Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but is there a specific prob between the Kaiser / MS mobile software and MS Active Sync that makes the latter loose the device name shortly after connecting over USB?
I'm also having probs with XNTD Connect falling over i.e. saying it does not have a device connected when MS Active Sync says there is but I'm thinking the prob is with Active Sync not XNTD connect
Any thoughts panel?

I jut encountered another Problem (which is severe in my opinion):
I connot connect to my Notebook over the active Sync Bluetooth Option.
It shows the Notebook, when searchning for it, bit Active Sync 4.0 doesn't seem to give the right service...
I am having this activesync problem also.
I can sync using the cradle. I tried setting up the connect via BT, but the BA is giving me a message : "Cannot find an existing Bluetooth partnership with a PC that supports Activesync. Would you like to set it up now?"
And i believe that i did set it up already.
my phone settings are:
under BT devices on my phone my computer is listed. under com ports i have Incoming com port 8.
my PC settings are
Devices : My phone
Options: all checked
COM ports: COM8 incoming
in MSActive sync 4.0:
connection settings: All checked ..."Allow connections to one of the following: COM8"
still cannot figure out what is wrong.
I am currently using WM5 and Activesync 4
When i was using WM03SE and Activesync 3.8 it was working fine.
same problem here
No way to create a synch connection via bluetooth.
It might be another MS bluetooth bug !
is this really not possible? I think this is a huge problem. Might rollback to 2003 until there is a fix.
ActiveSync w/BT okay here...
I can sync via BT without a problem.... it was a little strange on how the AS connection was created.
Anyway, I made sure my laptop was paired with the SX66. Started ActiveSync on the SX66, an clicked on ActiveSync via Bluetooth in the Menu. A screen popped up saying there were no valid BT connections and took me to the BT manager. I chose my laptop and an "Activesync Connection" was created... On the PC, I made sure to allow the proper COM port in AS (in my case, AS always used Com5 when using WM2003).
I didn't create and Incoming/Outgoing connection prior to the PDA prompting me, also deleted any existing partnerships on PDA and PC.
Sorry for the vagueness, this was one of the first things I tried after upgrading to WM5... I can try to answer any other questions. Good luck!
Just got it to work.
collowed chen's directions sort of.
I deleted existing partnerships on MS Activesync on PC and SX66.
I deleted existing pairing on Bluetooth devices under PC BT icon.
I enabled a comport under Bluetooth Devices/ COMPORTS for incoming.
I re-added the sx66 under bluetooth devices, set pass key, this time on my sx66 it listed "activesync" as one of the services offered.
Acknowledged everything on the SX66.
Then opened Active sync (at this point i still did not add the sx66 to activesync on my PC) on SX66.
Chose connect VIA BT under menu, and woila it asked if i wanted to create a partnership.
Now i am syncing via BT....i guess the difference between WM5 and wm03 is that with 03 i think i had to set it up via the cradle before BT.
does not work
i have tried all steps but it does not work
It depends on the PC's bluetooth stack. Anything else than Widcomm is problematic.

ive got a wifi enabled laptop with Vista Home Premium, ive got the latest version of active sync and my Kaiser (t-Mobile) connects and syncs fine, but i would like to do it over wifi, but i cant see how to as the sync software on my Kaiser only has USB and Bluetooth as options to sync over, is it possible?
i have looked bot cant find the answer
any help would be appreciated
This isn't an Kaiser upgrading question and neither was your previous thread about bluetooth pairing. Watch this before creating your third thread within the next 10 minutes.
WMDC does not allow for wifi syncing. plain and simple. end of story.
it has been that way since (desktop) activesync 4 (IIRC)
you will either have to use a USB cable or bluetooth.
ok im sorry for posting in the wrong section, do you want me to re do my other thread in another kaiser section?
and im surprised that i WMDC won't allow wifi syncing but if it won't work then it won't work.
cheers
I have quite a strange problem.
I'am using push mail on my Diamond. Everytime I have had my Diamond connected by cable to my work computer for charging it I have problems using push mail afterwards. The Daimond shows an error that it could not connect to the Exchange server which could be caused by network troubles, code 0x80072EE2.
I am also using Activesync on my work computer (Win XP) which means that my Diamond is also synched when connected by cable.
Are anyone having this problem? Only way to get my Diamond using push mail after it have been connected by cable is to restart it, then push mail is working just fine again. Should that really be necessary?
We are using Exchange 2007 at my work.
Please help me out here??
Chcek you connection setting, there are 2 connection, one should be to your ISP (your cell phone provider) the other one should be "My work network" , if you have other setting, by connect your cable at work, the lame Activesync add proxy setting to the exist connection and can **** your connection
if it's not "My work network" ...
Hello,
i bought a new o2 XDA Diamond a few days ago and right after charging the battery i downloaded an actual original ROM from o2-Website an flashed the device.
My first Problem is, that PIM-changes on my XDA are not recognized directly by ActiveSync on my Computer exept „Memos“. When i add a new Appointment or a new Contact on my XDA, nothing happens on ActiveSync. But when i add a new Memo on my XDA, ActiveSync starts working directly an synchronizes all: Appointments, Contacts and Memos. Changes on the Computer, whatever, are transmitted directly! Starting Sync manually both on my XDA and on ActiveSync works fine! In the Active Sync Options Menü there is a Settings-Command. In the Settings-Window there is only my PC listet. As far as i can remember there should be my mobile device too, right?
When i re-setup the partnership without any checkmarks and check the checkmarks on „Memos“ after the first sync, ActiveSync asks me what to do: Combining Elements, Replace on Computer or Replace on Mobile Device. This Dialog appears NOT when i check the checkmarks of Contacts and Appointments!
I tried unsuccessfully several hard resets...tried different USB-Jacks, Self-Powered USB-Hub, disabling Windows Firewall, deinstalling Antivirus(Avast)…On my Laptop(XP) with a fresh Outlook-Database: the same behavior. 3 full days of frustrating attemps so far!
My second problem ist a serial port issue with Bluetooth. I have another phone that is connecting fine via Bluetooth, 2 serial ports(1 incoming/1 outgoing) are installed automatically when pairing the device the first time and i can sync with outlook without problems via bluetooth. The XDA is only installing a „Bluetooth Peripheral Device“ and a „Standardmodem über Bluetooth Verbindung“ when pairing the first time. So i have no virtual serial ports available and the XDA does not list any Bluetooth profiles when i try to fetch the available profiles from the paired device. I cannot connect to ActiveSync via Bluetooth(XDA says that it cannot found an existing Bluetooth-Partnership with an ActiveSync-supporting Computer and asks me for setting up a partnership, but there IS a partnership between XDA and Computer!) and tried 2 different Bluetooth-Sticks so far , but both work with MS Bluetooth-Stack. The newer one is a Logilink BT007 which works fine with my old mobile phone.
Thanks in advance,
