editor v0.70
and BitsInside RegEdit v1.2
Also is there a good theme switcher that you can preview the file?
TIA.
I've installed on my WM5 BA the PHM Reg Editor, works fine... (also with WM2003SE)
Try
http://www.ghisler.com/ce.htm
It's free and has other features.
or TRE registry editor also freeware.
p.s. the one uppermost is not always the best, and look at the version and time, 2002 version 0.70 now it is 2.3 or later
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/tre.shtml
Thanks for the answers.
I went to the TRE site but that show it is a Windows CE editor. Will this work on Windows Mobile 2003SE?
Dave
Where can I find a good REG EDITOR program......I had one before I flashed to wm6.1
www.google.com
I mostly use the freeware "Total Commander". There are better standalone registry editors out there, but TC has other worthwhile functions as well.
You might look at "PHM RegEdit" currently in open Beta test, but works.
If you actually want to buy a registry editor, I can recommend "Resco Registry" as with most other Resco products, its very nice.
Apologies in advance for asking what is probably an easy question.
I'm familiar with using RegEdit on W2K but am not sure how to go about tweaking the registry on my HTC 370. Any help/guidance appreciated.

Go for Mobile Registry Editor: http://www.breaksoft.com/Blog/Utilities/2005/1/Mobile_Registry_Editor.aspx (for free). And next time UTFG
I personally use PHM to edit mine, works well and was free. Its the same as your computers OS essentially.
CeRegEditor for me. Editing the registry from the computer.. Alot easier than editing registry with mobile software..
Microsoft has their own remote registry editor (similar to the out of development MobileRegistryEditor linked kindly above). The only thing is that it installs a remote client on the phone when you run it, but it has more features than the RAPI only MobileRegistryEditor. Most of the time, I use MobileRegistryEditor though.
Thanks guys for all your help. I'd Googled this but as you can appreciate there are a LOT of registry editing packages out there and the last thing I wanted was to bodge my new HTC730 with some n00b reg hacks.
For those looking for a registry editing solution, here's a summary of the packages people have kindly responded with. From what I understand, all of these programs will let you edit your mobile's registry from the comfort of your PC.

PHM Registry Editor:

You'll find this sort of encouraged "self-censoring" mechanism on this forum (example being above). I think people try to keep this forum more advanced than, for example, howardforums... I don't really care though and that's all that matters.
I want to edit kaiser's registry when I try custom kaiser's rom.
how do it?
What are the tools?
Thank you
Depending on which rom you use there usually is a registry editor cooked in.
If you have to ask this question, I recommend not editing the registry.... Anyway, search for registry editors, there are many of them. Good luck
Use PHM Registry Editor or Total Commander or simular aps, seriously my friend. You should search a bit before making such tread.
Schaps regedt
Here u go my friend, no need to say thanks.
Thanks a lot. It's good.
CERegEditor
How about this one.
Lets you interact with your registry from your PC.
Nice free app.

got error loading this file http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ceregedit_setup.exe
i want to change my message font size and fount out the way to do it is through the registiry but i dont know how to get into it, do i need a programme to do it?
Total Commander might help you.
I think SKTools for PocketPC
is the best for your pocketpc.
backup, tweak, cleanup, defrag, …does it all!
compatible with wm 2003, wm5, wm6 classic and pro.
MOD EDIT:
No warez!
FDCSoft Task manager (100% free, google it) is an extremely competent registry editor/taskmanager, which is one of the first things i put on any new ROM I flash. I highly recommend it.
Dave
Of course, all of that was something Search would have given you.
You can purchase SKTools from this website http://www.s-k-tools.com/index.html?m_main.html , there is a trial version as well.
