Exactally one day after I received my replacement 8925, the screen on the new device died. The screen almost looks like the contrast is maxed out but I dont think that is the problem. I can barely make out the today screen if I strain my eyes.
I double checked the power options and the backlight is set at the midpoint. I have also tried soft resets and removing the battery, neither seemed to work.
My first 8925 suffered from the RLOD failure. FYI - both the charger and battery are different from what came with my original. Ill try to remember to take some pics tonight if you guys are interested.
Please help! I really do not want to have to send this one back too.

screen locked
today
found this on the HTC wiki, it's a much better description of my problem but there was not a solution posted with it.
"My tilt phone screen unexpectedly became very white, with the icons almost appearing as negative images. There seem to be a few lines that run across the screen that seem 'burned in'."
here is the rom, radio and protocol data if it matters.

anyone?
I have the EXACT SAME problem with the tilt I've been using for TWO HOURS. My screen looks exactly the same as yours.
What ended up happening for you?
Anyone have anything to contribute?
Arranged to send it back for a new one. Really hope this doesn't happen again.
I've the same problem. My phone felt down and then it happend. I've checked all powertape's connecting screen keyboard and mainboard. It look's like screen problem.

please help !
just soft reset the XDA2i about ten times and it will apper again.
Naviator
It doesn't. I've got the same problem here. I'm going to remove applications one by one as I'm afraid it's some third party software that's responsible for that icon's disappearance.
Will keep you posted.
Mine keeps disappearing too so to save time I just assigned the voice record button to rotate the screen. Still works even if the icon isnt there.
OK, in my case, the culprit was SPB Diary.
I've just sent a message to SPB Support. I'll also examine the CAB, see if it does anything weird with the registry that might interfere with the icon (who knows ?).
Right ... The CAB doesn't touch anything apart from its own software version key. I went to edit the HKLM/Software/GID/Rotation "Hide" key, but it was already "0" (ie "don't hide").
So I'm afraid this really is a problem caused by SPB Diary. Thankfully SPB Pocket Plus has "rotate left/right" items you can add to your today plugin...
I've had my XDA IIi for over a year and probably had the rotate icon on the screen for 2 weeks in total! For me what software i used wasn't an issue, in fact very occasionally it would return for a few days by it's self before going again!
Unless you find an app to keep it on screen u'll have to live with it...
So this is the second time the screen on my Tilt has shown up as just scrambled snow. (See attached Pic)

This is the second time it has happened upon resuming my Tilt from sleep. The only way to correct it is to soft reset the phone. Not a huge deal, but it is a little unnerving to resume my Tilt from sleep and see that mess.
The first time it happened shortly after installing the HTC Album viewer (can't remember the build). So I quickly uninstalled it.
I have since then installed a newer build of HTC Album (which is a really nice app, when it works) and have had it installed for a few days. Sure enough, today this screen showed up again.
Has anyone else seen this before?
weird - i havent had that happen to me (yet? :S)
I had this happen once after just getting the phone. I hadn't changed or installed anything at that point
i have had this happen once to me, when i flashed a new rom it gave me this screen after the boot up screen, waited and tried soft resetting and hard resetting and reflashing and nothing could fix it so i just reflashed a different rom and never saw the problem again, maybe try a hard reset if you arent too worried about settings?
Edit: i have a Tilt
For those that have seen this screen on your device, do you have Tilts or TyTn IIs?
Well I had it after installing some game, that seems to didn't support the tytn II stuff.... In normal work it never occured to me. I Would also suggest hard reset, maybe an app screwed it up...
If everything above doesnt resolve the issue, i will suggest take it back to the vendor you got it from and get it replaced ..
I've had my Diamond for about a week or so now and after a few days I noticed a relatively minor cosmetic issue. As seen in the pics below, the button pad on the bottom is slightly raised on the right side. The buttons still function as normal. It's not really noticeable when you're holding the device during normal usage, but pretty visible when looking at it from certain angles. Are there any decent disassembly instructions/walkthroughs for the Sprint Diamond floating around? I found the service manual for the euro diamond, but not the CDMA Sprint version. I can probably do it myself, but it always helps to have a backup in case I forget how to re-assemble certain parts. I'm not sure it's something I really want to bother sending the phone back for or anything. I can live with it if I can't fix it myself.

Diamond service manual
Hi if you PM me your email adress I will email you the service manual.
Ken
I've got the normal Diamond (squared version) and it also has the this problem since the very first day, but on the left side of the panel (the home button). I checked a friend's diamond and it had exactly the same thing on the same place.
Anybody else?
I somewhat fixed it by just fabricating a small washer (out of a twist tie) that goes under the screw on that side, so when you tighten the screw down it pulls the button pad inward a little. It's not perfect, but much better.
I believe I dropped my Nexus One while I was drunk and damaged the AMOLED screen. This is what the damage looks like:
img.photobucket . com/albums/v332/twylo/Photoon2011-06-19at1151.jpg
(apologies, don't have enough posts)
I don't believe the digitizer is damaged because I can still feel the haptic feedback, such as when I slide the lock across and it gives a little buzz when it unlocks, home button etc. Just the screen is damaged. I'm assuming that it isn't a loose connection and that I actually broke the screen. I'm just not sure which replacement LCD to get. I know there is the original AMOLED, and then the Sony version, but am I restricted to one since I (think) have the AMOLED? I would like to stay with the original AMOLED if I could. Any help would be appreciated, need to get my phone back up and running as soon as I can!
Thanks
from what i know, if you get it replaced by htc, it will probably be a slcd screen as samsung is churning out s/amoled as fast as they can and not everybody is on the priority list. slcd is supposedly better on battery life but still can't match the blacks/contrast of the amoled screen.
I'm in the same boat here. Figured I'd just post in the same thread since it looks like we have the exact same problem.
This is my phone now:

The touch screen works and the glass is not cracked the glass is cracked, I can tell if the phone is off and look carefully.
I can still see parts of the image. I'm looking on ebay for parts but I'm not really sure what's what.
Does anyone know how long it will take and how much it will cost to get it repaired by HTC? Will they only do it if it's under warranty?
My phone is the ATT model too which complicates things, some auctions on ebay mention a difference between models.
Well, let me explain. I have this issue since a while now, I remember that from the very beggining (using Ginger Bread) this issue wasn't there on my display. And now is getting really annoying, I don't know exactly why, but I definetely feel like this is getting worse.
First of all, it's not a serious problem that affects deeply, the phones works great, it doesn't affect the general function at all. Is just a LCD problem, it will be great to find a solution to this so I can enjoy my phone at 100%.
Specifically, when I'm on the screen watching pictures with red tones (red, orange, yellow, sometimes green) I can see tiny static lines on my display. I mean, the lines are static more on the left side of the screen. How do I know that are static? Well, when I scroll down or scroll up, zoom in or zoom out the image continues with the resolution and color and the lines are there like glued to the glass from inside and makes it look bad.
It's crazy, I don't know what to do. I read in other forum, (S2 forum) that those lines go away by flashing with Apollo kernel.... anyway, I can't attach any screenshot because it's not a software problem, the image will look fine if I do. It's a hardware problem. But what to do?
I've tested the LCD by *#0*# and in RED you definetely see how the lines are showing, are like a gradient. I take a picture, I hope you can see what I'm talking about.

I have the same problem for the red color but on the right side...I wonder if waranty would fix that?
