Customizing the auto ring volume settings - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hey everyone,
So my question is - can the auto ring volume settings be customized in some way? It is pretty awesome that it utilizes my calendar to try and set the ring volume of the phone based on what I might be doing, but I'd like to have a little more flexibility over this. Is there a way to customize this?
Maybe even a third party software that can handle this with a larger feature set?
Thanks!
-Alex

Email notification sounds even when phone silent

I've noticed something weird since installing the newest version of advanced config (that might not even be the problem though) and it seems to still be present after uninstalling. But, when I have my phone set to silent (correct me if I'm going crazy), then no notification sounds would normally come through (this is even with the volume set at highest level). The only thing that would work would be system sounds (from videos, music and such). Since setting sound events through adv config now my notifications (only email, not text messaging for some reason) still sounds when my phone is set to silent. I'm sure that shouldn't be happening and the only thing I did was of course, change the sounds using advanced config. Am I losing it or has anyone else noticed the same behavior? One other minor detail. When I set the phone to just vibrate, then (like it should) I get no notification sounds...just vibrate. It's like the silent profile is screwed up somehow.
Think I found the problem and this may have been done by design to allow you to control each system sounds and it's volume separately. Apparently when you set the sounds using adv config it creates a key (InitVol which makes sense) for the volume level you want that particular sound setting to be at. With this key set, it overrides the system volume levels. The key is located at HKEY Current User\ControlPanel\Sounds. Each notification sound is listed in there. Just go into the one you dont want overridden by adv config and delete the InitVol key and all goes back to normal.
Hope this helps out others using the app!
Good tips man, thanks!

[Q] Multiple Ring Profiles

Advance apologies if this has been asked and answered. I am running continuum 4.1 on captivate. I would like to have multiple ring profiles in addition to "silent". For example sometimes I would like to ring on phone only and other times vibrate only or no ring and no vibrate. Can anyone point me towards a solution?
Thanks,
quielo
i don't have an answer for you, but you could just use the shortcut in the notification pull down. It would probably take you about the same amount of time to switch a profile as it would to select silence or vibrate whenever you want.
Yes, download the Simple Sound Profile app from the market. Its free and it lets you create several ringer/notification profiles that you can then select from the home screen widget. Works great and does exactly what you're looking for.
I never really understood why this isn't included in Android. I was previously a long time nokia user and you could crate as many ringer profiles as you wanted on those.

[Q] Notification Volume Adjustment (ICS)?

I did the recent ICS update on my stock VIvid this weekend by downloading from HTC and updating it through my computer. I couldn't get the OTA to install from my phone for some reason.
Anyhow, the overall volume has increased which is a good thing since with GB the volume was rather low.
I can't remember if the Notification Volume was a part of the Ringtone Volume in GB. Can someone with a GB Vivid check for me? I believe it was a separate volume adjustment.
I'm somewhat annoyed with ICS that there are only 3 volume adjustments you can make - (1) Games, Music, etc (2) Ringtone and Notification (3) Alarms. I want to be able to adjust the Notification separately from the Ringtone. Is there any way for this to be done?
Other than that (and losing my games' progress), I am overall satisfied with ICS.
I use an app called PERSIST | VOLUME CONTROL
its free from the market and allows for volume changing for
alarm, media, ringer, notification, system and voice, it also allows you to lock them (this was my main use for the app, I always bump the volume control as I'm used to the rocker being on the opposite side of the screen)

on a similar note, I'm pissed that HTC removed the custom tone selection from their exchange client... I wish I could just get the AOSP exchange client, its so nice, I don't know why htc even bother writing their own
FWIW, in general, in Gingerbread (not sure about "Sense" GB), you could have notification and ringer volumes unlinked. In ICS, these 2 are now linked and you can't unlink them without special apps (some work, some don't) or a custom ROM. Just check out some of the complaints over in the Galaxy Nexus forums about this. I'm not sure why Google made this change.
david, I will check out the app.
co.ag, so I was remembering it correctly - Sense GB had everything separate from each other. I wish Google did not link Notifications to Ringtone. Its just bloody annoying for me to have all the main tones loud. I had everything where I was comfortable with on GB (well, the ringtone could have been louder...heh).
Thanks for the help guys.
I just tried out Persist Volume Control. It does not allow the Notifications to be adjusted independently of the Ringtone. It behaves just like ICS where the two are linked.
Grr....

I have a question about volume on ics and such. Its about the keyboard clicks, lock/unlock tick, the volume levels on gingerbread were very loud and noticeable but on ics you have to hold the speaker to your ear to hear it, is it just the rom i'm running or ics in general?
On a side note volume for everything else is normal and working great.
Anybody might know how to raise the volume level just for the mentioned tones.
Running wildchilds ics 3.6
Volume Butler
Volume Butler is the best app for separate ringer and notification volumes, and it's free. The app is simply one of the best apps I've ever seen.

[Q]CM9 Lockscreen Sound

I have an issue with my lockscreen sound, it only works once, after i either change or edit the Profile, and besides that, its volume is incredibly low.
Are there any 3rd party apps that can use to change this behaviour? I'd rather not flash it again if possible.
Also, if anyone could point me to an app that I can use to change the dial pad tone sound, that'd be neat.
Thank you.
Can anyone help me here please?

New to Tasker - can it do this?

I am new to Tasker -- and before I start spending loads of time learning the language, I need to know if it can do the one thing I need most urgently.
My brand new Samsung S23 Ultra has one bad feature - vibration that is so soft I can't feel it. What I am looking to do is, essentially, switch between two sound profiles without having to go into settings and change a bunch of settings one by one. Setting one would be the normal sounds -- an MP3 ringtone and rather standard sounds. Setting 2 would change the "ringtone" to a sound that resembles a vibration, as well as changing the notification sounds (e.g. incoming text messages) to the same thing, and lowering the volume of the ringtone and notifications. That way, the phone will sound like a good old vibration, and thus sound like it was silenced (but I will hear the fake vibration and know I have incoming).
Can Tasker do this, and create buttons or the like to enable each sound profile?
Many thanks!
