Hey guys,
Im looking to flash a new ROM onto my Wing for the 1st time and I'd like to kind of take baby steps. I believe HardSPL can lead to bricking and im not really willing to take that chance, So I need a SoftSPL ROM because I just cant put up with how slow the Stock Wing ROM is with the software I have installed.I type 3x faster than the letters show up on the screen
Im looking for a rom WM 6.0 or 6.1 doesn't matter but 6.1 would be cool I would also like to have to do as little after install fixes as possible. I know some ROMS have bluetooth and mms issues that Id rather not have to fix if possible.
Here is what I have installed on the stock ROM, maybe this list can help you see what I need/want in a ROM
HTC Task Manager
HTC Home2.x
HTC 10 button comm manager
HTC Dialer Skin
HTC Calculator skin
HTC Album
duttythroy Task Manager
psShutXP
Battery Status
PMH Registry Editor
Finster869 WMR Remote Desktop
Vicsoft Clear Temp
Thank you very much.

Look at the Open Touch Series. Its USPL so you dont have to hard SPL your phone. I currently use 4.0 Lite and it works great for me. 5.0 is currently in the process of being released I beleive some time this week. Check it out...

Yeah, I agree. I would def. check out the open touch series. Easy to flash to, and comes with a lot of goodies.
I have been using the herald-uspl flashcenter for all the rom I found on this board, including opentouch, touch-it, ASerg, ITSPapaBlack, etc, without hardspl.
Thanks guys, I went with the Open Touch 4.0 Lite and so far im happy with it. MUCH MUCH faster then the TMO Rom

I've done a google search and found nothing so I was wondering if there was a WM 6.5 titanium today plugin cab out there? I have some important medical software that won't work on any cooked ROMs except stock but I still wanted to play with the new home screen

I was searching as well. But couln't find it.
You have to have WM6.5 before you can get the WM6.5 homescreen. There is not cab file that will make it work with WM6.1 at this time.
Could someone turn it into a panel or something instead maybe?
i'm sowry to put the same title again, but you didn't understood me. Wath i really want is to know if the cooker's can do a rom with the start menu of 6.1 and the way for instance we go to settings and connections and system, the way the pages are shown, the fonts, colours and so on.
may be the form i'm sayng this is not the most correct, and maybe my fault, but i'm trying the best i know.
I'm not asking you the rom you prefer - in that questions, i think each one should try and choose the one who serves you better, and it's impossible to please everybody....
i think it will be great to have a rom 6.1, with the usal interface, but when you press for instance settings - sounds, appear the fonts and graphics like 6.5 rom's... and connections and the file explorer and .....
is it possible, if yes i think the 6.1 rom will be much
i'm sayng this because 6.5 for me is confused, to achieve settings, programs and you have to scroll the front page and others.
my objectif is to know if that is possible, just that, and if someone can do that, infortunately, i don't know
IF the MOD think's this isn't the right place, he will do the right thing, to close or to put it in another place - all i want is to help, give ideas, and i'm not worried if the MOD come to close the thread - he will do the best...
If the MOD think's this thread doesn't have any utility please do what you have to do. i will not insist in this questions again
But i don't lose my time, just to ask to be closed....
Why don't you try a 6.5 with Manila? Like Miri Premium

I'll see if answer's my questions.
Thank you
Are you saying you want a wm 6.5 rom with the start menu of a windows 6.1 rom? Why would you want this?
I don't see the point, 6.5 is only a graphic evolution of 6.1, if you remove that, 6.1=6.5.
You can install the wisbar advance and get the same fn in wm6.5
i like classic start menu. For me is easy to access last programs used before and the access to programs in general. Just that.
Miri is a good option in fact, but classic menu cab doesn't work.
But i appreciate your help indeed.
Thnank you.
same sh*it differen smell
hi everybody, that's my first thread here,i'm from italy,my blackstone has a cooked rom "lucapicci nextgen 1.7.2 with wm6.1

premium without manila should suit your needs
thanks man,but i can't find any screenshot....
bye!
Use google ? I think there are more than enough 6.5 screenshots arround
Why don't you just disable Sense then?
i've tried to lookin for with google,i found a lot of pics, but i dont know how is the wm6.5 without interface...
maybe i have to choose a rom and flash the blackstone.....
They all have the basic windows interface you just need to disable the HTC one and enable the windows default, as mentioned above there are a million screenshots online if you use a search engine like google.
from any 6.5 rom...
click start/settings/today
you'll then be presented with the theme selection page, at the bottom are two tabs "appearance" and "items"
click the "items" tab
you'll then see a tickbox list
DESELECT "HTC Sense"
SELECT "Windows Default"
press the tick in the top right hand corner
press the home button.
That's how windows 6.5 looks.
If you want you can also change the themes from the "appearance" tab you were at earlier, most roms come with 3 or 4 6.5 themes as well as the htc and windows default versions.
For a beginners FAQ I suggest you read the wiki which you can find by clicking the link below:

you are wrong.
HTC stuff works under, like oversized keyboard for grannies, very bad contact manager if you really use it, calendar appointment manager (which allows you only to snooze for 5mins), album which leaves goo in every folder it visited, and other not so easily detected stuff.
Disabling these flaws is not possible. Only by removing these brakes from the rom you get normally looking and behaving device.
BTW. there's many good up-to-date national ROMs without htc stuff by local chefs, they're just not WWE
take it easy with Ervius Kitchen give it a try and 2 evenings... you can cook perfect rom according to your choice... better than asking for any made Me did 23089 with only a basic apps I need, some wizards from htc which are not actually so bad (e.g. connection settings which automatically fulfill gprs, the htc keyboard and phone canvas). Man., contacts, etc. removed )
The only very bad thing with Ervius Kitchen by Sparkienl is the dshow driver, which has to be downloaded separately while the original new version is a piece of sh*t... follow the forum and you will see the solution.
If you are interested, I can upload you somewhere my rom... But I recommend you Sparkienl kitchen in this forum and building your own - really the fastest way, much more faster than asking still for improvements anybody.
sure you can upload your ROM somewhere
Or you can share with us the package selections (package.txt or *.erv) you selected.
