Is it possible to watch youtube videos on my tilt? i go to youtube.com and click on a vid and it says file type invalid and it's showing real player as the program to play the video, i downloaded TCPMP, went through all the instructions to get it set up correctly, but still the same thing, is real player the default program? if so how do i change that? so windows media or TCPMP is the correct one? thanks
Either get vTap (google it) or HTC Streaming Media. It has been posted here before very recently.

Couldn't i just make TCPMP or windows media player the default player? would that work? if so were do i make either one the default player, i couldn't find it in either program.
The HTC Streaming Media proggy will fix your problem. vTap is a self-contained app that pulls videos off google and youtube. Take yer pick.
just go to www.ytpocket.com it works the best out of all the you tube solutions ive tried
you just need tcpmp and flash bundle. Search on this forum. I've installed them and working youtube and all other flash base website playing fine on my tilt. Just browse through youtube, click on the video, tcpmp just opened by itself and play the video.
Thanks for the help, i've give these ideas a shot.
Tap http://m.youtube.com/ in your mobile browser. Vids will automatically launch in Streaming Media.
Anyone have a link to HTC Streaming Media download? i did a search but didn't see it.

may be this link might help
ok, i've tried eveything mentioned here and some things mentioned on other threads and i still cant get youtube to work, the only thing i haven't tried is vtap and the only reason why is because when i go to install it on my TILT, i get an error that says " the file Vtap_pcc" can not be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets can not be found.
I deleted it from my tilt and tried it again, i made sure it was from the tilt selection on the vtap site, but still same error, Anyone able to help me with this, i've been working on this issue going on 3 days now.
also the error i'm getting when i go to youtube and click on a video link is "failed to conect to network" it opens up the streaming media player, and after about 5-10 seconds i get that error and it closes out.
did you find the HTC streaming media cab? That's what fixed it for me. vtap also works quite good.
I don't know if you tried the link I put above. Also look at this one: LINK
i used ytpocket on my wizard and now my kaiser. you can stream or download. works perfectly
I have HTC Streaming Media pre-installed on my Vario. I have since installed RealPlayer.
Now when I click on a YouTube video in IE nothing happens.
If I do it in Opera it tries to load the video in RealPlayer and fails with "Request failed".
How can I make the videos load in the HTC Player instead?
Ok I've got a tilt, so I've got the HTC Media player installed and I can now access m.youtube.com with no problems. However I would like to have access to the classic youtube.com however when I click a video it takes me to an error page saying to install flash player etc etc
What's the deal? Did I miss something? I thought the HTC player would handle standard youtube as well
Im on my XDA Stellar and I am connected to the internet via my wireless BT Home Hub router, I'm using IE on my phone and when I visit youtube.com and try to watch a video, it just comes up the Streaming Media and just says "Connecting..." for ages, nothing else comes up. Whats wrong?
install tcpmp and find that flashvideobundle cab around here and reset.use pie to search and start video playback
also give coreplayer a try, it is really easy to use

Yeah man i never got Youtube to work. I installed TCPMP and flash video, soft reset and nothing. I just use VTap. I can search for videos on youtube and watch them.
Look for VTap
All I do is win
I had the same thing. The streaming media player can't really be trusted for youtube it seems. I found a neat little program on the forum which plays youtube video's very well. It's called "Youtubeplay" and can be found here: LINK. I can now watch youtube in the train
I've tried to stream audio and Youtube but when I click the player starts up and I get the error message "network not available". This is with 2 different players. When I attempt to stream audio coreplayer starts up and for YouTube the HTC Stream player starts up. Any ideas as to why to why I'm getting this error message?
Well I've gotten YouTube to stream but still getting the same error message when attempting to stream radio/audio.
Anyone? Anyone?

How did you get youtube to start streaming??
I installed HTC Streaming Media cab file then went to (m.youtube.com) and picked out a video clip and it started working.
Hi,
I want to replace HTC streamingmedia with realplayer for showing mobile youtube stream video. I installed realplayer, and it popup after I click the video in IE, then error message "file type not support" showed. Anything I need to install or set?
Thanks.
Have a problem trying to cast live YouTube streams. Now I can cast the whole tab and maximize on a PC fine but if I press the cast button on the vid itself or try to cast from iPad or phone it gives me problems. Anyone getting the same thing?
Seconded... "There was an error playing this video."
Edit:
I was going to try and provide feedback to them about this and came across this in the help pages...
YouTube on Chromecast does not currently support optimized playback of private videos, YouTube Live streaming videos, or videos from Paid Channels. A simple workaround to this is to use the Google Cast Extension in a Chrome browser rather than the Cast button in the youtube.com player or YouTube app. You may get a warning message that says “Cast-enabled page; use controls in the page for an optimal experience. Learn more," just ignore it in this case. Learn more about the difference between optimized playback and Casting a tab.

Ya, thats what I ended up doing. Hopefully they sort it out. Would be nice to be able to cast and do other stuff on the PC without the video maximized. Or do it through a mobile device.
