Sounds to me your best bet is to flash your Tilt with a Kaiser ROM or cooked custom ROM. It also sounds like you have a lot of reading to do so that you know what you are getting into.

Because if you dont, your kaiser will magically turn into a 400$

Couldn't said it better, ALOT of reading to do.
Lol, I'm pretty sure you could've found a better looking brick.

This better?

Dang.. I'd rather have a $400 Brick than this stupid no graphics havin laggy touch screen havin choppy video havin BRICK

The cube and that home screen (in the picture) are two very different things. Aside from being separate programs, there's this:
The HTC Home Plugin (that picture) is a fully working program that you can pretty much install on any device without trouble. It is very useful and generally has no bugs.
The Cube, or TouchFLO, etc, is kind of working on various devices, but is often buggy, and even when fully working isn't that useful. I had it and got rid of it, because with as much as it does, most of that wasn't useful to me.
The Home Plugin can be found on this page:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344544
I would also recommend HTC Album, among others. You will need to do a lot of reading to really get an idea of what is good and what doesn't, but for everything on that page, you should be safe enough just installing stuff and seeing what you like. Be aware that a lot of it isn't so useful (but is there for people who want it for whatever reason). If you don't know what one of those programs is, try searching for the name and seeing what comes up. If you install all those programs, you may very likely slow your device down to the point where you'd rather not have all of it. If you do that, a hard reset followed by re-installation of the good programs is best, as you may not be able to fully uninstall everything easily. Just so you know.
In the end, do lots of reading. Searching for those programs' names for more info is a great starting point, as i said.

Kaiser Dialpad for ATT Tilt?

So after nearly two years with the HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) I got the ATT Tilt (8925) / Kaiser 3 days ago and am super happy with it. However, I've been using a great 3rd party rom for my Wizard and it had a fantastic dialpad, and from what I heard the Kaiser also has an amazing dialpad as well, but for some reason or another AT&T screwed it up and placed a craptacular dialpad on the Tilt with super tiny buttons and their branding all over it.
I've poked around in the Kaiser forums but have yet to see the DialPad posted from it. So I was hoping someone could post it or link me to it if I just missed it some place.
Also, does anyone know if a cab of what I think is called Touch Flow from the HTC Touch has been posted? What I'm looking for is shown in the start of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tupk8MYLhMk Does anyone have this software and will it work on the Kaiser/Tilt?
The Kaiser dialpad is attached.
The TouchFlo Cube is not yet available for the Kaiser to my knowledge. Since the phone is relatively new, just give it some time before it's posted to add on to the Kaiser.
I have the same problem with my vodafone 1615 dialer, so this may well be what im after. Any chance of a screenshot of this one?
it works ok with my Tilt, but i mean there is definitely some lag while dialing in a number (compared to the windows dialer). Not worth it for some asthetics

Hmm, I put this on my tilt, and haven't really noticed any difference in speed. FWIW, I like this much better than the stock AT&T dialer... makes much better use of the space (dropping the unnecessary function buttons allowing for larger dialpad buttons).
I am using that CAB as well and it has been great so far. I couldnt dial numbers w/ stock one coz it was too small, but one is a lot better
Just tried to load on my Tilt w/ATT rom. loaded fine and appeared fine but didn't work. Tried to uninstall and had to hard reset. Be careful.

The reTOUCHed_Dialer2 is a very nice dialpad. Works great for me.
Interestingly, however - at least on my device - the top 1/4" of the screen is black and is not used by anything. The smart dialer and the first button (the back arrow) start between 1/4 - 1/2" down on the screen.
Anyone know if this is the way it is supposed to be? Or how it could be fixed.
That black bar is where the digits appear when you start typing. That being said, it coud be made a lot smaller, allowing for five lines of smart-dialing options instead of four.
Ok, I have started noticing a problem on my phone, and I wonder if it is this dialpad that is causing it. Sometimes the dialer app freezes when I get an incoming call. The phone rings once, or maybe twice, and though the dialer has opened to allow me to answer it, it's frozen, so I can't answer it. The phone hard keys don't work either, and the call stops ringing prematurely (though the call does eventually roll over to VM). I can still put the phone to sleep, and take it back out, but the dialer app is completely frozen. To get phone functionality back, I have to soft reset. And once I do, the call that caused the freeze is NOT in the call history. I haven't had a problem dialing out, but I'd say maybe 25% of my incoming calls lock the phone. Anyone else experience anything like this?
This happned to me on my tilt yesterday. So far it has only happened once (I've had the tilt since the Friday it came out). I am still using the stock Tilt dialer though, so I don't think it is the HTC dialpad that is causing the problem. I don't know if that will make you feel better or worse...
It makes me feel better, because I really like this dialer better than the stock AT&T one. However, I'm beginning to think I've underestimated how bad of an issue this is for me... got another call just a bit ago, and it happened. My 25% figure in my previous post may be an underestimate. Not being able to reliably receive calls is a major issue. I may have to test with it some more, and start a new thread about it if it's not this dialer that's causing it.
Just tried the Kaiser dialer, same problem... phone finally rang after the call was already sent to voice mail.
Really liked the other dialer!!!

Happy w/ my Throttle

I'm posting this just to say how much I enojoy using throttle over the default HTC homeplug, if you haven't made the switch you should consider doing so now! the touchflo works great, flash can be tricky but is beautiful, and it runs just as fast (sometimes faster) as my homeplug did! I know there aren't many themes for this yet but I don't see myself getting away from this clean black. Having multiple slides available for calendar/photos/apps and more makes life easier! Here are a some shots of my default yet clean and enjoyable set up. Please post your custom throttle pics if you have them!

Tried it. Didnt like the lack of an actual today screen for my plugins. I use IM+ regularly and not being able to see a new message displayed kinda sucked. The ONLY way i was able to even see the plugin was to disable the calender function and enable the plugin in its screen. Even then, it doesnt autoupdate to show a new message. Sigh

you can manually add plugins to any page within throttle and..for the home page you just add the line for the plugin in the xml...its very simple..i did it for voip byut yah the auto update does kinda suck..i just hit the hw start button..it updates the page/plugins
it's sloooow...
and still feels like an addon...
Ahhhh.....can i just download and install it over any ROM's i'm using now? Or has it got to be cooked in with the ROM?
Edit: Found the website. Ignore my question

You can but L26's last B5 is SICK SICK SICK! I highly recommend it!
The TL is not that slow, you just need the good parameters (like using "paged" movements to naviguate through the different tabs / pages). Otherwise the other ways to naviguate are indeed slow (kinetik, wheel of fortune etc).
That's really a nice and useful plugin. Highly customizable and like it has been said, you can add Today Plugins in the TL, so you can virtually have lot's of them because you can have as many "tabs" has you want.
The TL in Laurentius26 TL B5 indeed highly rocks hehe.

I don't get it, this is faster than anything i've used before, maybe i've been using the wrong roms, but I doubt it. The only issue I have is the same with all my other roms, to use skyfire or opera!
the only way I found it to be useable using L26's beta 5 was to remove the calendar page (or add pocketbreeze and remove the default calendar) everything else worked pretty well.
How do I get this 'Throttle' thing, and is there any help or information reguarding installing and setting this up?
I've never flashed or cooked my ROM before, if it consists of that, and I would rather not. This seems really nice, and since I can not get the HHC program to cusomize my Home screen now, this may be something to try.
Any help?

Flashing is not hard, it just needs care.
Here is the main Wiki of the Kaiser.
To know how to flash a ROM, please read everything here. The first time you flash, it's taking time cause you are new to that game and you need to install first a soft called "hardSPL". Then you'll be able to flash (install) a ROM. If you flash this one (L26 v10 Beta6), you'll have the ThrottleLauncher pre-installed .
If you don't want to flash a ROM, you still have the posibility to install the ThrottleLaucher by yourself following this post.

I love calendar, mostly for the swiping to next or previous month, i've got alot of **** in my calendar and it helps to not have to 'leave' the home page to open calendar to see when i've got upcomming appointments.

As far as flashing a new rom I suggest you read the wiki on rom flashing how to's.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser#ROMx20.Upgrading
It's fool proof if you READ everything! And by using a stock rom that came with the phone you are missing out on alot of Kaiser's features that you paid good money for!

A better piece of software is called Pocket Controller Pro, Version 6 supports the Diamond better than older versions - but it all still works ok. A Freeware one you can use is also called MyMobiler and is pretty good and easy to use.
I also want an application where you can dial directly from your computer.
Pimphony (Alcatel) has a nice feature where you copy the phone number (CTRL+C) and press CTRL+right mouse button to paste it directly into a small dial window.

Unfortunately this is only for PBX but it would be nice to have something similar for WM that works over cable or bluetooth.

Hmmm... works fine on the Fuze (w/ Energyrom)
Nvm.. also
Scrolling works with WM6.5 too!!!!!
Oh wow this is legit. .
Tried it. . the earlier "release" or rip of it worked very similarly, so I'm impressed with that, but this just feels a tad nicer, because (ironically) it's from Microsoft.
Thank you for sharing this!!
i just downloaded and installed this, but cannot get it to actually connect.
it just gets stuck saying "Can't Connect to Facebook. Please check you're connected to the internet"
everything else that i'm doing requiring any type of connection is working with pretty much full 3G speeds.
any ideas?
I find this one has issues like the other "early releases" doesn't seem to want to download messages from my inbox.. Just sits there fetching =/
so i dl the "official" facebook and it wont even connect...just like microsoft to fox somethin up...
Anyone having trouble with lockup/crash after signing in, go to the device root directory and delete "Facebook.vol". Should work after that.

This is really poor. Finger-scrolling is so slow, viewing pictures is a nightmare. There's no gallery view and I can't find taggged photos anywhere. And it doesn't give you most of your notifications.
What is the point in having a dedicated app that is slower, more difficult to use and less functional than http://m.facebook.com ?

I agree. . I was initially excited, but I find myself just using the website. . it's much faster.
But google up SkyBook. . someone in here gave me the tip, but I'm too lazy to find them and say thanks - so thanks!!
SkyBook is still kinda slow, but the cool thing is I can finally upload a bunch of pics at once, in any album I want (or make a new one), and caption the pics. Also, it syncs your contacts if you want that.
