I set up the greeting for the answering machine and enabled it but calls still just go to my regular voicemail? How to I properly set this up?
Check Step 5 to adjust time before answering machine start record call
Step 1
Go to settings on the Sony Xperia Z2. You can access settings via the notification bar or the app launcher.

Step 2
Open the Call settings option.
Step 3
You’d be able to see quite a few options in the 'Other Call Settings'. Tap on 'Answering Machine' to proceed.
Step 4
Simply hit the checkbox against the Answering Machine. Now, let’s take a look at the options available allowing you to take the maximum benefit of this feature.
Step 5
The 'Pick up after' option gives you the ability to configure the exact time when the call should be answered automatically. You can also use this feature when you’re roaming, although you’ll incur charges for incoming calls.
Step 6
'Greetings' is a vital feature, since this is where you’ll be recording the voice message you want to be played back to callers. You can also record different messages for various situations and then simply select any of them, depending upon your need. Sadly, there’s no granular control and all the callers will get to hear the same message – you can't limit this to certain contacts or set different greetings for different ones.
Step 7
The best part about the feature is that the caller can also record a message for you after hearing your greeting, ensuring that you can get important messages in case of an emergency.
Here’s the Answering Machine feature in action
You can also pick up the call when the person is leaving you a message, if you deem it important.
There you go, you’ve successful set up the Answering Machine feature on your swanky Sony Xperia Z2! Let us know in comments below how this feature works for you and whether you’d like such options to be available on other smartphones.
Thanks got it working, the only thing I don't like is if I reject the call, it sends them to my T-Mobile Voicemail instead of the built in answering machine.

You can have the voice mail service turned off by your provider, I do this by default as mine charged for listening to voice mails.

This might sound like a stupid question but, have any of u guys been able to send touch tones on your wing. I mean like not through the keypad, but like a no. from the contacts list. Almost every phone has this feature. I just thought i would discover it after some days. 5 months now and zilch. Please tell me i must be overlooking some little thing.
Thanks,
I don't really understand the question.

You mean like being able to press and hold the number 2 and have it dial your girlfriend type of thing? If that's the case and you're using the HTCTouch pad, just press down while you're in the pad.

I am sorry for being so unclear. I usually use calling cards to call my home country. In order to do that i have to dial a access number, a pin number and then the long distance phone number. I had an older Nokia 6019i. In that phone
i use to have my dads phone number stored as....
xxx(calling card pin)xxx(long distance number).
I mean all those numbers i use to store in the number field of the phone book entry. Then i just use to call the access number. Select call options from the Nokia call menu. Then select "send touch tones". Search for the phone number as you would do in any phonebook. Select the number and press send. It would send all those numbers as tones.. as if i was dialing them...but much much faster.
Hope that clears it up or messes up the question even further
I found this in a quick search. May it can help you.

This new version, which is in BETA, works on Windows Mobile 2003 and Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. It is resolution aware, so it will work fine on QVGA and Landscape screens.

Seems to be a little nicer than the other one.
Hey duprade,
Thanks for all the info man. Will try both of them. Its a pity that such a feature which is natively available on lower end devices, is not there on a WM device. But thanks again, those applications will definitely fit my purpose.
BIO.ID. is a program for Windows Mobile phones.
It displays user identification gate, eye iris, fingerprint, or voice,
when the new text message arrives.
In other words, it is a new text message notification alert.
It replaces the default system notification
with much better effects. Plus, a few new functions.
Because Windows Mobile phones have not build-in identification sensors,
at least for now, in 2008, this is only simulation, only a fake.
But it allows you to feel much better, and in some situation to really wow your friend.

I'm looking for a call recording app that will work on the Eris. It needs to record both incoming and outgoing calls without requiring you to use the speaker phone. Tried vRecorder and it works some times but doesn't record all calls - fails to record calls for no apparent reason. I've searched the market and googled everything imaginable and can't find mention of anyone who found one that works on the eris. Some look promising but either state they don't work on the droid of comments state they don't work on the droid...not sure this means they will also not work on the Eris.
If anyone has found one that works on the eris please let me know. Thanks!
Use google voice. It gives you a new number, but I think you can route incoming calls to it.
Easy way - here's a QR Code. Or search for it.

Yeah, I tried google voice but it only allows recording of incoming calls, not outgoing.
I also tried recordoid and it worked for the very first call I received but never worked again.
I would love to try this app, any spare invites?
Ultimate Voice Recorder
PM me and i'll get it too you.
Bump
Looking for an app that record both incoming and outgoing calls with the incoming voice recorded without it being on speakerphone.
Tried Totall Recall and VoiceTask but can't seem to get them to work.
Try ultimate voice recorder. Its on the market for a couple of bucks or just google it for a free version. Records all calls incoming and outgoing. Or lets you pick which contacts to record.

Please don't revive dead threads just to up your post count. Guess we're done with the 10-post requirement for the dev section.
Is there a easy way to reject all calls other than shutting off your phone doing it individually 250 times or placing it on silent? Ran a search nothing came up.

Umm you could either turn off your phone or put the number is the reject #.
Not sure what you're trying to do here..
Settings --> Call Settings --> Voice Call --> Call Forwarding --> Always Forward
Give ur vmail number there.
U can get ur vmail number from below options where it says forward when busy/unanswered/etc.
I never tried this before, but its something u cud give a try.

Generally, apps kick in after signal reaches phone. If app takes a second or two to kick in, it may trigger a ringing on both ends till the app takes over. Disabling in settings sets it at carrier level, so ur phone won't even know there was ever a call.
Just my opinion on using an app to block calls.
Good point.
Easy Filter quickly throws the phone in-then-out of silent mode so you never hear or feel (vibrate) the call come in. If it wasn't for Google Voice (use it for voicemail) alerting me that I missed a call, I wouldn't know it took place.
Also, being that it logs who is calling, you get to see a report of who gets blocked and how often they call and when. It comes in handy if you're being harassed/annoyed.

Q & D
A sneaky but effective way to block all calls and send them directly to voicemail (with the voicemail greeting message) is to turn on airplane mode.
I'm using this because I'm switching phones and I want callers to the old number to know what the new one is. Eventually I will retire the old number.
I've just taken delivery of a Note 9, and I can't find anyway of configuring the phone so that once the "screen saver" screen has gone dark, one can be aware of a delivered message (if you didn't hear it) without constantly keep "liveing" the phone up with the power button to check.
All my previous Samsung and HTC phones had a little discrete flashing light, which made one aware of any awaiting incoming messages, without having to physicaly constantly check the phone every few minutes, "just in case'!
I hopeing that there is a way to incorporate a feature like this, or it goes straight in the bin?!
You can rule out in battery savings or go the app and set up what you need.my message just pup up.you can even set it as a hidden message ,just a notification

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but I forgot to say that you're dealing with an idiot here!!
I've gone all through the settings menu and turned off anything that relates to saving power, in any shape or form, but still no joy.
As for creating an application to reconfigure the phone, I'll afraid that that is way beyond me, unless you can actually list me a "stage by stage" set of instructions to preform it?
I am quite willing to give you/someone a small fee to do this on my behalf, as it will save me throwing it away. Ta
