it not a hack and do you even know what vga is (i change a few on wikipedia so try there first lol) yea vga program work but i can't get ozvga

It's a way to get a 640x480 "resolution" in a 320 × 240 display. It won't look pretty, because it will be squizing it all on 320x240 pixels, but it would give you more screen space.

vaginal ghonorrhea abrasion?
I've been building and fixing computers since the time VGA was considered the standard desktop resolution so I'll let you try and figure out the answer to your own question.
I found out what it was and I don't see how it would work on the Wing seeing as how the screen is only 320x240, but since you guys were talking about it in here, I gave it a try. No change in resolution whatsoever and I tried two different programs, including one made especially for WM6.

I finally got it to work but as mentioned by ivan before it is not a nice screen to be looking at due to the small size of the text and symbols. nyditot seems to have done the trick...only problem is that it only wants to work 50% of the time, but it'll do 'till i can get ozVGA(or another app) to work properly. but when it comes down to it I think that this is too much hassle just to get win98 running on the herald.

FPSEce configuration/pocket iso

hopefully this tutorial will help fpsece be more fun/playable for everyone.
UPDATE: FPSEce configuration-imo this is one of the best set ups for the wing, but see what you come up with. a little tricky but here goes.
1ST to do this i utilize htc home and battery status plugins. i have been playing this emu overclocked to 299 mhz for periods of up to 2hrs. i do not condone this behavior! and don't even suggest it! but, you get the best gameplay out of the emu.
2ND, make sure all running apps are closed except fpsece, with your device in regular portrait mode with htc home on your today screen, open the keyboard on your wing, go to your programs tab on htc home and press the portrait to landscape flip button. if you you do not have that one activated take a sec and swap it out with one of the other buttons it should be worth it. after this your screen will look funny cause your keyboard is out and your screen has flipped back to portrait orientation.perfect!
3RD, navigate to fpsece and open. go to options/misc/display/landscape left.
4Th, go back into options and choose the joypad/assign buttons. now turn the device so you are looking at the keyboard normally. these are my keymaps but feel free to do your own! PAGE UP-TRIANGLE PAGE DOWN-X ARROW LEFT-SQUQRE ARROW RIGHT-CIRCLE A-LEFT S-UP D-RIGHT Z-DOWN Q-L1 W-L2 O-R1 P-R2 START-SPACEBAR SELECT-TAB MENU- CENTER OF DIRECTIONAL PAD on the screen portion of the wing. finally hit ok!
5TH hit the start tab, then iso and finally navigate to your game WHICH SHOULD BE IN ISOS FOLDER ON YOUR STORAGE CARD. this way you can keep many games on your storage card!
pocket iso guide- http://pdai.org/michu/fpsece/ldrguide.html
this will get your game file sizes way down and your memory card less cramped as well as more games will be compatible with fpsece.

my settings are on usa...recompiler...arm v5...GDI...fast boot...but these may or may not be the best. i am still learning the ideal options myself. i think vga is supposed to be the best/fastest but it depends on the type of device. also i know on some games, gran turismo for example, that adjusting the frame skip number does help speed the game. example: if you are getting5 fps set to 1 on options this will bump it up closer to ten. if you have 12 fps bump up to 2 this may get you closer to 20 fps and so on.

Setup your controller settings. Bind a key to "menu." Then press that key during gameplay, tap options, then adjust the frames from there.
Ok, i have a HTC Heremes, but i thought i'd just ask here, instead of opening a new thread in Hermes section. I get stuck at FPSece screen, no matter how i set up the options, nothing happens. I loaded ps1 bios. And i'm trying to find a tutorial or guide, but can't find any, all of them are mostly about ripping. Any ideas?
try reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369855&page=8 . also try the link in my sig!
Yea i got a question or 2.
All the ps1 ios' are like 25mb +
How am i susposed to put them on the phone since the phone dont have that much memory, and i cant reach my memorycard through activsync,
also i have dialup *errgg* and downloading iso' that big is a little impossible for my internet connection, is there a site to find iso's 25mb and smaller?
OK, I downloaded the software to play the games but I don't know where to get the games from. People have said they would be around 25mb, but I can only find ones for 350mb+. Please help. I have a Touch Pro 2
Wow, way to raise a thread from the bottom of the sea there...and about a completely different device too boot. Anyways, the games are not going to be 25MB, if they are then they are either demos or homebrew stuff. Most PSX ISOs are AT LEAST 350MB, but can go as large as a CD, IE 680MB or so. You can try to compress these down using that tool in the first post, albeit you will have to search around for it since the original creators website is not around anymore.
Ok, I've spent forever and a day looking this stuff up....so I have everything I need. Now if someone could walk we through getting my isos's to show up in the isos file that would be great! Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
Did you actually download the ISO's? And if you did, you make an ISO folder on your storage card and then transfer the ISO to it.
forgive me if this post is in the wrong section - i'm new to this forum
i've got a problem with my htc p4350 (herald) when using fpsece
i can start fpsece, but when i try to load a .iso file, the screen turns black for about 10 seconds, and after that it just returns to the home screen
i cannot reach any options screen or etc.
i got the right bios copied and trued 3 different files to load
maybe these are just the wrong files?
(in that case, which files should i try, and where can i get these?)
thanx in advance

Error when adding favourite contact

Hi
I have transfered my contacts with missing sync to my phone no problem. I can however not add a favourite contact and get an error about manila.exe.
Can anybody please help?
Regards
Mike
I have the exact same problem and I think I figured it out. The problem is either a) the actual size (kb/mb) of the contact´s picture or b) the resolution of the picture. As of yet I didn´t have the time to test it more precisely, but I´m happy for every tip you guys can give me =)

You're right, Designator.
As lupinaro, I use a Macbook to sync my Diamond with iCal and Address Book as well. Unfortunally (for device, I guess) I have all of my contacts with photos, and just few have tiny photos. Normally I use 640x480 pics or high. With this res, Diamond can't handle with and the Touch3DFlo simply restarts when trying to put some individuals at Favorites tabs.
I didn't find any way to work with it, so I leave this tab away and don't use it at all.
If someone find something about it, just leave a message.
Okay, I filed a support message at the htc website. Let´s wait and see what they gotta say =)

Sorry but I don't think so. I change the resolution of my pictures to 192 x 256 and the size is less than 20 kb.
The problem is still happenning.
The solution is to change the resolution to 120 x 120. It works.

pocket internet explorer 6 beta issues

Well seeing how some of the chefs have started including pie 6 into there roms i thought maybe we can see about getting any problems discovered fixed or remedied...
The problem i have discovered is that pie 6 is not resizing the pages like the way it used to for my tilts screen, for example its set for a vga res when the 8925 is qvga, and i think that this is related to it, that when i try to stream any video using say, orb, that the video resolution is way to big for my screen.
Now i think that it reads the resolution from pie 6, which is detecting a resolution way too big which explains why it is not resizing for mobile properly in pocket internet explorer 6 and the larger then normal resolution in streaming video.
If theres a way to fix the detected/displayed resolution in pie 6 that would be great.
or heres an idea.. maybe someone could provide a cab that could revert pie 6 back to 5 if thats possible.
Thanks for anyones time on this.
wow almost 200 views and not 1 reply? i would've thought someone might have an idea... or at least an opinion

sorry i cant answer your question. but just wanted to ask where u got ie6 mobile from? could u load it somewhere for others to download if possible
Cheers
I'm guessing it was cooked into his ROM, judging from his first sentence.
My experience with PIE 6 is that it is so buggy as to be cause to reflash whatever it might be included in.
thought id be helpfull here and inform anyone who's interested that i have solved the issue with pie6 mobile and page resizing/ detected display resolution.
turns out the chefs have been importing the registry for pie6 without reviewing it first.
if you check at:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Viewport Height
and
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Viewport Width
these keys set the displayed resolution of web pages on pie6, they were set to 1024x768, obviously too big.
by correcting these set of keys to 320x240 you will find that pie6 now resizes all pages correctly. (for landscape at least)
excellent fix pyrorob it was driving me crazy
It's been awhile since I've used it but have a problem with PDA Ultimate V9(I think?) where IE6 is cooked in and freezes as soon as the page reaches 51kb loaded... not that big of a deal, I pefer opera mini for normal browsing and skyfire when I need it. Could always update the rom been awhile and see if theres been improvements but I love my phone the way it is.
wondering
Any one know what the settings to get pie to actually go to mobile view?
pie 6
is there ne way that i can go back to previous version pf pie w/o upgrading the rom,
thanks

Windows 7 and 1024x600 works!

Simply follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=513638
after this:
Download this driver:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/con...D=&DwnldId=18231&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=ita
Direct installation didn't works for me; i simply updated drivers into device manager (pointing to folder where i unzip drivers)
After system restart uncheck 3-4 prompts and voilà, if you switch resolutions from intel taskbar icon with aero enable it works (if i switch resolution with dedicated Shift's button, when i come back to 800x480 aero auto-disable (no BSOD HOWEVER )
This is indeed working and a great find for one of the last problem between w7 and the shift.
Thanks for the head up
YES !! Thank you !
Confirmed to work with a 7700 ultimate build English version.
You can switch from 800 to 1024 with the SHift screen res. change button,
it will keep the aero on !!
But.. if you want to switch back you must do it via the intel screenmanager
software. But hey, nice progress !!!!

working fine with latest driver from intel site. btw mine is build 7600
Now..... I can switch with the hardware button from 800 to 1024 and aero
is always ON. Don't know what I did, I just followed the instructions !!
So, it is now at 100% working ! Anyone else with this much luck ?

Same here, i don't know why, i think due to a windows update
And another annoyance bites the dust. Set the DPI settings to 125% in Win7
and you are looking at aero 1024x600 whilst still be able to read the screen
Nice. Very nice.
I tried but i think that 1024x600 with 125% zoom is similar to 800x480 with no zoom, am i wrong?
Just a word of warning. I'm running build 7600 & camera driver from windows 7 updates may cause bsod. make sure system restore in enabled before updating any driver. I'm not sure if its only me.
Thank you for warning.
Now win7 is perfect, all works. The only feature i'd like 2 have is to rotate in portrait mode on "Seven" side
Marvell Wifi update from Microsoft also cause a lot of problem. Go back to Vista driver from HTC.

16 bit colors
Hello,
I have installed lastest INTEL VGA drivers and all works fine.
CHANGE BUTTON works too.
But it switches 800x480 to 1024x600 and back only in 32 bit color depth.
I want 16 bit colors only.
But it overwites my settings everytime.
Is possible to set 16 bit hard ?

Mine is not working (7100 built). Although the driver chose the Display to be "Digital Flat Panel 1024x768 60Hz", the max resolution I can choose is only 800x480.
May I know your Display type??
Any one has tried this procedure in a final Win7 Pro version?
I learned to live without aero mode and wouldn't like to trash my current configuration that works fine if the new one isn't totally working...
I already made my way through the issues surrounding the internal webcam disappearing when ever it wants!!

first time it says "driver updated please reboot" and then after reboot it should work.

I Have Aero Peek, Windows Media Center, and Gadgets Working in Windows 7

I managed to install the drivers just right to where I have Aero with Peek working at the 1024 x 600 resolution all the time. When you click the screen resolution switcher button, going to 800 x 480, it automatically disables the feature, but at least it doesn't crash. I also have gadgets working on there with no problem. In either screen resolution it will automatically adjust their position once initially set.
Windows Media Center is working as well. If you open it in either resolution it works no problem and looks the same either way. I ran it through its paces and not once did it crash or lag much. Here's the funny thing. When you close Windows Media Center, and only if you were already in the 800 x 480 screen res before opening it, when you close Windows Media Center, Aero will work at the 800 x 480 resolution as well. I had no less than 5 windows open, one of which was Windows Update, which was actively downloading, and Aero worked with no problem at the 800 x 480 resolution, even with 100% of the CPU in use. Strange huh?
Is this something everyone already knows how to do? These forums are so jumbled these days, I don't have the time to search all the posts and find out. If needed I'll write up a post on how I got it to work.
Mind you, I have 2GB of RAM.
Update (a couple hours later): I just switched over to 800 x 480 and Aero w/ Peek stayed on!
Update (an hour later): Everything is still a go. Aero Peek, Windows Media Center, Gadgets!!!! Yes!!!

Good to hear your RAM is working. I tried Aero, and that seemed to be the only thing I can't get to work that Blue Screens me. I don't feel like Re-Installing Windows to take advantage of such a Trivial Feature. Windows Mediacenter I am not too sure about. I would wonder what does Windows Media Center have available not inherent to Windows 7? My ignorance toward Media Center Shows here, maybe you could enlighten me on the subject.
Actually, for that matter, I don't even use Aero, but I did test it because I knew it crashed things with 1GB of RAM and once I had 2 I tested again to no avail.

Yeah, Aero gets killed due to incompatibility with drivers, unless you do it right. Basically just don't install the first two that come in the HTC Drivers pack, or the first two listed in the "install order." Just update via device manager. I can write up a more detailed guide if there is interest.
As far as Windows Media Center, it's just a convenient place for all forms of media with a nice navigable user interface. It has built in access to live streaming TV, Netflix, etc. You can hook a TV Tuner to the Shift and watch TV through it, record live TV for later viewing, etc. All of this can be done elsewhere, but this is your one-stop shop.
And yes my RAM issue as been solved. I left an updated post in the "Shift RAM?" thread about that.
Another Thing That is Working Much Better
There's one other thing that is working much better with this installation method, the screen going to sleep. Previously, when the screen went to sleep it would come all the way back on when you interacted with it. You would have to get something to move on the screen to get it back on, or press the bottom right corner to show the desktop.
Now you can just move the mouse and it comes back all the way no problem, the way it's supposed to work. It was a nuisance to me, but not anymore!
I See Now That This is Nothing New
I just found a thread where they got the same thing working: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=575678 , and it's from Oct 2009, oh well . . .
At least I figured it out on my own . . . these forums are so jumbled . . . I'm working on an "Ultimate HTC Shift Guide." Maybe stuff can be kept more up-to-date that way.
I also tried different resolutions and worked! Worked after updating the video driver to the last Intel version and with the brilliant help from taihugo! I've been able to switch from 800x480 even to 1152x864 without the usual blue screen crash!
The only thing I'm really missing on this device is the battery; is a kind of joke with less than 2 hours (with W7). Mugen is delaying tooooo much time to deliver the powerful 6600 mAh!
Cheers,
