MTube & Real Player - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Friends,
I searched this forum for youtube articles and still am a little confused.
Noticed that www.m.youtube.com allows the video to stream to the tilt using realplayer application. Each time I try this I receive a error "media unknown" and the program doesn't load the vide.
Why doesn't this use windows media player instead? Secondly, I think that a .cab file needs to be loaded on my tilt in order to view videos from this site.
Please advise and Thank You,
Tvos

Use the HTC Streaming Media player. You can get it (if it's not on your device already) from the extracted HTC apps thread that should be stickied in this forum.

Youtube on Tilt

Is it possible to watch youtube videos on my tilt? i go to youtube.com and click on a vid and it says file type invalid and it's showing real player as the program to play the video, i downloaded TCPMP, went through all the instructions to get it set up correctly, but still the same thing, is real player the default program? if so how do i change that? so windows media or TCPMP is the correct one? thanks
Either get vTap (google it) or HTC Streaming Media. It has been posted here before very recently.

Couldn't i just make TCPMP or windows media player the default player? would that work? if so were do i make either one the default player, i couldn't find it in either program.
The HTC Streaming Media proggy will fix your problem. vTap is a self-contained app that pulls videos off google and youtube. Take yer pick.
just go to www.ytpocket.com it works the best out of all the you tube solutions ive tried
you just need tcpmp and flash bundle. Search on this forum. I've installed them and working youtube and all other flash base website playing fine on my tilt. Just browse through youtube, click on the video, tcpmp just opened by itself and play the video.
Thanks for the help, i've give these ideas a shot.
Tap http://m.youtube.com/ in your mobile browser. Vids will automatically launch in Streaming Media.
Anyone have a link to HTC Streaming Media download? i did a search but didn't see it.

ive noticed that no matter what you install youtube will not work on some tilts
now i have the htc media player, i went to youtube.com, which takes me to m.youtube.com and i click on a video to see and it says failed to find network, it brings up the htc player now instead of the real player, but i get the same results and cant watch video, do i need to do anything w/the htc media player settings?

may be this link might help
ok, i've tried eveything mentioned here and some things mentioned on other threads and i still cant get youtube to work, the only thing i haven't tried is vtap and the only reason why is because when i go to install it on my TILT, i get an error that says " the file Vtap_pcc" can not be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets can not be found.
I deleted it from my tilt and tried it again, i made sure it was from the tilt selection on the vtap site, but still same error, Anyone able to help me with this, i've been working on this issue going on 3 days now.
also the error i'm getting when i go to youtube and click on a video link is "failed to conect to network" it opens up the streaming media player, and after about 5-10 seconds i get that error and it closes out.
did you find the HTC streaming media cab? That's what fixed it for me. vtap also works quite good.
I don't know if you tried the link I put above. Also look at this one: LINK
i used ytpocket on my wizard and now my kaiser. you can stream or download. works perfectly
I have HTC Streaming Media pre-installed on my Vario. I have since installed RealPlayer.
Now when I click on a YouTube video in IE nothing happens.
If I do it in Opera it tries to load the video in RealPlayer and fails with "Request failed".
How can I make the videos load in the HTC Player instead?
Ok I've got a tilt, so I've got the HTC Media player installed and I can now access m.youtube.com with no problems. However I would like to have access to the classic youtube.com however when I click a video it takes me to an error page saying to install flash player etc etc
What's the deal? Did I miss something? I thought the HTC player would handle standard youtube as well

Please help the newbie (Tilt)

Hi. Have looked all around, cannot find answers for this. I want to stream internet radio on my phone. I've downloaded TCPMP and Flash video bundle, installed, no problems watching YouTube videos. But when I go to various websites (Streamcenter, etc.) and click on links I get "player:audio codec (windows media audio)not supported by the player!"
??
Also, is there a newbie step by step instruction thread for this, or just getting a radio to work?
TIA,
Patrick

I've streamed internet radio on my Tilt with no hacking at all. I've tried XM Mobile, and Live 365. Live 365 had a lot more stations available, and was cheaper than XM. Live 365 also has about a dozen free stations that still work after the trial expires. I've never tired to stream radio over WMP, but I guess its possible, I just never tried it.

I was looking to stream thru TCPMP, if possible. Checked out XM mobile, didn't have stations I was looking for.
When you try to stream it should create a file in \My Documents with an audio or video extension. You need to make sure that you have selected the file association in TCPMP options & then you can find this stream file & click on it & hold. Then select open with & browse to TCPMP. This may work depending on the format.
When posting about audio/video issues, it's always a good idea to let everyone know what format the file/stream is in. Makes it easier to offer help.

Sorry, had a feeling I was missing something when I started this thread.
I'm able to listen to stations that are mp3, getting error message when I listen to stations that use Windows Media Player. Is this not compatible with TCPMP?
I've read various posts about AAC codec not working with the version of TCPMP I have (0.72RC1), could this be a part of my problem?
Also, have not downloaded any new cabs, factory settings on still, except for a few demo bloatwares I was able to delete without resetting.
Rom v1.57.502.2
Radio v1.27.12.11
Hope this helps
Cheers,
Patrick

Downloading cabs question

Hi,
I want to view streaming media files, so have download the TCMP cab and also the flashbundle cab to my desktop and then I copied them to my storage card on my Kaiser. However, they are not showing up as programmes in my programme files. I must be doing something wrong, but can't figure out what it is.
You need to run the CAB files on the Kaiser to actually install the programs. Navigate to the files using file explorer on the Kaiser and then tap them to open the CAB files. This will then kick-off the install process. Just follow the instructions from there; you'll have the choice of installing to main memory or the storage card.
Excellent, much appreciated !!
Well, I am pleased to announce that I can now stream videos, thanks to the help of this forum.
I have one other question though. When I stream a video, the playback pauses on a regular basis (and shows the coloured wheel) before resuming playback. Is there a cure for this?

TCPMP- File Associations

Does anyone know why TCPMP will not open when accessing mobile Youtube videos? When I try to open a link at m.youtube the stock HTC "Steaming Media" player always opens.
I have:
-a HTC S730
-WM6
-TCPMP Ver. .72RC1
-Installed FLV Plugin 0.4.2
-Associated Files-Flash Video, MMS Protocol, Mpeg, HTTP, AIF, M3U, NSV, OGG, Matroska, Musepack and PLS -and at one point all files
-Done a soft reset
-uninstalled and reinstalled both TCPMP and the plugin
I expect that the TCPMP would open...?? Please correct me if Im wrong.
The reason I want to use the TCPMP player vs the Streaming Media player is that the Streaming Media player has poor A/V quality and Im hoping TCPMP will improve it. Thanks.
You might want to take a look in This thread, might help.
Thanks for the reply. Ive read through the tread, different problem.
Ive downloaded the files and followed the instructions @ ytpocket again. Still opening files with Streaming Media..!!!! Its driving me nuts.
Hmm, if no one has responded by time I wake up i'll take a peak into it I never really use You Tube on my phone and if I do I find the default to be sufficient.
In the mean time double check all the menu options in it to see if you can change the default association, I know you mentioned associated files but the program needs to tell the OS that it will take over instead of the other, this might be accomplished with a simple registry change but again not sure.

having probloms playing streaming videos?

I have 8925 tilt with htc's wm 6.1 and pocket core player I have real player and I have htc streaming video but streaming video won't play anything on the part where it says connect its says this rtsp://. core player gives this message error can not open url or video loader error. someone please help me thanx advance reply to this
Hi, I have the same problem and hope someone help us...
Buy The Coreplayer, Youtube is integrated in this software.
There are several solutions on the forum where you can get TCMP + IE to work with youtube, just use the almighty search.
coreplayer v1.25
@troyk
I searched everywhere to find a solution for my problem. I`ve bought coreplayer v1.25, installed newest TCMP (+FlashVideoBundle) and so on...but nothing is going properly with my orig. HTC-WM 6.1 german (Tytn II).
I dont like to flash my tilt so I try to search a solution here...
If someone like to post his preferences for network, video and so on here I wold be very thankful and happy...
I downloaded both core player from wiki with flash video bundle and both core didn't work
I've posted this elsewhere on this forum but didn't get any replies.
My problem is somewhat different.
I have a TyTN II on the 3UK network running WM6 with Streaming Media preinstalled.
I cannot stream any external content (Youtube etc...) only the content from planet three (3UK's walled internet) works when using HDSPA or GPRS connection. Any other video streaming site will result in a "can't find network"
But on WiFi I'm able to stream any external content (youtube etc).
Any help would be greatly appreiciated.
and my realplayer is not playing any video from the media net home some help please.
