This might sound like a stupid question but, have any of u guys been able to send touch tones on your wing. I mean like not through the keypad, but like a no. from the contacts list. Almost every phone has this feature. I just thought i would discover it after some days. 5 months now and zilch. Please tell me i must be overlooking some little thing.
Thanks,
I don't really understand the question.

You mean like being able to press and hold the number 2 and have it dial your girlfriend type of thing? If that's the case and you're using the HTCTouch pad, just press down while you're in the pad.

I am sorry for being so unclear. I usually use calling cards to call my home country. In order to do that i have to dial a access number, a pin number and then the long distance phone number. I had an older Nokia 6019i. In that phone
i use to have my dads phone number stored as....
xxx(calling card pin)xxx(long distance number).
I mean all those numbers i use to store in the number field of the phone book entry. Then i just use to call the access number. Select call options from the Nokia call menu. Then select "send touch tones". Search for the phone number as you would do in any phonebook. Select the number and press send. It would send all those numbers as tones.. as if i was dialing them...but much much faster.
Hope that clears it up or messes up the question even further
I found this in a quick search. May it can help you.

This new version, which is in BETA, works on Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. It is resolution aware, so it will work fine on QVGA and Landscape screens.

Seems to be a little nicer than the other one.
Hey duprade,
Thanks for all the info man. Will try both of them. Its a pity that such a feature which is natively available on lower end devices, is not there on a WM device. But thanks again, those applications will definitely fit my purpose.

I know this is a bit of an odd question, but is there a way to have two different today screens on the Tilt, one for when the keyboard is closed and one for when its open?
I want this because i dont like having to scroll down on the little scroll bar to access the programs below when the key board is open.

is there a program or a setting that could do this?
And to refrain from posting 2 threads, is there a way to schedule your phones ring volume? like every week day from Time A to time B its vibrate and the rest its not?
I think the answer is yes, and yes.
I'm pretty sure the phone uses different pic files when changing resolution upon opening the Tilt. I don't know of a program to set it but I bet there is one. I'm surprised no one has helped on that yet. Hang in there.
There are several programs to set the phone volume at a schedule. This is called a "phone profile". PocketZen Phone and SPB Phone Suite are two examples.
Try a search, see my sig fo link. Good luck.
If you use Resco Picture Viewer and set one picture as a wallpaper when on portrait mode, and then another when you're on landscape mode, you'll get two different wallpapers.
If anyone knows of another method I would like to know aswell.
Cheers
Ok pizzaguy wants 2 diferant screens on slide open and closed. Not only change the wallpaper (background). Well pizzaguy I hope someone can help u because then they would also be helping me.... I want the same thing. Later dude.....
I think the only solution is Wisbar Advance Desktop.
That can create a page for portrait and one for landscape.
There is a program from a company called Netwasp, Thememaker M, that allows you to make WM6 themes with a portrait and landscape Graphic that are different. I'm using it to make themes for my Tilt, and it works great

I use PhoneWeaver from http://www.SBSH.net for this, and love it. I have it set up to be on vibrate during normal business hours, quite after I put my daughter down to bed, silent at night while I'm sleeping, and loud rest of the time. Everything can be completely scheduled based on time/days. You can also set up different alerts for Phone/Mail/SMS/etc. based on these profiles as well. The only issues that I have come across is that it doesn't turn Wifi off correctly, but I think there is a work-around for this.
Does anyone have a lead on a SIP that will do straight up old-school style text messaging? All I'm looking for is a SIP that kinda looks like:
123
456
789
*0#
All I want is to be able to hit a button, it will hold on the letter for just a moment so you can press again, or move to the next digit. No predictive t9, no having to hit superfluous buttons to actually input the word. Just real old school texting. Even a way to do this via customizing an existing SIP would suffice.

and u would want this on the wing because???
Easy - one handed texting and text input when the situation calls for it. I mean, why does M$ put in a SIP on our devices to begin with? Not like we don't have that full blown keyboard under there. I want something that I can use on the fly that doesn't require manual dexterity or practice to get use to.
There's one floating around somewhere...I had it on my Wing before I flashed the 6.1 on it...gotta see if I can find it again...it also did T9 as well..I got a email from Handango that there is a program that has two letters a key like the Pearl, or Shadow and you can text that way....costs money though
how about the touch keypad and keyboard ?
I use TouchPAL by cootek or something like that for one handed texting, and I have found it to be quite useful.
They were giving it away for free on their site .. and then they offer a pro version which has predictive text... I dunno if they are still doing that.

This looks exactly like what I've been wanting! Just downloaded, I'll edit in a while once it gets loaded and played around with.
Hi, I am in the UK, on T-Mobile, we have new phones for work, XDA Orbit 2s on 02. I tried calling one of the guys on mu Kaiser, never used video before, but it fails straight away, asks what you want to do. I got 3G and good signal.
Any ideas??? Is there a setting or something??
Thanks.
James
Arr, it maybe that I am PAYG!
If it's failing immediately (as in way too soon for a call to have been attempted), then that's a sign that your network needs to activate Video Calling on your account.
I found this with T-Mobile, made a video call 18 months ago, tried again recently and it failed. After flashing several ROMs (same result) I called T-Mobile, they activated video calling and I made a call successfully a minute later.
If there's a delay between starting the call and it failing, then the problem is with the other person's phone or network rather than yours.
Ok I can't seem to get it to work either, i'll attach my screenshots in next post:
What am I missing? I think that in services I'm missing a video call option. I called my carrier and she said I would have to go into phone and activate the service so it could activate with the network. I was like ....... and then ended the call.

Ok, it's not that big of a deal, but I want the stock TP dialer back!
When I installed Diamond Tweaker on my TP, I got this dialpad!

(Its gray buttons and a white background and no Yoshi, but I DON't WANT THIS ONE! It turned my Vibration when the person i called picked up the phone off!)
How can I get rid of this one? If there is any way by doing a Hard Reset it would be grealy appritiated!!
Open Diamond Tweaker and go to item "1.8 Phone Pad Style", make sure you have Diamond(Default) select at the bottom and not Windows Mobile Standard.
Then do a soft reset.
I think that should fix your problem.
come on, if it's not a big deal, don't say it RUINS your phone. And if you don't know how to use the Diamond Tweaker to change the dial pad, why install it in the first place?

Why are you so negative? I mean COME ON!!! I don't want this dialer, I want the stock one!
And I do know that it says this, But I use the Norwegian Diamond Tweaker, and the name Phone dial pad or anything like that isn't there! It has a totaly different name, which I don't - IN ANY WAYS - Assosiate with the Dialpad!
Also! I've checked every options (Inkluding this one MANY THIMES!) And non of them are changing this to the "Normal" dialpad.
Also the soft reset did not work.
On 1.8 (In norwegian Grensesnitt) it says Windows and Diamond, I've tried both, with Soft reset.. The same dialpad on both! hmmm
Could be a bug. You should go to the diamond tweak website and post about it.

Yeah, I did. Didn't work
The worst thing is that I haven't used my phone for even 2 months! hehe, but this was my first Hard Reset and let's say that before I reseted it, it was just a trying of phone
So; I have now Hard Reseted the phone - Just for the record
But thanks, I guess it was all fu**** up, since a stock dialpad .cab did not work! hehe
But really, thanks You guys are the best
I set up the greeting for the answering machine and enabled it but calls still just go to my regular voicemail? How to I properly set this up?
Check Step 5 to adjust time before answering machine start record call
Step 1
Go to settings on the Sony Xperia Z2. You can access settings via the notification bar or the app launcher.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Step 2
Open the Call settings option.
Step 3
You’d be able to see quite a few options in the 'Other Call Settings'. Tap on 'Answering Machine' to proceed.
Step 4
Simply hit the checkbox against the Answering Machine. Now, let’s take a look at the options available allowing you to take the maximum benefit of this feature.
Step 5
The 'Pick up after' option gives you the ability to configure the exact time when the call should be answered automatically. You can also use this feature when you’re roaming, although you’ll incur charges for incoming calls.
Step 6
'Greetings' is a vital feature, since this is where you’ll be recording the voice message you want to be played back to callers. You can also record different messages for various situations and then simply select any of them, depending upon your need. Sadly, there’s no granular control and all the callers will get to hear the same message – you can't limit this to certain contacts or set different greetings for different ones.
Step 7
The best part about the feature is that the caller can also record a message for you after hearing your greeting, ensuring that you can get important messages in case of an emergency.
Here’s the Answering Machine feature in action
You can also pick up the call when the person is leaving you a message, if you deem it important.
There you go, you’ve successful set up the Answering Machine feature on your swanky Sony Xperia Z2! Let us know in comments below how this feature works for you and whether you’d like such options to be available on other smartphones.
Thanks got it working, the only thing I don't like is if I reject the call, it sends them to my T-Mobile Voicemail instead of the built in answering machine.

You can have the voice mail service turned off by your provider, I do this by default as mine charged for listening to voice mails.
