Where to find Offical UK ROM for Tytn II - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have been searching the web but I could not find a place where I can download the Official UK ROM for the Tytn II.

Is there one?
I was under the impression (although i could be wrong) that HTC didn't sell direct in the UK so the ROM would be dependant on the branding of the phone.
Look Here for links to the 4 UK operators' ROMs and the WWE BaseROM

What network are you on, and have you flashed a new rom yet?
I am on Orange, and before I started I found (what I believe to be) the original Orange rom by googling for the exact rom as it gives on your device.
To find this go to Start > Settings > System > Device Information.... ROM version, then Google for this exact string (i.e. 1.81.61.2 WWE).
I found the one I was looking for (it was within xda dev forums actually) so I could revert back for warranty purposes should I need it.
Hope this helps
Tom

TMobile MDAIII in UK...ROM

Does anyone have an MDAIII from TMobile released in the UK? I have a German MDAIII using an PDA2K ROM now and would love to put the TMobile UK English version ROM on it....
I have the UK T-Mobile ROM, but haven't worked out how to back it up yet.
Thanks for the reply....I'm not quite sure how you would back out an existing ROM. Does T-Mobile UK have a support website for downloading ROM upgrades and such?
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/DumpRom
I sent an email to the developer to see if he could update the tool for the 128 bit header that the MDAIII has instead of the 64 bit header that of the XDAII and I.
You could try it as is though.
Anyone else have any luck dumping the full ROM from a UK T-Mobile MDAIII?
I'd like to get this crappy Imate ROM off my German MDAIII and load he latest T-Mobile UK WWE ROM...
Any and all help is appreciated!!
Same here. Someone must have one :|
I have a UK T-Mobile MDA III. If someone posts me a link to the required Rom dump tools and a quick walk thru or command line then i'll upload it.
Anything to speed up development on it as i really need it unlocked
Does anyone know if it would be possible to drop the T-Mo MDA III ROM into an XDA IIs?
I love the black case so much in comparison to the PDA2k and MDA III that I'd be willing to buy one and try it out. Of couse, there's also the issue of unlocking it if not already unlocked...
Any information would be appreciated. Thanks!
Did you figure it out "gonesuper"?
Does anyone know if T-Mobile UK has a ftp site to download ROM updates like Qtek and Imate?
Nothing? If T-Mobile UK is selling the MDAIII through their business channels, where is the support URL to download software for it?
Hi,
I've found a site which describes how to backup the ROM to a SD card on an XDA IIs so presumably it would work for the MDA III? here's the link:
http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=151&PN=1
If anyone is successful I would dearly love to get a copy as I'd like to swap my MDA but not let them know that I've been screwing with incorrect firmwares!
Cheers, JDH
Now that the MDAIII is listed on T-mobile UKs website, does anyone know the web address for ROM downloads on T-mobile UKs websites?
Dagger ga, I am currently complaining to T-Mobile UK about this very issue and there is another guy in the same boat. The MDA III still have the bluetooth and mic issues and although T-Mobile Germany has seen fit to post an patch/upgrade (including blackberry) the support in the UK is non existent.
I would urge you to add your voice to mine and contact T-Mobile UK customer services/technical support. Hopefully at this rate they have got to start to listen to all of us. The non existent support is scandalous for such a high end device.
Incidentally I have written another post as expansys.com on this to the other person who has these issues. See the forum: imate/PDA2K if you are interested.

Hello,
The best thing to do is install another ROM eg, i-mate ROM, and then install all the T-Mobile Extended ROM files from backup...
To backup the extended ROM...
1) Download this file to your device and run it! - ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/Extended_ROM_Kitchen_1_22/Tools/xda-developers _Unlocker.CAB
(this will installed the extended rom tools to your device.)
2) Under "Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "unlock" then click ok, next click "unhide" then ok! After this reset your device.
3) With the device ActivSync'd to your PC, browse to your device from you PC and you'll now see a folder called "Extended ROM" in the main "Device" window. In here are all your extended rom files. Copy ALL the files in this folder to your computer - DO NOT DELETE OR MODIFY ANY FILES IN THIS FOLDER (unless you know what you're doing)!!!
4) Go back into "Start\Programs\Extrom Tools\" on your device click, "lock" then click ok, next click "hide" then ok! After this reset your device.
5) ALL DONE - you should now have a copy of your extended ROM files.
Hope this helps...

Thank you for the advice you have offered. Unfortunately I am a complete novice and don't even know how to get hold of the latest Imate ROM.
If you have the time could you PM me with some further details on how to download the new ROM.

XDA IIs O2 Asia ROM

Ok, I have played with a few ROMS including first having loaded the UK version of the O2 ROM update and everthing seemed fine until I tried to use GPRS connection to my AT&T wireless connection which prior to the upgrade worked great. I have now upgraded to the 1.40 ROM update to see if the problem still exists which it does. I used to be able to use *99#G as a dial string and it would connect up without any problem.
Now for my biggest problem, I took the plunge without first dumping my original ROM to a file. Now I can not find one anywhere. Every link seems to suggest I should find it on the myxda.com site but I am not seeing it there, in fact the only file I see there is a Bluetooth patch.
Does ANYONE have the original O2 Asia XDA IIs ROM files? If so please reply to me and let me know where I can find them for download. My original DeviceData show the following:
PH20B 0 B WWE E O2ASI001 1.12.62 6 2 1.12.925 1.02.00 02.00
Thanks!
I guess the below file will do
ftp://xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_Roms/O2_IIs_Asia_Ext_Rom_112925_WWE.zip
If not then there is a new one.
ftp://xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Extended_Roms/O2_IIs_Asia-Ext_Rom_131920_WWE.rar
The username and password for it is xda.
I hope this solvesyour problem.

Charmer goes wiki

Charmer goes wiki
A wiki page has been opened for the Charmer
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Charmer
Please look here before asking questions on the forum.
All users can edit this page so you can all add information thus making it a better source of information.
It has the structure of the Blueangel wiki so you can use that as template.
Latest AKU T-Mobile UK
I am clueless in ROMs and stuff; However I have an MDAcII, wanted to check if it was up to date ROM wise (its got the 2nd version of T-Mobiles ROM on it) and I noticed today that on T-Mobile UK website they offer this for updating ROM:
RUU_Charmer_38221_382116_026921_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.exe
(this is on :
http://www.tm-phonedownloads.com/dm_compact2_sw.html)
This doesnt line up with the Wiki entry for Charmer's latest official ROM which is shown as being:
June 2006 - WWE AKU2 - T-mobile UK. RUU_Charmer_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship and which is thwe one on my MDA at present
Can anyone who knows tell me if this latest official ROM update is equivalent of AKU3? I googled for the new file name as shown above and nothing came up...
Thanks in advance...

Thanks Finally
I have just used Lockwiz3 (after trying all the others ha haha)
And now my T-mobile (UK) MDA Compact II is able to use a vodaphone SIM
THANKS TO All WHO MADE THIS POSSIBLE

Official HTC ROM

I want to install the latest official HTC ROM on my trinity, but the download is no longer available for me on the HTC e-club site.
I'm keen to keep to an official ROM and, even though I know that 6.x is cool - I want to stick to what's official and legal.
Does anyone know where I can download the latest official rom?
no-one got any idea?
Here's my HTC WM5 version, as far as i can recall it is the genuine HTC one with GPS enabled.
ADrive
Just to confirm that HTC released a very leagal and offical Windows Mobile 6.0 ROM & it is still available for download from the HTC web site.
Look for "D810 / HTC P3600i WM6 GPS Enabled ROM code" for your area/network, relelased october 2007 (version 3.00.707.XX where xx = localised release per phone network).
I've just logged into the Australia HTC web site & can see these roms & the links do work.
Unfortunately without the serial number of an AU issued Trinity i can't get to the downloads. My UK issued one "doesn't exist". And to make it even more annoying the new ROMs are not on the european site.

Can not get update from HTC support? anyone have this prob?

Hi guys. Just upgraded from an original Touch to a Diamond. Before I start setting it up, I went to HTC's site to get the latest updates.
I love cusotmizing my device with themes, pic etc, but I am not into flashing cooked roms (yet).
HTC has 2 rom upgrades on their site. One from like July last year and one from Jan of this year.
When I enter my S/N it says my device does not support this rom???
I have a Diamond P3700
The current rom is Rom Base 1.93.422.4 Dated July 18th 2008
Radio 1.09.25.23
Am, I missing something? Was the January 09 update not for some Diamonds?
I know when you flash its like a hard reset, so I want to have the latest official rom on my device before I start putting in all my info.
Anyone have this issue???
thanks!
Mike,
if you got your device from a mobile operator or have a "branded" phone (T-Mobile, Vodafone, Verizon, Orange, whatever), you'll probably have no access to updates from the HTC website. Operators make some changes to the ROM (themes, settings, applications) so they reserve the right to select which updates they make available to their customers. (Booooo.)
In that case, the only thing you can do is ask your operator (visit their website) if there are any updates available.
You'll have unrestricted access to HTC's updates only if you have a "free" device.
N.
FYI : Bell is currently working on a ROM version with HTC guys. It should be out somewhere during this year. (I hope so, because the ROM Bell gives is really retarded)
I have a unbranded unlocked phone and have the same problem. Support replied that the 2.03 ROM is not yet available for Eastern Europe phones (my case by the looks of it). No info on release date for us though.
There is a new Touch Diamond ROM posting in HTC website here:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=483&news_id=68
You may input your serial number to see whether this new ROM suitable for your device or not.
Same here
I've tried to download the new ROM but get a out of service message. Someone must have this ROM and can give access to it?
Thanks
upgrading ROM
my experience with upgarding via HTC website.
i have a HTC Artemis + HTC Touch Diamond, both came with English WM OS.
Bought both in mainland China though they both imported, Artemis via Taiwan, and Touch Diamond via HK.
when i tried to obtain latest ROM via HTC HK website last week of Feb 2009, basically i could only download the RUU 2.03 CHT_CHS ROM. i was not allowed to download the English language version of the ROM. Here's HTC explanation.
The two phones were shipped via the original HTC agents in both countries with HTC CHT (Traditional Chinese) ROM's. Even though i bought both phones in mainland China with English ROM's. (Obviously the store or a supplier on the mainland had flashed the English HK ROM's).
Basically HTC's view is that flashing the ROM's with any other ROM outside what it shipped with OEM voids the warranty (if one is not careful, one can also brick the phone too!) LOL
Interestingly this means that my new phones were void of warranty initially anyway the day i bought them, since i bought them from the dealer with English version ROM (official HK English ROM), though both phones were meant to be CHT ROM's. If i sent either phone back to their respective HTC service depts. artemis to Taiwan or Touch Diamond to HK, i would have been out of luck claiming warranty!
(anyway i got my hands on the official HK/Taiwan English ROM's and flashed my phones myself... HTC have been a fat lot of use over any technical support issues i have contacted them about in the past).
Note that not all ROM's are the same, service providers and manufacturers can decide what is and what isn't included in their respective ROM, which consequently locks the phone to that ROM and any future updates. Even though one may think they are buying an unlocked phone, with no restrictions etc. how certain can you be of how it was shipped ex-factory, or the route that the phone took before arriving in store?
OP, it sounds to me as though you have a phone that had been altered somehow before you bought it, and is not supported for the upgrade ROM you want. The same situation that applies in my case.
One way to check is try downloading all the different ROM's there are on all the different HTC region/country websites using your serial number... sooner or later you will find the right ROM even you may not want it, but at least you will know the status of how your phone was setup ex factory... because if the ROM was changed somewhere between ex-factory and the store without HTC's okay then your phone is void of warranty (unless you flash it back to OEM).
sinned69 is right, you can't just go to any HTC site and download a ROM, your serial number matches a certain region and you must go to that HTC region site, from there you will be able to download the ROM. Where (which country) did you buy the phone, or do you know where it came from? If you know this information, then just go to that HTC region site.

By the end of January, I called HTC hotline. They said they'll upload East EU version next week. It's March and I can't download anything. How do you think, isn't it time to remind HTC has to release a East EU rom?
No luck-
I tried downloading the newest HTC update from Feb 09-- still says your device is not supported.
I downloaded the file using a provided serial in another thread for the WWE version.
Can I use this file to flash my rom????
My diamond is an UNBRANDED and UNLOCKED version.
It's a 1.93.422.4 WWE currently...
Any idea if this will work ok for me?????
HTC Diamond in South Africa
Although I am a member of the HTC europe club, I do not have access to the 2.03 Jan release ROM at this stage.
The reason for this is that the SA agents have still not had the ROM approved by our Network Operators, so the HTC Club site continues to post the old Rom.
Once the approval is given, HTC will post the new ROM for us to upgrade.
HTC uses the serial numbers to control who gets what ROM upgrades.
Our phones are HTC branded and not network locked. It is illegal for networks to lock phones in SA.
