I've had my Kaiser/TyTN II since October and am very happy with it. However, I've discovered that I NEVER use the keyboard, having thumb access with Finger-Friendly Friends and VITO WM Keyboard. Is there another unit that has all the great features of the TyTN II (including GPS and similar memory), but without the keyboard?
Touch Cruise.
probably the closest would be the Touch Cruise (Polaris).

Hi rebecker
Look the E-TEN X800 (great device: more VGA and FM radio reciever) or the new and upcoming HTC device like HTC P6500 (HTC Sirius) or the HTC Touch Cruise P3650 or this new LG KS20 (beatifull device: more FM radio reciever, but less GPS).
Anyway give a look yourselves in that site!
Ciao

Hi,
I have replaced my HTC TyTN with a HTC TyTN II - The HTC TyTN II seems to have another soft keyboard. I much more prefer the one that the old TyTN had.
I've attached two pictures, the keyboard my HTC TyTN II currently shows is key_tytn2.gif, the one I prefer and the one the TyTN had is key_ok.gif.
Does anybody know how I can change this Layout?
Click on Settings, Input, then change keyboard to use "Small Keys".
@greeek: Thank you, you saved my day!
Hello everyone,
I wanted advice before I get a O2 XDA Diamond. I've been quite happy with my Hermes the past 2 years, only missing GPS feature and I always wish it was thinner! From the size the HTC Raphael isn't much better I have the feeling, so I've been looking into the Diamond again.
Now, the hardware keyboard in many situations is one of the best features on my Hermes, the occasional chat, or the longer email..before I switch to the Diamond I wanted to know how good the software keyboard is.
I've been playing around with the SIP PCM-Keyboard on my Hermes and if that works on the Diamond, or the standard SIP keyboard on the Diamond is similar, then I'd make the switch.
So, how good is it? Things like adding contact addresses, phone numbers, writing the occasional chat and the longer email, the daily text messages..
thx for any advice and experience, pplz who had a Kaiser or Hermes
Got the same situation here! Switched already from a Hermes (Tytn 1) to a Diamond. In the beginning I really had to get used and sometimes wished I never switched phones simply cause im a sms addict and thus loved the hardware keyboard lol. However, nowadays I'm getting really fast in hitting the letters on the touch screen with the stylus. Not as fast as with the hardware keyboard, that's impossible... but I'm managing it lol. Also, if you type a sms or an e-mail and rotate the screen, like the Tytn did automatically when sliding out the keyboard... but you have to use 3rd party programs on the Diamond to manage that.. then I'm even able to type on the screen with my fingers. But, I don't have fingers as big like a Wiener! ;-)
Give "Touchpal" a try I find it better than the diamond default sip, unfortunately it is a commercial app. Once you get used to it it is very fast and finger friendly. PCM Keyboard was always my favourite until I got my fingers on this. It has a few idiosyncrasies but after a very short time I was as fast if not faster than I am on my laptop, but I'm really crap at typing!
Aside from all that I've just upgraded from my beloved Artemis (RIP in the hands now of my 9 year old son) and the Diamond rocks, WOW.

Does Touchpal have predictive sentences? Just upgraded from A Vario 3 to the lovely Diamond. Used to love the predictive sentences on the Vario. Doesn't seem to be as good on the Diamond. Same for contacts. Used to whittle down the options letter by letter but have to wait until the end of the first word now.
Hi,
I really liked the cruise touchFlow application. Especially the unique phone. Is there a way to have with the Diamond?
10x.

wrong...TF is not a stock future for Kaiser, because 1)The tytn2 is not a native WM 6.5 device 2)The drivers are for old platforms. The Tf2D is found on custom ROM's builded by users...and TF3D is even has more bugs then the 2D version.
Because the kaiser is an old device (we can say that)...the drivers are not at the same level with the newer phones out there and in this instance you're TF3D won't work properly or not at all.So stick with 2D Manilla,my advice
Does Anyone try to install the home screen of Touch HD to TyTN II? I just purchased the TyTN II when I check out my colleagues HTC Touch HD he got different Home Screen running. I was wondering if that could be run in TyTN II?
Anyone got any idea please response.
Just do a search for M2D,
However whilst the HD has its Today screen appeal, it does have its limitations.
Perhaps have a look at SPB Shell 3 as an alternative to M2D.

The Touch HD is Touch Flo 3D, and it will only work in limited capacity.
Follow the link in my signature to get M2D, which is the same thing as TF3D but without the limited 3d.
You can use the TF3D today plugin for TyTN II if you find it (I don't know), or use Manilla2D or ThrottleLauncher
Do a search for them here and in the global Google, and you'll find lots of ways to customize and improve your today screen, better than the Touch HD standard one.
(Please, install or uninstall those plugins when you'll have read instructions and advices about how to work safely with your device)
